  1. Fair enough and no worries, thanks so much for all the helpful information :) If I was going to go the totally non-combat route until I get a full set of Bandos. Would you suggest 99 wcing or 90 fishing to make the money? If wcing, should I go for mages, or something better? If fishing, what should I go for? After that question I'll get out of everyone's hair :D
  2. 3. 1 Mil... Geez I don't remember it being THAT expensive. Can you no longer do it with an Armor Rack in a PoH? 6. I forgot about Bandos Armor. I only once ever owned a full set of that, it was like 30 mil or something back in the day. I bet it's still quite expensive but it was definitely one of my favourite sets of armor. I'd love a set of that again. 8. I'm really glad to hear that, bots suck seriously really. They were all my friends used to complain about... 9. Omg... :DD what is this Treasure Hunter thing you speak of? I'd love to find a non-terrible way to get my Fishing from 90 to 99. Hmm that's weird. I won't have that problem though because my account is older than my Tip.It account :p haven't seen many around who are from the 'golden days' of RS. But that's good I guess that they have this option. Thanks for that. Not including PKing and other deliberate suicides there's only been 2 instances in my life where I died and wanted to slam my head through a table (you know THOSE moments when you really lost something amazing). They were both times before the existence of Gravestones. After them, the only times I've died, was for a free teleport or out of hilarious deliberate stupidity. I'm sure the game will be more challenging now but I don't see myself dying a lot still. Thanks again for all of the amazing answers. Also nice skiller account mate! I've always wanted to make one of those. I'll get around to it one day.
  3. Bank looks really bad. Nothing but a few runes, loads of holiday items (egg ring etc) and some other silly stuff. Almost all of it is useless, got about 50k gold lol a full set of rune armor with scim and kite shield. Pretty much nothing else. I could probably barely get 1mil for all of my stuff. I'll have to probably start from scratch and make some money from Fishing or Woodcutting. I used to farm Ranarrs for money, made so much too because I had teleports to all of the herb plots. Dunno if it's a valid method any more. 1. My prayer isn't THAT high! I dunno about how easy it is to level these days but once it WAS the most expensive thing in the game to train and one of the slowest. 2. Where do you get charges for the Spring Cleaner? Getting addy bars from Addy scims or whatever sounds like a REALLY nice thing, however it says that it can fail sometimes and give nothing. That could suck. 3. That's good, I love all these old areas so I don't want them replaced by new ones or some mini-game where people can just max out a skill in a day... 4. Yes I was referring to Armored Zombies. Wow so now it's all about level? That kind of sucks.. I mean I suppose it's fair enough but I think it was much easier how it was before and if there's no definitive way to know how much exp most things give now, then it'll make things confusing for me... 5. Wow you're right I totally didn't realise that 100% protection prayers are gone. That blows! I mean I can understand why they removed but them aargggh that's so annoying haha! I know there are other prayers now that defend against 2 types of attacks or something but man that really stinks. Ape Atoll DEFINITELY wouldn't be a good place to train any more now then as you can't get food there pretty much at all. 6. Thanks, I'll focus on making some money first and see if it's worth taking something degradable there. Might just opt for a full set of dragon, although much more expensive in the long run. I can't remember how much it was to fix Bandos, I think with the Armor repairer in your own house it was like 140k if you were maxed or something. It wasn't much. 7. Wow nuts, yew trees suck now? I suppose that's understandable we got those Blood tress, or whatever now plus Crystal trees etc. Eventually things are just going to get upgraded and older things will be worse. If I had a real dollar for every Yew log I ever cut... 8. At this stage I can't see many bots in F2P (but I haven't looked) and I definitely can't see many advertisers. 9. AFK options for levelling skills? I can't have heard that right? What does all the old school players think of that, that sounds like madness! Do we still have the 'fair trade' system? Or did they remove that completely.. Can I now trade someone a billion gold without them having to give me something worthwhile in return? Yeah I just got an Angel of Death gravestone before I quit. I am not sure if they are still the best or whatever but I definitely loved that system of having a gravestone. Wow it's 40 minutes now? I think it was like only TEN before or something... I suppose some areas though in the game now are far harder to get to than before. Thanks also for your reply mate.
