  1. Your ranged and magic levels are low, like really low. Don't bother using those against him until around 60.

With those stats stab is the best style to use. If you want a kratonite spear I can smith you one.

Can you also use protect from magic? It helps somewhat.

In general though, Har'Lakk is an extreme pain for low levels, because his minimum combat is 84. As you get higher (80+) he becomes easier to handle.

I can smith them too :) I got a kratonite battleaxe bound, which is why I hadn't have the spear :(

I realize my stats are low (hence my f2p combat maxed main) but I was able to like kill ALL dung bosses until this one :( I thought there were hints I was missing :(

Perhaps you should train combat a bit more before you start dunging. Training doesn't take very long when you are at lower levels and dungoneering really isn't designed for players at lower levels.

yea I could :P But I don't like the normal training, and if I do normal training I do that on my main. He has unbankbable items (f2p bank 50 items overstock) and that's why I can't dung on that account anymore :(

Thanks to both of you though :)

  2. I'm playing on my noob account:

    Attack 30

    Strength 24

    Defence 29

    HP 30

    Ranged 18

    Magic 17

    My combat is 31

I just had the boss Har'lakk, combat lvl 84.

I was COMPLETELY unable to hit it, neither survive it. I checked RS wiki and it said weaknesses magic, ranged and stab. I used a marmaros spear (I didn't have the money to get me a krantonite something spear), I tried ranging it until my arrows were all gone and I tried maging it (earth strike, I can't RC chaos runes)

I got my gatestone right at the boss room, I just kept dying (like 40 times) and its hp was down to 66% of full hp. I can hit it twice, maybe triple until I die. Eating is pointless, my best food were tier 3 (heal 70) and it hit me 140 all the time.

I tried all armour, marmaros full, wildercress and protoleather. None were effective.

So, how am I supposed to kill this :S?

  3. Don't burst, barrage or waterfiend or wyvern.

    Are waterfiends faster?

Waterfiends are faster once you get an iron titan. Wyverns are always faster but you need turmoil or a unicorn, high stats etc.

I'm melee maxed, will soon have a rapier and I have access to piety. If that's okay?

  4. They are more worth it for the $ spent and you can make the $ back. Same with barrage but it isn't direct money back. The money back from Barrages is more free time after done with everything to make $ back.

I'm 99% sure you are still going to lose money even if you burst.

Meh :D if i have yaks and then I can bank all my infernal ashes, blue hides, dragon bones etc etc, I think I'll make my cash back in no time :D

  6. the first one is not wrong actually, they will still heal jad after you attack them IF they are close enough to him and within melee range of you.

So, if you're standing close to Jad, and they're hitting you, they will send a healing spell to jad every 3rd hit they do.

That being said, it is still much better to hit them, because if you don't, they heal him every combat turn, instead of every 3rd, also, you can trap a couple of them on each other so only 1 or 2 are actually able to hit you, so only 2 of them are still healing jad, at a much slower rate.

    Ah :P i hope i'll make it :D

  7. I already have a fire cape but I noticed now the following on rs wiki:

    http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/TzHaar_Fight_Cave

"A hidden update now allows the Yt-HurKots to heal TzTok-Jad while they are attacking you. "

    http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/TzHaar_Fight_Cave/Strategies#Ranged-only_method

"# The four level 108 healers will appear when Jad is at half health. If they healed TzTok-Jad back to full health and are then killed, they will respawn; otherwise not. They don't have to be killed to complete the Fight Cave. "

Should they be killed now or not? These things seem to contradict?

  8. Hi,

I don't know if this is just bad luck but since I've become a member again (I wasn't a member for 3 months) every world has someone cannoning at dagannoths. Any tips what I should do to either find an empty world or alternatives for my dagannoth task to complete?

    Thanks

    P.S. I hopped for 10 worlds now :s

  9. 1) Use turmoil and overload. Failing that, we go to...

    2) Use turmoil and extremes.

    3) Use piety and extremes or turmoil and supers.

    4) Use piety and supers.

    5) Use 15% attack, 15% strength and supers.

It's important to use boosts versus dragons, they have high defence but not much health.

I'm playing old school on a low fare account :P I don't have the money there for the prayer pots ;p (neither for extremes and turmoil lol)

  10. I remember the old days when people staked rares and kept death matches for one. I don't know if the current crash has anything to do with free trade or just because Xmas is over; but I expect them to become wanted to stake in the future

  11. Imbued onyx ring would be the best but as you can't afford a berserker ring, I suppose you also can't afford an onyx ring :(

To be honest, I never found a warrior ring any worthwile, I'd rather just wear a slayer ring, duel ring or ring of life than a warrior ring.

Maybe you should just make a little money to get a berserker / onyx ring?

zerker (i) is better than an onyx (i) in nearly every conceivable situation.

if op doesn't want to buy a zerker, then a warrior is second best. in the time he'd spend collecting tokens for a vigour, he could make the money for a zerker, so vigour is out.

Out of curiosity, has someone worked it out whether an onyx ring (i) or berserker ring (i) has the best DPS? I have the feeling I train faster with increased accuracy than with increased strength, though haven't really timed it so don't take this answer for the sake of arguing.
