VIP Q&A Answers-October

Jagex did a Q&A in the VIP forum, Will post Q&A here.

                                                                                 Development Questions

Will Araxxor get another drop buff seeing as its unique drops have dropped in price and are generally not very sought after due to pre-existing weapons of the same tier?

Mod Chris L: We've no further plans to update Araxxor's drop table at this time.

Hiya, can we have a search function in the quests page in game?

Mod Osborne: We have a raft of changes that we would love to make to the quest list, but it's further down the list. Your idea is a good one, though.

Bank Organization presets? I have a hard time deciding how I want my tabs to go, and would love a preset to just sort out my items for me once so I can stop having a bad time.

Mod Tim: This is a topic that has come up a few times in our brainstorms. Unfortunately it's technically quite difficult to achieve and would therefore take a lot of our development time away from other projects.

Let us use the coloured eggs reward from Barbarian Assault to recolor drygores (and maybe even asc/seis/nox)

Mod Tim: Seems like a nice idea. Whilst we have no plans at the moment to add more rewards to Barbarian Assault assault, maybe it could be a reward for something else (existing or new). We shall have to keep this in mind!

Is there any chance for Postie Pete to get a bigger role in the game? He's such a nice guy.

Mod Osborne: I miss Postbag from the Hedge so much. If only it was quicker to write and make, I think I would do it again in a heartbeat. I want to take Postie Pete to Prifddinas and have him chat to Seren.

Speaking of Postie Pete, will we ever get a quest that explorers the Pete family?

Mod Osborne: Poor Postie and the other Petes just aren't as central to the game as they once were! With the lack of Postbags and random events, you have to say they are taking a backseat. That might be a fun premise for a quest - how are they dealing with being sidelined? That's not a quest we're working on, but it is nice

Will we see more boss content like Vorago in the future? While it may be played by a small portion of the community, it's absolutely the most enjoyable content in terms of group play with strategy involved.

Mod Chris L: Most likely yes, we are currently discussing the next boss/PvM offering

Will we ever see a completionist interface for ""completing the game""?

Mod Osborne: We add more things to 'complete' in the game every week, so players would see this so often! I prefer the idea that players can control when they show off their completionism with the completionist cape.

Can we expect to see skill cape hoods get attached to the capes as well just like max & comp capes?

Mod Ana: We are planning to add this along with the skillcape rework.

Will there ever be a convenient method of accessing your familiars inventory instead of having to deal with a dodgy interface that closes due to combat? Say I'm fighting Graardor with fast spawns on and I'd like to take out just a few brews instead of filling all of my empty slots, I can't do that because the interface keeps closing due to everything.

Mod Ana: This is simply due to the way our engine works - you can either be in combat or you can have this type of interface open - not both. It's very unlikely we will be able to change this in the near future.

Will we ever see Kudos Island?

Mod Osborne: I'd encourage you to get on the Future Updates forums, as Mod Rowley is canvassing opinions on whether you would be interested in going to Kudos Island (also known as Fossil Island) in the Player Owned Ports.

Will Runescape ever had a colour blind mode?

Mod Tim: Whenever we create new content we always endeavour to design with a mind to colour blindness (i.e. if we use colour to distinguish between different options, we provide other visual clues like shape or text to show the difference). Unfortunately, it would be tricky to retroactively implement something game-wide.

It's been a very very very long since Trouble Brewing was updated, yet some minigames have been reworked but not this one, do you guys have a plan specifically for this?

Mod Tim: No plans at the moment. The challenge we have is that some of the older mini-game will require a fair amount of TLC. We need to balance the work required versus the amount of people likely to play.

Has the clue rework for rs3 been forgotten? It was polled in february, I believe

Mod Tim: Certainly not forgotten! We have the bulk of the work in place so hopefully we can release this soon.

Can the enchanted hydrix jewelry passives get a buff? After some analysis it shows that their effects are pretty much negligible specially compared to other jewelry like leviathan/vigour rings. For something that degrades, they are seriously lacking. / Can you change the Hydrix jewelry so it doesn't degrade to dust as it currently seems ""off"" compared to the rest of the items in the game as it's a degrade to dust item that can be repaired.

