LK1905
I'm going for 75 prayer, and I was wondering which was quicker, banking the frost dragon bones then using them ion POH alter, or using bone crusher and dragon rider amulet to bury them. Most people seem to be using dragon rider, but from what I can guess, using them at alter would be faster, as you would have to kill a lot less, and banking only taking like 2 minutes. For gear, i have blister wood pole arm, T70 ghost hunter armour, not using potions or prayers. Which brings me to another question, is it worth the time to get the secondaries for super potions? I have enough herbs, just no secondaries.
Sy_Accursed
I'd imagine it's very subjective yo your goals and other stats within ironman. As you can only use your own altar (if memory serves) doing them in poh would mean having the required construction level and the necessary supply of marrentils to fuel the burners. If you have the con level and a good stock of marrentils, by all means altaring them would make sense; however if you lack one or the other the time required to obtain them is probably greater than the time you'd save just bonecrushing with d-rider. Oddish DIY
Use bonecrusher and dragonrider. I was getting around 140K pray xp an hour that way with extremes, piety, chaotic claws. Banking only gets faster once you get yak. Melee xp and loot is also better when bonecrushing :) Although I guess before super antifires your trips arent going to last long anyway so you might be better off banking. Arceus
I think at 73 you can boost to 75 and build the altar even on an Ironman, right? So that's out of the way. Marrentills can be obtained from monster drops or farming, depending on whether that's a worthwhile use of time for you, but it shouldn't be too bad. LK1905
Yea, I did a few trips before and was only getting like 25 bones per trip with a full war tort of lobsters, as well as 20 in inventory (I should definitely get better food). Is it also worth the time to get the secondaries for super pots? I think at 73 you can boost to 75 and build the altar even on an Ironman, right? So that's out of the way. Marrentills can be obtained from monster drops or farming, depending on whether that's a worthwhile use of time for you, but it shouldn't be too bad. I know, creating an altar isn't the issue (plus I have the logs for 75 anyway, just haven't bothered to get it yet), I was just wondering if its actually worth getting or just getting dragonrider amulet. Arceus
It seems like they would be about even, unless doing the quest is a bigger obstacle than spending the cash for the altar. ElysianWolf
I've heard alot use dragonrider amulet + bonecrusher at Frosts. However if you don't mind banking, then that's up to you. I've done alot of that back in the days with war tortoise and cannon before Frosts got updated with the blue orb. There's really no wrong way to go about training Prayer, some prefer dragonrider + bonecrusher - but it doesn't mean you can't train on altar or use other methods. Unless you want to be efficient or want the fastest exp method? Take me for example, I've been using pengs/jot to train my prayer to level 75 on my hciw while I work on my other skills. It's slow progress but better then the thought of grinding at Frosts. And I don't do content I don't like. So I just train it a different way - as my own preference.
