(1) Introduction

Hi, my name is Zunair and I will tell you about using red chinchompas to get 99 range. It should be noted that this method is very fast but also very expensive. Each trip at skeleton monkeys is about 750k (including chins and pots). I believe that you should have atleast 25m to 30m to start using this method. Also, it takes about 50k-60k chins from 80-99 range so u can figure out how many chins it will take u. This is my first time making a guide and I really hope this guide will help you. <img src='http://forum.tip.it/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' />

(2) Requirements

Quests:

Monkey Madness (to get greegree)

Rum Deal (to get holy wrench)

Skills:

55 range needed (80+ range recommended)

43 prayer needed (60+ prayer recommended)

NO attack needed (70+ attack recommended)

Other:

Now u have to make a choice to either turn eagle eye prayer on along with protect from melee or only use protect from melee without using eagle eye prayer.

With Eagle Eye Prayer: More prayer pots, less chinchompas.

Without Eagle Prayer: Less prayer pots, more chinchompas.

Note: You can use approx. 1500 chins per trip without eagle eye on and 1200 with eagle eye on. Personally, I recommend using eagle eye prayer since it helps alot in the long run.

(3) Preperations

Equipment:

This is the equipment i wear when i go chinning (the main aim of the equipment is to give decent prayer bonus without sacrificing range bonus):

The underlined armour pieces are the ones I recommend

Helm: Void Ranger Helm, Ranger Helm, God Mitre, Armadyl Helm, Karil's Coif.

Body: Void Robe Top, Black D,hide Body, God Robe Top, Armadyl Chestplate, Karil's Top.

Legs: Void Robe Bottom, Black D,hide Chaps, God Robe Bottom, Armadyl Plateskirt, Karil's Skirt.

Shield: Unholy Book(Zamorak), Book of Balance(Guthix), Holy Book(Saradomin).

Gloves: Void Knight Gloves, Black D,hide Vambraces, Barrows Gloves.

Boots: Ranger Boots, Snakeskin Boots, White Boots.

Cape: Ava's Attractor, Ava's Accumulator, God Cloak, Firecape, Skillcape.

Amulet: Amulet of Fury, Amulet of Glory, God Stole, Holy Symbol, Unholy Symbol.

Ring: Archers' Ring, Ring of Life.

Weapon: 1.5k to 2k Red Chinchompas.

Note: I don't recommend Armadyl Armour or Ranger Boots because they are very expensive and no one would like to lose them. When using Karil's armour remember that there will be some huge repair costs. Also, Void Armour is by far the best for chinning because it gives 15% increase in range and attack.

Inventory:

This is what my inventory looks like when i go chinning:

Optional items can be replaced with a Prayer Potion(4), Range Potion(4) or a Shark.

Greegree (Any greegree other than zombie since u can't run in that form)....Optional

Super Antipoison(4) x1 (To cure poison from traps and spiders. Super is better since it protects from poison for a few mins and u will be unaffected from poison during that time).

Ranging Potion(4) x3 (To get range lvl up so u can hit higher and get more xp)

Holy Wrench (gives one or two extra prayer points per dose of prayer potion, depends on your prayer level)....Optional

Prayer Potion(4) x19 (To recharge prayer points).

Sharks x2 (To get hp up which will be lost from falling rocks and traps while navigating through the dungeon).

Home Tele-tab (Can be replaced with any tele-tab, fast teleport method when done with trip).

(4) Getting There

(5) How To Kill Them

Removed - Laikrob

If there are bones on top of each other on 1 square, only 1 monkey will spawn at a time so make sure you spread them around.

It is recommended to get a spot with your back against the wall so monkeys can't attack you from behind.

Ok now the main concept is to hit as many monkeys as u can (red chinchompas can hit max 9 npc's at once). For this u need to know about the 3x3 box and how to arrange the monkeys to make it. You have to hit the middle monkey to gain as much xp as possible.

Remember to use Short Fuse attack style. This is like accurate attack so no extra chinchompas are wasted and they hit better.

Also keep Auto-Retaliate off so you don't hit any monkey that attacks you, you have to hit the middle one to recieve max xp.

