Veiva
So I'm making a video game revolving around a poem, in particular an epic. Choices the player makes affects this poem. That's the basic idea. Since this is The Gallery, here is how it looks: Here's random bits of concept stuff I've done: So I have a few questions about it! Does the art style capture your attention? Is it distinct, or dare say, unique? Would it be too bland spread over some undetermined hours of gameplay? Is the style worth the somewhat higher system requirements* based on looking at the screenshot above, and the concept art? *: System requirements are somewhere in the range of a modern processor (Core 2 Duo, Core i3/i5/i7) and a non-integrated graphics card (else you won't get multisampling, which makes it all jaggy!). For reference, I get 30 FPS on an Atom-based netbook with an ION graphics chip, 4x multisampling, which is pretty good in my opinion. That's the questions I have right now. Comments and criticism are also welcome! Thanks.
Estonian dude
It is plenty unique actually, only other title that comes to my mind using similar style would be Escape Plan on PS Vita. That concept art is lovely and the in-game screen is pretty enough to get me hooked, if the gameplay is good enough. And I don't think these req's are over the top. I think most of the people actually can run it, but maybe you could add an option for turning off the multisampling then? So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.I strike out every other week.Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.Randox pretty much stays rational.Etc, etc

I think it runs on ye olde Intel IGP on laptops with multisampling disabled. The game attempts to enable multisampling, and if that fails, disables it, so there's no problems if a graphics chip doesn't support it. It'll just look less pretty: Thanks again :). Shiny
Looks good man, style is distinctive. When's the release is my question!
Veiva
I am curious as to what people think of color: I think it's pretty nice, but I love both color and black/white. What do you think?
Shiny
Black and white
Veiva
Black and white Is it the choice of colors, or is black/white just much more appealing?
Hedgehog
They both look really nice, perhaps you could use color for happier/lighter scenes and black and white for the more serious ones.
Estonian dude
Black and white has definitely more characteristic. So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.
