  1. What Timezone is your clan?

    EST

What Timezone are you personally in?

    EST

What do you like about warring in your personal Timezone?

    lol

What do you dislike about your personal Timezone?

    that everyone isn't on it

If you could choose another Timezone to live in what would it be and why?

    wouldn't

  2. Runehead/RSC/Curse had such a monopoly on the clan world a new memberlist would have done nothing to make tip.it more prominent.

Nothing to make tip.it more prominent? Serious..? The fact that clan officials would HAVE to visit tipit to use their tipit ml on at least a weekly basis should be enough to convince you. It's all about giving people a reason to come here (..as well as return).

  3. The difference is huge so comparing the two is nearly pointless, however I will humour you and explain them. A Jagex worker in their role as staff generally has no links with the public, bar the community management team. This means there is no need for them to know such details, as once somebody has served their time, unless in a role which brings them into contact with children, it should remain in the past. Staff are also not often know, again, bar community management and high profile developers. When one leaves, very few people outside of Jagex know. The Runevillage Admin on the other hand, in his role as administrator had very close contact, and a responsibility to have close contact with the public, of which a major portion could be children. The Admin also possibly has unrestricted access to personal details of users of the forum. Unlike Jagex staff leaving, when Runevillage loses it's gold status, it is very public and people notice. Due to this, Jagex had to either give reasons or be subject to wild speculation which could possibly give them very bad publicity.

I'm referring to a Jagex member that would be apart of the community side of things. I assumed that would be a given. All i'm saying is, is that Jagex could have left it to something general, calling the owner out as a "sex offender" wasn't necessary in the situation.

  4. Not sure i agree with Jagex broadcasting that, should have just been Jagex sending that to runevillage, not to the community. Because no one honestly cares runevillage isn't a "gold" site. They now just care that there's a sex offender that owns it. Makes it look like Jagex just going the extra mile to diss on runevillage.

If jgaex didn't say anything theories would spread and jagex would get dissed for demoting a site for no reason.

Also they need to make it clear they are no associated with such people, it could effect investment given they are aimed at the teen market.

So you think if someone employed by jagex was found to be a sex offender jagex would send out a post "making clear" of the situation? Or do you think they'd quietly fire the person and internally deal with it? I'd imagine the later of scenarios to happen.

  5. 6) clan memberlists, what? you must have really been in hibernation, why would anyone waste the manpower to make memberlists when runehead (funding through RSC/curse) and Jagex (infinite resources) have done it already

Why would anyone waste the manpower to make a clan community when RSC and Jagex have done it already? Your mentality is terrible. I don't know the goal of this community anymore (not sure anyone does..), but if this clan section wants to be something it has to step out and throw a service that's better than what is offered. As for resources, tipit was on the edge of releasing one which was ready to the point of allowing clan leaders to test it out. Personally i felt it was much finer than runehead's and, if released when it was expected to, I think runehead would probably be shut off today.

    4) you say you dont play rs and im assuming youre also not in a clan yet you post here like youre a part of the community when looking through topics i havent seen you post in months...in fact it only seems to happen that you pop up when you smell some drama....but more on that later

Just to back Gamerr here.. the man has put many hours into this community, as a staff member and regular member. In no way is he here just here to throw stones. It's great to see new users come here and involve themselves into discussion but don't come in here blindly calling out veteran users.

  6. Tyler the Creator wins best new artist @ the VMAs. SWAG.

Yeah.. shoulda been wiz's though. Or big sean's.

Wasnt impressed with Watch the Throne or Tha Carter 4. Both had some good hits but the just overall albums weren't Kanye/JayZ/Wayne quality.

  7. Headphones. Though i don't actually own any as i have more practical uses for earbuds and not enough $ to spend on quality earbuds and headphones.

  8. It's only in beta now, but it's somewhat popular so far. I've used it the past few days and it's been quite entertaining. Opened my eyes to some new music as well. As i'm too lazy to write up my own; here's a summary from gizmodo.com:

Turntable is a musical chat room. You like talking to your friends. You like playing your favorite songs. You like hearing good songs you didn't pick. Turntable puts all of these nice things into one cartoonish online dance floor. Five DJs at a time queue up tracks of their choosing, while everyone else sits back and enjoys. Or doesn't enjoy! If a dud comes on, the audience can vote it off the speakers with enough dislike clicks. Or if a DJ's playing good stuff, you can reward them with likes, which translate into points, which are worn around as a badge of distinguished taste.

    http://turntable.fm/ <- the actual website

Says invite only but if you have a facebook you're good to go, i believe. Try it out if you can.

  9. What are your views about clans who reopen under the same name - should they? Shouldn't they?

Depends. If it's the same leadership, same name is fine. I've always been for the new clan though as there's a reason it didn't work last time or just the simple fact that it won't be the same clan. So basically, in my opinon, it's all dependent on the situation.

How would you react if, in the future, your current clan closed but then reopened?

Being the founder of the clan, I'd advise against it but I wouldn't care too much.

Have you seen any examples of clans reopening and being successful? Or opening under a different name and being successful?

Many times. The clan I founded is based off a previous clan. And even then, that previous clan was successful when they reopened a few times. We were fortunate to have such a strong, loyal community and that's why it has worked for the community i'm involved in. This seems to be a common thread through "reborn" clans. Relating to the example popularly used in this topic, Shadow elves had a very strong community and it has overlapped into solace.

  10. I'm seeing the appeal in Tyler, the creator. All he does is grunt and talk slow. I don't know how the man got a record deal, let alone thousands of fans.

Assuming you meant that you didn't see the appeal in him.

    <video>

I don't see how this is talking slow or grunting at all or whatever. warning: he insults kid cudi

Yea, my bad. Didn't bother to listen, but i was mainly referring to his hits in his new album. He's just not my type, i guess. Insulting kid cudi though? That should blacklist anyone in the music industry lol.

Loving MMG's new album "Self Made". A lot of the songs sound very similar (as anything rick ross touches does?), but nonetheless, great listen. Love Wale, the man kills it.

  11. There are a lot of "armchair complainers" around here. You somehow expect the clan staff to magically make people start posting when you don't even post yourselves...sorry, but we're not miracle workers.

Gotta look at both sides though man. There's been a lot of suggestions ignored over the rebuilding process of tipit (last couple years), a lot of people wanting to help that have been pushed away. How long do you expect people to stick around and stay active if they don't get catered by the staff? Because they won't, gotta cater to the clans (..more so clan leaders) if you want them to stay active. Also, clan staff has to lead by example. That's one of the main reasons for their existence.

As for Pan, this is your last warning, I'm getting sick of the attacks on the staff.

Last warning? This is my first warning bro. You're overreacting, but your new on the job, so that's understandable i guess. For the facts that you called me out on a thread and your just a CL, makes me taking you serious impossible. Learn to PM

  12. I'd like to respond of this. I know you guys do a lot of work behind the screens, but why aren't there updates of what you do? You don't have to go into detail, but a topic every few weeks with thoughts, suggestions that are being worked on by the staff would be handy. Some sort of voice where the staff explains to everybody what their views are on the past few weeks, on the new wilderness, ... I miss that here.

I also think you shouldn't keep a CL in place who hasn't even logged in in 2011, if you keep staff that is inactive (for whatever personal or not personal reason) too long listed as staff, people have a wrong idea of the size of the current active staff.

    *whistles*

This is tipit CD. To get your suggestion acrossed you must not only whistle, but also stand atop a table and scream.
