  1. Well I had a few kisses with my girlfriend tonight ( they were mine and I think her first). I think we did more of a peck then an actual kiss  I need more practice...

From my experience she's probably more worried than you are. Like others said all you need is practice. Keep on "pecking" each other and it will transform by itself. Don't sweat over it though.

I think I actually found a girl that's single and we get along pretty damn well. I'm gonna be pretty honest about one thing though, I have no idea how to ask her out. Some advice wouldn't hurt.

Keep it simple, beforehand look for the signs that she likes you. Try holding hands while walking, if she likes it then you're all set. Go to a park or for a walk somewhere, get somewhat on topic and ask her "do you want to be girlfriend/boyfriend?"

I know it sounds extremely lame and dull, but it worked for me like a charm.

  2. Lol thanks everyone, I didn't expect any replies to be honest, since usually people only reply to girls. And about Mick Jagger thing, I hope my lips don't look THAT big lol :$

Here's one more. Hope it's not too big.

Interesting eyes. How tall are you?

    6'2

  4. Not me. Even in this numbness phase, I hate everyday life. I apparently 'over-analyze' everything. And even right now, it just seems like I can't trust anyone. I don't know if it's because all of my friends are douschebags or what. But I've really been so torn apart in my life. Those losers.

    They aren't your friends then.

On the side note, I hate when people say "oh I have no friends, nobody likes me, etc" but avoid any type of social interaction. There's this dude in one of my classes, and every time I say hi to him, he tries to look as far into the distance as possible, although I KNOW he saw me. He's one of those people who hang out by themselves, and probably writes essays on how he hates life because his 'friends' are douchebags and how nobody wants to talk to him because of x and y.

  5. Why does it bother you?

I guess it's just because people would prefer to see a normal picture of you so they can see what you actually look like.

It is what I actually look like...

    Yeah, okay

Posting a fuzzy black and white picture at weird angles isn't showing anyone what you look like.

Instead of quoting a ton, why not check her previously posted pictures?

Here's the one where you can see her face.

  6. Battery will last a lot longer on the second one, and that is the one I suggest as a university student.

Also, get a tablet if it's possible. I suggest cashing out for IBM x200 series tablet. Having a tablet is a lot better since you can take ALL notes on the computer, as opposed to writing on a piece of paper. It will help a lot in the long run.

  7. Frustratingly, I find there's very little you can do to make your ear/headphones last longer, and I tend to have to replace mine every 8 or so months.. As you said, don't wrap the wire around anything, and make sure you avoid tugging on it sharply. I wish I had some secret way to make headphones last longer..

You are likely buying complete garbage. I've had my K-66 headphones (40$) for around 6 years, they've been launched across the room with a leg by a wire, dropped, stepped on, etc and are still alive, and the sound is great.

On topic: Try not to drop them and do not play loud music through them to prolong the life.

  8. probably got a fairly old form of wireless adapter in it for cheapness; whihc culd be incompatible with windows 7

or if it came with windows 7 I'd take a guess and say older router not comptaible with newer signal types of wirless adapter

If it was incompatible (nonsense) then it wouldn't connect at all.

    depends how incompatible it is.

If its outright then yeah it wont connect, if its jsut buggy incomptaible it will connect but be buggy as he described.

As for the op don;t get snotty at me, you indicated you had a new laptop, but u didnt specify the wifi card it has, so there was no way I could of checked or known its age. Laptops often have ones tht r a good 4 or 5 yrs bkdated in them despite being brand new.

So basically what you are saying is, that a b-g card can connect to N but will be buggy?

  10. Ubuntu works great for advanced users too (I would consider myself as intermediate to advanced) as it gets a lot of unnecessary stuff out of the way and puts a nice GUI on top of a very powerful system.

Lol, there are many people in the world who will rip your head off for saying that.

  11. That's true, using noscript will prevent it from execution, but I have to remind you that not everyone has it. As for java and security permissions, for me and 3 of my virtual machines + other people who test my stuff clicking run is enough to make it work.

Here's a proof of concept video:

W7 downloading calc[Caution: Executable File] from the web, running it and also executing the shutdown command from a java applet. Note that the security warning is from the file itself and can be avoided.

As for rebooting, it doesn't need to be rebooted. It's executed right on the spot.

Which versions of which operating systems were tested?

I can't help but notice two security notices and a warning message, leaving me to assume that you are referring to the following when you say to "note that the security warning is from the file itself and can be avoided."

    45510534.png

If that is so, then let's not skip by the fact that the user is ignoring the following two warnings.

First, before the applet is run:

    [hide]71981080.png[/hide]

And then the UAC warning about "update[Caution: Executable File]" from an "unknown publisher" at "C:\Users\DS\AppData\Roaming\update[Caution: Executable File]".

    [hide]76100781.png[/hide]

For clarification, my question was never about rebooting before execution, but rather about execution after rebooting.

A backdoor which is not run after a system reset is a rather poor backdoor indeed, practically useless on any system which is shut down regularly (assuming that your idea is to maintain access, rather than just execute once). Executing once is fine if you want to do something like have a one-time snapshot of a file, delete whatever you can, or download another executable. I'm assuming that this last point is what you were referring to when you mentioned that

It's really easy to write a java applet (every skid wants a copy btw) that will download and install a backdoor on your PC
Unless I'm mistaken and you meant something else, would you care to expand a bit on just what allows any sort of permanency?

As for not every user having something like NoScript, that was a general suggestion to Tiigon if he's really worried about malicious code running on his computer, rather than a claim that it would prevent this from working on every computer system in existence.

Tested OS: Ubuntu, Fedora, Xp, Vista, 7.

The first image is the logout warning. It appears when you execute the shutdown command (executed using the applet). Second is the applet itself, you can't bypass it, but many people will click on it anyways if it's supposed to be a fake chat, webcam or a game. For UAC, I already said that it can be bypassed. I'm not going into the howto but it can be done. For permanency, if I understood what you meant by that, the applet does NOT use any exploits, thus can't be patched.

  12. Nothing but a false sense of security. It's really easy to write a java applet (every skid wants a copy btw) that will download and install a backdoor on your PC, or simply destroy as much data as it can under default rights. Same goes for Mac and Windows.

    That's a problem... :ohnoes:

Does anyone care to remind me why we are giving random java applets whatever rights the user might have?

I don't know about anyone else, but I had to modify my security settings to allow Runescape's applet to store its cache files.

Even assuming that this does work, where is this supposed backdoor installed to? Who is it run by? What makes it start when the system is rebooted?

Use of things like NoScript allow users to prevent things like javascript, flash, java applets from running automatically when a web page is loaded, allowing the user to determine whether he or she trusts the web site in question.

That's true, using noscript will prevent it from execution, but I have to remind you that not everyone has it. As for java and security permissions, for me and 3 of my virtual machines + other people who test my stuff clicking run is enough to make it work.
