  1. It's not about the 1-2% difference, it's more about the attitute. Thinking you deserve some special treatment cause you were hacked is not the way to go. Tier 7-9 is around 70k tokens. That's 5 hour (rough estimate) of dungeoneering. That is a very small "sacrifice" this clan is asking. After that you can go back to hoarding your chaotics.

You say that "as long as you don't get CLS and law staves before ...", but EEKS is as much as a niche chaotic as CLS. Same (in a lesser extent) goes for maul.

  2. Sorry to hijack, but I would like someone to run pure essence to the death altar for me, and give me the deaths in return. I'll give you pure ess in bulks of 10k, and you give me the deaths you craft. It's basically free experience for you, and money for mee, so win win!

  3. I was runecrafting at abyss, saw a grave and waited. Then I nearly got a heart attack:

Don't know why he got dices though?

    botter!!!

That's what I was thinking. Has the d claws to "try" to look rich, and then he bots the dicing game hosting it I bet and makes bank, but his script messed up somewhere or somethin like that and he ran off to die.

Wait, are there bots now hosting legit dice games?

I think they only are programmed to shout and accept trades, not to give the winner a payment.

That would be pretty stupid, cause they would lose customers quickly. If they were actually programmed to pay out, it would be a genious idea, cause the odds are always in your favor, meaning you are bound to make a profit long term. I heard it's quite good money, so it would be worth it. (not supporting it though)

and why would he be jealous of numberpure getting scammed. "oh he got scammed a blue partyhat, I'm so jealous".

Seen the vid. What kind of crappy account were you staking that you put up a blue phat vs 100-200m worth? Have you always staked this way? If not, I would find such situations pretty fishy (no pun intended :-))

  5. wow, herblore, summoning and mining really shot up compared to january 2010. BXP weekend and LRC I guess. Funny how cook is growing the least, all the nubs that wanted it have it by now :D

1% of 182k >> 1,27% of 11k... cooking is still growing at a really fast pace, but it's not as large compared to the number of people who already have it- same with strength etc.

I meant relative increase of course :-)

  6. goodbye paper, you make the right decision

i've found a new method of hunting :P

if you have a good inventory combination you can get over 310k exp/h

Wow I was thinking the exact same thing when I noticed how there was no pick up animation just after drinking a juju. Does it work with food? I was thinking you could bring cabbage(8) to have 8 foods in 1 space, cheaper alternative to purple sweets :P

Also you could use hunter potions instead of fletching, might be worth the extra 160gp.

How many hours did you test it for to get the 310k/hr?

Seems pretty impractical (having to bank for food/pots every so often) or expensive (sweets).

@Paperbag: you might have "wasted" 4 years, quitting stops you from wasting more time on it, see you've got to see it positive. Your life has kinda just begun, go out and enjoy it!

  7. It's often worthwhile to go scout the corners of the map immediately after the game starts. If you can find a c5 resource nobody else knows about, that's a pretty big point earner. If you can't find something fairly quickly, settle for a c4 and get yourself a c4 tool for that resource asap. Then next inventory make a pouch, the rest of the tools, and scrolls. Then load up.

The less people at the resources you find, the better. Sticking with the group will get you fewer points.

Fast SC discourages not calling resources though, as it might slow down the overal game.

  8. I agree that good gating techniques, common sense, and quick respons are much more important than the right third bind, or safespotting techniques. As long as people gt immediately when there's a gd, dragging ggs when they need to, do puzzles efficiently, etc... I'm happy. Idc if they mess up safespotting and die once or twice cause of no prayer. That's their problem.

When they don't prioritize killing as they should, that's another thing cause it slows down the whole floor, but all in all, I think the time lost there is much smaller than derps concerning gating etc. ("ggs gt 95 fm quick, gate behind" => guy comes after 20 s, you move gt, and later you find out he only opened the door and didn't gate what's behind)

Of course, good wingmanning/dpsing takes even more than just listening. I hate it when you've got these "plants" just waiting for directions, in stead of being proactive and dragging the ggs, asking for keys, exploring paths etc.

  9. expected returns are always 0 if you're betting 1:1 odds.

All the martingale system does is offset risk and reward.

you have a small chance of losing everything.

and a big chance of winning a small portion of your finite cash stack.

over the course of the martingale betting system.

but when you factor both in, expected returns comes out to 0.

use the martingale system enough and you will get cleaned eventually.

If you wanna gamble sure, have fun with this system.

It can create the illusion of winning more money than you're losing.

but expected profits are still 0. It's a waste of time.

