  1. Same problem.  I've asked people in a few clans about this and everyone has said they get it too, so I assume it affects (just about) everyone.  I think it started when Ironman mode was released in October?  At least that was when someone pointed it out to me and I began taking notice of it myself (at the time we both thought it only affected our Ironman accounts, but I've since played on my other accounts and had the same problem).

Dungeoneering is the worst for this.  I have to reset my audio after every single floor, or sometimes every few rooms.

Do you also get it where audio will repeat the same soundbite over and over until you do another audio-producing action to get it to stop?  For example, when I close my bank it plays that door shutting audio clip, but rather than going silent when it finishes it instead keeps playing the very last few milliseconds of the audio clip every ~2 seconds (di-di...di-di...di-di...).  To make it stop I can open and close my bank again (sometimes have to do it a few times), do something else that produces sound (like chop a tree), or reset the audio levels.  This trolls me sometimes and makes me think I'm still chopping at a tree because I can hear the wood chopping audio clip, but in reality my character is just standing in front of a tree stump.

  2. Snowverload is members-only now.  Also it spawned an hour early today and will probably keep doing that as not to interfere with warbands.  (Though, protip: if you go on inactive worlds you can sometimes still find Snowverload; World 115 for example didn't finish him off until an hour and fifty minutes after he had spawned.)

  3. Also, as expected, you don't need to be present for the cracker pull to get the rewards.  I was surprised people actually interpreted it like that, but I guess Jagex could have been more specific.

Once the Cracker is pulled, you will be able to claim a prize - whether you're there when it's pulled, or if you've had to wait another 2 weeks to log in. Santa should be holding onto them for you :)

The only part you'll miss out on is the actual pulling of the cracker - definitely something you want to get in on if you're around, but not the end of the world if you miss it.

That way no one will miss out assuming the goal is reached :)

Idea: once the cracker is pulled, you get the reward whether you were online or not?

Did they actually say that the rewards would only be available to those that participated in pulling it?  I assumed that pulling it was just a cool thing that people got to do if they were lucky enough to be online when it happened, but anyone could claim the rewards from the opened cracker afterwards.

    • Making Unstrung Symbols from level 16 to 99 Crafting is 260,634 bars, netting 15,638,040 GP.

Making Tiaras from level 23 to 99 Crafting is 248,156 bars, netting 7,444,680 GP.

^For anyone trying to weigh whether they want more profit or faster XP.  (It's hard to say which is better.  I'd probably personally end up going with the faster XP of Tiaras so that I could spend less time grinding on this single skill.  However, the added 8M GP can be very useful for Ironmen... though in the long haul is it enough to make up for the added hours or is it trivial?)

  5. For the past week I've been grinding Dungeoneering floors for a few hours each day trying to get this drop (it's the last journal I need and I don't care about getting any actual dg levels anymore, so I decided why not).  Wikia says that it should drop from monsters and bosses every 6 floors (that would put it at floors 25-30), an older RSOF thread said every 4 or low Furnished floors (so that would be 17-20; I didn't add these to my rotation until a few days ago).  To make it faster, two days ago I started C1'ing the floors, but still no luck.  My fear is that I'm doing the wrong floors (given the varying information) and wasting a ton of time.

If someone happens to remember the specific floor they got it on I would love that information so I can grind that single floor over and over with confidence that it'll eventually drop.

EDIT: For any future people that stumble upon this... I gave up after a few more hours.  I feel like the most unlucky person in the world and didn't want to spend another 100 hours (yes, I literally wasted this much time just trying to get this one page) without the guarantee of getting the drop.  I wish you better luck than I had....

I'm a paying member but I can confirm with 100% certainty F2p can earn bonus xp but they cannot use bonus xp.

It's use is a members only feature.

That's what I thought, but F2P friends were claiming otherwise, which confused me.

Over dxpw the bonus xp worked even on F2P (unfortunately nearly all of mine was in Prayer, so it was useless).

I just tested burying a bone, it doesn't give bonus xp anymore.

  7. My F2P gains this weekend..so close to first.  I don't know if anyone's done more Cook xp :P

It looks like you beat out Water's old record for the top spot - this website tracks F2Pers: http://hs.4fan.cz/top_gains.php (Maybe email the owner and ask to be put on, along with your records.)

Unrelated: Is the Grouping System still not working correctly for anyone else?  After today's patch I expected F2P'ers would finally be able to join public groups, yet it still fails to find groups....  I'd be ok with it (though disappointed of course) if they just outright said it's a members-only feature and that it's working "as intended", but as it currently exists it just seems to be a bug that they haven't noticed.

  8. Without actually smithing the steel nails, do there exist other ways to complete Dragon Slayer (on ironman of course)?

There's a spawn for steel nails in the Wilderness (western ruins).

I'm wondering if they also added a way (other than the Wilderness Graveyard spawn) to get Planks as well (I assume this was to cater to Hardcore Ironmen).  EDIT: Nope, both the Varrock sawmill and Burthorpe one don't offer anything.

  9.

Been using my large lamps for mining experience, I'm thinking that it is the worst skill to train for F2P now.

Bank/Drop Iron either @ Dg Resource dungeon

Anyone make a Ironman/Hardcore? Would like to see a Top 250 Hiscores

    OMG Prayer Update!

The method is well-established.  His point was that it's the slowest and most tedious skill on F2P to train :P.  Top 250 F2P Ironman/HC would be fun, but I don't even know if one could gather 250 people playing pure F2P on them at this point...

Clan "Fe" has a lot of F2P ironmen (maybe 75-100), and "Men of Iron" may have enough to fill in the rest.

I'm wondering how many F2P skiller ironmen there are haha (or even p2p ones, I guess).  I knew of only two others; I'm feeling pretty lonely, haha.

Also, this seems pretty monumental (lol): F2P can finally smith steel nails.  (It says members-only on the Skills list, but it works at an anvil.)

  10.

Could someone confirm whether Cremation is/works on F2P?  Because if so, that's one hell of a boost.

    Edit, update coming:

The current 30 minute system reboot counter is for fixing a couple issues:

-Making Death's Door XP lamps redeemable, at a maximum of 5 per day.
-Ensuring players cannot receive Ghostweave before they should be able to, as well as preventing it from appearing in Dungeoneering when this becomes enabled.

Yep, it works in F2P, really nice update.  Big bones 15 --> 38 (37.5 I guess?) xp.

5 lamps is more than enough, awesome.

  11. The hotfix is not that there is a cap of 15000 per day. You can only have 15000 at one time (so buy something and you can get more). There is a hotfix currently out that disables buying the lamps as reward

Also Ironmen don't get bones as a reward from the chest anymore (not sure if there's a daily cap now, or if Ironmen simply won't get bones at all now).

  12. Well, it took only a few hours, most worlds were kinda busy, so there was an abundance of high level ghosts everywhere. Not like at W2, where you can score 340 points every few seconds from the demonics... But still, quite fast all together.

It seems there has been a hotfix and people can now only claim 15k points a day. I'll have to check if they took away my stuff. :s

Did they say that it's 15k/day now?  If so, I guess I'm fine with that.  (When I saw that "currently disabled" message I feared the worst - that they were removing that reward or something.)  EDIT: Hm, I can't buy a lamp on another account even though I haven't purchased any yet....

also would love to know where I can trade my Ethereal stuff. (If there's a popular friend chat or something.)

  13. The first things that came to mind about a new game were either a TCG or MOBA (a MOBA would be amazing, after the 2nd World Event I really wanted one).

I'd be somewhat interested in an Hearthstone-like TCG, but that poll's game premise seems nothing like that and instead looks so damned boring....
