Also, while we're on the topic of equipping/unequipping, is it worth unequipping range chaps/body (with hex bound ofc) while in melee gds for fewer misses or is that too much hassle?
Depends on the monsters in the gd. If it's just melee-able stuff left, yeah I would always take the armor off. More accuracy + deflect damage.

lol some random people wanted to see me get 117 so i did
-
There are a lot of bosses where I'd rather have the magic defense of the hood over +2 accuracy.

Re-posting this. I added this information to the ranks section of the guidelines, as we use the corporal rank (two stripes) because of it.
Research is a major focus of DGS, and we're starting a DG Guide/Databook over at TEF.
Normally I collect data on my own, and pay money to a few players to help.
But I neither have enough free time on my hands nor enough GP in my bank to put into such a large project.
If you would like to volunteer, PLEASE CONTACT ME, through PM preferably.
There are details we need to go over before you collect your data.
Last thing I want is someone collecting data that ends up being useless.
I basically need you to count the # misses and non misses you hit on various monsters
The list of monsters we're interested in is here
So I actually really need people's help now.
Anyone that provides 2000 total data points to the log, or 1000 data points to a single monster in the log, will be given a 2 stripe rank as thanks for their contributions.
This does not particularly apply to wingmen and keyer ranks, but I still expect these people help with research as well.
I personally will be spending dozens of hours collecting data once I'm done maxing.
That being said: Please don't go about collecting data in the middle of larges though, unless the rest of the team is okay with it.
And thank you for the help of any volunteers that contribute.
And once again:
If you would like to volunteer, PLEASE CONTACT ME, through PM preferably.
There are details we need to go over before you collect your data.
Last thing I want is someone collecting data that ends up being useless.

Updated the wingman section. Hopefully it's a little more specific now:
-Wingmen / Wingwomen:Wingmen are lieutenants (bronze stars) in the clan chat. Wingmen are recommended by keyers and ultimately chosen by admins based on their skill and knowledge of dungeoneering. There is no formal application or test - rather, the potential wingman should do his/her best to perform the functions of the rank in order to be noticed and recommended by keyers. All keyers (ranked or not) should designate at least one wingman at the start of every floor.
The wingman will serve several functions in support of the keyer:
- In the case that the keyer disconnects, the wingman becomes the default keyer.
- The wingman must watch the team closely so as to make corrections or give advice to teammates on efficient room-clearing. Similarly, wingmen must possess knowledge of combat mechanics such as side-stepping, trampling, and safe-spotting so as to teach their teammates as necessary.
- The wingman should direct the team in the absence of the keyer. For example, the wingmen should be able to assign paths, tasks, or gates to teammates (unless the keyer says otherwise, of course). This includes breaking the team up if more than one person is at a puzzle or running a path, which is usually unnecessary.
- The wingman must be able to educate the team on efficient puzzle-solving, which means knowing how each puzzle works and the various tricks to speed them up.
- The wingman must possess miscellaneous knowledge such as efficiently making potions, ranged armor, ragers, and altars, which means making them without losing time or impeding the progress of the floor.

When can I get a dunge with some of you? Im sick of all the [developmentally delayed]s in W117, took me a week just to get 73-74 dunge because they all rage quit and dont do anything. :\
Whenever you'd like.

wow nice now we can never see your uniform
I was in my civilian clothes. :P We met up for an hour before I had to go to work.
-
pretty soon you'll be 99 matt marche
-
We never took a picture. :(
-
What about unequipping it for fighting primal warriors? Since you need the crush accuracy?
Note: I do get why it's 2H+Hex.
I would do this with any armor for the deflect damage, but yes.

Pfsh, I just did a sub-18 necro floor with Pure, Pfoh, Bladekill, and Stan yesterday. I'm not letting myself get rusty. ;)

;-;
I've been busy all weekend with work, but I have the whole week off (yay...), so I'll be revising both the mission statement and the wingman section sometime this week. PROMISE.

-13 level mod who mad
didn't even get curse
Tbh we got Ballaks no lie
Also how much different is abd1, actually?
abnd1 floors are so ridiculously easy. Aside from getting cursebearer 24/7, the monsters in general just seem easier/weaker.

i had read the guidelines i was wondering why i was kicked
You'll have to ask the person who kicked you, though you should've been given a reason before you were kicked. There are links to every chat mods' TIF profiles in the guidelines.

Worked all day. My coworkers have been feeding this opossum for a few weeks and it comes back and just chills in the storage room every night waiting for food. LOL.
Also, I'm gonna be meeting up with Trey at Disneyland tomorrow before work. Presumably there will be pictures. Yes, we will be wearing clothes. For the most part.
I reeeaaally wish I had a new computer.

Umm tbh I don't think practicing on meds will make larges go faster. It will work to a point, but to make larges go faster, you have to practice larges.
Yeah, this. Time to take the training wheels off, Fire Rage.

I voted yes. Don't regret it at all. Bots aren't exactly doing things they couldn't do before, and I don't fall for scams. I don't believe that the problems we have now and free trade are mutually exclusive.
-
It's not practical to use blitzer with a CCS, hence why he didn't take it into consideration.
-
I gave the common abbreviations section its own tab, so it's much easier to find/see now. I also added a few more abbreviations that Our Moon and Michael gave me.
-
Yeah, you can apply to be a keyer regardless of whether or not you can actually "join" DGS, but we would prefer you to hang out in the chat for awhile and get to know people first. We value commitment, after all.
EDIT: Expanded the abbreviations section. Big thanks to Mach One for that.

I honestly blame Mod MMG.

Someday when I wake up in a bathtub full of ice in a dirty motel in the middle of nowhere and my side hurts, I'll think to myself, "/obt/ called it."

Reposting this so everyone sees it.
As Grimy said, DGSers will no longer be allowed to advertise for floors in the clan chat if there are banned players on the team. We haven't had this problem before, but apparently being on the banlist isn't clear enough, so I'm clarifying our position now. It really defeats the purpose of a ban if one can still reap the benefits of DGS, and it's generally unhealthy for the community.
If you're friends with someone on the banlist and you want to dg with them, use 117/148/3BO/UDG/No Quitters/etc. Thank you.

I know at least a few use them. I personally don't because my keyboard is extremely uncomfortable to use as it is. If I had a pro gaming mouse with extra buttons, I'd map my f-keys to those.
