Like i stated before its more about how the guy was releasing the info. There is a great deal of difference between one person posting a mod post for the comp cape guidelines and a guy who might post a text, collage, or video verbatim of everything on that one thread. Also keep in mind this particular individual was doing this for many different topics.

With that said everything we have been doing up until now is fine really. Just dont go taking pictures of whole conversations on the hlf. Most people just either copy one particular post in text or picture. That should suffice to get the discussion going.

What's the point of a high level forum anyway?  Seems kind of elitist to me.  People who play less or less efficiently have a right to be interested too.

Nominally, for people who have 'completed' the skills to be able to discuss stuff.

I know what happens in a high level forum, I'm asking why they exist.

Honestly i remember the reasons they brought them in. They wanted a high level suggestion forum so they could recieve top end feedback. They also knew end game players would be very knowledgeable in the game so they wanted a seperate place for their suggestions. They also wanted a place where people who were, by jagex terms, end game players a place to discuss metagame mechanics. They also wanted a place where they could hang out and commune with each other.

But where is the line drawn? We have at the moment no idea. Requests for clarification has been sent out multiple times now, and we are still in the dark. I'll keep you all posted on this matter, but till we know clearly where we stand in this matter and know what is allowed and what isn't.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?~ Marianne Williamson

It's just common sense surely?

You can post Mod posts/statements that are relevant to the entire community.

You can't post the pages of discussion afterwards, or information from other threads regarding real-life stuff.

This is a community fan site for a game. Lets try and keep things in perspective. We arent a government regulated agency. Regardless it is still important to keep this matter up to date so thank you!

I just saw the sticky... Why is this not allowed by jagex? It seems very strange to me to not allow this. Also sad that we cannot talk about anything on such forums here anymore.

scam you

& I suppose the "imspecial' badge wasnt sufficient

Read Mod Lee's post in the sticky. He sounded kind of unprofessional in that message >_>

He was the most professional of the player J Mods they recruited but none of them were really professionals. They were all popular streamers that Jagex hired. Most of Lee's job just seems to be making some videos and putting on some community events.

They've all been pretty bad, from what I've noticed. Kinda what you'd expect when you hire unqualified people.

He still does far better work than the others. Although here and there he still makes horrid mistakes. But can't we say that from certain other Jagex Moderators as well? Such as Mod Infinity and Mod Balance? Don't we mock Mod Timbo for his balancing habits? I think there is something to say about every person. Guess what? Noone is perfect!

Infinity and Balance were also players hired by Jagex, so yea its basically the same mistake. They ran Runezone which almost no one had even heard of until Jagex hired them, then all of a sudden it became basically a Jagex offsite. Timbo may balance wrong every once in a while, but its not like he creates P.R. issues like the player J Mods tended to do.

I think the problem is that many J Mods look at it as a job first, and a game second. Which works well, they seem to enjoy the jobs and what they create but there is still a degree of knowledge that it is a job and there are certain things you don't do.

Many of the players recruited as J Mods still treat it like they aren't really working. As such, they still have a degree of acting like players and not Jagex employees. This leads to P.R. issues where a player would be fine to say/do something but a company representative's words/actions have more weight and they fail to realize that.

That said, overall I like Lee. I think he went overbearing and didn't think out the full consequences of his statement, but compared to the others I think he's one of the better ones.

Jagex really should start hiring people with relevant degrees for their community jobs, but I can't really blame them. Mods Lee, Infinity, and Balance all work for next to nothing so it's great for their bottom line.

By the way, if anyone here appreciates good web development patterns, check out Runezone. It's absolutely fantastic. You can tell that they earned their W3schools HTML certification.
