  1. 3 champions killed. i honestly havent put the effort in, in the past. recently got a scroll after about 5k killed. working on another and so far it's over 9000 and nothing. makes me want to 1 hit the champion once i get it.

jagex has already commented on the official forums in the recent updates faq and that answers what they think about the rewards. it's too hard for it to be given a good reward basically.

"We really didnt want to make the scrolls easier to get as we feel that there is plenty of room in our game for hard to achieve cosmetic rewards.

The content isnt designed to be something you can buy or earn, its just a random drop chance. Dont forget, the XP rewards are pretty small as its supposed to be a cool looking benefit, not a must have."

i dont kill low level monsters normally and depending on my mood, it's either an interesting challenge or a huge annoyance.

if they give it a good reward, they would nerf the drop rate. if that's what you want? but i doubt they'll do that anytime soon. they actually made the challenge harder by requiring slayer levels with the spectre.

  2. long answer but,

i'll say momentum. people like to stick with a task, even when you're sticking with 1 task you can still be doing it in a way that doesnt ignore other areas of the game. but momentum and determination for why people want to get from 80 to 99. also love of the skill. there's been skills i've enjoyed very much training for the benefits i got from that skill plus i just enjoyed the atmospheres surrounding the training of that skill etc.

for general 99's- i like the challenge involved and the planning and the fact there are so many different ways to train, you can train for speed, for leisure, for money, or for supplies for other skills. but choosing the path you take is something only you can decide and following through with it and achieving a level 99 is a satisfying achievement.

i try to train all my skills to support my overall character and the direction it and the game is going. so, i like the challenge of all the various options being there and all the varying possibilities. i like seeing a plan come to fruition. during the process you do learn things and that give you new insights about the game etc.

i'd be lying if i didnt say i learned from other player's strategies too, but i've created my own as well and for me the type of atmosphere i'm surrounded by in game is the biggest factor for how i train, where i train, and with what i train and what i train.

i think there are some skills that i really enjoyed so much i would settle for nothing less than the max in that skill. so i went for it. i will say there are times when the leveling is easy and times when it was very difficult but the original momentum and plan and drive was strong enough to get through those tougher times and every time i rediscovered my love for the skill; i'm mostly thinking of runecrafting, because that was my most 'epic' 99 as far as i'm concerned.

it's funny becuase when i first started i got to rank 300 in mining and that was mainly to support my smithing. but i did it also because i enjoyed it. mining was a little different in rsc. 30 inventory slots. but i had no idea about the mining rank and i was totally surprised to see it at the time and at that time it was kind of a pride thing where you wanted your smithing level to be around your mining level and of course i wanted to mine runite and i did... and the day rsc turned into rs2 i had been completely obvlious and i didnt even know that was gonna happen. i wasnt aware of it, but it was a pretty cool surprise. :) and i still did what i had planned to do that day and that was mining and superheating. but mining was one of my last 99's it was a first love and a love but not my greatest love.

  3.

Yes, I understand that's the way you want to train and you're free to be able to do so. However, I should also be free to rip myself off and pay ridiculous prices to get 90+ herblore for these awesome potions in a few days, instead waiting 2 years before I get to that point. I worked hard for that money, so I should be free to use it. Trading in a free market with other players is an important aspect of an MMO, it almost sounds like you're suggesting to make RS in a single player game, everyone should do everything for themselves.

I really wonder what your herblore level is and when you think you'll get these new potion by the way.

you dont know how i trained herblore. i trained herblore over the entirety of my membership so whatever. you totally read what you wanted to read into what i said.

my herblore level is 99 and then some. and it's been for like over 2 years. figure out another way to train it if that's the only choice you have. try finding some player suppliers, that's what we did back in the old days before the ge. and i understand you can spend your money but the point is you waited until now and that's your own fault and what do you expect when there's so many people like you that wait until the last minute. it's like trying to find a nice room in a hotel during peak season by just showing up; you'd have to be lucky to get a spot.

but you guys are so quick to demand jagex change this and jagex change that instead of figuring out what you should do besides complain. and i dont suggest rs as a single player it's been multi-player the entire time i've played it and i'm just saying buying your levels from the ge is not the only way to train herblore.

