Broseph Stalin
I have recently come back from a break from RS. I have a bank worth of around 130m and am saving up for dual drygores. I would like to get into Nex and KK to make cash faster and am wondering if anyone ever does Nex or KK without drygores. I have not been able to find any teams that don't looking around the forums but wanted to see what people here had to say about this.
Fire Essling
Your best option would be to mass kk with dual chaotic rapiers (or one rapier + shield for provoking)until you have money for dual drygore mace + full bandos. Note: Kalphite king is quite annoying in a mass but if you stick with it you will eventually get a split. Once you start nexing you can double your bank in a few days (2-4 hours a day) Note2: Your best bet for nexing would be to make some friends that are interested in doing the same thing because some teams are quite picky on equipment requirements Website corrections ~ Items & Shops ~ Bestiary ~ Quests ~ Maps & Calculators[spoiler=Rare Drops/Splits (Feb 2013 - ??)]
Quest_Cape_K
Nope, better option would be to learn to tank Nex.There are a few guides on youtube, you have all the stats for tanking and basic gear for tanking is ganodermic/virtus.Easily affordable with your cash pile and seems to have stabilised, you don't even need anything better than master/ahrims wand and farseer kiteshield.People are always looking for good tanks on RSOF so you will easily be able to get a team. Ambler
Buy an Ahrim's wand (around 20m?) and learn to tank Nex, you can get away with slightly worse gear (Gano), but buy a Virtus Mask at the very least. Also get a Farseer Kiteshield from Dg if you can, it beats Arcane easily.Tanking also means you're pretty much guaranteed to get into a team aswell :thumbup:Never tank Nex with Master Wand, it sucks. ;) ^^My blog of EoC PvM, lols and Therapy.^^My livestream- Currently: Offline :(Offical Harpy Therapist of the Mad[hide=Lewtations]Barrows drops: Dharok's helm x2, Guthan's helm, Ahrim's top, Hood and skirt, Torag's hammers, Karils skirt, Karil's top, Torag's helm, Verac's skirt, Verac's Flail, Dharok's Platebody.Dag kings drops: Lost count! :wall:4k+ Glacors, 7 Ragefires, 4 Steadfasts, 4 Glaivens, 400+ shards![/hide]
Quest_Cape_K
I'd highly recommend buying Virtus armour instead of Virtus wand, you only wan't to have drygore attackers who will do more than enough damage than the extra 2.5% dps increase from wand (at Nex). Broseph Stalin
Ok thanks everyone, I'm going to look into tanking Nex and see where that leads.
xpx
Well, if you already have 130m then you can just buy drygore main hand weapon and use EE as the off-hand. From the testing i've done, only main hand weapon affects accuracy and the difference in damage between the two(EE vs drygore off-hand) is negligible(428 vs 432 on same speed). Also, attacking takes much, much less skill than tanking. First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.First to 3766 Port Score on 20. March, 2014.First to 4664 Port Score on 2. March, 2015. Quest_Cape_K
Small tests show very little, do it on a large scale before using it please. It also takes a fair bit of skill and timing to get the highest DPS of the team in attacking.
Quyneax
Even if it's averaged, drygore + ee = (4957 + 1868)/2 = 3412,5 vs. the maul's 3043. 10% higher accuracy bonus (and +9 prayer as well) is pretty good. Just try bronze dagger and dry off with any boss. Accuracy for dual is same as damage used to be before the update(=only main hand). First to 99 Farming on 27.
