  1. I'm sure stuff like this has happened. It wouldn't be as glamorous, to be sure, but real life is often more insane than fiction.

    Please explain.

That real life is crazy? Watch this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6tB8Lf7YoU

People do this. Those are airplanes. I'd be nervous if I was that close to other cars.

Oh, and look up Percy Harrison Fawcett. His adventures were less of the videogame variety, and shows you how shocking reality is, but they were adventures nonetheless. Or, do some reading into the life of Vladimir Putin.

Now, National Treasure is kind of a silly example. I cannot speak for Uncharted (isn't that basically a handsome videogame Indiana Jones?). But there is crazy stuff out there. You just gotta find it. And deal with all the piles of [cabbage] that follow adventurers. For another example of crazy stuff that exists (I'm going with the work people do I guess, these are just examples that come to my mind): this guy does stuff with motorcycles.

So maybe archaeology is boring. Maybe. Or maybe it's really all kicking ass and dinosaurs and boobies booby traps!

  2. The differences between where I live and the East Coast amaze me. I guess because there's so much wind and so little rain here already, plants and trees must take a tighter hold in the ground, as one article about Irene claimed general winds of 33 mph, gusts of 47 mph. That's average wind in the spring here. However, 7 inches of rain would probably flood this place beyond all recognition. Very interesting.

  3. Wait, an earthquake and a hurricane?

Good luck east coast. I'll be over here in Texas with my mostly sunny 105 degree weather. The worst thing we get is a drought that forces us to only use sprinklers on certain days. OOOooooOOOOooo

C'mon, just because you're closer to the water than me doesn't mean you can't feel the wildfires still going strong.

Good luck to y'all over on the east coast. I can't really understand hurricanes, maybe since I'm used to tornadoes. Just one column of wind rather than a wave. And that kind of rain sounds crazy, it floods here with an inch and a half. This dang hurricane is postponing a talk I need to have with my admissions officer. Still, I'd rather have to wait and everyone be fine than anyone else get hurt.

  4. You can start with a Timex field watch. No more than $30 on Amazon, good enough to last a couple years. Real simple, usually customizable as far as the band goes, and if you decide you're not a watch guy, no big loss.

Of course, if you end up really liking watches, better start saving for your new obsession!

  5. I have a pair of very red 511's cut off into shorts. Oh my god I love them. They were my friend's, so the size is actually really nice (waist is 32, I usually wear a 30). And they're red as [bleep]. I wore them today. Wore them so hard.

  6. I used to wear womens deodorant before switching to Dove Men. Both guys and girls couldn't comprehend how I could smell so nice :P

The reason I switched is because Dove Men smells great combined with a shower and clean laundry. I pretty much smell like cleanliness now.

I hear some women wear men's deodorant because it's more powerful. But I've always seen the opposite to be true... Ach, well, I like my deo. Dio. Me tio. TREEKO

  7. I was hesitant about getting a medium. Fits perfectly, though. I always have trouble with my long monkey arms (I have a size 15 neck, but 36+ length arms), but this handles that problem well while not being massive everywhere else. Not to mention toggles look cool as [cabbage]. I don't care if that trend's out.

Oh, and as for lady perfume, I honestly wear it for myself. [bleep] [bleep]es. It's like carrying around a tiny, beautiful-smelling girl on your neck.

  8. Got a shawl-necked toggle cardigan from Lands' End Canvas today. True navy. Looks soooooo good. Too bad it won't be hot enough to wear it (even though it's pretty thin) for several months.

  9. Hot damn, I love me a 1911. I don't particularly like that one, but to each his own.

My friend gave me an Aurora fountain pen for my birthday. Said his grandparents gave it to him a while back. It's worth some $600. Beautiful pen, can't wait until I really get to write letters here in a year or two. Or get such a horrible meth habit I'm forced to sell it. Or shiv someone with it.

When I wear cologne, I wear either Guess Men for lighter affairs or Armani Code Black when I want lady attention. Sometimes I also use women's perfume for that reason. Haters gonna hate! I don't always use cologne, though. I'm often complimented on how good I smell just me. It's awesome, being beautiful.

  10. I suppose all our politicians can be held responsible in their own ways. This guy who worked on the Council of Economic Advisers this past year (he wasn't some higher-up or anything) spoke at my school last week. He told us how frustrating it was when their suggestions would be sent back

because Congressman A wouldn't support it or Senator B preferred his coffee with double creamer. Which is understandable. Politicians tend to avoid real solutions that might cause them to lose the next reelection.
  11. Battlefield 2 was my favorite game ever. I wanted to kill myself when I last went on Xbox Live and found the servers had been taken down (like a year ago?). Had so much fun with that game. Maybe BF3 will make up for it and fill that gaping hole within me (so to speak).

  12. Haha. I had a dream a couple weeks ago. There was a song playing at a party in this dream. Everyone loved this song. It was dubstep, and the only words you could really hear were "MATT DAMON AND MONEY WOB WOB WAHWAHWAHWAH". So I went to my friend Nester, told him about it, and we made Matt Damon and Money. There is a dance, too. We'll make that one when we can find a camera.

I just think it's fun, yo. And he did a really good job.

  13. damn, Lent you made that song? That's the most excellent drumstep I've heard in AGES

Friend of mine handled most of the technical aspects. I can hardly take credit for its actual creation, just its inception.

As to making money, $100k+ is high, but possible. My brother-in-law started out at 80k (plus some 15k additional starting bonus), is now at something like 130k after two years. Engineer for Exxon. So it isn't exactly far-fetched, especially if OP graduates college after a few years, once the world's (presumably) out of this slump.
