  1. Hmm I sadly don't really go onto these forums due to the lack of activity. I bet a lot of others are the same.  Myself and others leaving due to inactivity just furthers increases the problem. If Runescape had maybe 100 people on at one time I'd probably quit playing the game from boredom.

Not to mention tip.it is not really advertised out there to attract new players.

  2. I think the flak they are getting for the $450.00 Founders Package, from a Forbes Article is a bit deserved. The author of the article is right, too:

Any company could try and make more money by selling exclusive content and “honors” at absurdly high prices, but most don’t. Video games are unique because superluxury items have little to no physical cost attached to them. The work and materials that go into making a Bugatti Veyron a million dollar car may very well be worth that price tag, but the same can’t be said for a $500 gold plated virtual robot, which requires developers to do little more than changing a six digit color code. At that point, you’re selling air, and your players will resent you for the attempt. This seems to be mostly an MMO issue, and one that only serves to contribute to the decline of the genre.

I understand things like the tiers of annual subscription packages, which we could drop $99.99 for on RuneScape, but I hope we don't see anything like the Cybernite packages elsewhere anytime soon. Because, knowing how much some of my friends and clanmates love this game, they might pay for it. But I don't think most gamers can afford that, and those who can are either rich or not able to sustain that sort of purchase for long. It drains goodwill.

Edit: I just want to add that I'm looking at Transformers Universe for precedents it might set for other games Jagex is working on, mainly RuneScape, really

Well said. If I had the money and how much I enjoy Runescape. I'd probably buy some kinda package like that. I know I shouldn't, but meh.... I really hope Runescape never receives something outside of the gold membersip they have done the past two Decembers.

  3. lover sexio i just want to let you know how much i respect you and i respect the amount of effort you have put into runescape. You are an inspiration and i will hope to be like you some day. It's so inspiring how dedicated you are to runescape. From doing f2p agility to playing sc the legit way which we very very rarely see these days. your capablity of doing 10m agil weeks at barb is just amazing and inspiring. I honestly think if you continued to train skills to 200m you could eventually because rank one in runescape. The amount of hours your able to put into the game is unreal. Your opinions about the games direction are spot on and i agree with everything you say. mod liveinmyshadow, you should be praised by 100% of the runescape players and these tip it players. You are so much better than them and i don't even think they are worthy enough to even speak to you. It's crazy the way they speak to you as if your accomplishments mean nothing. Honestly most of them wouldn't even be capable of getting 50m agility at barb without using ba and even then they still cry about it every second. Look at this quote from obeythecow, "Thank you for having an agility course in f2p. I can train agility as much as i want without having to be a member." That is crazy. how obeythecow herself is so polite towards jagex in this post and has such a passion for this game. Runescape needs more people like obeythecow...... WILLING TO PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT XP. people shouldn't go around abusing methods because they don't enjoy the game. they should quit. People like obey the cow deserve to be rank 1 runescape if you ask me. Another quote from obeythecow "This brought a tear to my eye" In response to a post a player made about how agility is never going to lose its acheviement. I mean look at that. Obeythecow herself shows this much emotion when it comes to runescape. The excitement in her face when she logs on to do agility laps. or be active on the fourms is amazing. I would like to thank obeythecow for your dedication and you are my rank one in runescape, and always will be!!!!

    OBEYTHECOW FTW

Outside of this thread. Most of the tip.it community plays Runescape for the joy and don't grind the game. Tip.it has always been like that. You should have seen the whole efficiency debate that led to mass chaos and a lot of the tip.it community leaving and moving onto other forums about two or so years ago. A lot of Tip.it players aren't maxed and some of them are the most inefficient players you will find. However, don't get me wrong some players here are extremely efficient.

But ye I find it offensive when you're calling fellow Tip.it players out for not enjoying the game and worrying about xp, when you couldn't be more wrong.

  4. I wonder if people gonna still do sc and anyways does this incloode Heist cuz you dont intentinally damage the minigame with the alt like with sc, you just do nothing. Ideas?

Unless people start getting rolledback or banned it's one of the best methods for almost every non-cb skill out there for training. If I wasn't 99 in SC skills already, I'd be all over this seeing as Jagex doesn't seem to mind.

  5.

Ok, Yummy Duckys. Try to convince me & Green098 that was how sc was supposed to be played back when we were 1-iteming mages & pp'ing their runes.

    Oh and...

    Inb4Green098magesInBandos.

