  1. I don't know if it's just me but dark souls 2 felt really easy compared to the first one. Literally the hardest boss for me was the early game pursuer, everything else was too easy. Putting more bonfires in was good, it reduces frustration of having to run back, but maybe bosses should have been harder to compensate or something. The worst was the last boss because it's supposed to be the last hurdle so it should be really hard and epic, but instead it turned out to be of the easiest joke of a fight.

  2. Tried it out a long time ago. Spent a whole day trying to kill bots, I was so garbage I literally almost never killed them. I was the worst newbie in every single team I played, took that as a sign to move on.

  3. I'm surprised to read that so many mini games are deserted now, that's sad they were one of the things I liked the most. Last I played was over 2 years ago and apart from a few exceptions you could play most things with ease.

That said I'm allergic to multi-logging. I've played mmos where multiboxing was allowed, it offered temporary convenience but in the long run everyone ended up playing by themselves and becoming even more isolated than before, it killed a big part of the spirit of the game for me. Never again.

  4. When people say to replace PCs every 2 years they mean in order to maintain top performance on games. Obviously the components can last much longer. I think changing PC every 2 years is a bit excessive, but some people have a lot of money and care a lot about any small drop in performance.

  5. I quit around the time of EoC but I was already fed up with several aspects of the game.

EoC was just what tipped me to 100% done.

I still pop in every few months to see what's new. I've seen talk of tier weapons and armors, I'm out of the loop so I don't understand what anybody is saying. But really all it sounds like is an uphill grind, more work. And to that I say: Nope, I'll pass.

In the past, even on a hiatus I would log in to grab special holiday rewards, it was pretty much the only remaining link I kept with the game. But then they started making major holiday rewards members-only, and I was 100% done with that too. If they think I'll sub just to get a holiday reward, more like I'll never come back again, ever.

  6. Is the wood elf supposed to be hard or maybe I'm just bad? I would sneak and kill one guy, then the others would get suspicious, and I had the time to maybe take off half the health of a second guy, then I'd get swarmed and die. I had lvled up block and one hand as a secondary method for when they got close but the damage was too low.

Few months later, I decided to take up the game again, this time with a high elf and it's been going without a hitch.

  7. Everyone has a favourite year. Mine was 2004, I hated RS2 at first but came to love it, such a huge change and upgrade from RS1 (although I still really like RS1), overall the year I had the most fun. 2005 through 2008 had some pretty fun updates too, but also more grind. 2009 onwards is meh to me, there were a lot of small things I didn't like with many of the updates, not the least of which being microtransaction-y things of course.

  8. Wow. RS is one of those games where getting the max lvl in some of the skills is really long. Mmos are notorious to hog your time, but RS is a bit extreme even for an mmo. I haven't been playing for the past year, or it is 2 years? I don't even know. Are there really people who are just sitting around thinking "Gee I wish I had more stuff to grind?" LOL Or maybe it's jag that's thinking they need to capitalize on their crazed costumers customers. If getting cooking prestige meant getting some epic giant chef's hat, I would do it considering how easy cooking is, that is if I still played. In any case I shall check on the highscores sometimes, I'm sure it'll be funny slash sad to see the extents at which some people waste their life on this game. On some other mmos people are really open about how bad nolifing is, and it's discouraged between peers. But on this game, boy you better not try to suggest that getting 200M exp is insane or you're getting burned at the stake.

  9. Is RS dying? Maybe, maybe not. All I know is I'm not playing anymore. I stopped around EoC, I didn't like spamming skills. The solomon store also annoyed me, if the items had been tradable for gp I might not have minded so much, that way you could have gotten things through normal playing. I logged in briefly to check out this "Runescape 3" hype. There is no RS3, all I see is RS2 with slightly different graphics, all hype if I ever saw it. Maybe the engine behind the game is better or something, doesn't change much to me. Back in RS1 when RS2 was being made, we didn't get any updates for like a year. When RS2 came out, it was a new game, truly a 2.0. This is not the case here. From comments divination doesn't sound that interesting. Obviously I'm interested enough in the game to come here and check up on things, but for now I see no reason to return.

  10. Just got an amazing deal on a laptop from Newegg. Why does this annoy me? Because I'm going to spend the next few days freaking out that there must be something wrong with it for them to be selling it so cheap ($400-500 cheaper than comparable laptops).

Read professional and customer reviews. If there's something wrong with the model, you will find out.

Yeah. Sometimes though it will be alright and you'll get a great deal. My desktop costs 500 less than it should simply because it has more generic hardware in it.

Generic hardware, you mean parts from unknown/less reliable brands? Meh I wouldn't take the risk. If your SSD or HDD breaks for example, your data is screwed, not worth saving a few bucks. And the manufacturers know it, for instance my current SSD has a 3 year warranty. On newegg you can find lots of cheap SSDs but guess what? 30 day warranty, that's it, they know their shit will break.

  12. Hmm so I'm not the only one who thinks Dany is a little too smug, and too one-dimensional right now. Although I didn't think she was one-dimensional in season 1 and 2, because we got to see more of her thoughts/feelings than now. What she he did in Astapor was impressive, but I was surprised she wanted to take Yunkai too. I didn't realize she was on some sort of crusade to free all the slaves of the world. Yunkai doesn't have many soldiers, so I don't see the point in taking it. Maybe they have gold/treasure, I don't know. But what she's got now is a bunch of ordinary slaves, a few could be trained for combat, but the rest are kinda useless. Although now that I think about it, maybe not. The slaves could stay in Yunkai, while her troops eat/rest, prepare ships, and if things go wrong she can return to yunkai, kind of like a homestead.

  13. Suisei is pretty good. Not as good at shingeki though :P they've moved on from the slice of life/fanservice stuff to actual serious story, so that's nice. I don't know how they'll finish the storyline with so few eps left.. too short.

  14. The avengers

When it first came out, everyone kept saying how good it was. So I finally got to watching the DVD and it's.. meh. It's not bad but it's not interesting, either. Lots of action and special effects but a weak story. Loki was like "I've come to deliver you from... freedom". Lol what? That doesn't even make sense.

  15. That's only an illusion though :P

You only ever hear from people who still play. All the people who've quit permanently aren't here to reply.

It seems that theres plenty who post on the forums with 'retired' as their status. Or are they fibbing....? :-k

I can't speak for other people but I wouldn't post on the forum of a game I was 100% done with. At the very least it shows they still have an interest in the game and the community. Plus from my experience, the people who scream "I QUIT!", "I've had enough, I'm never coming back!" the loudest are the ones that never quit. If they wanted to quit for good, they wouldn't feel the need to post here and remind everybody on every thread. The people who quit for good quit fast, suddenly and you never hear about them again (hence the word permanently).
