  1. The elder dragon ideas are interesting...Maybe the dragonkin (elder dragons) fought humans because we were invading their land? Guthix brough humans to Gleinor (spel) so that would explain the theoretical conflict between dragonkin and Guthix.

Elder dragons....Elder Gods... Remember the Elder gods who created runescape? From the "Meeting History" quest? Maybe the dragonkin got the stone of Jas from the Elder Gods. Also, the stone of jas might be tied to stealing creation, the clay of the (Elder?) Gods...

I highly doubt the elder dragons can be anything but the dragonkin.

  2. Something that isn't considered much are shadow spells. Or ahrims. Because I do beleive the attack/strength lowering effect of it can stack...And when you have 50/90 attack or strength, it's alot harder to hit the mage with melee. Now, if ahrim staff could autocast it....Attack AND strength lowering...

Although mage does need something that can hit 40. If it could hit 40, then you could consistently hit at least 30, which is more then a shark can heal.

So it's maybe a little underpowered...only by itself. Ahrims + godsword works fine for killing. Range plus godsword doesn't work quite so well =p

I don't think we need another spellbook though. Theres already 3. Maybe a new spell or two to hit high damage.

  3. I do battle staffs and bork daily...

I do tears once a week and do kingdom with it. I recently decided to try hunting peguins for summon exp.

Honestly....battle staffs and kingdom is half the money I make on rs, and the only reliable source of my rs money. B staffs is 5 minutes a day for amlost 90k, kingdom is 10 minutes a week for say 500k? Peguins....Last week I decided every monday I'd hunt peguins. However I ran into a bunch of peguins this week \'

I also decided that I'm NOT going to hunt all 10 peguins each week.

  4. Increasing the level cap would be a very bad option, even if it is a tempting solution. It is difficult enough to get level 99 in a combat skill, raising the cap would make the game into much more of a grind that it needs to be.

No, I think that player tactics needs to come more into play than simply getting a Ultra-Super-Double-Plus-Platinum-Diamond-Serrated-Great-Blade of Incredible-Godlike-Awesomo-Victory and blasting your opponent, as well as the local galaxy, into a black hole.

rofl...too true. What Jagex REALLY needs to do is make a pvp minigame where the effectiveness of stats aren't random, make the combat triangle more effective, etc etc. Btw has anyone ever tried just FULL Ah with shadow spells from ancient spellbook? Mage attacks that lower attack and strength...Would be much more viable if ahrims staff could cast ancients.

  5. I just read the first page, some of the previous page, and got annoyed at the stupid prayer debate.

OK, first of all you dumb "lets use protect pray" people need to shut up. Whats the point of pking if you are just going to use a protect prayer? I'll tell u...NONE. You guys are the dumb ones, pures aren't noobs they just know how to pk and get a kill. Let me ask you this have you ever pked someone your combat level praying and actually gotten good loot? I know for a fact that the answer is no since you "lets your protect pray" are just ordinary mains that think: oh let me see if i can 3 item or 1 item and kill some 1 DEF pure or a lower level. Tbh, it takes no skill at all so get skulled and turn your pray off if you think you are all that awesome. I guarantee you will get owned, and badly. Pures own mains(period). Their purpose is to kill people. And need i remind you that the original thread was meant to be for skulling discussion and not for making a fool of yourself?

And so now that thats taken care of, i can move onto the intended discussion.

Yea I have actually have experienced this is in old wild and in PvP, the noobs that walk around with rune pl8 legs and a d scim and ask you to fight and then also expect you to attack first. I see them everywhere and its honestly (making me angry) me off. I think jagex should apply the BH skulls to PvP worlds so we get rid of all the 1 and 3 item noobs.

    Thanks for Reading.

People like you are the type of people I hate. You have no right to tell people how to play their game. If you want to play a game with RS style pk'ing, MAKE ONE. ONLY THEN can you tell people how to play the game. One thing I agree with though, is that there needs to be some PK area where you are skulled and cannot use protect item prayer. And that 3 item pk'ers in old wilde asking you to attack them is kinda pathetic...

