Resistance
What historians will later refer to as the condemned war has been blazing for twelve long years, both factions have had there resources severely depleted and there is now often months and sometimes close to a year between battles. There are high civilian causalities and guerrilla warfare is leaving a trail of terror and destruction among towns and villages. The war is being fought between the Christian Empire, an alliance of Britain, France, Spain, Portugal, Russia and Germany and the Islamic Empire comprising of Morocco, Libya, Algeria and Egypt. In the age of war the two religious superpowers have advanced science far beyond the time. The Christian faction has created acid capable of melting steel and bone, glue with the power to withstand the power of ten horses, mirrors that can burn enemies to dust. They have perfected repeating crossbows and have medicine far superior to other countries. The Islamic faction has created machines that can store and harness the power of lightning, gliders of feather that allow the user to fly, swords that will cruise through steel like hot butter. They have perfected slingshots and bows. (Christian faction - Chemicals, etc.) (Islamic faction - Physical, solid, etc.) You are a member of one of the religious factions most prestigious mercenary’s, either 'Héros du seigneur' or 'يد الله' of the Christian and Islamic factions respectively. You have access to state of the art 1300 technology and weapons; a large funding depending on how well you perform your objectives and the ability to hire other mercenary’s to aid you in your task. You will be given tasks by the leader of your organization by letter and then will be given a period of time to prepare (in game 6 days) purchasing, planning, researching the area and such. The actual adventure will take place on Fridays in IRC; you will execute the plan in real time with the information you have. Not preparing for the adventure could prove disastrous. In your adventure, you will be able to collect money that can be used to buy things in the next adventure. The game will play more like a live battle then a dungeoneering thread; you will control individual soldiers in small scales. Guidelines Plan your attack on the opposing faction in the six days providedFind information by negotiating with corrupt members of the opposing faction. You can control five other individuals each to aid you in the attack, this will likely increase as I see fit.Control your player and attack an opposing faction in live action.Played in IRC on friday.Use stealth and intelligence to outwit your opponents, storming a castle with an army of five isn’t going to be fruitful unless you use clever tacticsORDefend your fortress, place traps and build it with the thought of invaders in mind. Draw it out in paint and use money to fund it Create a character Name:Faction: Christian or Islamic, please keep them balanced.Description:Skills: Leave blankItems: Choose either a bow with fifteen arrows, a bronze sword or a bullwhip. Please note that weapons are situational, no weapon is more powerful persay then another (unless its superior manafacture) MapsThis is an undetailed map of the warzone, I will add more maps for specific places when the invasion starts.[hide][/hide](blue = Christian, Red = Muslim) I will be holding a Q&A session today (24th July) at 00:50 GMT in IRC to answer any questions that you might have, I know the above is quite confusing. The game will start next week. If you want an IRC session later because you missed it talk to me when I'm online. Q&A = /join #Crusades1 as this was posted at a rather inactive time I will be running a newer Q&A session tommorow (25 July Monday) depending on how many people create characters and show interest. Resistance
We have two people of opposing factions which is good but I personally don't think that there is enough people to actually run the game, sorry.
Leiana
That's what you think Resistance :P It takes two to start a war. Three for possible comprimise. Four for betrayl

Nexaduro
I think this issue has been introduced and dealt with before on these forums; religious wars are not, as a premise, acceptable material for Tavern games. I could be wrong, in which case, do whatever. 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes?
