  1. This may be a long shot, but does anyone remember the stand alone little wiki/guide app that was made by a Polish person, from 2004-2005? It had quest guides, the game map, skill guides, calculators, all bundled together in its own program.

I did send emails to what addresses I could find, but they all seem to be abandoned. Not surprised, it is over 20 years old

Anyone have a copy of this? Curious...

  2. Still, that is data that could end up being used to recover accounts. I see where you are coming from, but sharing how people's accounts are could leave them open to being hijacked.

Individually, if you want to share your account age, great. But if someone out there (be it Jagex or someone else) starts sharing your personal account info without your knowledge, that wouldn't be peachy.

  3. I doubt Jagex would acknowledge anyone's account age in the public. Otherwise, that would open your account to vectors where it can be hijacked.

Knowing you played before what, 2008? Means you log in with a username. I guarantee you that your RS username has been leaked somewhere before - everyone's has. You shared a screenshot that included your name? Any of your friends shared a screenshot that included your name? Leaked!

Also just got Herbert, the Herblore pet (I'm already 200m herb xp and was making some ovl's for necro training so this was lucky, wouldn't have chased the pet otherwise as I was already 200m herb).

Nice. That one, as well as the fletching pet, were the only two that I genuinely wanted.. never got them when I was going for them, ended up getting the construction pet on a whim using 50 some mahogany logs. Don't think I'll ever end up getting them anymore.

  5. Congrats. I think I got to 25 or something from my semi-weekly-daily spins.. honestly, seeing the new combat update is great because it makes it easier for everyone to understand accuracy. But I still have no interest to play. I don't recognize most of the stuff in my bank anymore

If it takes hours I wouldn't. I want to play a variety of the game, not one place or mode.

I feel you. The sunken cost fallacy is one of the reasons why I have never played another MMO other than runescape. Though I did break my own rules by jumping ship from RS3 to oldschool.

Though I really believe that you might like ironman. If not on RS3, on oldschool. It's a similar game, but different in a lot of ways.

@Wkw I meant i wanted to put the goals/achievements I copied up here in the openingpost, I edited the openingpost years ago to '.' because I stopped using this topic, but I want to put it there again. But now I can't edit my own post(s)?

Not sure, that is strange.. I would still RTM and see what they have to say. The staff are still active here, because I frequently report the bots, and the tip.it staff have a better track record of dealing with bots than Jagex. I think that could get someone to help you out and take a look.

Congrats on necro. I did a few spins when I did my oyster, and I'm level 4 🙂

  8. I'm not sure if there is anything in place to prevent editing posts.. perhaps RTM and see what a mod has to say about that?

It's great that you keep a track of your milestones. I sort of gave up when runetracker went down. For the longest time, the most XP I gained in one day was only 3.4m in herb, during the first bonus xp week.

Now, what, in RS3, multiple-mils XP per hour is the norm... Even if you don't spin!

  9. I stopped playing around 2011. The last 'new' content I remember coming out was jadinkos and the first new thing I really remember was the first world event. So like, two years? Amazingly I didn't even know that EOC was coming until long after it was added and the kalphite king was a conquered boss. Ironically I came back when I heard of 2006scape, then oldschool. Then I completed my goals on oldschool by completing Regicide and I eventually found my way back to RS3.

Then I quit RS3 again right after fossil island came out there, and the amount of daily login incentives and FOMO things just broke me... so I maxed on oldschool 🙂

    Hello 'Scapers,

When RuneScape first launched, it was clear that our players would need a separate location to discuss and socialise outside of the game. At the time, it was much more common practice for online communities to gather in forums – and so the official RuneScape Forums were born!

Since then, however, usage has declined to the point where most players now prefer to use external platforms like Discord, Reddit and Twitter (‘X’) to connect with us and their fellow players. With that in mind, we've decided to refocus towards being actively present where our players prefer to be, and allocating more of our resources accordingly.

Consequently, we will be taking our forums offline - initially transitioning them to be read-only from January 25th, and then removing them entirely on March 28th.

Why the decision to retire the Forums?

Right now our forums represent a very small fraction of the discussions happening in the RuneScape community. While we acknowledge their historical significance, their current functionality falls short compared to what external platforms can provide.

It's evident that vital conversations and community voices often get lost, whereas external platforms offer enhanced functionality, including livestreaming 'Stages,' voice chat channels, and more convenient shortcuts to the topics that are most relevant to you.

Given the strong preference for other platforms among our players, we've therefore decided to channel more of our staff time and resources into those platforms for improved engagement.

Naturally, we're eager to help communities find new homes for Clan Recruitment and similar ways to connect – we've already helped our respective Discord servers prepare so that Clans can continue to enjoy the same functionality as before, but with a more direct and timely method of connecting with our JMods and other players.

Where can the community expect to interact with J-Mods?

We've been using Discord for some time now, which has proved very effective in all sorts of ways, for example giveaways and supporting Clans with new features. With the official forums retiring, we will be fully embracing Discord and utilising its capabilities even more, incorporating further changes to offer even greater functionality.

Clans will continue to enjoy the same features but with a more direct and timely means of connecting with our JMods and other players via Discord. The team will also maintain high levels of activity on Twitter ('X') and our subreddit, as we recognise that these are also great places to connect with the community.

    What about saving forum interactions?

We understand that this decision might feel like a chapter of our history has been lost. We want to give everyone ample time to preserve the content that matters to them.

Starting January 25th, players will no longer be able to post, but existing posts will remain visible, so you can view and capture anything worth keeping.

On March 28th, the Forums will be taken offline and will no longer be viewable.

To those of you who have contributed to the forums throughout the years: thank you. Our community is truly one of a kind, and we do not say goodbye to such a rich and important part of our shared history easily.

The time and dedication that our players have given to forum threads has not gone unnoticed - they wouldn't still be here without the sustained effort of an incredible community, as well as the vital contributions from the Forum Moderators and Community Helpers who have supported us!

We're incredibly excited to continue embracing newer platforms such as Discord, and we're looking forward to seeing your personal favourite interactions and moments from the forums in the coming weeks.

Never thought I'd see it, though the RSOF have been horribly abandoned for . . . . . at least more than a decade at this point

  11. True. I know the big ones recently were Barbie and Oppenheimer. I didn't see either of those, though the later I have downloaded to watch. I can't find myself spending over 4 hours at the cinema anymore.

Studios really need to start adding intermissions to their films. The cinemas would make more money off their overpriced food, and the viewers will have a chance to get up and stretch their legs. Sitting for 3.5 hours isn't healthy.