Mod Ana: We feel that the hydrix jewellery is currently as effective as it should be. As always we will keep an eye on player feedback and look to make changes in the future if needed.

Will there be another 'God War' in the near future? Or are those all done for now?

Mod Osborne: I assume you are talking about the events like Bird and the Beast and Battle of Lumbridge. There is a lot that we like about those events, and I imagine us doing something similar in the future, with changes. I'm interested in a cooperative world event - that would be pretty cool.

A while ago, on a podcast or something, it was said there are other resource dungeons for 100+. If this is true, any hints on what they might be and when we might see one?

Mod Osborne: There will be a resource dungeon at level 115! This will be in Batch 2 of the Elf City, and will house a new slayer creature, plus a motherlode mine - which will give you one rare item per day. Some of these items will even aid you with getting completionist and trimmed completionist cape.

What will the new drops be from the new slayer creatures @ the resource dungeon of elf city? as I heard some people say they were going to drop hexhunter bow etc

Mod Osborne: The only clue we have given is that they will be an item from within Dungeoneering. I can't say too much, but I can reveal that it will not be a hexhunter bow. I still think you'll like it, though.

How do you think Attuned Crystal gear will work out in comparison with other elite tier (80+) weapons and shields?

Mod Osborne: I think it will be a strong welfare choice. It will be more widely available than other level 80 options, but it will degrade to dust, making it somewhat short-term.

What is the current ETA, if any are able to be made, on the next non-holiday quest?

Mod Osborne: You know what - while the Halloween Quest is coming out at Halloween, you can't dismiss it as a holiday quest. It is substantial, lore heavy and is trying things that we have never tried in RS. That is out in October, and I think you will really like it.

What is the ETA on World Event 3? Are there any plans for World Event 4 ?

Mod Osborne: We haven't abandoned the notion of another World Event. We have ideas for something very different from the first two, with different dynamics. No doubt it will filter into Player Power at some point in the future.

When will we see Nomad again?

Mod Osborne: You can't leave Nomad as we have left him at the end of Nomad's Requiem! He has to play a part in our future.

Have you got any plans for the 200th quest at the moment, or is it too soon to ask about that?

Mod Osborne: We have an idea that absolutely everyone in the team loves. It's nostalgic, celebratory and has a similar feel to Recipe for Disaster. Basically, we're so happy with it that we are not going to poll the theme, but you will see a poll based on it very soon.

Are there any plans to release Floor 61 in Daemonheim?

Mod Osborne: We certainly want to! There are no immediate plans, and the Zamorak Heist quest will unfortunately not include floor 61. From my perspective, it sits just below the Myreque as my most wanted continuation quest.

When will Menaphos be opened?

Mod Osborne: I think we're going to let Prifddinas finish first, before we even think about another city. Menaphos is high on the list of cities I would like to do personally, but I imagine you would want us to do justice to the area and not launch it without careful thought and the right amount of resources.

Are there any plans to redesign the 99 skill capes still with the addition of expert capes?

Mod Ana: Yes - we ran a poll earlier in the year and players chose to rework the 99 skillcapes. We are going to run another poll so players can decide which design they like.

Will you start working on Invention after the full release of Elf City?

Mod Osborne: Over the coming year, I think you will find us talking more about Invention. This is something that I imagine being a Player Power topic.

When can we expect to see the new Inventor skill next year? Or will it be another skill completely?

Mod Osborne: It will almost definitely be up to you. It will likely be something to do with Player Power.

If you could snap your fingers and add anything to the game what would you add?

Mod Osborne: A completely replayable quest system! With raids. Plus a Dungeoneering for quests. And the ability for players to make their own quests.

Was the 'expert skillcapes' update the skillcape rework we voted on earlier this year?

Mod Ana: No, this was a separate update. We are going to be running another poll for the 99 skillcape update so players can decide which design they like.

How is the church of you update coming along?

Mod Osborne: Sometimes we get enthusiastic about updates and want to pitch them to you at Runefest. Sometimes those pitches, for whatever reason, don't get made immediately into updates. Don't worry, we like the idea, and it may wiggle its way on to Player Power at some point.