Jagex deliberately designed it so that the game would end once one team completely left. It's not a bug, it's the same as using a friend chat to clear the resources to end a game only this is way faster and more intense

Most games usually have a minimum time you have to be in to get reward points. I'm surprised they didn't change SC. I don't think anyone should be banned or rolled back, however I have to agree with 200magil lady that SC isn't meant to be played by having 5 alts log after 3 minutes. I'm more surprised however, this method didn't become mainstream until now. I wonder if any players knew about and used it heavily.

All that being said, I'm all down for one 20 minute game to give the same amount of points/hr as boostable 3 min games.

DragonAFKeance's inability to get any p00tang already seems like a sufficient amount of punishment.

I'd laugh if he still does better then you

As far as rules go. I'd avoid the SC thing if it could be interpreted as a glitch. Jagex is pretty notorious for making example bans on things like that.

    Nah its fine.

Bug Abuse is against the rules, but we have to strike the correct balance between punishing those who deliberately abuse a bug, and those who use it without realising that it is a bug.

If, for example, a player could glitch through a wall and gain some outrageous advantage, that would be Bug Abuse as it is clear that the change was not intentional, nor is it likely that very many players would know about the bug.

On the other hand, with the RuneSpan bug - it was not clear whether the method some players used was intentionally left in the game, or was actually a bug which we hadn't spotted.

Misusing a bug is obviously against the rules, and so we would hope that our players are honest enough not to misuse anything they come across.

I can see players misinterpreting SC as bug abuse or loophole or w/e is the technical term for it. So many players are currently doing it and it has been in the game for awhile. However, wouldn't you say the Runespan point dupe where you bought a starter pack and left runespan for 40k RS points an hour was clearly wrong. There's no gray area for that one. However, Jagex has done nothing and probably will do nothing. Just because it's not "xp or gp", yet it takes longer than almost any skill takes to get 1-99....

I would like to see less drama/complaining/anger for a little bit.  Seems like all the posts are "wow rs2k14" or some jagex hating or player hating.  This is not a welcoming environment or a pleasant thing to read.

if no one complains nothing gets fixed. but nothing will get fixed anyway so it doesn't matter. jagex loves top ranked people and would never ban them or penalize them.

    ban for?

i watched 5 minutes of dragonseance's live stream to see what the glitch was in sc. and he even said it will probably be patched by the next update. i dont think jagex intended to make 580k bxp/h possible and everyone knows that. yet people are still abusing it until the day jagex removes it knowing that jagex is going to nerf it meaning its a bug. and i said penalize like take all the bxp away. banning them would deter other people from abusing glitches rather than thinking people can abuse everything because jagex doesn't care.

I actually agree with this. I don't know how people actually think Jagex intended for stealing creation to be 580k xp/hr and for the "normal" game to last like 3 minutes. Jagex probably will patch it, however I don't think any bans should be used here. This has been around for a long while, just not many abused this method. I kinda see this as the exact same as the Castle wars game boosting in the first few months of trim.

  8. The now official Jagex rule on Multilogging

    Rule Update and Clarification

Recently there has been discussion on the RuneScape forums and social networks regarding two rules – Multi-Logging and Account Sharing/Selling. We need to take your feedback on board and be sure that the rules are relevant for RuneScape as it is today. We've reviewed your comments, and in collaboration with the Customer Support and Community teams, have updated the rules in these areas.

In short, we're OK with multi-logging as long as it doesn't involve rule breaking or gameplay exploitation (read the full rule here); and on Account Sharing/Selling the message is simple – don’t share, don’t sell and don’t buy accounts (read the full rule here).

From a player perspective, if you think that you might be breaking a rule, or what you are doing is not in the spirit of fair play, then you are best off avoiding it as this could result in action being taken against your account.

Ultimately, we don’t want to stifle genuine game play, and we hope you’ll agree that this approach is best for all.

    Rules of RuneScape

    Updated Rules:

    Multiple logging-in
You are free to create as many accounts as you like and you are welcome to trade between your accounts just as you would with any other legitimate player.

However, if any of your accounts obtained wealth by rule breaking activity for example macro use (botting) or real world trading (buying gold or items from 3rd parties) then all your accounts will be banned.

Similarly, multi-logged accounts must not interact with each other to exploit gameplay mechanics, such as attempting to rig the result of a minigame.

Trading wealth or items between your own accounts is done entirely at your own risk. Unconventional trade methods like drop-, death- or trust-trades are particularly risky and we strongly advise against them.

