-Speed kills: on average 2-5min

-Teamspeak/Skype is not required to do well (it does help though)

-Requires 4 people to start

-Eoc must be used

-You cannot tele out of an instance. The only way to get out is to lobby when you’re not being attacked. This is indicated by your adrenaline lowering while no abilities are being used.

Level Requirements:

-Overloads

-96 Summoning (can be done with war tortoise- 67 summoning)

-95 Prayer

-95 Range/Mage

-85 Defense

-Drakan’s Medallion (requires Branches of Darkmeyer completion and quest level requirements)

What to do for prayers:

-You should be on curses.

-If tanking a melee brother, protect melee.

-If not tanking a melee brother, pray mage or range based on who is on your side, Karil or Ahrims.

-Anguish/Torment

*Protect Item (also put this on for the tunnel collapse after a kill, you may die)

Gear requirements:

Ranged Mage
-asc>nox bow>death lotus darts -seis>nox staff
-serenic>pernix>death lotus -tectonic>virtus>seasinger

(Melee is not a good idea at this boss; It is tougher to survive, and you can’t attack ledged brothers)

NOTE** ROTS can be done with lower gear; but, the kills will have to be done by lowering all three brothers on each side before starting to kill. This will take more than one overload dose. Also, the longer the kill takes the more that can go wrong.

NOTE*** If using mage, you must be on the opposite side of Ahrims. This is because when Ahrims takes to the air, mage only does half the damage to him than it normally would.

Inventory set up

-Phoenix Necklaces (especially for new-timers)
-Ring of Vigor is advised for dps on last brother
-Drakan’s Medallion

-Overload

-5 Restore Flasks- Adjust based on use, and if you are tanking Verac, bring more due to prayer drain.

-Barrow Totems

-Non-Degradable Shield

-Adrenaline Pot

-2-5 Sara Brew Flasks (Make sure not to bring Brew vials due to inventory clutter)

-The rest is rocktails in inventory and yak

-Mages, don’t forget runes!!!

Ability Bar (ranged) Dual-Wield

range Bar Pic 1

-Good to have defence abilities out for adrenaline stalls

-Rocktails on bar makes it a lot easier to run and shoot

-Voke on your bar is a good idea when defense abilities are not pulled out on screen like this

Ability Bar (mage) Dual-Wield

mage Bar Pic 2

-Remember, if you’re using mage, you have to be on side opposite Ahrims because only half damage will be dealt to him in the air

- Voke on your bar is a good idea when defense abilities are not pulled out on screen like this

Instances and banking:

-Bank and gear between kills in burgh de rott reached via Drakan’s Medallion

-To get to the ROTS well, tele to barrows via the Drakan Medallion

-Everyone in the 4-man ROTS group makes instances in the well located west of the barrows tele spot using Barrows Totems until someone finds a tunnel with 2 bridges or less. This is so that during tunnel collapse, it will be a lot easier to get everyone out alive as opposed to a 3 to 4 bridge tunnel, which can easily take too much time and lead to un-needed deaths.

Bridges look like this:

bridge Pc 3

This is an example of a 2 bridge tunnel on the mini map. Bridges appear as black rectangles. (2 bridges and below are you’re good to go.)

Map orientation:

Map orientation Pic 5

Pic 5

-The left side when looking up is the always the west side and the right is always east when looking up rotations. (Which brothers are on which side.)

-Once in the kill area, the mini map actually shows north to be going   <-----------

north arrow Pic 6

pic 6 (arrow going <-----)

So, I will explain everything as if north is like the way it appears on the mini map in the picture on the west side, and vice versa for the east side.

Shadow Realm:

When you get taken to the shadow realm, you must make all six brothers run over a different hole that is lit up, they are very noticeable, to then be released back to the surface. Note that when you are in the shadow realm damage cannot be done to the bothers and it is important to get out as quick as possible. If the bothers touch you down there they will hit you constantly so keep moving. You also cannot use your ability bar in the shadow realm, so make sure to eat through inventory clicks if you need food. Also, if Karil is bombing, heal to full health before completing shadow realm. Also, SR can be a great place to lobby if necessary due to the lack of a ranged presence to attack you.