Are you guys planning to try and wrap up any more longstanding quest series next year?

Mod Osborne: That will be up to you in the polls! Even so, I can't think of many quest series that are only one quest away from completion - the pirates and perhaps the gnomes are the only examples I can think of. Basically, I don't know yet!

Do you know how many parts are left to the Elemental workshop quest line?

Mod Osborne: Yes. It was tempting to leave it at that! There are more than three, as per the developer's original notes!

What new skill would you like to see in-game? You can't say Inventor

Mod Osborne: Shapeshifting. I'd make an awesome giant honey badger.

Will it ever be possible to have a multi-god world event, where it's not a 1v1 but rather either some gods team up or a massive free for all where you can choose a god to fight various gods at the same time?

Mod Osborne: It is certainly possible! I like the idea of a god team-up battle. For the moment, we're working our way up to events of that magnitude.

Will we be seeing more of our medieval roots or have we moved on in time and now purely a fantasy era in this new age of Runescape?

Mod Osborne: What an interesting question! I would argue that RS has never been purely medieval, although I could see an argument that, through god magic and tech, we have moved further out of medieval themes. I think our story is so varied that we can have more medieval themed quests - things like the Sir Owen series would fit this well.

In the beginning of the year, you said you would try to hit at least ten quests this year, based off how things are going, it looks like there will be seven. Are you content with this amount, or will you aim for more next year?

Mod Osborne: As a narrative designer, I would never say no to more quests! But there are so many different priorities, and so many different desires from other players. I think the standard of quests this year has been (and will continue to be) awesome, and the Elf City etc have still offered fantastic things for questers to do.

When will we see some new Godless content that doesn't go with World events

Mod Osborne: I would love to do story content for the Godless, and I think it's very likely in the future. Expect to see something in future Player Power polls.

How many days does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?

Mod Osborne: The centre of a tootsie pop is the length of one tootsie from its circumference. It's where the tootsie roll gets its name. I believe the equation you are looking for is Speed = Distance/Tootsie.

Why are Mod Osborne & Mod Ana so awesome?

Mod Osborne: We complete an Awesome Obstacle Course every morning and then have a bowl of Fabulous Flakes. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be awesome from morning to bedtime.

Mod Ana: Personally I like to do the obstacle course twice a day. Keeps me on my toes :).

Any idea when we'll be getting another entry in the penguin series?

Mod Osborne: It's not planned just yet. There's a thread on the Future Updates forum where we talk about potentially going to Acheron with the Player Owned Ports, but otherwise the penguins are a little sleepy. They won't stay that way forever, of course!

After the Elf City is released will there be any updates in the direction of Dark Elves.. or anything?

Mod Osborne: The Iorwerth and the Dark Elves are not done. I'm imagining Seren stories and the release of Seren spells and prayers. But that's not right now, I'm afraid.

When should I sell my wand?

Mod Osborne: Not yet. Wait for it...no, still not yet...almost ready...sell sell sell!

Seeing as there hasn't been an early bird reward for content in a long time raises the question: Has early bird been scrapped?

Mod Osborne: Not at all! There just hasn't been content that worked as early bird. I believe Elder Divination was the last one, and that wasn't too long ago.

When will the quest which involves Armadyl's home world come out?

Mod Osborne: Ah, Rite of Passage! I love this design. It's a fantastic notion for a quest. The only thing that has held this quest back has been its cost - it requires us to create an entirely new world for you to explore, which is no mean feat. Still, there is so much love for it in the office that I can't help but think it will be made soon.

Will ironman accounts be able to purchase Gold Membership for 2015 through bonds?

Mod Pips: We’ve not confirmed any future Premier Club offer, but we will try to make all membership packages available to ironman players

                                                                                            Community Management Questions

Will there be any sneak-peaks in VIP forums about future updates?

Mod Kalaya: There might be some - there aren't any plans at the moment to do so, but you never know what will change in the future!

Can we see more Runescape 3 Developer twitch streams similar to those of Old School? ie one evening a group of developers sit down and discuss a potential update or topic to circulate ideas.