  4. the truth is the value of the xp is worth something in a game like runescape. when there was only 1 or a few rune smiths or high lvl crafters or fishers they can set the price for the demand but when that changes xp becomes the primary motivator for many. so fishers sell away their cook xp and cooks provide an income for fishers etc.

what i did was actually train with the fish i caught and used my potions and trained my character; becoming stronger and having more resources and one thing led to another.

as for the game becoming easier, it's funny because it's the same people, the same generation of people, that kept asking for this and that and easier ways to train etc. and they got what they demanded basically and it still goes on obviously.

but, there are still profitable ways to train skills and it may not be the fastest most efficient but maybe the most enjoyable and profitable. so it's laid out there for you to do as you like. the thing that bothers me though is people just dont get it sometimes, when something is high in demand with little supply; jump on it. etc. it really has less to do with the design of the game it's more about the adaptability or quality of the player. what separates a good player from a not as good player you may ask? the ability to make the most of their gameplay at the same time enjoy themselves and accomplish what they're setting out to accomplish etc. as well as finding and capitalizing on opportunities. etc.

and instead of saying they've just been adding new things to make the game easier, i actually think they've added a lot of content to make the game more interesting, fun, and enjoyable. like a lot/all of the minigames are. as well as the new skills, runecrafting, slayer, hunting, farming, summoning, and construction.

a lot of the minigames are not as 'efficient' for training but they're a lot of fun, that's why i play.

  5. so many whiners i cant believe.

do the quest enlightened journey and take the balloon route to either taverly or entrana OR both. they each stock 1k waterfilled vials and 1k eye of newt.

use a dueling ring to bank at castle wars and repeat it's actually pretty fast. and you wouldnt have this problem if you had been training the skill all along and gathering the resources all along. instead of selling everything on the ge and now trying to buy your level overnight or within a week just like every other person atm.

i really dont have sympathy for people that cant think of a way to train something without buying everything on the g.e. people are just getting lazy. i know someone that everytime they got a slayer task from duradel they stopped and got an inventory of vials, it adds up.

does anyone remember what it was like before unlimited stock? i do. it's just pathetic how much money people now have and how little effort they actually put into the game to either get it or keep it or even spend it. you figure it out, it isnt always jagex's or the game's fault. in the meantime deal with it and keep whining i guess.

and btw herblore isnt necessarily supposed to be an easy skill to level; that's part of the challenge of the game, you know, the point, the thing that makes it interesting etc.

  6. most of my cash was in mtk or in offers for buying stuff for the new potions. i got rid of most of the junk. a lot of what was mentioned already i should get rid of. made about 14m from that. didnt sell anything i actually used or would miss.

most of the drops i pick up from slayer are herb seeds, and random ammo, herbs etc. really. i want to train slayer without having to go to my house to get stuff, or the ge to unbox stuff, or stop after picking up tons of drops and organizing them, i'd rather just organize it all after i'm done training and ready to stop. i have decided to tach alchs with me when training so that minimizes some of it; but most of the headache was being able to have all my equipment available and still be able to bank anything i felt like keeping, like herb seeds, even impling stuff, and other minigame stuff. i could not go 1 slayer task without either having to stop at my house and clean my bank and visit the ge, that is how it was. so now it's not like that. :) so it's looking good now. i may post an update on this thread when i get around to it. just in time for the cold winter season. i want to use the rest of the 2nds i have on pouches, use the mixes i have and probably do a lot of treasure trails. it's still a work in progress.

the main reason i want to free up space is so i can unbox my standard combat equipment and get some of that out of my house also. as well as cannon unboxed all times etc. even mage cape, robin hat, etc. i was able to buy up the rest of the gilded and sara armour for my poh. made a bunch of pouches and got rid of some 2nds that way etc.

i just play the game if i wanted to make tons of money to build a cash pile i could do that... just not what i want to do right now or probably ever. i like having money in items and i've been away but my stats are all good. i just felt like the bank is just too crowded and too full.

it makes me mad they said they were going to add bank space with a key thing, then they decided no on the key thing, but what happened to the idea of adding more space.

no my bank is looking good now and i didnt get rid of anything i use or cant get back so it's all good. i wouldnt sell my ess, i dont need money. i can make tons doing anything i do in the game so money isnt the problem. :) i guess i just wanted some backup on some changes i was planning to make with the cleaning. it's good now. i have about 90 spaces freed up and this is with some sets unboxed. etc.

  7. highlights this bank- the usual + some of the new potions.

you know how when you train slayer your bank fills up every task, it's getting ridiculous. i need to make some space and still keep everything i'm using for slayer and things i want to hold onto. for me, it's like looking at the forest from the trees, i'm too close to really get a good sense of what i should get rid of to free up space. so what should i get rid of or put away or drop temporarily? i'm just tired of dealing with the lack of space.

