Just Wanna Brandish Royal Crossbow

I have tried and tried and I am not able to get to the stage where the QBD breathes extreme fire.

I have used over 50 freaking sharks, I'm not able to stay alive.

 

I just wanna brandish my Royal Crossbow, I don't care if I get a kill.

 

My stats:

85 att

82 def

88 str

86 hp

95 pray

76 mage

79 range

84 summ

 

I have tried doing melee and ranged.

Nothing seems to give me enough damage output and I die very easily.

 

Most of time spent seems to be mashing the eat shark button.

bandos top and bottom

whip and dragon def

Fury

 

For range:

Full void

Karil's crossbow

 

I have level 96 herblore

I believe drygores and bandos is the best way, but super antifire is super important! Also i'd reccomend just going crazy with rocktail soups if you want as it's just a one off

I don't have the money for drygores.  Those cost a fortune.

Do you have the smithing requirement to brandish it? You can brandish it and die, and it will still be fully constructed. I think it requires like 70 or 75 smithing.

Yeah, Void is worthless because of its low defense, and using a whip and defender won't cut it. Buy a BGS or something.

Do you have super anti fire? If not you need to use a DFS and normal anti fire or else the fire damage will be what kills you.

 

@dragen_bhev: He doesn't have the levels for Drygores, but he does for Chaotics. I'm guessing he doesn't have one however. (if you do use this)

 

Make sure you use the best melee weapon you have if you want to try melee. A Vine Whip or Korasi's Sword are going to be your best bets at your level and are both better than a normal Whip.

Also it may be better to use Barrows armor as they have higher HP and Defense than Bandos at the expense of the damage, but it may be worth it for you if you can't survive.

Agreed. QBD get's much easier after your first kill, it just takes a bit of practice. Took me probably a solid hour or two to finally brandish mine and get my first kill, with lower stats than yours.

 

Regarding the weapons: what you are using is extremely outdated. D def is almost useless anymore. At your level, assuming you don't have any dual wield chaotics, you should spare the extra couple mil and buy a BGS. It will make your damage output grow insanely!

 

Also, make sure you have a good ability bar setup, and that you are constantly running through it.

Keep a tort or a pack pig full of your best food

Deflect Ranged + Torment

Super magic potion for increased accuracy

Super def potion for increased evasion

 

Note that you should substitute supers with extremes/overloads if you have the herblore level (and if you have the level for that, super antifires so you can use 2h/offhand)

 

Avoid the souls by clicking on the ground to run through the one that screams. (Try to do it as soon as their overhead text shows up)

 

Stand to the left of the middle artefact during the fight (so you can avoid fire wall without moving if the hole is in the middle.)

If you are going the route of EoC combat, you can use any spell that is equal or higher level than your magic weapon. If you are going the legacy route, you might want to use blood spells sincethe passive effect of healing will help you if you are having a hard time staying alive. However, I wouldn't use blood spells to farm it since the cost would be too great and there are better/cheaper options available.

No need, if you are using EoC and on normal magic, the general rule is, unless you have seismics or are in DG, surge spells are a waste of runes. Air wave is as good as any other wave (you can easily confirm this via loadout screen, all waves and surges give the same damage) on QBD.

 

With Ancients it's a little more complicated, but Bloodfire burst should do (IIRC, Ice and bloodfire burst will give max damage on Abyss Wand).

Virtus Wand, Armadyl Battlestaff, Chaotic Staff ---- Air Surge

I mean..... Air Surge is cheaper than ANY wave spell except for Air Wave......

Air Wave is just fine for any Lvl 80 Weapon. As is Air Surge just fine for Seis. No need to bother w/ wasting other runes unless you feel you need to for a specific weakness.

 

I checked a few weeks ago after I got tired of buying smoke/Dust runes. Swand+Vbook combo I now use Air Surge +air Wave. As stated above, same Tier spells give the same damage and they scale to Weapon in a weird manner that isn't dependent on Spell Lvl.

I was under the impression that auto attacks are dependent on spell level though, and you may occasionally do an auto attack.

Before Legacy/not in beta, is when I looked at those. The equipment screen only showed auto Attack damage. Now, it's even easier to see the proof, since you can see auto Attack damage and base ability damage.
