  1. I'm pretty sure the value of statues matches how much they are worth. c maul is 130k, so for example if you looted a 200k statue, the 200k statue would protect over your maul.

    That's so lame <_<

Lame you say? This is lame:

Cbow only protects over like 2 statues

  2. Despite Jagex saying this game is intended for mature players, most people who complain are teens/still in middle school. They have yet to learn how to think cognitively or rationally. They act on impulses and work towards satisfying their emotions. If they can't have it now, they complain. Thus, they want things made simpler for them for as you say "instant gratification".

What basis do you have for this statement, personal experience, what? I know of adults who complain, (mainly college students) and teens who couldn't care less.

Well I guess it's personal experience. It seems like (to me) younger players are the ones to talk more in this game, so I hear them complaining more. Young adults and teens seem less likely to talk to randoms (as seen from you guys and setting your public chat to friends only :-P)

  4. I find I get 2-5 hides, no matter what tier trap I use. Also, you don't have to be near a dino for the trap to work. I've set up traps then tele'd somewhere else or gone to different rooms and the trap still caught the dino. It's actually better not to be near the dino because just like outside of dung, you should be a certain distance from your traps to maximize effectiveness.

I've never seen a dino get caught in one of my traps unless i was nearby, I can set down a trap, come back 15 minutes later, and the dino and trap are still laying around.

Well, I don't know what to say. When I dung I always carry a knife, 2 logs, needle and thread, and when I see a dino I want I set down traps and keep going along with my team to like the next room or two. I get the message on my screen saying I caught a dino in my trap even when I'm not in the same room as the dino.

  5. I've started making leather armor in dungeons for my hex hunter.

What I've discovered is that you can catch any dino with any tier box!

the only difference is that if you try to catch a tier 10 dino with a tier 1 box, you'll get 2-4 hides per dino instead of 3-5 and you have a greater chance of losing your trap.

But whoopdeedoo lol, that actually doesn't make a difference.

Traps only cost 225 gp from smuggler, and drop in the dozens from monsters.

As for hides, most other players don't resort to this so you won't have a shortage of dinos.

to make the deal even sweeter, you can fletch traps in combat without slowing your combat down if you have appropriate reflexes.

and of course you can set traps without interrupting combat/running either.

as for logs, 225 gp per tier 1 log at start of map from smuggler.

Carrying needle + thread means making armor on the field.

and monsters have chances of dropping logs.

Very worth it for hex hunters, since it increases your damage rate.

you can literally get full leather armor by the boss while doing GDs at the same time.

one problems is that dinos won't go into traps unless you're nearby.

So it might not be worth it unless you set down the trap at the beginning of a GD/puzzle room that happens to have a dino in it.

  6. I don't care if it crashes, this was an item I wanted to use, not profit. I was just confused on why I actually got it when I was almost an hour late in placing my order. Other people are still trying to buy them based on the forums so I was positive there are still snipers attempting to pick the bow up.

What would you possibly use it for?

EEE + soul split, even while ranging, is more than enough healing?

    Check my stats bro

  7. On that subject of sniping in the GE I'd like to show something that happened to me:

    101107131556.png

    101107125143.png

So after several failed attempts at sniping the bow, one day I logged in to see the GE updated a while ago and I thought "what the hell, I'll still put an offer in". Well on the very last day before the sara bow updated again, I managed to snipe one. The previous times I attempted to snipe my offers were in 1-11 seconds after the update and I never sniped one. So how was I able to get a bow so late after the GE updated, and also many days later?

Other notes: the street price of the bow is catching up to the GE price, with the street price being 25-35m

  8. For the first question, since I already had sc tools (and the penance horn), I was planning on using them. I just wanted to know if I'll get the same exp out of the brawlers w/o the hammers.

But how come everyone always says to use f bones with brawling gloves? Does it save time and money over d bones?

[hide=my input]According to this thread, 17-18-628-61335678, the TVC of f bones over d bones is somewhere over 3.2m/hr. Since I cannot make that much in an hour, I plan on training prayer with d bones.

I finally found the xp on wiki, and d bones are 13.5 gp/xp on altar w/ brawlers, 20.2 gp/xp on altar w/o brawlers

    F bones are 17.6 gp/xp brawlers, 26.3 gp/xp w/o brawlers

So if I used d bones instead of f bones on the altar w/ brawlers, it should be better because I save money and I don't make over 3.2m/hr, right?

    [/hide]

  9. Smith: If I use sc hammers with these, do I lose potential xp from the brawlers? Is it advisable to use sc hammers here because I save money?

    Pray:

    1) How much xp per bone do I get if I use d bones on:

    gilded altar

    etcofuntus

    2) How much xp per bone do I get if I use f bones on:

    gilded altar

    etcofuntus

  10.

Am I jumping the gun a bit too much when I say I hope this mean you may actually stop ranting at every single update Jagex does?

The knowledge base said up to those percentages. The shields still have a regular defensive value which is very high, which doesn't make them useless. The ability is a bonus, not the main selling point.

On the KB, yes it often has an error or an explanation that is worded badly, but do you have any idea on the amount of work it takes to write the KB? We often have mistakes here on Tip.it, and we have a very large team working on everything to a very high standard. They don't have a large amount of mistakes on the KB, they are just picked up very quickly by players and highlighted. As has been posted by a Jmod, the change to the shields was a last minute design change which means the person writing the KB had the wrong information. It isn't because they don't play the game, it isn't because they are stupid, it is a small human error.

The difference between you and Jagex is that when a mistake is brought to your attention, you attempt to fix the problem as soon as possible. When Jagex learns of a mistake...they either:

    A) Ignore it

    B) Fix it 8 months later

    C) Fix it 6 months later and don't tell anybody

    D) Fix it and make it worst

    E) Say "nah, we'll fix it at next week's update"....and never do

  11. Sorry for the double post, but I totally gotta post this [cabbage].

I knew my account was nice, but I didn't know it was hacker worthy :ohnoes:

And no, I didn't do what he told me to do

    inb4iragequitcuzigothackedsomehow

Did you go to the site he said?

Nah, like I said, "I didn't do what he told me to do". I knew it was a suspicious link and he totally wasn't a mod.

    picture5346.png

    Lol hi Gremmy/Oropher.

    We alched it lol

Am I the only one that noticed that both of his accounts were in the same floor? :shame:

  12.

3 is probably the best, though if I ever see a celestial cat staff I'm might bind it.... although a melee weapon is probably more useful. Lol, wonder if it'd be worth getting 80rc for easy making of empowered fire staffs...

Get empowered fire staffs from c1s.

  13. NPC contact, you can contact the mage in the abyss and ask him from there. Much faster, and you are on lunars anyway, for ourania teleport, right?

Oh sick, I never knew you could do that. Thanks, and I am on lunars, so that should be super helpful. Thanks a lot

  14. So I'm rcing at the ZMI altar on w70 and I'm using my pouches. When it degrades I head over to the abyss to fix it. I seem to be the only one bothering to repair my pouch because I'm always the only person there with a skull over my head. So...am I rcing wrong, or is everyone doing something else that I'm not doing?

  15. My advice is don't worry about camping for hoods. I got my hood from a large dung and the rest of my teammates had a hood, so naturally they gave the hood to me :-)

Just try and get lucky with your team and be the only one w/o a hood, and surely if you guys manage to find one they'll give the hood to you. Yesterday I had a team where one of our guys didn't have a hood, and we got one and gave it to him.
