  1. Of course you can, how else will Valve make even more money?

Had a good Spy run today, first in awhile actually. Gone back to Ambassador + IW since everyone has become an idiot Machina/Razorback sniper. Also, I'm becoming very, very fond of my Postal Pummeler + Degreaser combo. I just wish there was a strange Pummeler...

  2. 0.1: Bind Quickswitch to a key (mine is bound to Left Shift)

1: With Diamondback, sap a building and get 1 Reserved Crit

2: Make your way back to your base

3: Taunt in front of a supply cabinet

4: While still taunting, quickswitch to the Enforcer/Revolver of your choice (basically activate the Civilian glitch)

5: If done correctly, you'll have no weapons.

6: Switch to Sapper/Knife to get your weapons back (press 2, 3 or 4).

7: Enjoy unlimited 144's with your Enforcer.

8: Alternatively, enjoy critical Sapper/Disguise Kit...

For extra fun, go to a Saigns server (type 'saigns' into tags in your server browser) and activate premium (type 'premium' into the chatbox) when you're good to go. Yeah, I know Saign servers are piles of [cabbage], but they deserve to be spawncamped.

If you die, just repeat. It doesn't take long.

  3. I'd really like a Tamrielic Relic, except GAME is a [bleep] and put a sort of ban thing on certain games going to Steam. Seriously, if you're gonna buy a game for the PC, why would I go to a waste of land that caters to outdated methods of game sales and even more outdated chunks of crap they call consoles. Steam exists for a reason, and damn right Steam should steal the PC customers away from [cabbage]ty stores like GAME and Gamestation. [/rant]

  4. Go out spawn -> Cloak where no one sees me -> Get shot and burned to death from a Soldier standing across the map -> Cry

General scenario now, whenever I've play Spy. It's so bad I've taken up Battle Medicating w/ Ubersaw

  5. Question is: have valve given these weapons LOD?

At highest quality, the Righteous Bison has 7,013 polygons, and at lowest quality LOD, it has 1,446 so it has a LOD efficiency of 79.38%. Cow Mangler has 6,528 at highest and 1,858 at lowest, giving it an efficiency of 71.53%. Not really good considering 1.8K polygons is still there at lowest quality, but still, it's better than the Lumbricus Lid which has 4,885 polygons (more than the Pyro) and a LOD efficiency of 0%.

And yeah, Tim, I feel your pain. Constant barrages of Lasers, Fire, Milk, Jarate, and God knows what else have really put me off Spying recently... It's quite sad, really, how Soldier just gets these constant buffs whereas classes like Engi and Pyro (and even Medic) are just left with their stock items and a couple of new weapons they got once.

  6. Also, on the target you'd be stalking for the back, I don't get the difference between the C&D and IW. I'd just uncloak with both and follow the guy. If I see a heavy going by with no one behind him, or a soldier or Demo focused on spamming grandades to the front lines of course I'm going to backstab them, I can do the same with both watches right?

In experience, C&D runs out of cloak as I'm running before I can make it effective for Stalk kills. And by the time you've actually killed somebody, there'll be someone trailing behind you and you're cloak is extremely low (making you an easy target because you can really escape far with the C&D).

Also, I don't quite get this point: "A lot of the time, the target you were going to kill would have wandered out of effective range because you're too slow to think". How does a watch influence your reaction time? This one seems kinda nonsensical to be honest.

Again, in experience, when sitting above targets waiting for a leaping stab using the IW, I always get the first target because I'm ready to go (as I'm uncloaked - thus not wasting cloak charge). With the C&D, however, players have this weird additional fear of being caught, so a lot of players will stayed cloaked - it's this that slows you down. You see the target, uncloak, and, by the time you've uncloaked (2 seconds), the target is outside your effective range.

In regards to the last point, isn't that kinda random and not influenced by the clock? I could also say that when I played with the Dead Ringer, I always uncloaked at the very worst time possible, but that doesn't mean it's DR's fault...

I'd think so too, but, due to the amount of time you're spending crouch walking to the spawn, you're also leaving a trail - opening doors, cloak/uncloak sound, and that makes players suspicious. Let's say you open a door and there's a Pyro. You're on half-cloak with the C&D - you can't run far because you'll go into blink cloak, and you can't stand still because the Pyro's flames will catch you. With the IW, you're half empty on cloak. You can run a lot further, and, if near the battle field, pick up and fallen ammo and make a quick escape in several different routes.

Of course, this is all hypothetical, but still. A lot of it happens.

OT: I got a Strange Ambassador today from a friend :3 I love it. It's going to be literally all Sniper w/ Razorback kills, I know it. That's all I use it for. That and taking out Engie's from a distance.

Speaking of taking Engie's down from a distance, on pl_barnblitz, if you're on RED, go to the top of the tower while you're defending the final cap. There's all sorts of beautiful things to snipe with the Amby - charged medic's standing around, Engies and their buildings, and no one checks up there because it's so high up. Of course, once you get a couple of kills, people will realise where you are, but even then the DR is perfect for that situation <3:

Also, H2PM, Jule's furious anger: Pulp Fiction?
