XxTearGodxX
I for one personally wouldn't mind lowering my CPU Usage while playing RuneScape, though I'm stumped which setting to put it on. It seems the "Lower" I put my CPU Usage setting in RuneScape the higher my usage gets, why the hell is that when this thing is supposedly supposed to lower CPU Usage? Zantareous
I noticed no difference no matter what setting I put it to. (CPU usage of my computer also didn't change)
Zaaps1
Well not enough time has elapsed for me to be sure, but I've noticed that when set on the lowest option, Runescape stops randomly freezing while I play on Google Chrome. ~It's Super Effective! Wheels
You know how to find your CPU usage, right? I find that mine lowers between 10-15% from maximum to lowest. Are you winning The Game?
RSBDavid
I also notice a 5-10% difference in processor usage according to my Logitech G15 performance application when messing with usuage. I guess this mainly effects lower-end computers. [software Engineer] - [Ability Bar Suggestion] - [Gaming Enthusiast]
Tecmaster
I tried all of the settings on all 4 of my computers and didn't notice a difference in the cpu utilization on any of them. I don't know what that option actually does to the game and since it doesn't affect my CPU usage I just run it at max. Dark_Lord
I play on a pretty low end computer I suppose... bout 6-7 years old now. When I run RS on maximum with Firefox - my CPU is a steady 99-100% usage. When I run it on Very Low with firefox - its a steady 60-61%.

DarkDude
I have mine on max and it runs at 50% CPU, dumped it down to minimum and that dropped to 35% or so. My machine isn't exactly "low-end" either :P
Tsar
I just left it at maximum. I think a Core i5 can handle Runescape at max settings mhmm The CPU usage setting would be useful for lower end machines and especially notebooks, to reduce the risk of overheating whilst running the game. I haven't tried the settings on my lappie just yet.

It seems the "Lower" I put my CPU Usage setting in RuneScape the higher my usage gets, why the hell is that when this thing is supposedly supposed to lower CPU Usage? You would want to leave it at maximum unless it completely slow's down your computer. but leave it at the middle unless it's completely bogging down your system and you can't do anything. but luckily for me, im a huge computer nerd and i've got a Quad core processor, so im pretty sure that runescape takes maybe 10% CPU usage on 1 core >.> retired 12-31-

OldJoe
Java usage while playing RS will vary, depending on the environment. May i ask what cpu you got for which you need to go and fiddle in the task manager? Lielac
I just set it to lowest. Before, my CPU hovered in high 90's to flat out 100. NOW, it's hovering around 60-90 territory, mostly 60-80. I am very, very happy :D Balance may be power, but chaos is still pretty damn fun.Canada can't be second rate, polar bears are their main mode of transportation. chc05dude
It seems like it lowers detail and response time across the board as oppose to actually throttling the CPU. On a crappy CPU it might actually increase responsiveness IMO, but it definitely doesn't feel like it throttles anything.

Sy_Accursed
Probably depends on how powerful you processor is to whether you see an effect. The max setting its probs unlimited usage, then one below is probs a cap at something like 30% usage or soemthing. So logicall better processors that use less % to run rs at max u wont not a difference Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Gandorf61
When playing standard detail in resizable screen it only reduces my CPU by around 5%. However now when I play in HD instead of using 100% of my processor it sits between 60-70% at minimum CPU and it doesn't affect my gameplay at all. Makes it a great update for me as my laptop doesn't heat up as much when playing in HD. :) Pyramid Plunder Guide Tip.it Forum Rules Adventurer's LogThanks to Cowboy14 for the awesome sig!