Here is a pic I took of myself and u can see me hitting 9 monkeys at once:

viu1252746133r.jpg

Sometimes you will have to move around to arrange the monkeys so u can hit most of them. Just keep moving until they arrange themselves.

Note: Sometimes the monkey skeletons will turn into burning bones, randomly or when they are not attacked for a while. This means that the monkey has been wasted and the burning bones will disappear after a while. Previously, the burning bones actually spawned some randoms (evil chicken, strange plant or security guard) and even two monkeys spawned from them at times, but this is no longer the case.

(6) Time/Xp table

With Hawk Eye or Eagle Eye Prayer it'll be even more (up to 300k xp each hour).

Note: Depending on your method and prayer used, u can do 800 - 1.5k Red Chinchompas per hour.

(7) Extra Information

About The Skeleton Monkeys:

You are fighting Skeletons , those undead lvl 142's have 112 hitpoints, give 113 Slayer xp and drop nothing except bones from which they respawn about a minute later if u are standing near them.

How u can make them agressive again:

Run until your location is off the minimap. Run back and the monkeys will be agressive again. After about 1.5 hour, they won't get agressive again unless you run out the tunnel.

Where u should log out:

Although I recommend completing a whole trip without logging out or leaving, but, if you really need to log out, here are some spots (if you have a greegree, log out as a monkey):

Removed - Laikrob

If u log in without a greegree , turn Protect from Melee on, Fast!!!

What happens during random events:

When u are teleported away for a random event, all your spawned monkeys will be gone by the time u return (reason explained in FAQs).

What happpens when u die: <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_exclaim.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':!:' />

This is something to be noted. When u die, all your items will be saved by your gravestone except your chinchompas. This means that you will lose all your carried chinchompas when u die (reason explained in FAQs). I recommend getting either the gravestone worth 50k (zamorak, zaros, saradomin, etc.) or the one worth 500k (angel of death). This is because it takes time to get to and navigate through the dungeon (especially if u are at spot 3 or 4). These gravestones last longer and will make sure your items are safe.

Note: The Giant Dwarf quest is required to get these gravestones.

Armadyl Gravestone (50k) (There are others like this one as well like zaros, zamorak, etc)

Angel of Death Gravestone (500k)

So I recommend u be careful and don't let your prayer fall too low or u might end up like a friend of mine:

(8) Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can you also do this with grey chinchompas?

A: You could, but it's not worth it. The xp is not very good so it's a waste of prayer potions. It would be better to train on yaks with bronze knives.

Q: Can I also train magic here?

A: Yes, it's good xp but it will cost a lot of money.

Q: Would a Salve Amulet (e) be any good there? It increases your Strength and Accuracy against Undead monsters by 20%.

A: Nope, Salve Amulet (e) only works for melee combat.

Q: Why do all my spawned skeleton monkeys disappear after I come back from a random event?

A: This is because all the skeleton monkeys turn into burning bones and eventually disappear.

Q: Is it worth it to use Eagle Eye Prayer?

A: Yes, I definitely recommend using eagle eye prayer since it will help out alot in the long run and also save time.

Q: Why don't my chinchompas get saved by my gravestone even though all the other items do?

A: This is because chinchompas don't have a drop option when u right-click them. So, they can't be dropped even when u die which causes them to simply disappear.

Q: Is it better to use chinchompas on mummies or skeleton monkeys?

A: Definitely monkeys because they respawn from their own bones and don't die very quickly. Also, your training is not slowed down when u stop to pick up drops and u have to keep free inventory slots to begin with. But, training at skeleton monkeys carries more risk.

Lastly, I would like to say please be fair, if someone is training at ''your'' favorite spot, don't start flaming him or trying to ruin his chinning. Just hop world, there are 350+ spots (4 each world) and its not possible for all of them to be occupied.

Well, thats it for my guide. I copied the xp/time table, a few paragraphs and three of the pics from a pre-made ranging guide but other than that I wrote everything and added some pics. Everything I have written is according to my experience and what I think and is only a guideline for people who are new to this. I hope this guide helped u as it was my first guide. If I missed something, please post and tell me.

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