    [hide=before bank pic]wtfn.png[/hide]

After pic -highlighted items i can now store in my bank or items i can keep unboxed without hassle or items i can alch/sell later or use for training. i can now use the buttons (empty backpack) & (bank worn inventory). it's nice to be able to do that. when i'm tasking. also i have some space for minigame items and enchanted bolts ETC.. basically i'm pretty satisfied with the cleanup, but i would definitely like them to give us more bank space.

    [hide=after bank pic]newwtf.png[/hide]

  8. They're equate to the same thing. The high leveled are (usually) the wealthy. The wealthy train the skills, the wealthy reap the benefits.

Every skill can be 'bought' in some shape or form except for Slayer--which is why the Slayer Cape is still one of the most respected capes out there.

just because they can be bought doesnt always mean that it's the most efficient or fun way to train it or the way they got their capes. multi-tasking and being smart about what you buy, and what you dont sell or buy is part of the skill behind training the skills well. a lot of things have changed in the game and some people never had those"benefits" etc.

how would you buy 99 thieving, 99 mining, 99 agility, 99 fishing, 99 woodcutting, 99 hunting, and saying you can buy 99 runecrafting is a stretch too. so much for those "respected" capes in your view?

also, smart players use their time wisely in the game. to train slayer to 99 can be a great accomplishment but not so much if it's at the expense of your other skills and a more well rounded character, so i'm not really big on saying 1 cape or one style of play is so much better than another.

i do believe though that those that do take the time to train a skill deserve good rewards for their efforts and i also see those rewards as incentives to those with lower levels to achieve.

rich and poor in this game. having skills in this game > any amount of money. because you can make money with skills. though some people cant see past their personal experience and think having money=buying skills. i mean you can spend a portion on skills but multi-tasking like picking up herb seed drops, farming and herblore, fishing and cooking still exist.. and personally i enjoyed the days i mined my own ores and fished as much as i enjoy doing what i do now. and i still mine occasionally and fish etc. all part of the game and what i feel like doing. end rant.

edit: the desert phoenix feather rather than the one you get from killing the phoenix i was mistaken. i dont think that's such a good ingredient i mean all it involves IS COMPLETE WASTED TIME to get those in the desert. anyway...i think it should have been the phoenix feather you get from killing the phoenix in the cave. moving on.

i dont expect you to fully understand all of this because it's a little unclear but i tried to make it understandable.

i obviously put too much work into this but i enjoyed it kind of; it helped me understand where i stand with these new potions. 99 herblore btw.

i'm hoping they create the ability to decant 4 doses to 3 and 1. as well as 2 doses to 1 and 1. i'm hoping the mixes arent a lost cause. they're still good for training but i'd rather have the best. maybe we should be able to make the mixes into these extreme potions as well! once we get the ability to decant 2 dose to 1 and 1. but have the food benefit removed due to the toxicity of the additional ingredient that would make it extreme 'spoils' neutralizes the food affect.

i should say i already placed several purchases for various items at the grand exchange before i did this. i have a good amount of herbs but few seconds and mostly mixes and 4 doses. i'll guess we'll see in the coming days what they do, if they change anything.

and i'm sure you can understand i'm low on bank space. for 2nds, these new potions and 3 doses from now on.

  10. the idea is to go to those cities to get that stuff, so the hide makes it easier to read.

probably a better guide for people's pures or mid lower level players to make decent money.

but if you're high level and you have the bank space or can make the bank space, you would be very fast at completing the clues. what i like about it is, it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get and it's not bad money believe it or not; and it's fun.

  11. believe it or not i like to keep my cash down, because if i need money... like say a new skill came out; it would motivate me to make money... if i need it, i can earn it. it's fast and simple.

like when summoning came out or even construction; and when i do that i usually make like 3x or more what i actually need; so there's a method to the madness. everything i do in rs, is pretty much do it yourself; and whatever i do, i make more money than i can really use or spend.

as you can see, i buy essence from time to time, what that does is it gets that money off my hands and motivates me to do more in the game. i feel this deserves more explanation, i, like many other players was motivated to raise runecraft early on, so i bought enough essence for 99 in that skill.

as it went on, i thought maybe the market would be depleted, though cheaters keep the ess flowing; i never wanted to mine what i consider the amount i needed; so i prevented that by buying it often; probably an irrational fear but it makes me feel better knowing i'll never have to deal with inflated prices should that market ever face depletion.

it's true, i dont sell stuff often... especially stuff i use, i absolutely do not sell or give away stuff i use; unless i have an over-abundance but that's a call i make and i do it very rarely.

