I see a lot of players wearing the penance horn when they are charging it yet it is not required to charge it. Am I missing something here? This seems like a waste of the shield stot to me.

Using the slayer ring to teleport to the slayer cave puts you within 1 click of a ring.
Hmm good tip. It's not free though, even if it's very cheap.

Hey everyone, I've been away from Runescape for a long time now and I was wondering what was the best way to access the fairy rings network now?
My current method is to use the ectophial and then run to the fairy ring, anyone knows of a better way?

I actually dont play Runescape anymore at the moment.. but I keep in touch with my friends with playing on funorb. :) Lots of great games in there

If the 20+ theme is successful I might leave Runescape for a while.. or even totally. :shock:
About there not being enought adults playing on Runescape and other MMORPGS consider this. MMOs were born very recently just 6-7 years ago (for the first major ones). Those who started playing mmos at that time still do today. The adult playerbase will slowly increase but never go down as more players reach that age.

If RS is intended for early teens, I'm going to guess what Jagex means is that Mechscape is actually intended for those 16 and older. :|
Still better than nothing. If you can play a Jagex mmorpg without 10 years olds asking each other for a gf/bf, begging and whining all day long then I think it's worth trying :).

I just stumbled upon an interview of Jagex's Director of Game Content, Henrique Olifiers, by WarCry Network that they did during the E3. :ohnoes: It's the first time a Jagex official talks of Mechscape, and there's a really juicy information in there :).
He did, however, drop the name MechScape to me as a title that they've been working on for the past two and a half years. MechScape, said Olifiers, will take technology beyond what they've done with RuneScape, and is also aimed at an older, more advanced audience (if the "sweet spot" for RuneScape is early teenagers, MechScape is aimed at people in their 20s)."MechScape is aimed at people in their 20s" :thumbsup:

Most guys in my clan said they wont use the french version of rs. Some words don't suit. Je vais t'attaquer avec mon fouet abyssal. No, just no. I might use it in the first few weeks...
Yeah that's another thing I'm scared of.. English words will lose their "Magic" in the translation XD. For instance Willow is alot prettier then Chêne.

Hmm I can see French indeed become bigger than German since, no offence, most french people don't speak english that well (atleast the ones I know don't have to learn it in school, it's an optional choice).
That depends. In Quebec almost everyone has english as a second language which is why many play Runescape. In france most dont know it.
Is it just me,or is that link still in English? They must still be translating.They probably uploaded that as a test and will update it on the real release. Or it's just a teaser without any spoilers

A French version of Runescape has been rumored for quite some time, based on the job offers on Jagex.com. I've been checking on http://www.runescape.com/lang/fr/ for a while and today instead of a 404 error I reached an alternate version of the Runescape website. The only difference is that there are no news or polls at the moment, maybe it's waiting for news with the french tag?
I think this time (when they do release it) we can expect much more immediate affluence then for the German version of the game. The French version already has many existing players and a very strong community of Internet users and mmo players.
What I'm hoping for is a "neutral" French translation that's not filled in expressions, words and names only used in France. My hope is that they will be smart enough to do an international translation.
If you see some errors would you be so kind to pm them to me?

There are also many logical issues with having a widescale live betatest. One of them is that the free population is bigger than the member one and roams in a smaller area. They would report the same bugs over and over and over again which I guess would not be very helpful to the developers working on Runescape HD.

I hope we get the graphics update itself tomorrow and not just a progress report on them. Though if it was a progress update on something else they are working on for the game that would be nice to see how they are moving along with them.
Jagex is going to show the graphics in E3 later this month, so don't expect it until later this month. Just another fine example of how Jagex backs plans up.
They have no reason to wait for the E3. The sooner it's released the best it will be when they finally start publicizing it.

Could someone tell me ALL the lamps I can use on summoning?
I barely quest, never done achievement diaries so I've got like maybe 20k exp? :D
search for lamp in the knowledge base, should help you.

Maybe bring your penguin suit and pet penguin to the iceberg, ask Larry to put you in the suit and speak to your pet penguin?
Nope tried before, you cannot take any pet to the iceberg. Probably no summons as well

a little off topic, but i can see that remote view ability as very useful, in you're with a team in BH, its just a harder to spot scout.
but the RS newspost about summoning paying for itself was just someone at jagex blowing their own horn.
the only way is if you're constantly killing hard monsters with rare drops like steel dragons, or monsters that commonly drop rune items like nechraels do over hundreds of hours.
it will pay for itself in supplies, eventually, but unlike the content test teams that they based that on, we can't manipulate drop ratios.
its to be expected, the people at jagex HQ have never been good at admitting mistakes. :roll:
anyways, summoning has given me an advantage, i'll be lower level than most other people with my abilities when they release 1V1 BH. :wink:
I'll be the first one to laugh when a Rune Minotaur Bull rushes you :P

Yes they do drop runes but it's not very common and you probably just had badluck. Also the higher their level the better the loot.
im at the 82s currently dropped deaths do u think that because i have a clue scoll in bank they drop junk?
No, if you have a scroll in bank it only means they wont drop scrolls.
From my experience it's a bad idea to expect a drop from a monsters because you will be disapointed very often. I stick to being happy when I do get the drop I wanted :)

Well you could mage moss giants, but in the short term levelling summoning would be very expensive for you. I suggest you get some good melee levels first. Dont see the use in being a "pure" nowadays anyway. And I dont see a pure levelling summoning XD
Do raise your other combat stats it's worth it

Here is the plan I have for you, you can see if you like it.
It will be long. But it's the one way I see so far. I'm writting toughts as soon as I get them.
First you need to be using your summons as your primary way to attack. To have your summon engage an enemy you will be attacking that enemy with the defend style to gain the least xp possible. Would be better if you first gained decent (around 40 for all 3) melee stats then started using only summons. Your summons will fight for you and make monsters drop charms which you can then use to level summoning. If you start with melee stats it will be easier but you will end up with a far bigger level. You WILL need a good defence stat either way as you need to be engaged in a fight most of the time and will need to live trough.

I'm guessing your problem with fire giant is their combat level. Moss giants also have a fairly consistant drop rate of charms from my experience so you might want to try those. If they are too crowded there are many in the new dungeon, and the north-west entrance leads directly to them.

One of the summons of which I forgot the name will convert any egg into a cockatrice egg. So if you give him a regular chicken egg you get a regular spirit cockatrice. If you convert a blue egg you will get a blue cockatrice. I thnk it applies for every sort of "bird" egg obtainable.
edit : Of course cockatrices might also drop them :XD:

No, that means that he does not have enough time and/or resources to manage the whole world. Limiting it to one country means it is much less work and at the same time still interesting. While yes, there are people from many countries in Tip.it, having one topic about one country doesn't mean that he doesn't believe you are any less important to tip.it.
Why don't you try making this topic for the whole entire world and see how easy it is? [/hide]
