Leik
I'm actually really disappointed Fishing wasn't included in the Elf City. It's one of the few skills that desperately needed a new training method. I would have much preferred Seren stones for Fishing, rather than for Mining. At least for Mining we have LRC and Warbands as very good training methods, whereas the best one for Fishing is c2s, which very few people can stand to do for a long period of time. Apart from that we have rocktails (stupidly slow) and a mediocre method in barb fishing. LIVERPOOL WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON. Sy_Accursed
Not surprised really - Guthix Caches was supposed to be first week of november and since they made a point of mentioning it in BTS it kinda suggested week 1 was now an empty space but they wanted to make it clear they did have a plan for it. Plus the careful wording of elf city being the first update of the month, without referencing a time period. Saradomin_Mage
[bleep] YES NO ELF CITY NO PRESSURE TO DO COMP REQS Also I think the limitation with their character models is that they're running 128x128 textures instead of 512x512 textures. Mod Labl was complaining about that for the godswords. Not to mention the incredibly angular, low-poly base models anyway. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers. essiw
^hoping that gets changed when html5 comes out, also the darn long "loading please wait" times for mac because java (and flash) for mac is crap... It is always sad to see that windows computers with really terrible specs do a better job at these games than my mac with average stats... I just wonder if they have to redo all the graphics for html5, does anyone know that? http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. Urza285
Previous Elf City Batch II reddit transcripted: Ithell - Crafting and Construction A. Crystal Harps - Click on a Crystal Harp to start playing it. - Continually gain Crafiting XP and Stackable Harmonic Dust. - Requires 75 Crafting but higher crafting levels increases the rate at which Crafting XP and Harmonic Dust is gained. - While playing Harps gradually go out of tune, decreasing the rate at which XP and Harmonic Dust is gained until it eventually drops to 0. The player can interact with the Harp to retune it. B. Crystal Singing - Combine Crystal Seeds with Harmonic Dust using the Crystal-Singing bowl in the Ithell Middle Circle to create Crystal Equipment. - Can also be used to recharge existing Crystal Equipment (except Attuned Weaponry) - Recharge Dust cost decreases with higher Smithing levels. - When out of charges Crystal Equipment revert to the type of Crystal Seed they were created from. You can use this seed to recreate crystal equipment (Attuned Weapons degrade to dust). C. Crystal Equipment - NPC - Stores any number of crystal seeds. - NPC - Trade a Dragon Pickaxe/Dragon Hatchet and a number of crystal seeds to gain a Crystal Pickaxe/Hatchet. - Non-degradeable and addable to toolbelt. - x2 chance of getting golden/strange rocks from Seren Stones/Crystal Trees. - 70 Attack to wield, 71 Woodcutting/Mining to use. - Pickaxe: Chance of gaining more corrupted ore from Seren Stones. - Hatchet: Chance of gaining cleaning crystals from Crystal Trees. D. Smithing Level for Equipment - 75 Smithing for Normal Combat Weaponry (level 70 Equipment) - 80 Smithing for Crystal Tools (Crystal Saw, Fletching Knife, Tinderbox, Hammer, Chisel). Can make items +5 of level, degrades after 28 uses. x2 chance of getting golden/strange rocks (stacks with Voice of Seren) - 85 Smithing for Crystal Teleports. Like existing crystal teleports (8 Clans/Lletya/Temple of Light) but have 4 charges instead of 3 and can only be attuned 1 destination (10 bank spaces for each) - 90 Smithing for Attuned Combat Weaponry (Level 80 Equipment). Chance of dealing +25% damage (Chance scales with Agility level). Only applies if wielding attuned crystal equipment in both hands. Degrades to dust. E. Crystal Flasks - Crystal-Flecked Sandstone Spot x5 - Robust Glass Machine x2 - Able to mine 15 Crystal-Flecked Sandstones per day (More in the Meilyr Level 115 Resource Dungeon) - 81 Mining for Crystal-Flecked Sandstone - 89 Crafting for Crystal Flask - Crystal Flasks are used for Combination Potions (see Meilyr) - Soft Clay Mining Spot x5 which requires 75 Mining, gives soft clay, and more xp - Bracelet of Clay will give an additional Soft Clay every 1/5 mines. F. Others - Sawmill Operator: Sells Construction supplies (including Marble, Gold Leaf etc) and converts Logs to Planks. - Player Owned House Portal (POH) - Sandpit, Pottery Wheel x3, Furnace x3, Water Source, Range, Bank, Tanning NPC Amlodd - Summoning and Divination A. Divination Crater - Three tiers of Shadow Creatures (higher level than the ones in Temple of Light) assigned only by Morvran which drop Shadow Cores. - Drop Shadow Cores in the nearby crater to cleanse them for a