you are likely here because you want to maximize your Thieving experience gains at the glorious eleven city of Priffdinas.

disclaimer - this is not a guide for anything other than elven thieving at priffdinas.

Table of Contents:

1. [anchorlink=HTGT]How to get there[/anchorlink]

2.a [anchorlink=TE]The Essentials[/anchorlink]

2.b [anchorlink=OTtH]Other things that help[/anchorlink]

[anchor]HTGT[/anchor]

How to get there:

After completing plagues end you gain access to the City of Priffdinas. In this city there are 8 clans arrayed around a central hub. Each of the clans requires a particular thieving level to loot from 91 to 98. This guide is ideally for 98+ and those going for 200m however, you can use it as low as 89 I believe (at severely reduced rates of course).

[anchor]TE[/anchor]

The essentials:

Here is a list of things that help immensely, without them your rates will be lackluster.

Treahern Exoskeleton - obtained from plagues end

Ardougne cape 4 - obtained from the ardougne task set

-OR-

Compeltionist cape - it counts as an ardougne cape

something like this would do fine.

vh6cgn.png

In terms of inventory it really depends on several factors:

-do you plan on banking or dropping the loot you don't want

-is the loot you want noted

-if it doesn't stack is there a close bank box

Normally I start off with a clear inventory as I drop most of the loot that I get. If you plan to keep anything, try to choose your route such that there is a bank along the way. It is helpful to note there are bank chests at the treahern and it hell heralds (where the crystal teleport takes you); the Hefin bank chest is also very close to the herald.

If you plan to use a familiar scrolls are really all you need.

[anchor]OTtH[/anchor]

Other things that help:

Abyssal lurker & scrolls (if below 98 thieving)

Black ibis (from pyramid plunder - not required but does boost rates additionally if you own it you will get the bonus if wearing the exoskeleton)

A clan avatar (either held by you or on same world)

crystal teleport seeds - for quick clan tele - can save you lots of running time which means higher xp/hr (might be significantly higher, still need to try it myself)

Things that may help but have to be tested:

Five finger discount aura

cheeky monkey

???

[anchor]rates[/anchor][anchor]Rates[/anchor]

Rates:

Current rates are:

You can achieve between 370k and 408k xp / hr depending on the Voice of Seren. (more with xp boosting things such as black ibis and clan avatars0

Optimal routes to take, and when to bank (the real meat and potatoes of the guide):

from here on VOS = Voice of Seren

VOS boosts thiev xp by about 20% compared to non VOS.

and a handy table:

The rates on the right are 1 sessions(3 strikes) worth of xp, and will be made more accurate over time, as more data is gathered.

28sxbpc.png

*Treahern rate not confirmed, but expected rate.

*also Crwys non VOS does not look right and needs some more datas, I would expect closer to 32k

Option 1: Use Crystal Teleport seeds to minimize running between the clans

10r225c.png

*text wall inbound*

This provides a significant boost to xp as you do not waste nearly as much time running around as you do thieving and getting xp. Superior rates to other options. Downside you need many teleport crystals for extended durations.

How it works:

You require several crystal teleport seeds (4)s (3s work as well, but you need more of them)

You run to your starting clan, after getting three strikes you teleport to the next clan in your order, with this it can be the next highest level clan and location doesn't matter at all. You can also take the path of most xp rather than wasting time at a lower level clan. This may also result in you doing more clans per hour, which is also a boon for xp. The teleport crystal takes you to the clan herald for that clan (the red dot on the map). From there it is easy to get to the best place to thieve from the workers for each clan.

Option 2: Run between the clans you want to thieve from

Path I normally take, simply because it is convenient.

I do hefin last in the rotation because it puts me closer to the beginning of the new one, although it is totally meaningless, as you will have to run all the way any way at some point. It greatly depends on the voices where you want to start in this rotation.

meilyr -> crwys -> cadarn -> treahern -> hefin -> meilyr.

ROUTE MAP GOES HERE----placeholder currently---In the works at the moment arrows are hard.

To maximize xp there are some important things to remember.

-Crwys and Meilyr have the highest xp, so if it is in VOS go to it even if there is less than 5 minutes left on VOS.

-It is useful to watch your chat for the red message stating you have been caught so you can click on another. If it is your first catch you may want to get ready to move again as the first and second can some times be back to back.

-Teleport crystals don't seem to boost xp/hr very much, but they are much more convenient than running to your next target. They may also help with xp a small amount if you are not fast when switching clans.

-Iowerth and Ithell are only worth thieving from if under the effects of VOS, and even then the xp gained from them is meager.