Barrows brothers break down

Areas to be aware of (same for both sides, just flopped over the middle portal area.)

Where Ahrims stands is where firehands will always be on both sides, and the blue box is their hit radius. This is assuming they are split up. If they are not, place another blue box equally opposite on the other half of the area. (Blue)

The safer areas are around the edge in (green)

Moderately safe area (orange)

High danger area (purple)

Karil:

(Red will be used to denote how to combat the specials for all brothers)

Special Attacks

-Firehands- (This is Ahrims, but the same thing applies, only Karil has black fire) Karil cannot be damaged in this state.

firehands Pic 8

pic 8

Stay on the edges of the map along the sides and back walls. Any closer than 2 steps off a wall and the firehands can hit you. If Karil and Ahrims are on opposite sides they will always firehand in the same spot like in the picture above, always on the north side in the middle of the 4 rock platform-looking-things. If Karil and Ahrims are on the same side, and one is going to firehand, it will always spawn at the north. But if both were to firehand at the same time, one can spawn on the north and one can spawn on the south, so be aware. But, in most cases, the south side is a lot safer than the north. Only go to the north if escaping from a bomb, which I will explain next or run around the back wall with a spinner. And, if you must pass through a fire hand, always use the mage ability Surge, if available.

-Bombs

Bombs look like chaotic clouds from runespan and spawn from Karil. Bombs come in sets of three on each side. Karil cannot be damaged in this state. Be careful not to stay near the middle portal during this attack; bombs from the other side, if close enough, can hurt you.

If you’re on the side Karil starts on when bombs appear, you will be initially dragged towards them. To get away, it is best to click away and surge to a safe area. The next two bombs will then appear and blow up in the location where Karil shows up, so, to dodge these, just run to the opposite side of the room because the bombs have a large explosion radius. If you’re on the side that Karil does not start on, you know a bomb will appear if you see Karil on your side and you will also then run away as far as you can. Surge highly useful during this attack.

NOTE**** You can hop to the other side of the arena by immediately clicking on the bomb as it appear and you will be teleported to the other side (that bomb with then not blow up). If you are too slow it will not let you through and you will be hit for high damage.

-On Top of the Ledges

Karil can go on top of the 2 ledges on the north and south ends of the area in between the 2 sides. He then shoots purple lighting down on the side he didn’t spawn onto those players. If players run into the lightning they will be hit for 1.5k damage several times until they run away from it. When karil is on the ledge, only the players on the lightning side can harm him.

If you stay on the back wall, this will not hit you

Ahrims:
Special Attacks

-Firehands (see Karil firehand instructions, they are the same), (Fire is orange rather than black)

-On Top of the ledges

Just like Karil, this move only affects players on the opposite side of where Ahrim spawned. Ahrim will place 8 smoke puffs that look exactly like the ones seen in Shadow Realm, only colored. Most will be purple, they will deal small constant damage to the player should they step in it. One maybe red/orange, if this is the case, if a brother steps into it, they will be healed in small constant increments.

-Takes to the air (at 45k lp ahrims will take to the air he really does not do anything in the air so no worries also cannot firehand while in air so you can go in that spot at this point if you want.

All Melee brothers:

-All the melee brothers can do a Spinning Attack and do massive damage. (2000+ per tick.) If you are put into the shadow realm by a melee brother, when you get out, make sure to run because, most of the time, that brother will start spinning right away.

The best way to get away from a spinner is to run from the initial spin and keep going along the wall. If you get stuck or there is a bomb where you are, turn towards the spinning brother and surge back through him. You will not take damage by surging through the brother and you will then have more room to work with.

-Wall-Hop-

Brothers will randomly run awkwardly away from you and chances are they are doing a wall-hop to then land on you for some high damage.