How it works is simple - if Jagex puts purposefully puts something in a game, it is every players right to use it. People who disagree with this are generally are just sore losers. If a person uses a game feature that you don't, and wins because of it, you should learn from this player and use this feature next time instead of complaining about it's existence.

This is about more then prayer too...I just think of all the people with superior stats at FOG I beat simply because I choose to run and hide, instead of standing there and taking it and letting them use their superior stats to win...

    Not that there's thatmany...

  6. For all the complanining I've seen about the ge...

Scamming - intentional or not - is gone.

I would much rather dump money into the ge and do something then try to get on world 2 to buy something.

There are no need for middle men - middle men buying say big bones in small quantities, selling in high quantities, or buying something on w2 and selling it on another world...I really admire people who did this, and it really helped out, but IMO an economy is better when these people are not needed...

I'm not the defender of all things Jagex, I just like to make people see the other side of things. Something like the ge could NOT work without SOME form of price restriction (allthough 5% is kinda low...)

And MOST importantly, for all the complaining I've seen, I don't recall seeing anyone coming up with a solution to the problems of the ge...That didn't break the things the ge fixed. With free trade, free gift giving is possible, (and if somehow implemented in the GE would REALLY f- things up) and would allow easy RWT back. It's still done now, but not nearly as easy as before...

I want someone to prove me wrong.

  7. Seeing as virtually ALL my money comes from daily b staffs from Zaff and my kingdom I don't fit into a category...Good article, although one has to wonder how much price manipulation is people and how much is people's reaction.

My skilling...I'll spend millions on certain skills, like farming, to level it up, other skills, like smithing, I'll make cannonballs to level it...(This was me beating varrock diaries)

And I don't bother with merchanting, because I'd rather have say my guthans in my bank ready to use then try to merchant it and not have a set of guthans to use when I slay.

    Good article though =P

  8. Considering that (to my knowledge, may be wrong here) most people use high def, the assasin thing wouldn't work well anyways...I found a glitch (I think on low def) where wearing guthix cloak would make my torso and legs invisible...you could still see boots and head though.

It'd be funny, if this was a secret skill to be a ninja.

okay, well mebe not ninja, but mebbe its jagex letting slip parts of a new skill, or mebbe an agility update? or just a secret beta instead of an accident, mebbe its something like the rocks with the words coming out before spirit of summer

A low-def only ninja skill? That sounds a bit unlikely...

  9. I'm sure that maintaining all those servers and paying their java programmers to code their game costs them money and 5.99 per per person a month may not cover all of their expenses to justify unnecessary advertising.

besides that, people looking over your shoulder asking "hey, what game is that?" is plenty of advertising for Runescape.

You do realise that 5.99 a month per member translates into over 6million dollars a month for Jagex, and 72million a year....

  10. One of the biggest reason the prices are going up is because of people getting so emotional about this think "omg armor is going down I'd better sell it before it goes down even more" and "omg food is going up I'd better get it before it gets too expensive" which from an investment point of view is a perfectly stupid thing to do.

I expect once the update comes out, armor will go ABOUT back to its previous price, as well as I THINK Godswords going higher then originally, food pots etc being more expensive...But emotions pretty much ALWAYS multiply ANY change in the market.

Thats my 2 cents for you. So, who HAS my two cents anways?

EDIT: Quote from PVP update thing from Jagex (too lazy to do the whole quote thing)

"These drop tables will include "PvP world specific" items like XP-modifying gear, lvl 70+ equipment and new, glorious, short-term but hard hitting gear. "

There is a good chance that there WILL be uber amazing armor with like high def bonus then torags AND high str bonus then bandos...AND (after reading PvP world specific) these "amazing" items that are supposedly cauing bandos/arma and all that to go down (ignoring the whole back to school thing) will only be useable on those pvp worlds.

I found that article HIGHLY informative btw...I also came back from a 16 day holiday like a week ago and missed Jagex's announcement about pvp updates. <3:

Not to mention I've hardly been on rs since then and I don't pay attention to the prices of weapons/armor anyawys...