Mod James P: The ultimate goal is to have a developer Q&A each week for the live game. The core team of jmods is still being put together to make sure the stream is both reliable and entertaining. We would then like to bring in a jmod each weak relevant to the upcoming game update for discussion, feedback etc.

We have been stepping towards this over the last few months with live livestream previews on new content. For example we have had Elf City, Ironman, Treasure Trails and Summoning Ai all within the last two weeks.

After Runefest you should start seeing a similar amount of content on twitch.tv for both live and oldschool versions of the game.

Have you considered a weekendly event for minigame rotation with extra perks?

Mod Kalaya: It's been considered, though it's something I want to push more for in the future. On the radar!

The amount of time and effort that has been put into the community this year is very commendable and something that was nice to see. That said, what are some plans that Jagex may have to continue improving the community? Are there any community centered goals that you are striving towards?

Mod Balance: Firstly, thank you! Not only has the Community Team been working exceptionally hard, the rest of the RuneScape team have also had a renewed focus on the community and we think we are in a good place right now. We always want to continue to improve the community; we are focussed on delivering more in-game events, a greater focus on community-driven development and updates, and more interaction with players from the whole RuneScape team.

I would say that our primary objective is to listen to you, and communicate with you. The RuneScape Team want to continue to put power in the hands of the players, allowing you to shape your game – you’ll see more of this as we announce some really ground-breaking changes.

Which suggestions do you view? How much weight do you give to what is actually said/Do you mostly care about quantity of support?

Mod Balance: Mod Balance: We tend to focus our efforts on different areas depending on what we can deliver – for example, if we have space for a large update then we’ll be on the lookout for large scale suggestions, or if we have a small space in development then we’ll focus on smaller suggestions. Every time we release new content, we produce a report for the developers to review; this contains a summary of player feedback on the forums, social media, videos, as well as fansites and the like. In these reports, we analyse your favourite bits and suggestions for improvements and then feed that back to those who worked on the project.

When we’re looking at game suggestions we tend to pay the most attention to the suggestion itself, a suggestion which says “add dragons here” is less likely to be seen favourably than a suggestion which says “add dragons here because it will help X, and whilst it might cause problems for Y – this is how you get around it”.

A lot of support for a suggestion is a good thing, but it’s only confirmation for something we already know would be a good update. A suggestion doesn’t get implemented just because it has a long list of supporters – it has to be great too!

My team and I at RuneHQ have noticed a decrease in our forum activity this year, any tips to increase it? I'm asking this here because people are always posting on the Runescape Forums- What can we do to help them stay?

Mod Balance: Mod Balance: It’s great to hear from one of our fansites! You guys do a great job (I use RuneHQ for any skill calculators I need!). In order to increase your forum activity I would suggest asking your community some questions – start a debate, or ask for their feedback on some suggestions for the game or for your website. Perhaps you could encourage your community to collaborate on designing a quest or minigame!

We’d also encourage fansites to run competitions on their forums and websites (as well as social media) – if you let the Community Team know what you want to do, I’m certain we can help you and perhaps offer some prizes too!

Can we have a 100% dedicated JAGeX staff member for clans (/CLF) please?

Mod Matthe: We already have 3 Jagex staff who work on clans – Mod Moltare who is Clan Designer, Mod Maz who is Clan Curator and Mod MattHe who is Clan Community Curator. We don’t develop content with any one individual being devoted 100% to a single facet of the game; we operate in a series of what we call scrum teams who work on projects in segmented bursts of development time called sprints, a reasonably common form of development in the games industry. This means that our designers and developers are expected to hop between focuses as the next thing that needs developing by their team comes down the track. Therefore, given designer, developer, artist and QA resource move project by project, a single individual dedicated in that way would not be helpful to ensuring content or improvements are released for that area of the game, and may in fact hinder such updates in the long run.

I'm polish player like hundreds of others. We can freely swear in our language, and I have never seen someone muted. Are you going to do something or leave it like it is now?

Mod Kalaya: As Polish isn't a language we support, we don't have anyone that speaks the language. Therefore, it's more difficult to moderate. If it was a supported language then this would be something we would look into, but until that point it's difficult to change the process.