large amount of Divination XP. More XP the higher tier Shadow Core (85/90/95 Divination to cleanse). - Cleansed Shadow Cores become Light Cores. - Use Light Cores to make Light Creature Familiar (88 Summoning) - Light cores can also be obtained from Pickpocketing Ithell workers, Light creature agility course and more. B. Light Creature Familiars - Are the same as those in Tears of Guthix Cave and act as a light source. They crushe energy automatically granting more XP than the 'Enhanced Experience' option on craters (meaning you will only get Memories). Teleport to Tears to Guthix cave (Temporarily dismissed while in cave but passive effects will still apply). Remove negative effects of green tears (15 times) and extends Tears of Guthix time. Scroll Ability: Increase the chance of receiving good items from the Hefin Agility course. B. Impling Collector - Completionist Cape requirement - Catching all 16 Implings (barehanded or with a net) unlocks: (Given a Codex to keep track of caught implings) - Hunter XP - Free teleport access to a Puro-Puro field. - An Elf Outfit ('Thinker' class) - A choice between: Triple XP from future implings or double Loot from future implings. - Random impling spawns in your house (uncatchable). C. Others - Summoning Obelisk and Fairy Ring - Bogrog-style-NPC: Also teleports to Familiarisation (no more hunting for Pikkenmix) III. Hefin - Agility and Prayer A. Serenity Posts - Requireing 75 Agility. Stand on the posts and stay in the correct pose (which changes randomly) to receive agility XP/second. XP is capped daily. There are 4 poses (available as emote rewards from the Light Creature Hefin Agility Course) B. Light Creature Hefin Agility Course - Requires 77 Agility (Scaling up at Levels 82/87/92/97) - XP and Rewards are increased every 5 levels - No longer a course around the city. Instead, focused around the Hefin Cathedral with a parkour/free-running theme - Occasional shortcuts appear to vary route - The light creature will drop a random item/multiplier in the player's inventory including: x1, x2, x3 Multiplier - Your next 1/2/3 laps will generate more XP; x2, x3, x4 Item Multiplier - Your next lap generates 2/3/4 times the items, Small Prayer or Agility lamps, Light Cores for Light Creature familiar, Agility-replenishing items, Crystal tree acorn (very, very rare). C. Cleansing Seren Stones - Requires 75 Prayer - Cheaper but Slower alternative to Gilded Altars - Buy Cleansing Crystals from the Cathedral for GP. Each Crystal is used to gain Prayer XP. - Cleansing Crystals can also be obtained from Crystal Trees while using a Crystal Hatchet D. Others - Prayer Altar, Rest Musician and Gnome Glider IV. Meilyr - Dungeoneering and Herblore A. Level 95 Resource Dungeon - 4 Pawya and 4 Grenwall Hunter Locations - Bank Deposit Box - Impling Spawn: Does not spawn dragon or kingly but has the highest spawn chance of crystal implings. - Bloodwood Tree - Divine Locations: Spawn every ~6 minutes and last for 5 minutes. Separate gathering cap to regular daily gathering limits (Half of the regular limit). Type of Spawn will not be synchronised across worlds to enable a community factor to search for the desired spawns - Gorajo: Gives one Gorajo card per day. Each card will also have a 'team' variant which are rarer to receive. Team cards will apply the effect of the card on all team members. Cannot own more than one regular card and one team card. Cards can be taken into Dungeoneering floors and left clicked to activate effects - Cards include: (* = effect lost if floor is abandoned) Common: Beguiling Smoke Devil: Bypass the skill check on skill doors. Cloning Mosquito*: x2 Dungeoneering Tokens for the floor Reversing Phoenix: Increased chance for Slayer creatures to spawn Scavenging Meerkat*: A sinkhole replay ticket will be granted when completing a floor Uncommon: Consistent Yak: Guarantees a combination potion will spawn on the next room this players opens, and deaths after the second won't count towards the penalty. Preening Ibis*: x1.5 Dungeoneering XP for the floor Protecting Titan: Reduces damage from doors by 10% Whimsical Bunyip: Will play the effect of another card which isn't already in effect. Semi-Rare: Thieving Locust*: x2 Dungeoneering XP for the floor Trading Mantis: When a creature is killed there is a 10% chance of increasing the quantity dropped. This is guaranteed on the boss item share. Rare: Trading Leech: When activated will grant an unused tier-appropriate armour piece, with a random selection of items of use to the dungeon including coins, logs, herbs, potions, charms. - Motherlode Maw is a Dragonkin Statue that grants special rewards to those with 2490 total and 115 Dungeoneering. Accessible daily with 10 motherlode shards. Useful for progressing towards completionist and trimmed completionst capes. Gives short-term multipliers to things like Castle Wars tickets and livid farm