DownToFletch
I've been looking around, but I haven't seen anything "concrete." Has anyone seen any math showing how many protean planks can be made/hour (assuming mahogany logs), and how many can be used/hour assuming you bank whatever you make? I've seen lots of numbers, but no one set of numbers was repeated twice.
Sy_Accursed
In the use the protean plank simply replaces the existing planks and therefore training with them in terms of numbers per hour is near enough identical to training with normal planks. I.e. However many mahog planks it'd take to do mahog tables for an hour is how many protean planks it'd take to train for an hour. This is because if you are timing things correctly (aka the numbers good training guides give) a butler un-noting normal planks should be near 0 time used meaning protean don't really save a huge amount of time - they just make things a lot cheaper. In terms of their production rates from portables, not a clue, but I'd hazard a guess it's not that high enough or consistent enough a chance for people to bother producing really solid numbers on. Arceus
You can find the percentage chance of obtaining protean planks from a portable sawmill here, if it helps. Then you would have to calculate how many planks you can actually process in an hour, but it's a start. "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." I know that the times/hour making, say mahogany tables, would be identical, I just figured that because I wouldn't be running/teleporting to the bank as much, it would give me some additional xp/hour, you know? A clanmate said I could use about 624/hour. With that number even on a DXP weekend, assuming we can also use BXP like the last one, I would hit my 62k plank goal :/ . Oh well, thank you! Sy_Accursed
If your running or teleporting to bank your doing construction wrong.Butler + noted planks = zero banking. 624 an hour sounds quite low to me.I mean I can burn through near 1k oak planks doing larders in around an hour or so (not actually timed it, but 98% certain I get far to bored to go on for more than an hour roughly) 1 Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

From personal experience I can do perfect tables an hour with protean planks. That is doing 10 tables each 36 seconds. This equates to 18,000 planks used per hour. *Note this is assuming the 12 secs trip from the butler is correct. I can do 4 tables in those 12 seconds, but due to butler only bringing 20 planks, I can make 3 tables + another 1 every 3rd trip. This equates to using those 18,000 planks an hour. Scratch this, there is a flaw in above >.>.... This is in no way 2m+ exp/h... 1m might be pushing it according to several other sources I have. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. DownToFletch
The butler can bank flatpacks for you? I didn't know that. I'd exclusively be using protean planks, so I figure my xp/h might be marginally higher when making mahogany tables compared to people that are using normal planks... Sy_Accursed
If your making flatpacks, your doing construction wrong. They take far to long to make compared to making and destroying the actual item and the time isn't worth it since flatpacks don't really sell 2 Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

I also planned on just using them to fund my kingdom, I heard that works decently.
Sy_Accursed
Each to their own but overall that is just an awful plan. Kingdom only takes un-noted flatpacks so you have to run in circles, alot.Plus the prices are awful for example 168gp is added to coffers per mahogany plank. Tbh if you want to afk it you may as well forget proper training and just let god statues & maybe a bit of crystal harps train it. You'd just waste so much time in both the slowness of flatpack making and the slowness of even trying to pay them into kingdom. That being said if you do want to actively train flatpacks are the only option, but seriously just drop em, the value regained for the effort involved taking them to kingdom is not worth it. I may as well just drop them, but doing this AFK isn't a bother to me. I have other things to capture my attention; 200+ game steam library, Diablo 3, Battlefield 3/4, Titanfall, and whole slew of other games :pJust run RS on my laptop or my second/third monitor when I get those :)