To avoid this, take a few steps away from where you were standing and he will not land on you

-Last brother left to kill-

If a melee brother is last to kill make sure the person with less adrenaline vokes the brother and if it spins keep it near your partner so they can max dps it with sunshine or death swiftness.

Torag:

Special Attacks

-Spinning Attack- (refer to all melee brothers)

-In the dirt –

You will know when you get put in the dirt when you can’t move and only your head is showing.

At this point you need to alert your teammate to come free you. Spamming @@@@ in chat usually is a good way. When they see that, your teammate must dps Torag until you are released. The only thing you can do in the dirt is eat food.

Guthans:

Special Attacks

-Spinning Attack- (refer to all melee brothers)

-Throws His Spear-

Guthans will release his spear and it will stick into the furthest player from him on the same side. This spear hits constantly on the person it spears and it has to be removed.

Removing the spear- There is 2 different techniques that are up to the one with the spear in them. 1 is voking Guthans and waiting until he pulls it out. The second method is to run next to Guthans to have him pull it out. Either way, once the person tanking Guthans is in a safe spot, they can stop moving so the other can have the option of what he/she wants to do. It is the speared person’s job to get the spear removed.

Verac:

Easiest of the brothers and it’s best to learn by tanking him!

-Spinning Attack- (refer to all melee brothers) He does do this, but not very often. At least not nearly as much as the others.

-Ties Your Soul-

There will be green arrows on the ground, if you do not run to that spot, Verac will drain your prayer at an accelerated rate. This is not a big deal if you choose to ignore it. That’s why you should have the extra restores.

-Helicopter-

On the off chance he does this he gets flipped up into the air and spins his flail like a heli blade, treat it like any other spin.

Dharoks:

Special Attacks

-Spinning Attack- (refer to all melee brothers)

-Give Me Everything-

He spawns blue lightning around himself and whatever damage you do to him at that point will be reflected back on his next attack

To make sure you do not get hurt, wait a few seconds then devotion with melee protect on and it will not hit you. Another way to block this if you do not have devotion or not enough adrenaline is to put on your shield and time a resonance. You can heal yourself instead of possibly getting ko’d.

-Passive-

The lower Dharok’s lp is, the higher his regular hits will be; so, always save him for last or you will be wasting a lot of food.

Killing Strategy:

-On all rotations Karil should be killed asap; both teammates on his side should work on him when he is there.

-Kd=Karil dead, this means that Karil has been slain on his spawn side and it is now time to kill off all the brothers. I will give the order to kill the brothers later on

-If Dharok and Ahrims are on the opposite side, I would leave them at 50k lp until the end if both players on that side saved their adrenaline. 100% adrenaline+vigor+adrenaline pot can do enough dps in 45 seconds, so long as they kill Ahrims first and Dharok last.

-There is a timer on top of all the dead brother’s heads after they been killed. All will respawn with 25k lp if another brother from either side is not killed within that 45 second window. If they respawn the kill is not lost; but, the kill order will have to begin again starting with Karil.

-The two players that are not on the side of Karil should have 2 brothers low by the time KD is called. Keeping them around 5k is fine until it comes time to kill them. Once again this changes when Ahrim and Dharok are on that same side.

- On the side with Karil, when Karil is not around, try to dps one of the others on your side until you can attack Karil again. This will ensure an easier effort killing the other brothers come kill time.

- It is always best to split up the melee brothers, one player takes one, and one takes the other. If there are 3 melee brothers on one side then make sure the one with Torag is by themself so they do not get dirted and spun on by another melee brother.

- Be a team! If it’s DVG, have the one person voke Verac so the guy who’s speared doesn’t have worry about Dharok spinning on him when he’s trying to take it out.

-After each brother is killed all others still alive will add 5k to their life points.