[hide=real life stuff]i actually feel out of the loop in rs right now. i've been focusing on other things (nutrition, fitness, mountain bike riding, basketball, weight training, health, etc. and doing well with that!) and it's all good really, but it is fun to log in on occasion, so i doubt i'll ever quit... as long as it's still here.[/hide]

my main motivation for getting/making/keeping a lot of stuff in rs is wherever i go, whatever i'm doing in the game; there is an amount of satisfaction knowing my bank is well-stocked and certain items are there and are not going anywhere. same can be said about the stats i've earned; they are in 'concrete' and not moving.

quick note- i earned the new agility armour and added that to the bank pic. and it's kind of ironic to earn agility armour in rs. since it 'took away' from my real life training. but, i'm glad i got that over with. :)

  12. yeah. i'll probably post a bank pic for my main this next week. just dont feel like doing all the work for that right now. i havent been playing rs much; it's too nice of a summer really; so my main's bank is not that much different from the last picture; but it would be worth making a bank pic for. :)

the varrock armour 3 is my latest accomplishment on this account and i'm thrilled to have it. :)

just a fyi, most of the leveling was done by penguins and helped by stealing creation; also quest rewards, circus and tears of guthix. i dont put a lot of time into this account. just very intense and purpose driven playing when i do play on it.

  13. i'm a long time player too and i've enjoyed runescape over the years. i would like to think the new and continuing player has a lot to do and a lot of entertainment and fun to be had.

saying that, my main beef with runescape is, it seems they listen to feedback too much for my taste; i mean they are the game developers and a lot of updates are made due to whiny feedback. and it's quite annoying, as a long time player and a player in general, that items such as granite and summoning 2nds, can be devalued as a result of lazy player suggestions.

i really wish they'd spend A LOT LESS TIME reading the jagex forum mod's summaries and just get on with creating game content. i dont mind them revisiting things to make them that much better but to take a poll and give everything xp rewards as a result; just grinds my nerves a little. the majority of people in general have their heads up their [wagon] and wouldnt know what they wanted, so dont even ask them; or use the results of polls as a qualification for game content when the best interest of the game is not served. just because some people want something doesnt mean it makes the game better.

if i had to point out a single thing that puts me off runescape atm it's the damn complainers; complaining about anything and everything at every turn, whether there is an update or no update. i'm sick of complaining people. and at this stage i dont think the wheels can be turned; these complainers have been given some legitimacy and believe their impact on the game to be beneficial, but i strongly disagree.

also, to comment on a point another person made on this thread; that if we get less updates that means better quality assurance; that is fallacious reasoning and is not a fact. truthfully the quality assurance has sucked very often of late and many game updates have been more to please not those interested in the game but the people that want a quick way to either get rich or get their stats up. some good in that but imo it hasnt been balanced very well. and magic is completely overlooked and i'm fed up with that. but are they working hard? yes i do beleive they are working very hard and i think we have some good stuff to look forward to. even if some of the stuff has either been dragged on or polluted by a non game centered focus policy for updates; where they look to placate those that dont want a challenge which leads to sacrificing game integrity. and i've had trouble with this post so i'll leave it at that.

adding this; another thing is the simple fact that jagex does set the prices for items more or less if they listen to complaining players and the fact that so many players devalue items by selling at lowest price just adds to the problems. i mean i set my own prices right? nope cant do that when the majority of players lack patience. and when merchants can influence jagex as they do it's really quite sad, given that merchants really have very little value in this game and do not even participate in even a small percentage of the existing game as it is.

a little rambling but it pretty much sums up how i feel right now about the game. but i am optimistic. ::'

  14. an interesting topic and i think i agree with the majority of answers people have written.

yes it's true the top people in any 'field' have an enthusiasm for what they're doing. so that's a good point.

i think for me personally, a lot of the work was done early on, example: like building a house, you need the lot, the deed, the cash etc. know the right people to get the job done etc. then you start building.

i'm sure for most "high level" people they play a lot for periods of time but not like that all the time. i hardly even play anymore but when i do i get a lot done. but yeah they do play a LOT. and that could be a good thing or bad it's really depending on circumstances. better than killing someone and spending 20 years in prison. certain events in their life could trigger a longer playing time than usual. on occasion or even on a more regular basis etc.

