  1. Well on the hiscores the lvl 34 accounts we can safely assume are trialies run out at around about 780k, so it is safe to say they are in the ball park 780k accounts with membership with a margin of maybe 5k or so for recent unsubscribers yet to be removed.

And yes given the size of the runescape member base 150k is a small minority, a large minority would be a minority only marginally smaller than the majority, which given Jagex's statistics of 1.8m active accounts 150k is nowhere near.

Your saying the same shit you said before. It's been proven wrong. IF you need more evidence go to Runescape.com forums and search the hundreds of threads who pointed this out point blankly.

Now prove to me there are 750k members.

It baffles me how many 180's you've done in this thread. In the beginning of the voting process you 'proved' we will hit 750k in 2 weeks . Then a little while later you 'proved' how there is only 400k members. You have proved so many points in this thread that it is astonishing.

Why are we arguing if we are talking about a small minority or a big minority anyhow? The fact remains that it is indeed a minoritt who have voted, furthermore, it is even less when you consider that most of them will not want to pay 15$/month. So In any case, as it stands now, 2007Scape will be a more expensive game to play.

SO the more important question is that Jagex probably figured this will happen. So why did they make such a big fuss about it. The more I consider it, I would say they need more members to play EOC, so when they could just lure back some people to play 2007scape, some of them will come over to EOC after they realise 2007scape is dead.

The reason I think this is the case, is because that's what happened with me and a lot of my PKing buddies after RS2 came out. After about a year we realised that RSC is indeed thoroughly dead, we transfered to RS2. We adapted and changed, and isntead of Jagex losing us all, they did manage to keep us paying by keeping the dead game up and running.

  2. They'll probably do something like 3 tiers of comp cape or sth comp, comp(t) and comp (t^2). So the 5k people can't whine that their accomplishment has been taken from them - cause we all know how we RS players lover our whining.

Ofcourse they might go full retard and do something drastically different, no idea what that would be though.

    That wouldn't solve anything lol

^^Imo that's exactly Jagex's style though, which is why i posted that idea :)

  3. http://www.wolframal...,e^(7109/1909))

current trend line and estimate (140,133 votes) R-value of 0.945.

obviously the graph should be asymptotic rather then crossing the axis and it doesn't account for changes due to human behavior (weekend, etc) but seeing as how we haven't seen any significant changes due to time zones etc. yet shouldn't be to big of a deal and I didn't really feel like messing with it.

edit: fixed because I don't remember what timezone I live in....

I just LOVE the fact that you are the first person to project an actual math based prediction of votes (not 5 votes/second or other laughable middle school arithmitic comparison) and all the fanboys just gazed over it like it was nothing. Only person who noticed it besides me was druv, who obviously has an decent understanding of mathematics as well.

Thank you for making that post.

According to that predicition we can safely assume the end result will be way below 200k - numbers don't lie, people do.

  4. It's crazy all the negative I see in this post, and it drives me insane.

The game back then, was the most fun for ME and MANY other players who are old-school RS players.

MYSELF and many of these players WILL come back if there will be updates and a team working on the game...it will be just like everybody starting all over again, a new race in an old game.

I think it sounds amazing, and people who don't...you don't have to play on it. It won't effect your servers, quit being so selfish!

Lol, "oldschool", since when did RS2 start to be oldschool. I was here when the community went through the same thing in rsc to rs2. Regardless of the voting outcome, the 2007 servers will crash and brun. Ultimately it will effect everyone also, what jagex needs to do is hammer out some problems in EOC not gater to the needs of vocal minorities.

The votes won't go past 300k, that's for sure.

  6. [if I hadn't done all my previous Agility, yes. But I have only about a year of further RuneScape training planned and since I can't get it within that timeframe, my answer would be no. Going for having the most Agility Xp in all 3 games is definitely a possibility though. Got 2 done atm.

You sir are crazy. I once trained 60k by doing laps with pendants. I hated it, never going back to run another lap, if this is the only thing that keeps me from maxxing so be it. My hat is off to you.

ofc I will assume that you botted, cause that's just how i roll

  7. I like the idea of a fresh economy. Indeed I like it a lot.

If they were to do it from current game status then I would be very much intrigued. But as I like my bosshunting a lot I could not stand a RS without even something as basic as GWD.

And all in all I think this project is going to crash and burn in the long run. If not then more power to Jagex and the player base and I might even consider playing 2 acc's simultaneously one on EOC and one in 2007 just because I remember the beginning of RSC p2p where 150k for a p-hat was a lot and rune 2h wasn't even in game yet because noone could make it.

