  1. Soooo... I borrowed this game from my brother... and I'm not impressed. Finished the campaign in four hours, Spec Ops survival is fun, but gets old quick... and multiplayer has way too many campers and insta-kills to be any fun. So many times I've rounded a corner and been killed immediately, only to watch the KC and see the guy spray wildly. And last stand... ugh. Feels just like MW2 with different guns. Puts CoD4 to shame IMO.

If you play TDM or groundwar you're bound to get campers, but I mostly play Demolition now since most people tend to go towards the bombs, so there's very few campers most of the time. I feel you on the last stand issue though, it should be just completely out of the game.

Some info about Black Ops 2 was leaked recently and it was stated that there will be no last stand (of any form), and no death streaks. So hopefully that will end some of this madness.

It's a Treyarch game though so they'll find some way to still make it shit.

  2. Well, had a bad time tonight. After having been invited by a friend to a party and playing with them, had a small fight with my friend's friend, and he decided to "hostboot" me. Good thing that I have a fiber internet connection and he was only able to ddos me for 10 seconds at a time, but he wouldn't stop doing it. I have changed my IP, filed a complaint agains't him on xbox live, as well as giving him a bad review, and also contacted Xbox Live support with my Internet browser to make sure he would get consequences. I also contacted my ISP, and am wondering if I should really go through sending an email to my ISP to get his IP traced and either he gets a letter from his ISP or the police shows up at his door since ddos is highly illegal here. Guess I might give him a chance, just once, but this kind of kid just annoys the hell out of me.

Host booting? How does that work (unless it's illegal/against the rules to tell)?

It is illegal. They sniff the IP of the host (or everyone's ip if they are the host) and then attack their connection with a dos/ddos attack. Both of them are illegal.

Seems like you're overreacting a bit tbh.

  3. Yeah I know what you mean. That wasn't Grunt for me though i'm sure.

He shows up during that arc, but on another planet. Something about Krogan scouts, I think...

You don't get a Krogan squadmate though.

I thought he died in ME2. Oh well.

  4. Just started playing this the other day, I don't really understand how the theatre of war works other than the fact by completing side missions you gain more forces for your army. Also, what's up with so many dudes saying they have husbands!? Haha

There is a console in the war room with a bar on it, has military rating and effective military rating. You want effective to be over 5000 for the best ending, then supposedly there are different steps down from there. To get over 5000 you have to play some multiplayer, since there is less than 10000 possible in single player, and the 50% comes from the multiplayer score.

Before I started playing multiplayer this was the only thing that I thought was stupid with the game. I never play multiplayer, ever, so I would normally never be able to get the "best" ending in single player, which is just ridiculous. It doesn't bother me much now though since I did play some multiplayer, and found it fun, so now I have 100% readiness and still play it :)

Ah i see how it is. Btw if Grunt survived in the last game was he supposed to be in this one? Just wondering if the characters who died in your ME2 save effect this one. I can't even remember who survived in my ME2 playthrough though.

Yea, Grunt appears on Tuchanka I think, but can die there if certain choices are made.

    On an unrelated note...

[spoiler=This video contains spoilers of the ending of ME3.]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDSwW7jflAQ&feature=player_embedded

Yeah I know what you mean. That wasn't Grunt for me though i'm sure.

Can you even get a Krogan squad member? If so I haven't unlocked one yet, and I want one. :o

  7. I'm not gonna get my hopes up, it'll probably just be pushed back again.

Nah, not when Blizz releases a definite date like this. It's happening. It seems like the thing that's held it back a lot is them trying to balance the PvP stuff, but now that they've decided cut out that part from the release (it'll be added in a later patch) they can focus on just fine-tuning everything else which, at this point, is pretty much done.

I've been playing the beta, and while I don't like how they've dumbed it down in order to appeal to a wider audience/console players, I'm still preordering the shit out of this. Playing Diablo 2 with my friends back in the day is one of my fondest gaming memories.

Weren't all the older "release dates" definite though? Idk I haven't really kept up with it much. I really loved Diablo 2 but this has just taken so long I can't keep a major interest in it, i'll still get it, but I can't say i'm overly excited. How did you get the beta though?

I don't think they've released a specific date like this before though, just "oh, sometime next quarter"; at most sort of speculating on a month. Also like I said, two weeks ago they said they'd skip the PvP stuff on release, citing it'll speed things up considerably.

I applied for the beta and was picked.

Hmm, on play.com it did have an actual date named for March a while back.

  9. To add to my list of things that shouldn't be in the game: support killstreaks.

I was just playing a match where I started off 19 and 0. And then a stealth bomber killed me. :wall:

Heh, I did already say that but yeah for real if you're too bad to get killstreaks you shouldn't be given a different set in it's place.

  10. Tactical grenades should just be removed too. So many little kids spamming stuns and shit, bullshit.

They already aren't filling them if you use scavenger, they can only throw 2 per life. I think using them is a sign of skill, and most of the time I see that it's not the kids using them, but people just checking if other people are there, or at least that's how I use flashes.

I don't know about you but I play Ground War because I like the hecticness and more the fast paced gameplay of having the extra 3 per team, and it's really annoying when about 6 kids on the other team and blindly throwing stuns/flashes in the general direction of the other team. I only ever use mine to throw back at the ginnygoats who throw them at me.

  11. MW3 seems to be the only CoD game where you can actually see a person spawn in your line of sight.

Underground on the staircase near A flag. Sit behind the cleaning equipment at one end and they constantly spawn in front of you. I admit, I'll do it when I'm 1-2 kills off a reward.

    Which map?

    I think he means Underground.

Ah I read it as literally underground, lol.

  13. I do fine with 5 classes. I really don't need more.

Also, things that in my opinion should be taken out of the game completely:

    Type 95

Knifing (it's so screwed up and inconsistent it's really just worthless)

Shotguns (or at least their ability to one-shot kill from across the map)

Riot Shield (useless and just annoying in multiplayer)

All noobtubes (underbarrel and things like XM25)

Care package luck (I had a match where the enemy team had 2 care packages total, both were osprey gunners. A 4 killstreak with some luck doesn't deserve a 17 killstreak.)

Maybe more. Anyone agree that these things are overpowered/just don't belong in the game? They make gameplay unfair and frustrating...

    Support

    POINTstreaks

    DEATHstreaks

    (Anything to help bad players)

  14. Been playing some dropzone, it's fun, but it's a shame that all the points you make in the score doesn't translate into XP.

    Pretty sure it does.

If it does, please explain why I don't get 4k XP for the 4K points I sometimes get from holding the dropzone.

You don't get XP for holding the DZ, only for kills from what I know. That's what I don't really bother holding the DZ, but it's a game mode that's easy to get 40+ kills a game so it can still yield good XP.

You are the worst kind of person

    Nothing wrong doing whatsoever.

  15. I have a Netgear Rangemax dg843pn, and i'm trying to figure out how to give my PC and 360 priority of usage over my brothers stuff as he makes me lag badly lately. I have no idea about this side of computing though so most of the stuff I see on 192.168.0.1 means nothing to me. Can anyone please tell me how to do this?

    Cheers

  16. Going back to the next CoD, if anything they should be talking about nerfing/removing [bleep] grenades rather than sniping.

Grenades are already nerfed enough, you have to almost stick them with semtex to get the kill, if you get what I mean.

[bleep] grenades, not normal ones :P
