Want want want want want want want want want want want want!
Give it to me!

Wow, the accounts are being created very quickly, almost at 290k now.
1000 new accounts in 20 minutes.
-
Oh, I did not know that. That throws it off quite a bit I guess =/
-
Unless there is a flaw in my calculation, there are currently 289,074 players who have made an account and logged in on the 2007 servers.
That means that there are 111974 votes (as of this post) that are either from Jagex or from people who have no interest in playing it and just voted for the sake of voting.
-
As Jagex would have said if they had a voice on this forum.
"Well this is a great time to try out our new innovation; Runescape 2007!"
-
That's what I always did to get around.
-
Although I have been waiting for this quest the entire month, I guess they have this extra week to take out the eventual bugs the quest might have.
-
Oh that's fun.
Tied to a tier of equipment means you'll have to buy it.
Buying it means you'll have to obtain tokens.
Obtaining tokens means you'll have to try and win.
Having to try and win means you can't afk anymore.

Was about to say dragonfire shields but nope, can pay someone to attach it lol.
Yeah smithing is going to be as useless as ever.
Also, I can't remember, but when did updates like autocasting with a staff, and 10% damage bonuses on staffs happen?
2nd September 2008 according to rs wiki.
-
But what will happen if a vocal minority wants a certain update? Who are we to deny them that?Having 07scape updated would not be the 07scape that everyone wanted, take it as how it is and it shouldn't be updated imo.
Because they wanted rs exactly like it was back in 2007, and that's what they're getting.
If they want another update, keep with the main game that does get updates.
-
Noo! I loved making money by selling low level unids for 1k each and then identifying the good ones like ranarr.
Also I don't remember if the run-backards glitch was around then. I know it was there mid 2008 when I was barraging for charms at Rock Lobsters. It nearly killed me a bunch of times.

200m in 2007scape is going to take a lot longer due to the lack of high level ways of training.
Or that's just my assumption.

Server back so soon.
Feels a bit the same like when we had the bring back wildy poll.
It came back much faster than they estimated and what everyone thought.
They had all of this planned a long time ago.
-
I doubt that we'll suddenly get 500k votes by the looks of this without the whole community realizing that all the polls Jagex makes are fake as hell. Even though it looks a bit suspicious right now.
It's impossible for jagex to suddenly spurt out a massive jolt of votes without having a finger in the game. Unless they give people in main rs benefits like more member or new stuff if they vote.
We'll get past 250k votes though.
-
Because Jagex doesn't want to build around something that looks stale and is seveerly outdated. If they did then they wouldn't have made any updates to begin with.
Can you honestly say that you prefer the sd graphics from 2007 compared to the current ones, or if you prefer the ones we had after the major graphics update that came a bit after Summoning was released?
-
considering the recent developments, i am now fairly sure the final total will read over 250k regardless of how many votes are actually received...
For some reason, I find this very possible.
-
As it is now, the more people who vote to try and get it through the 250k goal the better for everyone, it seems to be fairly accepted on both sides that the 50k option will not be a sustainable business plan. The fact that the CEO actually wrote that it would be a nice thing to do for your friends, even if you don't intend on playing, shows that you wouldn't be screwing them over, and the higher goals it reaches, the more money they get, and the better it is for everyone. Like a point I made earlier, if all of the people who have voted right now (170k), were to just pay an extra $5, as opposed to only 50k paying an extra $15, Jagex will come out on top.
There's both pros and cons in voting without any intent to pay and play.
Say 250k players vote and only 150k are interested in playing. $750k Extra for jagex.
Then there's 150k legit players vote and no fake ones, all paying. Extra $2'250k for jagex.
Now I know that people could only be willing to pay if it reached 250k votes. It's just a scenario, but you can't rule it out.

And that's just lame...
Thats why I don't like to go pvm with people I don't know.

I was mostly indifferent to randoms... it was rare for the lethal ones to pop up when you were at low health.Has anyone mentioned that this 07 version of Runescape is also going to include all the "old" random events? You know, the lethal and really annoying ones that everyone hated with a passion?
*Goes to vote yes just because realizing this* (Not really)
It's going to be so much fun to see the players complain about that. "You wanted 2007 scape, well you got it!"
But god it was so funny when it happened to someone else and everyone jumped on the pile
Oh yeah! Speaking of that, there were no gravestones back then.

Smoking Kills was 2008 though, that's way off the mark.
Really hope they don't re-add rares, I don't see why that should ever have crossed their minds.
Well, they were always an integral part of the game, as they are now, and 2007 is no exception to this. If the point is to recreate 2007, why wouldn't rares be there?
There's no good way to bring them back.
1.Have them randomly drop the first day or so?
People would complain about, oh lets see.
Bad connection/not being able to grab them.
Not everyone might be around, no chance to get them.
2.Give them out to the first players making an account?
Same deal there, connection and availability to server.
There's a lot of flaws in brining it back. People who get them would automatically be the wealthiest players in the game with no effort.
And since everyone starts from scratch, what do you think the prices for them would be? How long would it take to even make the money to trade them around?
-
You need to get your hands on the SoF Katana.
-
All I can say that we're not gonna get close to 750k/500k.
And looking at the graphs, we're not gonna reach 250k.
If we do then it would be with very little margin.
-
I find it really stupid to add discontinued items in the game once again.
2007scape is all about wanting the old gamestyle back, pking, old graphics, (nostalgia?), etc. Not aiming to reclaim discontinued items. We got main Runescape for that.
But that's just my opinion.

Aquire item vulnerable to magic.
Has to walk around and not use magic to get around like Choc Ice.
That'd be fun.