Aren't expected profits of staking always zero if you assume a 50% chance to win?

  10. DGSers with skype are pretty universally great dungeoneers, so if you get skype and join skype teams you're basically guaranteed great floors.

This. Take 3 average people fresh from 148 that just joined dgs, put them in a skype team with Green, Grimy or myself (the keyers who use skype most often) and a wingman and you'll be getting 25 minute floors easily, with a lot of great information for the aforementioned 3.

This. As much as I dislike setting up skype, feeling a little geeky when talking to "strangers" over a game, etc... whenever I do, I never regret it. Great floors, much more relaxed to communicate, and you get to leran more you as you can discuss stuff while dg'ing much more easily.

  11. Go for 99 at once, and make overloads. Work it out in a way that making the overload supplies will get you 95 herb, then combine them for 95-99 herb. Basically what I did, and I've got a lifetime (well, depends how much you play) overload supply now (3.6k 3 dosers). Might cost a bit more, but trust me, you won't regret it, and it's pretty damn fast. Actually the costs aren't that bad if you value your end product above 0 gp (the overload).

  12. Is there some kind of deflect bug with Jad or what is all this deflect stuff?

the prayers known as deflect range/mage

When they're active, they recoil 10% of what a monster would have hit on you with the respective style.

So if jad uses a range attack, and it would have hit 500, but you deflect it, it hits a 50 back on him.

    No bug in any way.

Thank you, that was very helpful

  13. A house in Yanille would be stupid because you can just use watchtower teleport to tele right in the middle of Yanille. Rimmington, Taverly or Relekka are probably most useful, though with chipped tabs, your house can be pretty much anywhere. Mine is at Taverly right now, since I don't DK much (had it there to do Yak summoning training, from before teletabs)

    Chipped tabs aside:

If yanille is "stupid" becuz of watchtower tele.

Then surely rellekka is stupid because of lyre, fremmy boots, lunar teles, slayer and a number of fairy rings that all drop you closer to the useful spots in that area than house does.

Rimmington is stupid because of the number of teles that drop you in more useful spots in that area. Skills necklace, and mudskipper fairy ring specifically.

Taverly because of again another array of teles dropping your right there and closer to the useful spots.

Uhm, a lyre needs to be recharged every so often which is pretty annoying. Fremmy boots + lyre (2 items, waste of space), can only be used once a day. Slaying ring is miles away from the relekka boat. Lunar tele makes you have to take the ship again to pirates cove etc. Also, a chipped tablet to Relekka is nice, but if your going to DKS, you will be carrying Home tabs anyway to tele out once your done, so you can save 1 inventory space by having your home at Relekka (no Relekka tab needed).

I actually used Rimmington for the bush patch which is right next to the house portal. Skills necklace and fairy ring are both much much slower.

    So yeah, please shut up if you don't know what I'm talking about;

  15. HEY SLY:

2 people on a team go into a GD with a primal warrior and a zombie.

Scenario 1: One person has a CCS and one has primal gaunts. One gets excellent DPS against the warrior, another against the zombie.

Scenario 2: Both have primal gaunts. WAT DO

Bind a CSB and cast air surge against the primal warrior.

Congratulations, you just lowered your DPS.

...On 40% of the monsters while increasing it on 60% of the others.

Way too black and white. You do realize that mage-able monsters are often the slowest monsters to kill in GDs, right? And it's not just warriors. I'm honestly confused by your lack of understanding here, so I'm afraid I can't take you seriously anymore. I really should have shrugged you off when you admitted to having never used a third bind, but alas, I made a mistake and I have to live with it.

Any further troll attempts by you will be reported.

lol, I seem to have a better understanding than anyone here.

Most of the mageable monsters in dung have low LP's. The only two with high LP's that I can think of of the top of my head are are black demons and fire giants, though that problem can be easily solved by having one dedicated mage attack them from the start while everyone else clears out the non-mageables. Generally, by the time they finish, the mage should have killed them and if not, then everyone can pile them. Rarely do you see a room with a bunch of mageable monsters with high LP's running around.

Edit: Oh, yeah. Warriors have low LP's. You can usually kill them within 5 or so casts, even the primal ones.

HAHAHA, do you realise that is exactly what they are suggesting? One dedicated mage who will be mostly maging and has CCS bound so he can optimize his mage dps.

By letting the mage prioritize mageable mosnters and meleers prioritze meleeable monsters, the mager won't be giving his dps on 60% of the monsters, since the meleers will take care of those and he can concentrate nearly 100% of the time on the 40% monsters that are left