Did you only create this subforum because the end of the year is near and you want to make players think that you care and keep your promises since you offer us some bs Q&A in the end? Is that supposed to make more people buy VIP next year?

Mod Kalaya: Nope! We created this subforum because we had promised VIP Q&A's, and the first one or two hadn't gone well. We were working out the best way to do the Q&A's sensibly, and having a new forum was the way we decided. It was a lot of work, so it hadn't been done until I joined the team and had the time to set it all up.

Will this forum stay for us that bought gold for 2014 then a new forum for comming gold members 2015 or they will be added here? or this forum will be removed and there will be a new one for people that buy gold in 2015?

Mod Kalaya: If the Gold Premier package offers a new forum for 2015, then it will be a brand new forum created for players who buy the next package. We'll likely leave this forum up for a few months but it will be removed eventually.

Is this going to be replacing the in-game Q&A's entirely? I certainly hope so. There really isn't any persistent record for them (and also a lot less chat spam to deal with), and it's not practical to always be on when they're being held. This is a much more flexible and usable format for holding them for everyone involved.

Mod Kalaya: Yes. We all realised how well the in-game Q&A's didn't go :)

Can we get a little notification if a JMod has responded on a thread so it is easier to navigate to the specific post?

Mod Kalaya: We want this too! Hopefully it's something that can be implemented in the future, though there aren't any solid plans at the moment.

I have some pictures that I took with my Occulus orb from WE1, can there be a Forum thread where people share screenshots or something of that sort?

Mod Kalaya: Bringing screenshots onto the forums is something that can be difficult to implement. Whilst this would be a wonderful thing to see, we have to think about all the other images people could then post on the forums - mainly inappropriate. For this reason, it's unlikely a thread would be added to share photos, at least for the immediate future.

Why are the last 2 days of the raffle the bank deposit, and death touched darts; rather then 100m and golden godswords? I found this info in the Balthazar's Big Raffle entry in the J-mod-written mainsite Gameguide wiki.

Mod Kalaya: The last days of the raffle was the 100m and golden godswords; apparently the wiki was WRONG D:

                                                                                                    Power to the Players Questions

After Elf City, will you consider polling whether people want a new skill (Inventor/other) to be worked on, or reworks of old skills as the next big dragonstone poll.
Mod Kelpie: We are certainly considering these options, as well as many others. Besides that, I have no further details to give you at this time.

Can we expect to see any polls soon regarding content for 2015?
Mod Kelpie: We have already started polling 2015 content with the recent Ports and Quest polls.

Is there a possibility of seeing a threshold vote limit like the system that exists in oldschool where 75% responses need to be positive to pass?
Mod Kelpie: We have added thresholds to some polls in the past. Legacy and skillcape reworks come to mind. This only really works if the poll is a yes or no question. We often have 3 or 4 options in a poll. So I think we will use these from time to time, but we don't intend to switch over to the oldschool system.

Is the skiller's boss still going to be released?
Mod Kelpie: Right now we have no plans to develop a skilling boss. This doesn't mean we are against doing so in the future. As of right now nobody has brought forward a compelling design for such a boss. The main issue is where is the risk? It is hard to come up with something that isn't essentially a larger evil tree. So if you have any great ideas, I urge you to share them on the forums!

How efficient was using the ""Power to the Players"" model of choosing content this year? Will it be something that will be continued?
Mod Kelpie: It is certainly something that we shall continue with. We recently ran a player survey to get feedback on the polls and the general response was very positive. There have of course been some issues over the year, but we feel it is a very valuable part of our development process and we shall continue trying to strengthen it.

Reaction surveys are good filler content for no-poll times. What other small plans do you have to make Player Power more active, besides deciding content?
Mod Kelpie: We have some plans, but I'm afraid we aren't ready to share these with you just yet.

Do you plan to keep the in-game polls around next year?
Mod Kelpie: Certainly! Player Power is as strong as ever and we think we are releasing better updates because of it.

