  1. Phew, sold them at 13m. I wish there was a preview....purple female dervish sure is fugly.
  2. Ohhh yes. brought 2 before update @ 8m ea. People are buying for 25m apparently in W2. if only I brought more, I could have for once made major profit I was browsing the SM forums before update and bought some because they were being merched, I wonder if it was a coincidence or that robins were leaked
  3. Yep, just like those vanity pets you get in Blizzcon lootbags/WOW cards. I made a pretty penny selling and flipping them on ebay :) Even though it's just for looks, people will pay crazy amounts for virtual items if they're enticing enough. *cough* phat black market *cough*.
  4. Back in RSC there used to be this awesome program that would do everything, I think it was mentioned previously in this thread. It wasn't just a bot (though you could set macros), it improved gameplay with features like waypoint setting. Well Jagex eventually caught on and stat wiped a bunch of accounts and listed it on their front page. I had 2 accounts - one was wiped to the ground but my main wasn't touched. The thing is it wasn't a secret, players treated this program like Swiftkit and even talked about it in game...it really made the game a better experience (this was before make-X). Shortly after Jagex started doing make-X. I haven't cheated since then. So I agree as long as they make it less of a grind regular players will be less inclined to cheat. The companies are easy to spot though, the varrock ess mine spots for example xD
  5. Heh, merchanting is a viable way of making money, especially in the age of free trade where people don't have to pay the price if they have patience. But I'm a dirty mercher so I guess I am biased. Oh and the whole world does merchanting, it's called markup. You think Walmart actually pays $20 for that plastic shelf, or do they pay $3/unit to that factory in China, who actually uses 50 cents worth of plastic injected into a mould? Or you think it costs $25k for Louis Vuitton to make a handbag that has maybe $20 worth of materials? As I said, it's a legitimate way to make money in the real and virtual world.
  6. If they wanted to stop the flower game scam they could make the flowers spawn in your inventory instead of on the ground. Simple fix. Although I've always said they needed gambling in RS, but through a vendor instead of through trust games. It would take so much money out of the economy. Standing at the GE you see just how stupid people are, lining up to give money to a scammer even though there's people crying about being scammed right next to them. On one hand they need to be protected from themselves, on the other "a fool and his money are soon parted." Better kids learn this on RS than with real money.
  7. Love the idea of extremes being allowed in high risk worlds only, solves both sides of it. Can anyone tell me if ext/ovl are still allowed at corp? I know we get a new teleport but since it's technically still in wildy will it say "You can't teleport there with volatile potions in your inventory" or something like that?
  8. Erm...what's the point in pvp if not to have fun and kill your opponent before they kill you? Certainly not for the stimulating conversation... I admit I have been spoiled by MMOs and games with good pvp, I bought into Jagex's hype of them bringing back this great pvp experience. I should've known they were just trying to push a fugly new line of t-shirts
  9. Because they're all gung [garden tool] on making wildy so bad a$$, and yet they're still catering to the whiners and crybabies who are too poor to level herblore. They overturned their original decision BEFORE the announcement to bring back free trade/wild was announced, so it makes sense that they would re-evaluate the idea. Do you know what critical thinking means, LOL? TBH I've never played a MMO that is so limited (eg. all capped stats and can't use skills that you've earned in PVP).
  10. Penguin hunters should carry something poison on them, that should dissuade pkers. Can you imagine if they tried to attack one hunter, then everyone took turns DDSing and poison darting them. That would probably put a stop to griefing.
  11. Umm oookay....gf to the people who trained herblore, AGAIN. If it's supposed to be so dangerous then why neuter pkers? Why not encourage people to train for the advantage they want. /99 herb rage Are you effing kidding me? The whole point of bringing back old wildy was to get rid of this failed mechanic of inflation...why bother keeping it if they are restoring the thing it was supposed to simulate?! :wall:
  12. Easiest way for me was to go to w2 and listen for a few minutes. Go stand in the rares section if you were trying to sell rares and see what most people were selling for. I still use this to gauge when to sell stuff when flipping. Like yesterday i saw so many people dumping bandos chestplate, i dumped mine and didn't lose 700k per :ohnoes: But be aware that certain merch clans are going to try and create panic when free trade comes: advertise a low sell price to make it seem like it's crashing, scoop up an item for cheap and resell for higher when panic passes. Yeah they're not even keeping the illusion of not price manipulating anymore.
  13. Work is kicking my butt... I'd rather make millions (well, thousands <_< ) in real life than in the game. The only thing I do now is trade on GE and the new update will kill that :( Plus Cataclysm came out...I've managed to avoid it so far but all my design friends are playing.
  14. Heh this again. Nothing is stopping pkers from training herblore and taking advantage of it. In the spirit of the game (making the wild as dangerous it can be), Jagex better not be p**** whipped by all the whiners like last time. That wasn't my point, but ok. Oh I gotcha, wasn't calling you a whiner, just commenting on how Jagex wants the new wildy to be so hardcore, it would be hypocritical to say "oh but these pots are just too hardcore."
  15. SAFER NOOB! I can't wait till pkers come back thinking it's still 2007. So glad I bothered to train mage (aka BARRAGE NOOB!) Heh this again. Nothing is stopping pkers from training herblore and taking advantage of it. In the spirit of the game (making the wild as dangerous it can be), Jagex better not be p**** whipped by all the whiners like last time.
