RuneScape Information

  1. Hi, I am looking for a member of Black Arm Gang to finish the Heroes' Quest. If you can help please add me. RSN: Kumar_88 Thanks.
  2. Question answered. Please close thread.
  3. Thanks evilspab I didn't realise that there were willows there. Thank you again.
  4. Hi, I have 74 WC and would like to get to 85 so that I can cut yews faster. The two places that I have sussed out is either oaks north of Port Sarim pub, so that I can bank at the deposit box near the monks of Entrana. OR, willows outside Draynor bank. Which do you think is faster? I want to bank the logs so that I can grind Firemaking later on. Your opinions or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  5. You're probably right but 400 bars is still 61.6k-693k in an hour which isn't too bad.
  6. The decison between steel bars and mithril bars depends on two things. One how fast you can mine coal and two how good is your boredom threshold. Your mining level is 60 according to your sig but I can't remember how fast coal was at that level. Basically time how long it takes you to mine 8 coal (let say 2 minutes, maybe thats a bit slow I don't know). So thats about 18 minutes to make 18 bars. Thats a profit of about 11,664 gp profit (mith ore=188 gp and nats= 237 gp, mith bar= 1073 gp) per 18 minutes. Or about 38,880 gp per hour. If you buy all your coal and iron you can smelt 9 steel bars at a time. This take about a minute if your smelting at Al-Kharid. That's about 1,539 gp per minute (iron ore= 93 gp, 2*coal= 322 gp, steel bar= 596 gp) or about 92,340 gp per hour. The catch is that is pretty boring. I made my first mill this way and I can stand it any more. I would recommend doing no more than 1k bars per day but that's just my opinion. You could mine rune ess it may be a bit less boring but makes a bit less cash per hour. You might also like to run food items from Wyndin in Port Sarim. Raw chicken and cheese are the biggest money makers. However I don't know how much you can make an hour. Plus if you have an Explorer Ring (3) Cabbage Ports makes it a lot faster. You probably will get bored of these methods after a couple of hours but you can easily make get your goal within a week. Hope this helped and good luck on your goal.
  7. Smelting Steel bars, requires 30 smelting and 30 mining if you are collecting your own coal or 15 mining to mine your own iron. Coal costs around 160 ea at GE while iron costs around 85-90 ea. Steel bars are selling round 530-550 ea at GE. It is possible to smelt over 100 bars an hour so thats over 53,000 gp if you collect your own coal and iron or about 28,000 gp if you buy your iron and coal from GE.
  8. Maybe there should be a merchanting hiscores table. What 's wrong with making tons omoney in a fantasy game? My magic isn't high enough. And I'm guessing you didn't watch the 20-20 matxch yesterday.
  9. Introduction I don't play Runescape very often (usually just in the summer holidays, I live in Australia). The thing that makes me keep coming back is the fact that I make some money, fight some monsters and work towards getting 99 in all my skills. Because I have played very little I don't have much money, however in the last two weeks since I have started playing again and I am 300k away from by first mill (not much of a big deal but I started with only 60k but even then it feels like a lot). And I have GE to thank for it. GE has allowed me to make more money than previously (I play during non-peak times for northern hemisphere players and so I don't have much ppl to sell my items to, so I just sold them to shops). I have read many ppl posting that GE have significantly reduced the value of many items and I have to agree. Evidence Here is my evidence; last week I have started smelting steel bars and selling them back through GE (I also buy iron and coal ore from here). From Monday till Thursday the market price was 540 gp, Friday market price went up to 542gp (weekend period, more ppl playing; inflation although not much). Saturday market price it at 541gp (okay, more ppl buying steel bars but more ppl also providing the raw materials, fair enough laws of supply and demand had levelled the prices). Sunday less ppl playing (possibly) demand and supply is less the prices went down. Well Monday this week massive surprise the market price of steel bars reduced to 536 gp (for every 1k of bars you are making 4k less, small change for some but not for others). And yesterday the price fell again by another 2gp again not much. Today the price has steadied currently at 534 gp. The problem with GE is that it has destroyed the skill of merchanting, prior to GE you had to have the skill and patience to sell your goods. However GE has created a new breed of sellers (these ppl donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t diverse to be called merchants) who want money instantly and will sell at lower prices to achieve this and also very stingy buyers who know that they can get things very cheap at the GE. This will ultimately ruin the RS economy as many others have suggested. However I think that we can get prices back up if we try hard enough. The Plan First we must give Jagex credit that we as players control the market price through our action of buying or selling if this isnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t true then Jagex are a bunch of commies. Using steel bars as my example, last Friday the market price went up this suggests that there was high demand because of more ppl playing however the plummeting of prices this week do suggest something more sinister considering that in prior to the week end period the previous week prices were a whole 6 gp higher (and even then this price is considerably lower prior to the GE update) What I ask everyone to do this; if you are at the GE and you think that a certain item is severely undervalued then only buy/sell the item at the highest possible. To begin these prices wonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t move very quickly at all depending on how many ppl pick up on this idea. If we as players do have control over the economy (supposedly through the laws supply and demand) then we may be able to get the prices back to where they were all it requires is general consensus. If everyone decides that they want some part of RuneScape back to its original self then this is it. Conclusion Spread the word maybe through people power we may be able to get back some small part of RuneScape back. Yes there are some repercussions, three in fact. One; over inflation yes this method could have the opposite effect of what GE is doing. The solution this method requires lots of people so once the prices reach a respectable level people can stop buying at the highest price and instead start buying at market prices this may take a while but it will happen. Two; Jagex realises what we are doing and starts controlling the prices bring them back to what they are currently at or even lower, in which case we averted the inevitable for a while longer. Three; Jagex realises that we are serious and we will continue to raise prices until they make some changes; e.g. increase the 3k cap on trading, increase the 5% on GE or even better allow GE to be used to facilitate trades but we set the prices we want to sell at. Jagex can invest in an in game feature which updates current market prices regularly (more than once a day) so that we can shun buyers/seller who have set their prices too high or too low, this will reduce scamming. So spread the word, be optimistic and maybe we can claim back RuneScape as loyal players. ~Kumar88 PS: If I have made any spelling errors please forgive me and sorry about the length and lack of pics. DonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t flame me this is my first thread/post ever, I have thought most of this through and for mind it seems to work however I may have missed something. Hope youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll join the fight. :D