For the next big project, do you plan to put it in another poll, or will it be Inventor, as previously stated?
Mod Kelpie: I cannot guarantee anything, but I think it will very likely be polled.

could the future Power to the Player polls please *depending on update* have an *all of the above* option, as it would show that the players agree with all ideas and are generally giving you permission to choose yourselves, aslong as you eventually do them all (monster graphical update for example).
Mod Kelpie: Nope, sorry! We don't include options on a poll that wouldn't want to do. So often the question is what do we work on first? The other ideas aren't then scrapped. You will likely see these options appear in later polls or perhaps we will go ahead and do them anyway.

                                                                                          Solomon's Questions

Is there any plans to sell bank boosters in bulk, like keepsakes?
Mod Sayln: Not at the moment, we don’t feel there any need to bundle them together. You may need to buy further keys once you’ve decided to un-keepsake something, so a bundle options makes sense for mass purchasing, whereas once you’ve bought a bank booster, you don’t need to keep buying them en masse!

Will we be able to put our pets in the pet interface anytime soon? So we can just summon them whenever?
Mod Sayln: This is something that we’ve been looking into, and we have something similar to this currently in motion. Hopefully we’ll be able to share more with you soon. J

Also can you introduce something that will help tidy up your bank & sort it into food/potions etc, I'd actually purchase that on Solomons, I'm far too lazy literally my bank is worse than my bedroom at home!
Mod Sayln: This would be difficult – obviously everyone likes their bank set up differently to their own personal play style, so creating a tool that gives you such a massive range of sorting options could be tricky, but it’s a good idea, and something worth us considering!

When can we expect to see more colours to choose from when wearing overrides from Solomons?
Mod Sayln: Another thing we really want to get out to you guys, but we need to ensure we don’t run into any engine or dev trouble along the way. It’s on our radar!

There is a head-butt Mining animation, but there is no head-butt Smithing animation. What's up with that?
Mod Sayln: Unfortunately, Geilinorians haven’t managed to attain the right skills to masterfully craft metallic bars into useable armour or weaponry by using just their head yet. It’s a lot trickier than just smashing ore out of a rock! That’s not to say that we won’t master the art in the near future (as well as trying to cure a LOT of migraines…)

Thanks for this!

Major things I noticed:

  • Inventor is not a sure thing, and there'll be polls on the subject.
  • Skillcape rework is still in the works (yesss)
  • 200th quest should be a doozy
  • We're decently likely to get Seren prayers/spells in the future
  • They're still thinking about the rotating minigame incentive idea

Obtained quest cape and base 92 before obtaining any 99s! Currently finishing out my 99s with the (long-distant) goal of comp cape.

Yea, like usual there's a whole lot of inconclusive and waffling answers, but there is some info buried in there.

Mod Tim: No plans at the moment. The challenge we have is that some of the older mini-game will require a fair amount of TLC. We need to balance the work required versus the amount of people likely to play.

Just move the damn thing to Musa Point and make it accessible by all! Dear god I've explained this on a monthly basis to those clowns!

Is the skiller's boss still going to be released?

Minus the part last year they said "Yes we are going to build one in 2014", and then we get another T90 Vorago/KK/Arax/etc-max-only boss.

Would it be too much to ask just to remove some of the old mini-games that no one uses and Jagex admittedly doesn't see any hope in to attempt a revival? I know this has been asked to Jagex before and they responded that they didn't want to remove previous employee's work. Evidently they don't care that much.

I don't know exactly what that would accomplish :P.  Most of them get at least a few people who want to play at times, and imagine the complaints..

Soooo, except for batch 2 of Elf City, there isn't really divulged information for content planned out at all.

I don't know how to feel about this.

Sometimes its how you perceive things that matters most.

Soooo, except for batch 2 of Elf City, there isn't really divulged information for content planned out at all.

I don't know how to feel about this.

Sometimes its how you perceive things that matters most.

There's lots of stuff people really want, and it's just being shelved for indefinite amounts of time, quests and skill reworks in particular. Those are what people really really want, next to hyped stuff like church of you, revival of old minigames, world events that were promised and so on. But we know those are not in the works, nor do we know anything about some kind of content they are working on.

Reading all the stuff the past few months of what JMods say, they only seem to have 'Elf City' as content to mention. Next november that's being pushed out, with some extras as tasks coming out later. What's the other worthwhile content that'll come next? They will 'let the community decide' through the PttP polls. They don't plan ahead, they just do something.