i do think they use their time fairly efficiently ingame and that probably plays out in a similar way irl. but i just think the race to 200M thing for several skills is just about competition and i really think barring that factor they'd probably be doing other things?

to me, runescape is like picking up a book and reading it more or less. making several decisions to follow several other decisions and that engages the brain; which can be stimulating. but repetitive stuff like going for 200M cooking or fletching or any skill really or being in the top 21, you must be doing a lot of surfing and i really think they do spend too much time playing a game. i dont think of them as nerds more just competitive people that are driven by that and at the same time probably have issues that are more easily dealt with by being able to 'escape into a less complex' world. :)

an additional note: there was a time when i enjoyed the player interaction of runescape but less so nowadays due to a variety of factors; and in turn i play less. i've always enjoyed helping newer players and that is still true to this day. but, i play less now.

for the top 21 players i would hope they enjoy the player interaction but i tend to believe that isnt much of factor but it would make sense if they did.

  15. the amount of xp gained by the new minigame has already been addressed by a jmod who stated that they had already considered that during its development; meaning they addressed it and it wouldnt make slayer "easier" to train. it would just be another option; not a faster way to train it.

for the lower level or for anyone for that matter; xp doesnt have to be the motivating factor for doing what you find enjoyable in the game. if xp is the motivating factor for you then that's you; doesnt have to be for others.

the developers deal with content and try to balance it the best they can. to make something that much more rewarding or worthwhile or to keep things in line with other content and not make other existing methods obselete. of course there are many factors also and that includes entertainment value and membership value etc.

i'm not going to get involved heavily in this discussion with quoting people and responding to quotes etc. but i do understand where people are coming from on both sides and varying standpoints. i trained combat before whips existed, before slayer existed, etc. :) i understand that people want new items to train with in some cases rather than entirely new ways to train. i look at the fishing trawler and see that as a non-lazy addition by the developers and better than just adding manta ray and turtle to fishing; to me making a minigame to include those items is a better way to introduce that content. but some people may disagree, but that's how people are.

just because i like something doesnt mean you should as well is true too. we have different opinions on the development of the game and what i want added to the game you may totally disagree with; doesnt mean one person is right and the other wrong; it's just different opinions about where the focus should be or what the order of priority should be.

some people want lvl 95 lvl 97 and lvl 99 slayer beasts. do i think that would be good for the game; it could be. do i oppose it? no. am i for it? i could be under the right circumstances. what would i like to see? i'd like to see, rather than just dumping in these higher lvl slayer monsters; a creative approach applied whereby other game content could be tied in and related so that perhaps slayers would be well suited to train other content besides slayer, not saying they dont or havent. i'm just saying a creative approach to new content is better than a lazy "simple" update of just adding it.

anyway, i think all players opinions are valuable and identifying motivations is also valuable; it helps being able to put things in the right context; the player base has differing motivations, likes and dislikes; the fact is the game has to remain competitive and balanced so all those factors are weighed regarding new content and that's a healthy process. :)

  16. faster isnt always better. like others have said, why do we play this game? if we're not playing it to have fun. i dont think everyone's definition of fun is the same but, playing games like gnome cooking is actually fun to me; it doesnt have to be fun to you; but i like it and i'm glad it's in the game. you get cooking xp for making the items; it's not all about xp really; you could buy raw sharks and train your cooking if you wanted a fast way to level but it's not the same obviously.

i read on the forums complaints like "we cant make any money with herblore" then you are a not a very good player, just a fact. if you were a good player you would be able to make use of ingame features that would enable you to profit from herblore but you dont so instead of taking the blame for not doing that you blame the game for your own lack of resourcefullness.

minigames rule. it passes the time much quicker and those old ways of training a skill are still there. train mage in fog or train on spiders which is more fun? the answer may be different to different people but including another option is good for the person that would enjoy training mage in fog. same goes with a lot of the new content they've been releasing. it's another option for training; it doesnt replace or remove the old way it allows for more options. simple.

about the bts i'm mainly thrilled to read that finally they're doing something about the random events and that's great news to me. rest is gravy i guess. remember that just because you dont like something doesnt mean other people should not like something too; some people like different things; and my view of a successful minigame is is it fun? do i enjoy it? if i answer yes to those; that's the main thing everything else on top of it is gravy and bonus. this month looks good for updates and i'm actually excited now about the year of polishing they're doing AND the new game content they are planning to add.

