  1. The fastest fishing Xp is barbarian fishing with a granite lobster and urns. C2 fishing it slower than barbarian fishing, but it's okay if you want to do the lower floors, even though you could do 40 second floors if you did 5 man at C1.

You can low alch the fish, but that would be extra cost, it's up to you. If you know how to drop alot of fish without losing ticks, drop them. If you suck at dropping or don't use mousekeys, low alch them.

If you're at 90 fishing and you're getting worse fishing exp c2ing than you are at barb then you're doing it wrong.

  2. The component costs for power and glory amulets come to more than the amount you'd earn from selling them on the Grand Exchange.

And no, high level alchemy returns even less than that figure.

There are also better GP/XP methods for crafting out there compared to diamond or dragonstone amulets. Battlestaves, for one, fit that bill.

Ultimately, you have to recognise that in this game, skilling tends to not return a profit. You raise your skill levels for the sake of XP, quests, or a personal goal. It is almost never the case that you raise them for GP.

@OP : The Task List would be a fun thing to look at, as it's a form of progressive achievement, in a sense. Quests too, I know you're the type who'll enjoy them ;)

EDIT : Tieszen summarised my post, basically.

Figured after lurking for a month since being a regular poster this guy was worth coming out of hiding to yell at.

On topic : task systems, quests and dg are all good. Otherwise I'd say pick a skill to work on per hour and switch it up every hour if burnout is an issue. If burnout isn't an issue pick a skill to work on a day.

  3. Self-sufficiency is bad.

Plus no one uses powers after like 80 cb.

Plus no one uses glories ater like 100 cb.

    No more trolling.

First off, dude, I ain't trolling. In fact, I think you missed a boat-load of logic that should be considered. :ugeek:

Why, you're dense enough to ask, instead of already being enlightened? Self-Sufficiency can be a very good thing. Look at it this way... Would you rather to have the ability to gain gp easily and save some too, or would you rather have to pay through the nose? For me at least, that's a no-brainer, as the self-sufficient, gp-gaining, and therefore gp-saving path would be the one that I would choose any day. Sure, that doesn't mean I can speak for Bows on this, but I would rather towards showing that keeping one's options open and unlocking stuff that can be done is a very good thing to do.

And BTW, Power Ammys are still used in F2P because we don't have all that fancy P2P junk. Bows could easily make a ton of Diamond Power Amulets in some super-efficient P2P spot, come to F2P, and then sell them. Result? Bows walks off with a [bleep]-load of gp, and F2P PK'ers squabble over who is going to have the most of them. A bit mercenary, but hey, it pays the costs!

As for Glory Ammys, Bows can just as easily make some after attaining the levels to make, sell them to sub-100-cb P2P'ers, and also walk off with a nice mint there. Put simply, even if high-level combatants don't use them, there's still the option of taking advantage of the lower-leveled ones and gaining gp for moving along with further goals, if not save a ton as well. ;)

Hedgehog, I bet right about now, you wish you had thought of all of this. Unluckily, you tried to call me something I'm not, and acted very short-sighted. So, pardon me while I walk off with this extra, logic-loaded victory under my belt. Especially since if Bows couldn't sell what they made for any reason, they could still High-Alchemy it. Which reminds me, Bows would also enjoy all those extra levels and extra exp they would be racking up during all of this, for various reasons stated in earlier posts on this thread by myself and others. :D

~Mr. D. V. "Did you REALLY have to make me resort to a logic-filled text wall, and go 'RS Nerd' on you?!?" Devnull

No...just no. There was no logic in anything you posted unless you assume the person you're writing to is a DIY account. Which bows isn't. Killing level three men in edgeville will make more gp/hr than making power ammy's which by the way sell for less than their ingredients meaning you're advice is crap. You're basically telling him to level useless skills in an inefficient way to make less money than he would have killing the lowest level combat mobs in game.

  4. Buy a berserker ring before you buy a fury, fury before bcp, bcp before tassets. Sell torags and the d sq. Use veracs skirt with prossy top if you can't afford all of the above.

Also get either the sw cape, fire cape (best option), or an ardy cape 3 asap.

Ddefender is a must have as well.

    Edit

    Ninjas...

  5. i say spend the 4m from the zerker on somethign else. i dont enjoy the zerker because, yes it does give +4 str(+8 if imbued) but think of it this way. is hitting 500s any different from hitting 515s while PvM? or would you rather have a ring of wealth (charged or else its [cabbage]) and gett maybe d hatchet drops more often. A slight chance is better than none.