points. B. Level 115 Resource Dungeon - Additional crystal-flecked sandstone rocks (Will have its own daily limit separate to the regular rocks) - Bank Deposit Box - Edimmu (combat level 150-180): New slayer creature assigned by Kuradal and Morvran. Drops Blood Necklace. Mod Hunter said it will be repaired using Blood Runes and have the Blood Necklace effect limited to creatures you're already in combat with. November BTS said 'an upgrade for certain amulets'. Drops a new type of Ash, a pet, useful elf city items and gorajo cards. C. Harmony Monoliths - There are 4 monoliths - 75 Farming - Buy Moss Seeds for 1,000 coins (Seeds are Tradeable) - Moss does not get diseased, does not require compost - Players can attune their amulets of farming to supervise growth - Rather than growing over time, moss progresses one growth stage per 50K XP in a specific skill - Monoliths have 4 growth stages (200K to fully grow) - Each monolith is tuned to a specific skill and only XP generated in that skill will make moss grow (XP from quests, minigames and bonus XP etc does not count) The skill each monolith is tuned to changes every 24 hours (amount of XP contributed is retained) and is selected at random but no 2 monoliths will be tuned to the same skill - Harvesting Monoliths gives 1-5 Moss. Moss is stackable and tradeable. D. Perfect Potions - Combine Moss with Juju potions to create Perfect Potions which last for one hour (except Perfect Dungeoneering Potions which last for 4 hours) - Juju potions will be made tradeable but to use them, the Herblore level required to make them is necessary. (Meaning Juju Gumbos which heal 2750 will effectively be made buyable - http://puu.sh/cDgjU.jpg) - The Juju mining potion effect will be restored to its original prior to Divination effect - Lady Meilyr will give one of each potion to a maxed player (once only) - New Potions [hide New Potions] Level 75 Perfect Woodcutting Potion: Chance of receiving double logs or double cuts from Ivy Level 77 Perfect Farming Potion : Chance of double Moss from a Harmony Monolith. Chance of receiving Moss by harvesting or checking any farming patch Level 80 Perfect Mining Potion: Gives the effects of both the old and new Juju mining potion effects Level 82 Perfect Smithing Potion: Chance that Smithing bars will generate Corrupted Ore Level 85 Perfect Agility Potion: A light creature will visit you at the end of a lap of any agility course, gifting you an item. In the Elf City, this will be an additional item Level 87 Perfect Prayer Potion: Increased XP when cleansing Seren Stones. Gain effect that treats all Gilded Altars as always fully lit Level 90 Perfect Herblore Potion: Additional chance of finding a recipe in Dungeoneering. Additional XP when making combination potions Level 91 Perfect Dungeoneering Potion (Lasts 4 hours): Replacement for Overloads in Dungeoneering and all skill doors require 2 levels less E. Combination Potions - Visit the Meilyr Greenhouse to purchase recipes for the combination potions (Some of these must be found in Dungeoneering before they can be purchased) - The chance of finding a combination potion recipe in Dungeoneering will increase depending on the player’s combined Herblore and Dungeoneering levels. This chance will increase sharply if the player has max levels - A cupboard will be added to the herblore shop, where the player will be able to store any number of max-dose perfect potions and combination potions - Create a combination potion by using two different 4-dose, non-flask potions with a crystal flask in the inventory to create a 6-dose crystal flask (Gives 2 free doses) [hide=Combination Potions] * = Tradeable ASDRM = Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranging, Magic ASD = Attack, Strength, Defence Herblore Level Potion Name Cost Combinations Description Level ? Miss Lioness
I thought Thieving in Elf City was the best xp according to what people were talking about the other week? Was it patched? It isn't. From what I heard from clanmates, Elf City is slower than Dwarves. However it is more preferred due to the potential brawler drops, which can save plenty of time to make up for. cowmaster187
confirmed traders is pretty close to 380k xp, elves max at about 300k with more clans i expect elves to go up quite a bit, the main problem is waiting for the clans to stop all hating you at once, with more clans that shouldn't be a problem at all. btw it has been like this since release and there haven't been any changes to the rates as far as i can tell. they have changed the way they catch you. before they were catching you 3 in a row, now it is more spread out, which is less frustrating. the xp rates didn't change though. ~~~legoman187~~~ Clicky siggy for blogThanks Pendonub for fancy new sigThieving guide[WIP]Loyal player since May 2005 and member since November 2005 and Tifer for many years~~~legoman187~~~
