Miss Lioness
At my home my phone cannot seem to sustain connection. After it says connected within a couple of seconds it disconnects and forgets the whole connection, password etc. I already googled for solutions but none seems to work.A small list of possible solution I tried to no avail:- Taking battery out, wait a bit then put it back in.- Giving the connection a static IP- Clearing all of WiFi data.- Factory Reset I think with the latest thing, it is more the problem with the router itself. However, by mom and little brother got the exact same phone and they aren't having any issues at all. For me it is not really a problem that I am constantly using 4G, as I got 10GB internet bundle. However, it would still be nice to be able to connect to WiFi. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. D. V. Devnull
Okay... There's some things you really should have told us... What kind of phone did you get? Whose brand of WiFi Router are you using? Who is your Cellular Phone Service Provider? These details can help to determine what kind of situation that you're looking at in order to repair your phone's ability to access WiFi. :o ~D. V. "Your information is lacking information. More details, please?!?" Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... essiw
Did you try to reset the router? Otherwise try if the same thing happens with an other router (by a friend for example). Not sure if you did this already but what also can help is to let your phone forget the internet connection (I know how to on an apple device, but not sure on other devices) and try again. If none helps it might also be worth it to go to a forum dedicated to the phone you have :) http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. jasignhagj
I had a similar problem with my mother's Galaxy Tab, but giving it a static IP solved the issue. Have you tried using anyone else's wifi? That would confirm whether it's a phone issue or a router issue.
Huge Noob
I had the exact problem with my Galaxy S3. It turned out that it was because I had McAfee installed on my phone and had to turn the setting "WiFi Security" off. It's a setting that's supposed to tell you if an WiFi connection is "safe" or not, but it was deeming my home connection unsafe so it wouldn't connect to it.