Although if its true I can start skilling more, and training things like herblore without losing 200k per level ^_^

  11. Jagex really needs to completely get rid of those spammy messages. I don't need to be told the my dragon fire shield/potion is working (ironicly, because of the message telling me it works I miss the message saying it's about to run out..or is that just a new message?) and especially when making cannon balls...3 messages every time you use one bar...

ON TOPIC: I sometimes kill a few more just because I feel like it...Occasionally on dusties I will kill "just one more" for a d chain, but I stop myself because it's easy to imagine going on like that for hours hoping that the "next one" will be a d chain.

  12. Good articles!

My wishes...As someone said new temple knight quest would be nice...I'd like to get range/mage prayer armor (ideally green d'hide and mystic type)

I'd like Mourning's End Part 3 to come out.

And...More acheivement diaries and acheivement diary cape! And (ideally) be able to to have trimmed acheivement/quest cape! :D

  13. My first mil: Part one. I was mining pure ess and some guy had sara cloak. Neither of us had any idea what it was worth...I offer 10k for it...He says 15k, kinda wants 20k...I pay 15k. I wouldnt of paid 20k.

My first mil: Part two. Fremnik ilse quest comes out. I die, lose obby shield and cape, come back with quest armor and beat it.

My first mil: Part two and a half. I get a rune defender.

My first mil: Part three. I'm on world two, have finally saved up for obby shield and cape. I look around, someone offers me black cav for cloak. Bla bla bla. See someone paying 1.25m for black cav *double take* Dangit I shouldve traded cloak for cav...How much is cloak..1.1m you say...Someone buys for 1.1m. WOOT! I decide to skip obby shield because I have rune defender and get whip.

  14. It's a good write an all, but I just don't think it's appropriate for a tip.it times. I mean really though, if you bother to read tip.it times, then you are most likely a tip.it forumer and therefore are mature enough to already know everything we just read.

I'm not saying it's a bad write it was originally and well written but it would probably suit newer players and the immature slabs of bacon grease that also play this game.

And also throwing this out, the "did you know" sucked... it was too recent to be a did you know and it was clearly announced by Jagex because they wanted everyone to know about it.

Just my opinion please don't flame me.

    Gets out flamethrower o.O

Well this is Runescape so it would be a salamander...

  15. Nice article. A little short, though, I would have wanted to read a little more about this topic. Don't ever assume anything. My stats are the worst, and does that mean I'm a newb??? No. I've been playing for a looooong time (since way before RS2 came out), and I still have some skills under 10! I spent almost three years on the Crew here at Tip.It, and that cut into my playing time. Add to that my job, my child, my house, you get the picture.

So don't ever assume that someone with crappy stats is a newb. It's the WAY THEY ACT that gives it away.

Wow. The retired Tiptit Crew leader has stats under 10. Never saw that coming.

    Being a skiller/quester, I like spending my time semi-productively on rs...And I'm a complete slacker irl o.O

People need to stop juding people on their appearance...First impressions of people make WAY too much of a difference in people's judement.

This post has no continuity :P

  16. One thing that annoys me is the whip + fury...I think people should compare whip + glory.

"Omg according to tipit calc whip or d scimmy is better!"...According to Jagex, Jad maxes at 97. And from reading this topic, it seems that most people who have actually TRIED this prefer the zerker necklace + obby weapon to d scimmy for str training. A lot of it seemed to be that obby weapons have crush/stab bonus...hmm....New hot-topic? As for controlled on whip.... Somehow between doing barrows and gw I always get my att and def up but not my str, even though I prefer to use controlled. Is it possible that the necklace bonus is to att and str? Void set and black mask and salve ammy is att and str bonus not just str bonus.

if a weapon was truly good it's price would reflect that...it would be just a matter of TIME. for example look at how the price of rune scims shot up when rs2 came out and jagex introduced a new concept of weapon speed...scims became the new weapon of choice over rune 2hs...similarly look at how the price of sara godswords started off less than 50M but more than doubled when ppl found out it's true value...the fact that the price of obby necklace remains low only implies one thing: it is not a good training method. you can rest assured that there are always hundreds if not thousands of people experimenting new ways to gain greater exp everyday and i'm sure the obby necklace would have come across their minds at some point in time but the fact that the price of the obby necklace has stayed down for so long goes to show how unpopular it is compared to other methods suggesting that there is a better option. a good weapon will never just fade away like that...

