    Also, something that really annoyed me today. I was talking to these two people in my class about music, and I asked them if they listened to metal, and the first thing they said was "metal is too loud." :wall:

     

    Not all metal is loud, I tried explaining to them to listen to some of the ballads (which I think are the best things in music.) then one of them said "that's so slow". Well I guess not everyone likes metal. But my point is, metal is not just about being loud and noisy.

     

    Ok done.

    I see a personal attack, a flame bait, and a generalization. Nowhere is there even a reference to the topic. I'm not sure you even know how to read based on what I see here.

     

    What, exactly, does "the world" gain from you?

     

     

    What do any of your posts add to the discussion? All you've done is come in here and look down on the Stoner from your perch up high. Don't try and condescend me; these "personal attacks" are nothing more than my counter stroke. Nothing I say can or will change your opinion, so I'm giving you what you deserve.

    The weed/alcohol part was a response to someone saying it's hypocritical to support alcohol but not weed. The red wine part is from when Sees All said red wine has health benefits if you drink a glass a day. You could get these same health benefits by drinking a glass of grape juice, without the negative effects of alcohol.

     

    You claim to have a better attention span, but you didn't read the link with all the evidence in it I posted.

     

    I just want you to know I found this hilarious.

    Jesus Christ, you people assume a lot.

     

    Okay, you have a point when people think they're badass because they use drugs or drink a lot. That annoys me too. But you assume all weed smokers are exactly the same. It turns out, most of us don't smoke to escape. I'm perfectly happy with my life right now, and I'm 100% sober. I'm not taking the easy way out by smoking weed to escape my problems.

    Not my fault a few ruin it for the rest of you.

     

    But it is your fault that you decided to judge an entire group of people based on the "few". Grow up, yeah?

     

    And to anyone who said they don't see the appeal; seriously :-| How into yourself do you have to be not to see it?

    I'm pretty sure it is a parody of black metal, or at least the pirate metal genre started as one. Unless I'm wrong one of the early pirate bands labeled itself "True Scottish pirate metal" after a band called itself "True Norwegian black metal". So it's either a full-blown parody or just metal with a sense of humor.

     

    Er what? There's no such thing as pirate metal and it certainly isn't a parody of anything. That's just Alestorm being all gimmicky cause it's cool.

    @Asmodeous: I too enjoy a healthy dose of cheese, but I've found that bands such as Sonata Arctica coat their cheese with sugar, and I do have a sweet tooth...but it's just too much. And Octavarium is the only album that has literally put me to sleep haha.
