i use paint.net not photoshop so theres no save for net option.
and i didnt use that technique.
i can get you a psd if you want to have a look, see where i went wrong =)

the contrast and sat up are fairly obvious. i didnt blur it one in the image you see, i did sharpen, probably too much i admit, used glow effect / 'adictive' layer type, sepia blended around the edges, scan lines on 10/255 transparency, very little difference without tbh, i didnt lighten atall however i did darcen a few times.
also when i shrunk it i lost some quality.
i agree the result isnt that great, but it was mainly trying new ideas.

photo was taken on my phone a while back, maniped using paint.net.
intended for use here, but it can only be used with 69% quality jpeg >_< also tried gif and other formats but cant get it to 30kb, thats the png there.

oh just letting everyone know a bit more about this (info from her dev site)
basicly the guy is a werewolf, but he doesnt like it, its something he cant control. i asume the girl is his girlfriend or similar. basicly the idea is that he is protecting her from himself.
or atleast i think thats it. correct me if im wrong :wink:

very very nice once again =)
but i do have some crits
ok, they mainly center around the main guys head, for a start its too far left, it doesnt look connected to the head that much, also it doesnt look as pissed off as i would imagin it should, a bigger mouth for example would look better imo. his eyes are looking in different directions, lazy eye? the hair is clearly 2 parts and they dont look connected. maybe another layer in there with some inbetween hairs. on that subject the front hairs sea to come from behind a mask hes wearing, his face in reality, but yeah, they should blend more into the skin. his ear doesnt look that connected, needs to be lowered and more to the right imo. his hands also are weird, or more the fingers anyway, the index and middle are quite far araprt on both hands while the midle ring and pinky are all very close and that looks weird.
havnt too many crits about the wolf, but im sure the more i look at it the more i will find... lol. its left thumb claw looks very flat. again the same probl;em with wide index/middle spacing. some of the brushing could do with more blending.
the girl doesnt look to bad, and i cba to find any crits :XD:

i make all mine using paint.net and ive got some pretty good comments about the outcome (posted on rsc and rsm, none here)
but then again my style is different, thats where sokme bad comments come from.
but quality wise its as good at photoshop or any similar prgram and its free, you'll find a link in my sig area =)

i love this i think it looks great, the water looks great for the idea (rough with small waves i belive) nice texture in the mountains, however they could be more clear (sharpen maybe?)
imo the spacescene goes too high and i feel there could be better blending between the clouds/smoke?
the text looks good, however i dont like the otherlap of the M and the title.
looks great none the less, is this on deviantart? i wanna +fav

add highlights along the cventral ridges and the two 'bobles' to each side. also add shading on the other side.

whats that in his right hand? looks like linework to me! argh! sort it out =)
chain looks better now, infact more like real chainmail yet strangly combined with under carpet. but it looks fine i dont see any reason to change it =)
the movment in the cape doesnt flow correctly, too many lines going in different directions, it cant flow two ways at the same time! also the linework behind his left is rather messed up (the cape that is) dont like the crinkled effect, keep it straight like the other side.
the guy doesnt seam to have much of a nose, define it more, that may help sort out the face, also try defining his chin more.
ugh, just realised most of what ive said you have already said, i read the whole post, but it was at the begining and goldfish can beat me in a memory test >_<
oh a quick comment on the linework of that vampire thing, his right hand looks broken, i know what you intended but that can eb hard to show well, what i suggest is either move the wrist lower or have the bend at the elbow.
also a crit on the wing, as i said before i belive, they ar at the wrong angles, or atleast the one neareast (its left) is sticking out too much, and remember you dont want wings to spread out.
also his head needs to be longer, and the teath look weird, too perfect, i suggest adding 1px between the right fang and the top lipto make it more triangulkar, oh and toy with the idea of removing 1px of the other fang.
then top that all off with a sprinkle of fixing the left arm where it meets the torso, posably because it goes too far in, but im not sure on that.

i admit milkshape isnt amazing, and i would like something better (C4D ftw :
) but yeah i cant afford how many hundrud quid it is >_<
and milkshape isnt free its either 30 dollars 30 euros or about 15-20 pounds.
you may be thinking why didnt you just use a freeware program? why quite simply because i didnt like them and what they could do, eg in milkshape you can plot all the vetrexex while in other programs its a case of manipulating pre made shapes.
as for the whole polygon thing, i tried to use more, but then i guess i took quite a few close up shots and that would make it blockier, meh.
cad where does the handle look sharper than the blade? alo whats this about thicher metal or something o0 im confused =(