You may log into multiple accounts across all versions of RuneScape at the same time, however any account you are using must not be involved in any rule breaking or exploitative activity. Any penalties or sanction for such behaviour will be applied to all of your accounts.

Why do we have this rule?
We have this rule as part of our procedures to monitor and deal with people who choose to real world trade, gold farm and use macros. People who move wealth between accounts they own and have gained that wealth unfairly or by breaking other game rules can expect to be banned.

Buying, selling or sharing an account
Each account should only be used by one person. Never share your account with anyone else, doing so will likely get the account banned. Players may not sell, share, transfer or lend their account to anyone else. Players should not accept an account that anybody else offers, as they may be stolen, and this could lead to your own account being disabled!

Why do we have this rule?
We have this rule for a number of reasons:
    - We have this rule as part of our procedures to preserve the integrity of the game and player’s hard earned achievements. The hiscores are there to measure the achievement of an individual, not a group of players or 3rd party. Also, if disputes occur or friendships breakdown, it can lead to at least one of the parties permanently losing access to the account or having it stripped of wealth and items.
    - Additionally, many of the accounts on sale are stolen, and people who share accounts run the risk that the person using the account won't give it back, or that the person will break a game rule causing the account to be banned or muted for which the account creator will be accountable.

I can see that this has attracted a lot of attention, so to clarify:

The rule has not changed, and as MMGs comments suggest, these days we apply the rule with a common sense approach (as we do all rules). If anyone is multi-logging and transferring wealth, this will attract our suspicion, and the accounts involved will be investigated. If there is nothing untoward in how that wealth was generated, then we will take no action – if, however, any of the wealth was generated through any rule breaking activity (e.g. gold farming, botting, RWT), then we will take action against all accounts involved.

From the player perspective, the same common sense rule applies - if you think that you might be breaking a rule, or what you are doing is not in the spirit of fair play, then you are best off avoiding it as this could result in action being taken against your account.

We don’t want to stifle genuine game play, and we hope you’ll agree that this approach is best for all.

Sorry, but how does someone transferring millions to their new account promote genuine game play?

If anything it does the complete opposite.

If a player has earned the wealth legitimately, and is trading the wealth legitimately, it's up to them what they do with it. People did it before I made the post, people will do it after - it's part of the modern game.

I'm not going to be drawn into answering every individual question because it'll take far too long.

The answer to pretty much everything, though, is that you can log into more than one account at a time. Provided you do not break any rules whilst doing so, then we will not penalise players. With that said, we hope that everyone plays within the spirit of the game.

All of what you said was bull shit.

    thx4bump

you were being tracked on other forums, how is that bullshit?

Just because you weren't on those forums checking out what was going on, doesn't mean it was bullshit, it means you were stupid enough to not check.

+ having your name posted on the hlf was a nice addition

I can't exactly recall what you were doing, but it seemed like it was RC, Livid Farm, and/or Slayer.

Was rank 11 hunt difficult to get?

Bwizzel you got your stats halfed lol.

  10. Skill capes was one of the few updates that truly changed the way runescapers played.

There is no question that after skill capes more people went for 99s in things they wouldn't have otherwise gotten.

Who can remember all the old, "Whats the rarest, hardest cape? (Because I need to achieve something to show off)" threads.

Personally, after seeing the agility cape emote, I knew I had to have it.

Being number #115 there made it all the more special.

However, I look at these new capes and don't feel much.

Do they have particle effects like the dungeoneering one?

I think if they made them have new emotes, then I might feel motivated, but I'm not sure.

9 years of this game will turn you into a casual gamer that can't be assed to grind much.

Also, since there are max capes. I feel the general RS population would rather strive for a max cape than a 120 cape (besides dg). So until the majority of players are max, I feel that 120s will be off putting to most. I bet there are more people with 120 skill+ max, than 120 skill + not max. Maybe even if you include dg into that.

  11. Apparently if you're doing Agility, boot activation only happens during a minute of running or when completing the course. Someone posted some math stuff and it was like 90k xp/hr more to wait 10 seconds between each gnome lap. Found that a bit odd.

If you continuously do Agility you'll get one charge every 70-80 seconds, (besides the overall one minute of running charge which kicks in every 5 minutes or so).

If you wait so you can get the charge every 45 seconds it ends up being quite a bit faster.

This I can confirm for Gnome. I haven't tried any other courses.
