More Books: First Edition, Signed, Oldies

Posted by tripsis, 08 April 2012 · 1,064 views

===The Oldies===

Not necessarily first editions or even valuable books, but just old books. Old books are awesome :P

Pride & Prejudice

The Iliad

Count of Monte Cristo (in 3 volumes)

These are probably the most fragile books I have. The pages practically crumble in my hands.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through The Looking Glass

===First Editions===

First edition AND first printing of the book.

The Sight (First American Edition)

Firesong (First American Edition)

I didn't bother photographing these.. I guess because these are the ones I either don't care about or I'm just not that proud of.

  • The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown (First Edition, First Printing)
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling (First American Edition, First Printing)
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling (First American Edition, First Printing)
  • Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling (First American Edition, First Printing)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling (First American Edition, First Printing)
  • Luthiel's Song by Robert Marston Fannéy (Signed)
  • Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (First Edition, First Printing, no cover jacket) - I have no idea why I have this.. I found it hidden away in the back of my bookshelf, saw it was a first edition, went wtf. Then cried inside because I don't have the cover jacket. With the cover jacket it'd be worth at least a few hundred USD.
  • The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich (First Edition, First Printing)
Still more I have yet to look through!

You have such an awesome book collection! Old books are awesome, especially when they're such classics.

Thanks! :) I agree about old books. Books used to be made with such fine detail, awesome bindings, and cool decorations. Now we do have cool book covers but they're all digital so it's just.. different :P

About tripsis

I'm a 21 year old female splitting my time between California and the UK. I'm currently working toward a degree in Digital Arts in England. I enjoy a variety of hobbies including reading, web design, watching movies, playing games, digital painting, photography and learning new art crafts. For all of my digital painting I use PhotoShop CS5 and a medium Intuos 4 drawing tablet. I absolutely LOVE animals and have a five year old Applehead Siamese/Domestic Shorthair mix cat named Willow :) Eventually I'd love to get a Border Collie and a Rottweiler because they're the coolest!

I listen to a variety of music and therefore have many favourite bands, but just to name a few: Muse, Anna Nalick, Eminem (only Encore & The Eminem Show), Orianthi, Taylor Swift, Nickelback, Carrie Underwood, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I also watch many different kinds of movies. I like the romantic girlie movies as well as the more manly action/thriller movies :XD: Some of my favourites are 300, Pride & Prejudice, Moulin Rouge, The Boondock Saints, Shooter, Law Abiding Citizen, King Arthur, Star Wars, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Public Enemies, The Bourne series, Die Hard series, The Ugly Truth and others.

In the past I'd never watched much TV. I might watch an episode of CSI or House now and then, but I never got hooked on anything.. until I met Peter and he got me completely hooked on House AND Heroes. Who knows what's next on his list of "what to get Ashley addicted to."

I started playing RuneScape in around 2004. I have played off and on since joining, often taking months off at a time. My favourite skills are Construction, RuneCrafting and Farming.

I joined the Tip.it Forums in 2005. About a year after joining the Tip.it Forums I was invited to become a forum moderator. After a few months of moving up the moderator ranks, I became an administrator. I resigned from this post in mid-2008.