[anchorlink=loot]back to top of rates[/anchorlink]

[anchorlink=Top]back to top of thread[/anchorlink]

[anchor]WYNTK[/anchor]

What you need to know (how it is different from normal thieving):

If you are planning to rob the poor dwarves of keldagrim of their horde you may want to think again. They require constant clicking which can get very painful (believe me I know). Elves are a whole other ball of wax, they are similar to choking ivy for wood cutting or seen stones for mining. All you have to do is click once and you will thieve until either they catch you or you run out of inventory space (more on this later). It is very relaxed, but it does require more moving around than traders, it is up to you.

-You can achieve only about 200 thieves at each clan before you will rack up 3 strikes, at which point you will need to move to another clan.

-The 200 thieves takes about 5 minutes at level 99 with treahern exoskeleton and Ardougne cape/COmpeltionist cape.

- After you third strike you will have to wait 20 minutes before you can thieve from that clan again.

-If you get caught 2 times and then move to another clan the 20 minute count down will not reset, It will only reset after you get caught for the third time. Those tricksy elves keep track for some reason.

-If you get 3 strikes at a clan and then log out the timer will keep running and in 20 minutes game time or otherwise you will be able to thieve again. What this means is you don't have to stay on for them to forget about you.

[anchor]TT[/anchor]

Tips and Tricks

-If you are having inventory space issue (which should only happen near the end of a run) there are a few things you can do. For edible things like the dwarven stouts, sharks and summer pies you can put them on your action bar and eat them as you thieve. For things that are not edible if you drag them out of your inventory they will be dropped on the ground. Both of these actions will not interrupt thieving from the elves.

-If what you are dropping has a destroy option and you try to drag it or destroy it and confirm the destruction it will stop the thieving animation and you will stop gaining xp until you click on an elven worker.

-Be careful of clicking on Iowerth and Cadarn soldiers. If you do attack them run away until you sheath your weapon, they will forget about you and you can continue to thieve.

-Elf teleport crystals speed up your movement around the city, they are very useful and pretty easy to get.

- If you are worried about hitting the warriors use a range weapon that requires ammo, but don't bring any. this will prevent you from attacking.

Notes on banking:

- pick your routes carefully, if you want to keep particular loot and know that your inventory will fill up at the next clan drop what you have off at the bank, convenient ones are in Treahern, Hefin and Ithell*

- Some loot is more valuable than others, in terms of both gp and inventory space. If it stacks it might be worth keeping simply because it will add up and doesn't take up much space. maybe it doesn't stack but is still valuable, that is when you want to pick your banks well.

- Bank when you are near a chest, you never know when your inventory will fill up with clan symbols and other epic loot.

*Only during VOS

yeah it should work, but instead of dropping the dwarven stout the auto use is drink which is annoying. if you do the right click drop from action bar it won't break it. I meant dropping items from your inventory manually will break it.

Interesting ok, right click dropping does break it, i shall clarify.

EDIT: based on the map and what we know about the clans there should be an optimal route consisting of most of the new batch basically, we shall see though, ill do the research i need after i get comp back (or while i am potion recipe hunting)

There are rumors from the internetiverse that the loot may have gotten a rebalance. we shall see how it is, xp should be pretty decent still even if it is still 300k/hr

Scratch that last post, did an hours worth and had some very interesting results i think

average time at a clan was about 5 minutes (same as before).

the loot from cadarn and crwys has changed some what

cadarn doesn't drop nearly as many sharks

while crwys drops flax, yews and magic logs, and from what i could tell no seeds

amlodd and heft have mediocre loot. myeilyr are pretty bad as well.

xp gained in that hour was about 420k - with 70k bxp so 350k an hour id wager is pretty close. that is without an ava boost or black ibis so could get pretty close to 400k an hour (better than traders)

my expectation is that the best route is hefin -> meilyr -> crwys -> cadarn -> treahern -> hefin etc. mainly because treahern is 95 while ambled is 94 so you are likely to get better xp if you ignore ambled all together, it also is easier running path (straight up the middle as opposed to kind of wonky jog through the middle. I shall test to find out i guess.

more work to be done tomorrow

THINGS DONE TOT HE GUIDE:

updated the loot briefly

updated xp chart

updated level order of clans ( i was wrong so sue me, xp was right though)

So some interesting results:

Gained in 1 hour, all clans thieved (VOS meylir and Iowerth)

360k xp ~500k cash

Meylir voice Average of about 40k xp while in voice

Hefin average of about 30k

Crwys average of about 28k

cadarn average 26k

Averages will be lower here, except treahern which should be bit higher than what i got.

1 cycle of treahern was 29k, i expect close to 30k average

Iowerth in voice was also about 29k

it hell was 26k

amlodd was 25k

The main thing still holding rates back is travel time, if you feel like using tele crystals that may speed things up a bunch, although I am not willing to try at this time.

Interesting indeed.
