  1. Software mode is bloody terrible anyway. If you are using a machine which can only support software mode, it is not Jagex's problem. This is 2013, therefore, a $250.00 Walmart tower can run RS in OpenGL or DirectX. If you don't have $250.00, McDonald's hires anyone who can make it to work on time a few times a week. You can buy a 30 dollar video card from an online retailer if your motherboard has a PCI/PCIe slot, which can run DirectX or OpenGL at a high resolution and max settings or minimum settings as well. Software mode limits what they can add to their engine anyways. Adding something like ambient occlusion in their software renderer would require hundreds, even thousands of lines of codes as each pixel has to be calculated and manipulated to get accurate readings. In native coding, it can be done in much less and runs much faster as well as reduces work load the CPU has to do for other things in the game. The time spent adding features to something a Blackberry 8800 could run could be better spent on the HTML5 engine or moving towards the future and not the past.
  2. Yeah, but then most of them will leave Main RS and leave you guys with a better enviornment. Are you really that naive? Before I was putting it down to a lack of forum experience, but now I see you're completely delusional. First of all, Gold Farmers need bots right? The only working bot for the 474 client is SCAR which is now dead. The only possible bot people could use is SIMBA but it needs to be programmed for the 474 client. Okay maybe I was being naive excuse me for that but look at least it would improve the situation. The problem with todays Runescape is that it's just tooo damn easy to bot. Download the bot, enter your information, click play, and you are set. SCAR and SIMBA are extremely complex to use. So when a lot of players leave regular RS for the old RS, the gold farmers will lose even more possible future customers. So RSGP will have really no value and in a way Gold Farmers will decrease. They will shift their balance to the old RS servers and trust me there will be a difference in the amount of Spam bots. Where there is a possible source of money, there will be someone there. It would take any person who has previously hacked or modified the RS client from back then, or is competent with Java, about 3-5 hours to write a basic updater and bot client without any modern protections. Hopefully they are competent enough to use their newer obfuscator to protect the client and encrypt the applet. It would increase that time to about three days for something stable. I've already gathered the a collection of data over the best training locations/methods and money sources from that era and I have a basic layout of how I am going to train. I am not sure if they are going to release the August 28th client where GWD was first released or not, but if so I want to be able to do GWD within the first week of release. I will be farming Barrows otherwise.
  3. This was quite a surprise seeing that on Reddit this morning. It will be interesting to see the results. I wonder if they are going to do an email newsletter to reach the non-active players.
  4. I hate it when stuff like that doesn't even show up in patch notes :( If it doesn't show up on patch notes or not mentioned on the forums, treat it as a bug and report it. Perhaps they will address it if they see 10,000 people sending in bug notes about something which was ridiculously nerfed when there are so much more things which should be higher priority like GWD and the QBD. I guess the market doesn't matter as much.
  5. Zaros is Austin Powers? Austin "Danger" Powers. Anyways, I was disappointed that the combat experience did not include summoning and Mod Ash stated it was due to how prayer and summoning would be more difficult to calculate. They could simply add a lower, flat rate like they do for prayer at the dominion tower.
  6. Down to 180 crimsons per hour from 250-300. Down to 60k experience per hour from 350-400k. I don't see why they nerfed them as the Ghorrok location requires doing most of the quests in the game to even access as well as to obtain those rates, you need 92/96 herblore and 95 prayer. I guess working towards end-game has no benefit anymore. Back to camping botterfiends. Edit: How in the hell was it bug abuse? They have been at those previous rates since November when EoC came out. If Jagex really thought it was a big deal, they would've hotfixed it when it was brought up on the HLF within a week.
  7. Here is some nostalgia https://www.youtube....eature=view_all Here is some other things which happened in 2006 while you were sitting on your computer, killing someone in-game: [spoiler=Things]A hotel in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, collapses, killing 76 pilgrims visiting to perform Hajj An Egyptian passenger ferry carrying more than 1,400 people, sinks in the Red Sea off the Saudi coast. A massive mudslide occurs in Southern Leyte, Philippines; the official death toll is set at 1,126. A fire at the Brand India Fair, Victoria Park, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India, kills at least 100. A 6.3 magnitude earthquake strikes central Java in Indonesia, killing more than 6,000, injuring at least 36,000 and leaving some 1.5 million people homeless. Pulkovo Airlines Flight 612 crashes near the Russian border in Ukraine, killing 171 people, including 45 children. Gol Flight 1907 (Boeing 737-800) collides with a business jet over the Amazon Rainforest, killing all 155 on board. A series of car bombs and mortar attacks in Sadr City, Baghdad, kill at least 215 people and injure 257 other people. Can we move on? Are you guys still going to be pissed off about change in 15 years? No.
  8. They buy for 2m each on the GE. They make the KK and the QBD pretty simple to kill for meleeing. You can toggle/flash the scrimshaw by setting it on your actionbar and it makes it last way longer than 3 hours. I've done about 15 hours of PVM on mine with 1 hour of time remaining.
  9. While this would be good, there are a few concerns which have been addressed already. What about instead of rewarding with experience directly, add bonus experience which requires work to actually benefit from the lamps?
  10. As far as I can see you are have either really bad luck or are doing something wrong. As I look to your log usually only one ship succeeds out of three. If it's not just bad luck, it also could point to mistakenly sending the wrong ship with a lower succes rate on a voyage. If you send out a ship from the shipyard menu, not from the ship menu, you usually have to select the right ship to send out. After sending out two ships, you can't go wrong anymore, so that ship has the intended succes rate, explaining the 1/3 succes rate. Then again, it could just be really bad luck. Everything is double checked and sent from the shipyard. I verify the boat ID, success rate, and results and enter it into a simple application to log it. I just think I am Bad Luck Brian of PoP. What's your sample size now? 20. I will track until I hit 100 in a week or so then provide a better dataset.

  12. Here are my voyage logs from the past two days: *== VOYAGE EXPORT - 1/10/2013- 19:28:34 Range[1, 16] ==* Voy# Date Boat Percent Result 01.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 1 - 086% - Fail 02.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 2 - 097% - Pass 03.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 3 - 088% - Fail 04.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 1 - 094% - Fail 05.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 2 - 091% - Fail 06.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 3 - 100% - Pass 07.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 1 - 086% - Fail 08.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 2 - 097% - Pass 09.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 3 - 086% - Fail 10.) 1-09-2013 - Boat 1 - 082% - Fail 11.) 1-10-2013 - Boat 2 - 091% - Fail 12.) 1-10-2013 - Boat 3 - 085% - Pass 13.) 1-10-2013 - Boat 1 - 080% - Fail 14.) 1-10-2013 - Boat 2 - 083% - Fail 15.) 1-10-2013 - Boat 3 - 081% - Fail 16.) 1-10-2013 - Boat 2 - 099% - Fail Most of my missions in the Scythe are 7-8,000 across the board or 13k+ in a single attribute. In the region before, they are still about the same. I can't get enough Cherrywood to get the hulls as the failures usually use what I do get. I am starting to dislike PoP.
  13. I keep on failing about 75% of the missions with 80-99% success. Out of the last 15 missions, I have failed 10 of them, with the lowest being 84%. I am 40% towards the bowl region. Because of all of the failures, I never obtain more than 500 of any resource. This is starting to piss me off.
  14. Thomas Edison once said "If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward." That is something which relates to coding in today's time. If you are using the OpenGL llibrary which is included in to most compilers, then make sure you are linking the OpenGL32 library. With LWJGL, you have to make sure the libraries and native libs are in the path. You can see this page or one of the others within the wiki for setting up LWJGL with eclipse or just checking which libraries are needed for minimal usage.