  4. Thanks a lot for the reply mate! Here are my stats: I put my name in the first post so people could check leaderboard but anyway there are my stats. I would really like to max out all combat skills first. Prayer isn't so important but I definitely want maxed out combat. I know that I am pretty close to getting it done. I know there are things like Spring Cleaner and other Gnomish devices and things for small amounts of exp but are they even worth using? I mean like I'd love to train more things than once but I don't want to have to leave an area for nothing. So whole areas of the game have been replaced by newer ones? I mean that, in like, it's no longer worth it going to older areas? I know that a lot of people liked training on these zombie things once. You had to start a quest to be able to go to the area with them, and I think the entrance was in the wildi but if you could get there with some noob armor and then go down a ladder it wasn't wildi anymore and you could kill these zombies for exp. They had a lot of health or something and they dropped runes or at least something else, I don't remember what. Are there any updated leveling guides or anything on this site? I suppose I'll go have a look for them. Ape Atoll method was well. You start monkey madness. Put on your best prayer gear (you're using prayer here so good gear doesn't matter). Something like 'Gilded White' would be fine, or even just monk robes. Then put on your best attack stuff. Fury, whip, dragon defender etc. Then go to where the Gorillas are in Ape Atoll and basically just kill them with maxed out prayer stats. You would protect from melee and then just slaughter gorillas. They had a high defence but really high HP. I guess there would be better ways now. But that was a way for people to train literally from like 55 to 99 back in the day without you even needing any money. The only downside was that you had to start monkey madness and do it for awhile and you had to survive getting there (if you hadn't finished the quest and got the teleport for the place) and you also had to make sure you didn't accidentally let your prayer run out because you got hit like a truck and they could corner you and kill you. Dying almost always meant that if you hadn't finished the quest and couldn't teleport there, that you had no chance of getting your items back. Plus you couldn't make any money there, they just dropped 'monkey bones' which give the tiniest amount of prayer exp. Could you point me to a guide with waterfiends? Is the areas packed? How many people still play this game, are places with Yew Trees and stuff still completely packed? I heard that Jagex removed a lot of worlds to push people together. So it's about the same. I think the most people I ever saw online was like 112,000 back when I played. Looks like there's only 36,000 people playing now. Wow..... Anyway basically I want to level up my Melee first, get some money and then go about leveling up other skills like Hunting and stuff. So any help on combat and money making would be great. P.S. Funnily enough one of the main reasons that made me consider coming back is the fact that they FINALLY after like 5 years finished Priffdinas. I wanted more than anything to get into that place. I spent like 60% of my time on my entire account in Llyeta and I'll finally get to see what it's like inside there now.
  5. Okay so wow. I've been so long since I played RS. Sure, not TEN YEARS but it's been probably about 5 or so. The last significant update they did when I played, was when they added Summoning. I logged in today and saw that there's even new skills such as Divination etc. I can't believe how much the game has changed. Frankly I lost total interest in playing it when it started to become like so many other Pay-2-Win games and the started complicating the combat system. It was around the time that health went from 0/99 to 0/990 I felt at the time that it's been so badly ruined. Like they tried to change it and make it 'better' to stop people from leaving, but then inadvertently made it worse and tons of people still left. Anyway, please help me get used to this game again. There's so much difference now really. Wow. My in-game character is 'Suomi Angst'. I would like to start playing again, and I will buy a membership. In game I would focus on: 1. Making some money quickly. 2. Buying some good gear and armour. (The last 'best thing' I remember was the Abyssal whip). --------- 3. Maxing out Attack, Str, Def, etc. 4. <I can work the rest out from here I think> Please tell me the absolute best ways to do this for someone my level. I felt that they used to be. Max prayer > Ape Atoll > Farm gorillas. (Is this still a good idea or are there far better ways?) It wouldn't hurt to make some money at the same time. I'm 115 (F2P) combat. Also have certain enemies like Green Drags and Abyssal Demons had a damage buff? Like if I go attack stuff with 5 year old gear. Like full set of Bandos or something, will I get 'rekt' immediately? Thanks a lot. Please also mention any other tips or info you can. Thanks.
