Henkka_92
Hello! It's been awhile since I've played the last time. Seems like we have new combat system and lots of new gear to wear.So I'm quite confused what to do and what to wear. The question is: I was thinking about getting membership and do rest of the quests and maybe slaying / bosses.I have about 60m gp and thats about it. Just got 85 dungeoneering @f2p, so I have few tokens to spend. Are chaotics still good opinion? Dual rapiers or what? What kind of gear should I buy? I have basically maxed combat stats, except for prayer & summoning. Therefore I'm going to need to get money to train prayer and other skills. What are the good ways of getting money nowadays? Hope you could help me abit :) Thanks!
Arceus
Definitely invest in a membership. If you don't want to spend real life cash on it, you can buy an in-game item called a bond for ~10M and it will grant you 14 days of membership. I'd recommend you get a subscription for now though and not worry about it. Slayer and questing can unlock a few good monsters to slay for money - for example glacors from Ritual of the Mahajarrt, Roriarus at 92 Slayer, etc. For the immediate future you probably want to try frost dragons, since you can readily kill them fresh off of 85 Dungeoneering, and they are decent steady money. Bossing will make you more, but you may need higher level armor for it. Chaotics are still good, but other weapons are more powerful (and often, much more expensive). The least expensive of the batch would be drgyores, which are dual-handed melee weapons, and the strongest of that class in the game. With the amount of money you have I would recommend you buy a set of drygores (any of them is fine), full bandos/armadyl/subjugation, use rcb/darkbow/other c'bows (i.e. Armadyl + offhand chaotic crossbow) for Ranged, or Virtus wand/book / Armadyl battlestaff /Staff of Light for magic. You can essentially pick two combat classes and do pretty well, preferably ranged to support melee (which is weak to magic) if you go that route. It's also worth noting that you can gain access to attuned crystal weaponry by completing the quest Plague's End. That's by no means an easy task, but those weapons essentially replace (and are even slightly better than) chaotics because they give you a chance to hit extra proportional to your Agility level. Henkka_92
Thanks Arceus for really informative answer! Seems like drygores & bandos it will be. How about amulet & ring? And what should I buy with my dungeoneering tokens?I should train my prayer from 82 to atleast 92. Would it be smart to get bonecrusher and kill frost dragons? Or is that just waste of money? Arceus
For a ring, one possibility would be the Asylum surgeon's ring. This is a reward from completing the Broken Home quest and some post-quest stuff. You will need a guide and some time to earn it but it should not be that difficult on the scale of things and is good for all combat classes. Short of spending a phenomenal amount of money or going deep into Player-owned Ports, I believe it is the best you can do. Another option is imbued rings from Mobilising armies if you are willing to go through that. You can actually buy it with a new minigame currency called Thaler, so you may not have to go through the pain of finding someone and playing MA to do it. Regarding amulets, again without spending a large amount of money there are several good options. Saradomin's hiss/whisper/murmur offer bonuses in magic/melee/ranged, respectively. If you have dungeoneering tokens to burn you can upgrade them for 100K to increase the bonus from +36 to +44 in the aligned style by purchasing a chaotic remnant from the rewards shop. A fury amulet (or trimmed fury) offers almost equally high stats uniformly across all three combat classes. The Dragon rider amulet, available as a quest reward from One of a Kind provides a substantial prayer bonus if that interests you, and costs 500K to replace if you lose it. There is also the Demon horn necklace, which will work in conjunction with a Bonecrusher to restore Prayer points in front of your very eyes as you slay monsters (that drop appropriate bones, including frosties). The drawback is that it doesn't have any offensive bonuses, unlike other necklaces. In terms of what to prioritize with Dungeoneering tokens, there are several useful purchases you can make. Assuming you did not spend any tokens thus far, 85 Dungeoneering comes out to around 325K tokens. You mentioned that you are not yet maxed on Summoning and Prayer, so the Charming Imp (auto-picks up charms) and Bonecrusher will indeed be useful to you especially if you plan to do Slayer. You can put the Bonecrusher on your toolbelt, and the Charmping Imp as well if you pay 500 Slayer points for the privilege, which is an option but not necessary worthwhile. It does only take up one inventory space after all. Herbicide, scroll of life/cleansing/efficiency are good quality of life purchases that are relatively cheap and might benefit you later on, so I would recommend you pick up those if you have any interest in their respective skills (Farming/Herblore/Smithing). As for the cost of all these: Charming Imp - 100KBonecrusher - 34KHerbicide - 34KScroll of Cleansing - 20KScroll of Efficiency - 20KScroll of Life - 10K Total - 218K, with ~100K leftover for chaotic remant/off-hand chaotic crossbow/whatever else you might feel like buying. Frost dragons are most infamous for their frost dragon bone drops, and the rest of them can be worth substantially less. You probably won't make a whole lot of cash if you camp there and bonecrush all the bones, but if that's your thing in terms of training prayer, that would be an option. You could also sell frost dragon bones, buy dragon bones instead, and run them to a PoH altar, the more traditional way of training. I am not sure that one way is substantially more efficient than the other. If you had Soul Split, Turmoil, and Demon horn that would be enough to keep you healed up if you're going to camp frosties. But for now, probably bring a Saradomin godsword, make sure it has its active special healing ability rather than passive, paired with the asylum surgeon ring I mentioned earlier (it has a passive that will decrease the cost on random occasions), and fire that off whenever you need more life points and prayer. I'm not sure how it all works out so you might want to bring food/prayer potions your first couple times and adjust based on how much damage you're taking and what you feel you need. And of course, bringing potions and such costs money but can increase your efficiency. Have fun training! "Fight for what you believe in, and believe in what you're fighting for." Wkw
If you don't have money, or dungeon tokens to blow, a fury is a good choice. Alternativly, you can do a short quest and get a dragon rider amulet] for free, which is 2 stats lower than fury, and free. For ring, berserker costs almost nothing and is all class. Next best is the surgeon ring, which is practically the best dps ring in the game, AND it is free, after a quest. For DG tokens...Since you have drygores, dont get a chaotic melee.Royal crossbow (equal to chaotics) is under 1m.. do not bother with chaotic crossbowsChaotic staff is the highest tier for the lowest cost magic weapon. Be sure to get that one. After you have at least all T80 weapons, then feel free to go for the convience things (imp, bonecrusher).. but if you are ever going to make potions, get the scroll of cleansing asap Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum

Miss Lioness
There is however, one big drawback to the use of the Dragonriders Amulet and Asylums Ring. If you die with them, the costs to retrieve them are at 500k each, just something for you to consider ;)! Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?'