  17. [hide=rant on economy]what a bunch of chicken littles the media and others are. besides, lots of people dont live in mansions and eat steak every night anyway and i'm talking about entire nations not doing so great prior; along with many people living in "rich countries" not doing so great. where was the fuss then? lots of people knew you cant stretch credit as far as it was. basically corporations and banks were and are screwing people over. they were and are stretching the economy out and extending lines of credit for the sole purpose of maintaining or increasing their profit margins. i'm supposed to be sad for them when they stop gaining profits? better to be the screwee then the one being screwed. i didnt lose billions, what recession? i dont live on credit anyway. that line on my bank statement is a debit payment. it's a stretch relating this to runescape but we'll go with it.

i receive calls almost daily about people wanting to "reduce my credit card debt" i have to laugh, i dont use credit cards! :) it's a sunny day in my neck of the woods. maybe corporations' profit margins shouldnt be the first priority when judging and mitigating an economy. no good jobs because the corporations are shutting down? who put us there? ask this question. since when are we dependent on wall street and those bigwig fatcats? if we are or were noone to blame but our selves for allowing that. and since when did the corporations make it their priority to provide good jobs and benefits? oh wait, they didnt. they went after profit margins. want a house you cant afford? a car you cant afford? dont worry there's someone that will take advantage of your situation and give you a line of credit and in turn you will be obligated to make them rich.

smoke and mirrors all of it or a lot of it anyway. i remember reading a quote from someone that fit this entire situation perfectly. they said, why am i getting the corporate financial forecast? i'm not interested in corporations, i'm interested in my medical insurance, my job, my savings, my investments, my education, my home, and my financial outlook. now the government wants to "save the corporations" the big fat whales that they are and "threatened" for extinction, yeah right. save them so they can continue to run things into the ground; good thinking. no. i learned early on; look out for #1. yourself=#1.[/hide]

jagex will do fine. like you said, membership is cheap. it's entertainment. when people are troubled they seek entertainment to get their troubles off their mind; it's human nature. but, just a thought, ok the internet hasnt been as hard hit as some places so, i'm guessing some people will want to exploit that and you guessed it people will. and some of the business jerks involved/ media corporations may choose to get more involved like they have on youtube; parasites that they are and bloodsuckers; if someone comes up with an idea that's better than theirs they want to get rid of it so they can eliminate competition and let the public settle for mediocrity. that should be more topical and severe a threat i would think, but i could be totally wrong. :P

  18. about the construction article; no i couldnt go from riches to rags because that's poor planning and decision making. no wonder you burn yourself out when you buy 2 demonic thrones and bankrupt yourself; though i understand why you did that... to force yourself to level runecraft or give yourself a reason to.

number 1. i have 99 construction to get that out of the way and i do not agree with your article emphasising buying planks. guess what a butler does? he will unnote your oak logs then take them to the sawmill and turns them into planks. useful? you better believe it.

    2. money is easy to make in runescape at any level.

    3. what takes real determination is a 99 skill true; but nowadays i think the real test is the 200M max. it's like the same # of people with skills maxed is similar to the old # of people with 99's. planning a skill out to 200M xp is underestimated. you could buy outright but do you want to cut costs? are cutting costs worth the extra time involved? what are the markets looking like? what can you expect of future prices? do you have a solid plan?

    4. protections from "burning out"; if you're the type that burns out you cannot blame anyone but yourself. there are numerous strategies to avoid burnout and they go along with practical gaming and money making and diversifying.

    5. if you are planning to level construction to a high level have the butler plank your logs and use those planks to level; and when not literally training construction; do what you do to make money. when i start a skill that requires spending some money to spending a fair amount of money i like to gain that as i go. meaning i dont lose my bank over a skill. i have enough ways to make money in the game, just like anyone, and there is NO reason to deplete my bank to train a skill.

    6. this is just a personal comment that people tend to lack patience and if they dont get a "instant sell" they reduce their asked for price causing the price of what they're selling to go down, even for those that do have patience and see/saw a lot of sales at MAX price. so do we just complain that that exists or adjust for it. we adjust for it but at the same time arent pleased. 1 moneymaking method becomes used by many and loses its value so diversify.

    7. i agree with the sentiment that all 99's require dedication and determination and practical skill and game knowledge; they are a decent accomplishment and anyone with 1 99 skill i believe can get more after that experience. some things could be said about skills being easier to train or money easier to make etc. but i will give people the benefit of the doubt and i consider them accomplished players that are capable of achieving their goals. and a skillcape basically is an indication of that. i favour balanced skills but not everyone is like that; so i dont really make the skillcape the benchmark but they are a reasonable indication that a player is accomplished and capable.