-Another helpful hint: If Ahrims and Dharok are split up and you are on Ahrims’ side, after your team has reached KD, go to Ahrims and up him into the air by lowering his lp to 45k. Then, go back to your second guy. This way Ahrims is ready to be dpsed 50k when you are done with your second without worrying about firehands or going to the ledge.

Kill Orders and Rotations on next page

These are the kill orders for the various rotations which brothers to kill in order on each side of the map

Note****** karil is to be killed first on every rotation even if you’re ready to kill your side wait till they say kd or the kill will end up having a lot of unnecessary problems. Also you can tell if a brother is killed when you see a little shadow burst come from the bottoms of the brothers.

Rotations for the day can be found by googling rise of the six rotation, it’s the first link.

-I written the first letter of the brother’s name you should kill in order once Karil is dead -these are not set in stone but it can make the kills a lot simpler if you have a baseline to go off of.
-Some teams do it differently, everyone has their own opinions

Ktd-gva

Kgd-tva

Kvd-tga

Kad-tgv

Ktv-agd

Kgv-atd

Kva-tgd

Ktg-avd

Kga-tvd

The easier rotations are when Karil and Dharok are on the same side so you have time to dps Dharok 50k

They are the same concept when they are on the other side. Didn’t want to waste time writing them all the other way around.

Tunnel Collapse:

-After you get the kill make sure everyone loots the chest, then stand where the second purple force field normally is. If you pass this, then the tunnel will start collapsing. So, once all are ready, start running back through the tunnel.

tunnel collapse minimap Pic 9

Pic 9

-You will notice when you get to the bridge that they are now broken.

-There are 2 ways to cross. There is a ledge on the side and either a vine or a platform in the middle.

-If you are the last one to the bridge, you take the middle jump (the vine or platform), because that is faster than taking the ledge and you need to catch up and get out before the timer hits 0. Team mates should also note whether or not they ahead of others and take the ledge to let those behind them catch up.

-If the timer hits 0 rocks start to fall and you will take consistent high damage, so start spam eating while continuing to run back out to the rope you came in on.

-Note: If you die during tunnel collapse, you will lose the energies that you received for that kill because they are unstable. If you make it out then the energies become stable and can be sold. Also you may bring them in for another kill because they will stay stable. Deaths can occur even on a 2 bridge tunnel, so having Protect Item on is advised.

Lobby Techniques

-If the kill is lost or someone dies early in the kill and you want to try to exit, you have to lobby.

-Teleporting is not an option as it won’t let you once in a tunnel

-One option is killing off your side before all the brothers come over and then lobby

-You can kill only Karil and or Ahrims so mage and range shots do not hit you and run then around the edge of the map from the melee guys to then lobby

-Running from the brothers in shadow realm is the easiest way to lobby

-Remember that if no one is on the other side the other three brothers will come to your side as well. To avoid this when trying to lobby, if you kill a brother that will prevent the other three brothers from joining your side and making it much more difficult to lobby.

Trios:

-There will be times when someone dies and the three left over may try to salvage the kill.

-If most of the brothers are ready to kill then the person that is by themselves needs to “hop” over to the other side with the other 2. This is done by entering a bomb as soon as it appears and it will teleport you to the other side. Note: If the person that is alone is dirted by Torag, the others to need to come to him and free him.

-Once on the same side, your team must wait until all 6 brothers come to the same side before killing any brothers or the 3 will stay on the side with no one there and the kill will be lost.

-Once all brothers are on the same side, pick off Karil and then try to kill the ones with the lower lp, preferably Torag and then Guthans, but things can always change.

-It helps if someone calls out the first letter of who to kill so everyone is on the same page.

-It is important on a trio to watch for Dharok. If he is last or second to last to die, time it after the “give me everything” to attack him or he may do that in the middle of trying to kill him and you will not have enough time to dps him to death.

Helpful Tip: If karil bombs on a trio when all are on same side, a six bomb set will appear. To combat this, all can take turns hopping into the bombs and they will not blow up.

Thank you for reading my guide. Hopefully it was helpful for you. PM me for any other questions you have.