But I will not vote for it, mainly because as someone already stated, I am sure Jagex has already made their mind up about reopening or not opening the servers, and I am not that thrilled about 2007 rs anyhow.

  8. I will not vote. I can't understand the pining for this "long lost awesomeness of runescape." And I would loathe to see my p2p money and the resources it can buy to go towards such a frivolous side game.

You guys have all but forgot all the problems the game had at that point in time. Ofcourse the game will have some players, but within 3 months it will be all but empty and within 1 year the 2007 rs servers will be much like rsc servers atm + the bots.

Stop pining for the past, it wasn't that great, embrace the change, live the change.

  9. Just take a page from my book and get away from the game. I have been playing since early beginning of rsc. and i have gone through similar ups and downs numerous times. If you don't feel like playing, don't. I have always come back in 6-18 months and found I enjoy the game a whole lot yet again.

So don't worry about not enjoying the game like you used to, like many things in life it will probably pass. If not then ohwell, you probably don't have to play RS for your whole life anyway. That's what makes this game great, you can come back in a year and see that the game that you once loved is still there - evn if it is somewhat changed.

  10. C2 fishing is boring and annoying, and i'm playing other games while fishing at barb :)

Jake, y u xpwaste!! My trust in high xp players has been destroyed. I will curl up in a ball in a remote corner of my house and cry until i fall to oblivion.

  11. @Balth, Bar/Workshop upgrades, or save it for when totems are useful?

Tested out superior tetsu gear at various places, and it degrades at the same rate (1 minute of degradation for 1 minute in combat stance) regardless of single/multicombat. It's really a 12 hour degrade - it's just that all the other so-called 10/15 hour degrade armours and gear just have much longer lifespans because they run on combat ticks and not combat stance. The most ridiculous was Zaryte bow pre-EoC, which lasted 60,000 attacks (or 50 hours) because of the way it was coded.

I think the disappointment is largely because the 12 hours is on a different (but more acccurate!) degrade scale from everything else, and thus it merely pales in comparison :P

First post here where someone who has actually tested it gives their results. That is great, thanks for the info. So all that talk about 1hour degration and 3 hour degration at GWD is utter BS, that is good to know.

If they fix it so that you can repair it whenever not just at 0% and add some kind of bonus (either more time or a dmg boost) then I will be happy, because I still consider POP a fun, rewarding and low input D&D.

  12. What'd you expect. It's Jagex. :D I don't understand how people get so worked about them not coming through with their promises. Especially since you are supposedly a veteran in RS.

I have been playing this game since 2001. There is nothing Jagex can do - short of restetting all my skills to 0 and clearing my bank just for lols - that would get me so worked up. (and even if they did that I would be like "Damn, I should've seen it coming" :D

  13. I KNEW IT!! SUOMI WAS LOAFING CW!!

    You noob, l2playthegame. :D

Suomi quit playing like 4 months ago.

Reported to Jagex for account sharing obviously. And yet again I would like to state, that damn you for making us wait such an extensive amount of time until you hit the 5B mark.

I am relatively certain that if you really tried, you could get more than 1xp per week! If needed, I can give you some tips, I am quite the Runescape connoisseur.

  14. I actually like the trend of higher tier armours being only good in certain situations. This is where RS has been heading for ages now, EOC just brought a new era of it. Someone made the point of missing the time where highest tier armour was best everywhere.... That was true in RSC where you could mage/range and melee in rune armour. Since RS2 rolled around this has changed and it should continue you change and I think if you want to keep playing you have to embrace that change.

Yeah sure, POP will degrade like crazy in combat - so what. I get gear that I can hunt nex in without any money invested. That pretty much makes up for all that. And time spent in POP - give me a break. After you reach bowl the maximum time you spend in POP is 3x a day, at a maximum of 30min altogether. If this is a significant time investment for you then RS is not your game indeed.

Also, after you reach pincers trade goods will start rolling in. To whoever said POP is pretty much dead now with the degration times being as it is. Way to go into hyperspace mode, armours is a small piece of POP that I like, scrimshaws are a much more interesting piece of content which I can see myself using continuously.

tl:dr - POP armour degration is not that big of a deal since you will get a metric f*ckton of trade resources in pincers.

  15. I agree with the above - by the time you get a set under your belt and you are in pincers, you should be getting more than enough trade goods to repair your armour if you only use the armour for high level PVM.

If you intend to use it for slayer, then you might have a problem. But if you got all 3 sets, then I don't think it will be that big of an issue. I am pissed because we are not getting the dmg boost, the armour degrading doesn't really bother me.
