Are there certain monsters one can kill that drop torstol herbs/seeds more than others?

If not, what's the best way to collect seeds/herbs?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

As far as torstol seeds ive found nechrayels drop them more so often and torstol herbs i found ancient mages to drop a few of them which is the only place ive gotten them non boss hunting.

cave horrors abby specs and daggys do drop them but nechs have a much better drop rate unless its been changed. While going for 99 slayer i was getting anywhere from 3-9 torstol seeds a nech task

I wasn't going to post in this thread, but there's some blatant misinformation.

The ring of wealth update brought about some noted Torstol drops on the rare drops table, so you could find torstol herb drops from many places. However, it isn't a frequent drop, thus it's not easy to 'farm' torstols with combat.

What mis-information?

All the seed drop info is correct.

And my comment about "virtually nothing" aside from ancient mages n boss monsters dropping torstol is perfectly true as well, not a lot does drop torstol herbs other than the boss monsters and as you covered they are rare.

What would be more correct to say is that virtually everything drops noted torstols, but as they are one of many rare drops on the new rare drop table they cannot be farmed through combat. Except ancient mages and that's inefficient.

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

There we go. A well phrased response. That saves me a bit of typing.

"Virtually nothing" implies very few monsters, yet in reality, there's many monsters who can drop noted torstols. However, noted torstols are found in many monster's droptables, it's just rare.

I'd say I have to agree with you, Nifflin.

EDIT - Hmm, my mistake. OP specifically asked about Torstol droppers that are more frequent than most of the monsters that can be found.

Meh a case of semantics.

I was only covering those that drop it enough to be considered as droppers in terms of farming; much like when people ask for herb droppers in general you don't list off the hundreds that drop herbs but not frequently or consistently.

Either way it wasn't wrong info. Ancient mages and boss monsters are the only droppers remotely worth considering using and they aren't efficient to farm from (for torstols specifically).

More efficient to do your best moneymaker and buy torstols anyway, they are at a low.

I'll just add that this wasn't my experience at all. From what I remember I got maybe one seed every four or so nech tasks. They were really rare.

+1

In 32.5m Slayer Xp I have never had more than 1 Torstol seed drop in a Nech task, personally I think 1 seed in 4 tasks is on the generous side - they are that rare. That being said, Nech's are still the most likely monster to drop seeds. I wouldn't be surprised if the previous poster got mixed up with Toadflax seeds, which are a common drop.