So you recommend he not spend the money on the best gp/str bonus item that he listed...

    /facepalm

  6. It's only 2k tokens. I take it on every slayer task I do, and atleast get a couple of gems, so I think it is very much worth it. Those who are saying 'it's a waste of an invent space' - Seriously? It's one spot, you must be doing something wrong while slaying if you end up with a full invent.

    dragons?

    ashes?

Rune/addy items (when slaying on lunars)?

    Starting with a full inventory?

Banking those without a yak is doing it wrong. Virtually no task requires a full inventoory to complete without banking.

  7. The best combo of crimson charms/effigies is black demons provided you can find a world that is not bot infested. Roughly as many charms as bursting lobs, with range exp from your cannon and an effigy every ~1.5 hours

  8. Hello

OK, dungeon fishing I think is best even after nerfing, never done it myself I hate those dungeon.

Now the question about the next three, Barbarian with urns, Rocktails with Urns and Trout n Salmon with Urns.

Having tried all these three here is how I find them.

Barbarian with urns I do not find the fastest, I did this with an invent full of Decorative Urns except for two empty

spaces, then I did catch two drop two for an hour and managed roughly 44k, and that is with Urns :(

Love to know how people get the 60 to 70k that I read of.

Rocktails with Urns XP is all over the place, anywhere between 44 to 55k plus an hour, no constant rate but the good GP.

Now for Trout n Salmon at Shilo with Decorative Urns, using an Ibis I can get a a constant 48 to over 50k an hour.

They low alch the fish, and use a granite lobster.

  9. FYI - Autohotkey is a botting program. If you use the above suggested method following one input one action some people suggest your account wont get banned for botting. Others believe that just by using the above program you are violating jagex third party software rule.

No it's not, stop spreading misinformation.

    As long as it's 1:1 it's fine.

Hey, let's just make it so I use the scroller on my mouse for each key.. And I limit the inputs to x/second. - Now I have your script with "1:1". Yet all I do is keep scrolling down.

Is this what is considered "runescape"? Playing by simply scrolling the mouse down for X hours to achieve a level?

If this is what you think is a good game I suggest you read a bit about "game design". And understand the difference between "following rules to the letter" and "in the spirit of the rules". Using what you posted is simply not in the spirit of a game: it might be that jagex can't ban you for it, or even it may be correct to the letter of the rules.

But please, please can we as tip.it take the stance away from this - and decide what is considered in the spirit of the game?

Tip.it is a fansite, and hence should hold high standards about what is considered "fair gameplay".

Flawed analogy is flawed. You're using the same input for multiple outputs with your example. One mouse scroll down tick can only be linked to one specific output for it to abide by the rules.

hey then lets put all those outputs on "1234567890" so I only roll my finger over those keys.

Really, the whole idea of those "hotkeys" is against the spirit of the game, and should never be recommended to anyone on tip.it.

Opinion stated as fact does not make it fact

Not to mention coding what you describe into AHK is a waste of time because its so much more complex (using script resets and such) than much simpler alternatives that do not break the rules.

What is AHK? What I described above can simply be written into any language, ranging from C to javascript.

auto hotkey, its a key remapping program that can be used to make many training methods much more relaxed without breaking any rules. Seeing as enjoyment is the spirit of any game and that using AHK is not against the rules i would argue its against the spirit of the game to not use it if it increases how much fun you have.

  10. Ignore powerfrogs comment about the fury, its useful not just because of the str increase over glory, but the defense is helpful (especially in void) and the prayer bonus is non-trivial in most gear outfits that don't include vercas/proselyte.

  12. hit a lucky streak at the duel arena today, now im looking to train to some 99s (i have no 99s currently)

was just wondering which skills can be trained at a bank booth?

currently i have these listed (this could very well be them all, but im just making sure)

    Smithing (superheating)

    Cooking (wines)

    Fletching

    Crafting

    Herblore

    Magic (superheat/alch)

    any help is appreciated

For magic superheating, string jewellery, hunter kit, and plank mage can all be done at a bank.

For firemaking grab a stack of varrock teletabs, 26 logs and a tinderbox. Lighting down the row ends your right outside the west bank.

All other skills besides the ones we've already listed can't be done at a bank. Unless you count the zombie impling method of construction, but even that is just looting the jars at the bank.

  13. There is no "good" afk money maker. All the ones that are afk are going to be less money/hr than killing level three men in edgeville. The best skilling money maker is grenwall hunting at 90+ hunter at 1-1.8 mil/hr if you know how to do it right, but it is in no way afk.