No, it's not a matter of TIME, the ignorant masses won't realise how good it is/isn't someday unless it turns out to be the BEST option. Unless it is show 111% that it is better then the next alternative.

And someone said zammy spear owns all other weapons at waterfiends.... Guthan's Warspear has better crush bonus then Z spear. And if you already have a guthan set...Z spear does have +2 prayer bonus though.

OFFTOPIC: Dan, speaking of needing accuracy and why people don't use longswords/b axes if they need accuracy...Back when I had say level 40 att str def I had a scimmy and a longsword.I used my scimmy for moss giants and longsword for lessers because I need the accuracy. Things like this become less of a problem as you increase attack though.

  17. the ironic thing about the bank tabs and all that...with the search feature you dont need to be organized! wewt!

spent about 5 minutes trying to organize..was making a miscilanious section or however you spell that...then decided ill just use search from now on ^.^

EDIT: if you think the rewards are bad...

    A) IT'S AN F2P DIARY WHAT DO YOU EXPECT THERE ISN'T EVEN A HARD CATEGORY FOR IT GET OVER IT :P

B)It's the only ring in the game with a prayer bonus. Cabbage tele is very fun to use and usefull to farmers. Having an equippable alch thing is nice, even if it is low alch.

    EDIT2:

OT: I heard some1 made loads of cash of lending godswords and rares abusing bugs of the lending system :/

When something like item lending comes out, and you are capable of lending stuff thats worth over 100m, you have to expect rumors like this to happen. You also must remember that Jagex will have thouroughly tested this so people CAN'T make millions or billions of it. Hard to say either way if it happened.

I personally don't think rares should be lendable, and I'm not sure aboug AGS/SGS and uber expesnive items in general. Maybe jagex could change appearence of lended items or something? And have a way to lend items for money somehow?

And has anyone else but me noticed that the battle mage hood is GREEN? At least it was in my bank, MIGHT still be purple when I equip it. The rest of battle mage is normal colored.

  18. Good read!

Although it sounds quite similar to the last article.

I'd have to say, since my best friend quit rs (he wasn't very into it at the time and then died and lost most of what he had, causing him to quit...) the only thing keeping me in rs is my clan. Although I love quests to much to quit rs...If it wasn't for my clan I'd just play rs the day a new quest came out. Possibly only if a continuation of a quest storyline comes out.

Rs content lasts you a while...but eventually there comes a time where friends are the main thing.

Completely 100% off topic: Does anyone know how to unlock the Bounty Hunter Level 3 song? I was running around high level bounty one day but I couldn't unlock it -.-

  19. *sigh* I remember the good days when Glienor was a vast, unexplored place... Talks like this always make me think of the logical song by super tramp, which basicly switches noobness in runescape to, well, noobness in real life then turns it into a damn good song.

It also makes me think of the proverb, (can't remember all of it) "It is not the destination, but the journey"

Ah the innocence of youth... I feel old when I say that o.O I'm only 16 >.>

  20. You know how a J-mod supposedly posted that this was a complete-able mini-event...I looked a little on forums and saw no J-mod post on this. It's possible that I missed it but...I personally think the J-mod post is just a rumour. After reading everthing everyone has tried, I am POSITIVE this is either just something to make the wilde a little spookier, or a half-released new-mini quest or quest. I urge you not to beleive a J-mod has posted something on this unless you see the post.

  21. Very interesting.. I don't think it has anything to do with the Devourer, because she's too desert related...Maybe something to do with the Mahjarrat...speaking of which, does anyone know where Jagex got the idea for the Mahjarrat from? Because most ideas *are* loosely based off something else..

EDIT: I've been at the place a few minutes now, and got nothing. Going to stay a little long to try and get something....Do you think it's been removed the same way lumbridge diary stuff was removed?

EDIT2: Nvm...I was looking in the graveyard of shadows, not the ruins north of there where it happens. The few screenies of people talking to the invisible ghost there messed me up.
