Crystal vs. Imcando Pickaxe

Has anyone tested whether a crystal or imcando pick is faster overall mining+smithing xp with seren stones?

The easiest way to test the speed I think would be to see how long it takes to mine+smelt, say, 200 corrupted ore (30k smith xp) with crystal vs how long it takes to get and smelt 150 ore with imcando (assuming 1/4th incinerated).

I'm going to go out on a limb and just guess that imcando is a better deal, since 25% incinerated is a nice large fraction and done immediately, and the improvement from one pick to another isn't that huge, unless Seren Stones are very much different from other rocks in RS.  Unfortunately I can't test myself but it would be interesting to see the results!

^Until you factor in the imcando running out of charges and the significant time wasted in recharging it.

In terms of sheer speed crystal is better - crystal is to drag/imcando what dragon is to rune.

For true efficiency the Crystal Pickaxe is far better than the Imcando Pickaxe.

Simply the increase of mining exp versus the maximum potential of smithing expees is far beneficial than the potential smithing exp gain as an offset of the loss of mining expees.

Basically said, the smithing XP should be obtained through other methods and favour the extra mining experience gained.

It continues smelting regardless of charges.

Do you simply drop corrupted ore? There are of course faster methods, but unless the ore is discarded, increasing the speed at which it is smelted is beneficial. The degree to which it is beneficial is what I'm looking for.

This is what I was considering, but I would like to see it actually tested. I'll have to wait for more dust to come in, to do it my self or I might just extrapolate based on 12.5% increase from a normal dragon pick if needed.

To everyone else, are these assumptions or tested? We know that crystal picks are faster at mining. The question is if that speed can offset smelting 25% less ore.

All that is irrelevant of course if you drop the ore.

I've seen numbers saying that crystal is 12-15% faster mining exp. The saved time should ideally go into r2h smithing on portable forges which break even or profit usually

I don't think the xp gained from corrupt is enough to warrant imcandoing or using them (maybe for brawler use since stackable)

Like I said before, the extra mining experience gained is offset to the time it takes to get the addition exp need to gain versus time saved smelting the ore by the imcando pickaxe. Seeing the exp rates on the smithing skill is far higher.

Simply said, it is better to use Crystal pickaxe regardless of keeping the ore or not and then smith yourself using other methods.

This has been tested and confirmed by my fellow EE'ers as well as members from the clan Maxed.

Not doubting the info but do you have numbers or sources for the data? I would like it for future references