Something small, with a tight budget so even adding dialogue, voice acting or adding some new graphics are "all outside the budget". Everythings seems so packaged these days concerning updates at Jagex. Stuff like the minimap icons had to be done in one day because the team only had one day access to some kind of design artist.

While the uncontrolled moneyflow of the past years (8realms, MechScape, StellarDawn, FunOrb, even HTML5) has been halted, a too tight budget for projects makes a lot of content feel unfinished. Look at the ports update: we got no extra options to building because all the graphics design went to the three new adventures (and the hunter's moustache apparently), even though all the buildings had an extra floor build in in the initial update to allow extra content build in.

The above Q&A is filled with the same stuff: "too big on budget", "not on the top of our list" and so on.

Inventor, an update that was promised to be released in 2013 is not even in development, it may not even be made, same with Abbinah.

Citadels from clans are left to rot, the overseer of the citadels project has left his seat and all promised (and much needed) changes are 'gone' as the next overseer doesn't know/bother with it.

But hey, we'll get a new Vorago rotation for those 200 persons who regulary kill him.

All I am trying to say: the development team is drifting on a sea full of awesome ideas, and instead of going fishing and make some good meals out of these ideas/fishes, they are just catching random seagulls and burn them on the bonfire on the middle of their wooden boat.

I still love this game, and I know their team is capable of awesome content, their direction and handling of projects is far from desirable.

I agree, they seriously need a wakeup call.

As a player with power I present my answer as a player power poll. Power to the player!

A) Vote this answer because I think power to the player voting is awesome!

B) Im a power vote for deciding the only confirmed elf city content coming next month or so.

C) I am a answer that needs validation by being voted on because im unsure about myself.

C) Im vague. Vote me for future mysterious unknown content on a unknown date.

D) Im sorry but this answer is on the tip of my tongue but dont have enough of a budget to speak it.

E) This response would loved to be polled in a power to the player poll! (Coming 2015)

F) Im a generic vote voting on which type cookie a jmod loves to eat.

Seriously... Was what I read a QnA or just a forewarning of upcoming power to the player polls? Like.. Idk.. Far too much talk about player to the polls imo. Do they think I am a poll dancer?

This company is so warped with how they try to speak with their customers imo. Its puzzling to me and makes me feel very uncertain they have any plans on anything. Its scary that they present a QnA essentially telling us that nothing is in development because they havnt done a poll yet. Now I presume they do have things in development..but the other issue is they keep pointing out they dont have budgets and a big amount of content that has come out in the past has seemed 'odd' due to not being seemingly finished.

I think its time they mobbed up this nonsense and tried an alternate approach. This QnA is ridiculous c'mon jagex. I cant take it seriously...at best it depresses me for the future of the game purely due to that QnA.

I suppose I can expect more of this nonsense at runefest too. >.> Question is how much is it ganna be multiplied based on what they spoke about from previous year. Of which I fully expect I get to watch a show where they repeatedly speak about power to the player. Its cute when used in moderation..but damn annoying when its the explicit answer to any question.

Well, I think part of the issue with the Q&A over others, is that this was a lot less structured. Usually Jagex does Q&As with teams that at least have things they can discuss. This one however was just basically a thread on VIP forums saying to post your questions. Then Mod Kalaya went around asking them trying to get as many answers as she can. It makes sense that many of the things discussed either aren't in development, or they have plans to poll them later. Plus, with Runefest coming up I have a feeling there are several things on the dev table that they want to introduce at Runefest and thus would have to be kind of vague on it or ignore those questions. There have been some announcements with the dev blogs in future updates about whats being worked on.

To be honest, after the disaster that was the in-game Q&As, I had pretty much written them off. So, was surprised to get any at all.

All in-game events are an epic failure mainly due to the fact there are far too many anytime they happen, and all anyone gets out of it is massive lag. So I can understand why they don't do them anymore (the in-game Q and A). I mean what are they supposed to do? Answer whatever questions out of a sea of spam only for their answer to instantly get flooded? In-game Q and A's were a bad idea.
