So now it's cool to not care about achievement, dammit i can never keep up with the xp trends  :(

Rs community are messed up. One week they'll root for and support the people putting their lives on hold for achievements, the next they just talk sht

If only rs was still about making the most out of the few hrs you played like zarfot did, and less about who could chug energy drinks and coffee and stay up for 100 hrs sleep for 5

Your mistake is in assuming that the people in this topic, or in forums in general, are all of Runescape. There's way more than just the folks who talk here. Runescape is about plenty more than folks chugging energy drinks, heh.

Lol i mean i really appreciate the advice, seriously, but obviously it would be easier if i had 20k rather than 20 subs lol.  It's not like im going to just get 20k subs to make these interviews lol, its not that easy i would love 20k subs.  Hopefully though these interviews attract some attention.  I kinda hoped that if the first few got some attention it would be easier to get people to do them, however suomi also is planning on doing a series like this so ya idk if i can compete

Even without a large subscriber base, you still have access to some big markets, such as this forum, Reddit, and the HLF.

Also remember that the point of an interview isn't to just be an entertaining read/listen, it's to make information public. Find a player that has something to say and then give them a platform. Ask them questions about all sides of the issue.

Honestly, you could do a pretty good interview with that guyone kid. He seems like he has a lot that he wants to say and he's struggling to get people to take him seriously. Give him an opportunity to express his interest in legitimately competing for 200m in all skills and you'll probably have something worth reading/watching, even if that's because he makes an ass out of himself.

In what world is tipit a large market? From what I can see there are like 20 people who use these boards.

Seems to always be like 15 members on and like 300 guests, lol.

As with most forums and such, there's always far less people actively talking/contributing than there are reading and lurking.

Seeing what one odd adventurer can achieve in one year, it's no wonder what could happen in 30 years to Crandor and its infrastructure.

This is so true. Our adventurer really should be burnt-out after all this questing. We deserve a ten-year period of peaceful fishing for shrimps/those other very low level fishes in Taverly by now.

It's okay guys, we killed the giant evil laser whale! We get ten years to rest now before we do it all over again!

  4.

Probably better to mtk the logs and still use gp. It isn't all that hard to come by anyway, and there are other bigger issues (Crafting) that will easily outlast construction or summoning worries.

Why is crafting such an issue?

Well what would you do for Crafting?  Craft hides from killing dragons?

    Gold bars from LRC

Am I missing something, or would you need gems too?  And I'm not aware of a way to mass-produce those.  There are gem rocks but I thought those were fairly slow.

You can make just gold jewelry without gems. Rarely happens on a normal account, because it isn't useful the way jewelry with gems is (if enchanted), but it's an option.

Also: Temple Trekking for the silver bars reward is great Crafting xp, too.

So after the update my view distance is totally messed up.

    [/hide]

And fog completely overwhelms the screen when turned on.

Switch camera mode to rs3 and then back to classic, fixed it for me, ty to someone in my fc for the tip

That option is in the Controls panel, btw, not Graphics. And you can get the bug whether you normally use rs3 mode or classic mode; switch to the other and then back to fix it.

I'm honestly not sure what the difference between the two is, actually.

  6. This is nice and all but is there any place worth using the combat familiars. Where you don't 1-3 shot stuff, or use the pack yak?

Rush of Blood is a prime candidate for combat familiars, I believe.

The fix for >2bil elemental runes is hilarious. Who even spotted that one?

Overall, this update feels like just a ninja update. Which is fine, honestly; they're needed changes that probably took a fair bit of work to do, and we're in the midst of getting quite a bit of content with the Elf City.

  7. When would be a good time to buy items to use?

I'd guess now; time has passed from the initial announcement for the hype to die down a bit, and it's not close enough to happening for prices to spike again.

But that's just my guess, and I don't follow prices or merch at all, so take that with a grain of salt.

  8.

Whilst the nature of the elf city comp reqs seem quite arbitrary and 'not in fitting with the typical comp reqs' , what if they had instead been made tasks for the elf city task set? Would people have been annoyed at stuff like reaching wave 20 and beating Morvans slayer challenge.?Because i think they would be perfectly in line with previous task sets activities.

Oh god, you are now saying something....

I truly hope if they make such a task, they will be able to implement it retroactively. I do not want to borrow another Nox Staff for the sake of doing something again that I've done, it would be the Sagas all over again, which I needed to do three times >.<....

I'm pretty sure they've talked about doing an Elf City task set sometime after Batch 2. Knowing them, I wouldn't count on it being retroactive, though that's a possibility.

  9. Thanks for this!

    Major things I noticed:

    • Inventor is not a sure thing, and there'll be polls on the subject.
    • Skillcape rework is still in the works (yesss)
    • 200th quest should be a doozy
    • We're decently likely to get Seren prayers/spells in the future
    • They're still thinking about the rotating minigame incentive idea
  10. Shields are always going to be a hard sell when everyone wants to hit bigger numbers.  Wasn't that the point of multiplying everything by ten in the first place?

I think the main point of multiplying everything by 10 was actually to make life a bit easier on newbs who start with only 10hp. Multiplying by 10 means you can have enemies that deal what would've been tenths of damage, letting combat at such low levels last longer and be less risky.

  11. As someone with a handful of disabilities... you literally cannot cater to everyone. Every disability is different. If you make the game accessible to one, then you may well be making it inaccessible to another. Adding certain features and options can make it accessible in some ways without hindering others (LoL does a good job of this with their colorblind mode, and most games have re-assignable inputs), but making bosses less difficult to cater to the disabled is silly and actually kind of insulting.

So, don't use that as justification in this discussion, please.

All that being said: I do think Rush of Blood is a fine comp req. It takes some luck and persistence, but that's fine. Other high level PvM is more questionable, to me, but I can see it going either way. To me, the comp cape has always been much less about skill and much more about persistence and time investment. Including high level PvM disrupts that, some. I definitely prefer that it be reserved for trim - adding high-tier bosses to normal comp definitely shuts out a group of players from obtaining it, including some who previously had comp before those reqs were added - but I'm not going to throw a fit over including it either.

  12.

I got a lot of crystal weapon seeds from pickpocketing.

Also, I really can't kill the 20 waves at Blood Rush, tried alot, but I still fail. 30 seconds per wave is way too few. I'm not that 1% with lvl 90 gear and a lot of PVM experience. I really don't understand why these reqs lately are added to the normal comp.

PVM skills in RS are basically non existent.

Rush of blood comes down to "can you time thresholds and sunshine and not fail to tds/glacors or mispull jadinkos/ganos"

As someone who struggles with bossing in Runescape, I'd say there are definitely PvM skills.

Perhaps not as much as other games, but honestly that's why I like Runescape; I only miss out on a small portion of the game's content by being bad at PvM instead of missing out on the majority of it.

  13. So with the Elf city out is there new dailys within the daily stuff worth doing? If there is, could anyone list all the dailys up to this day that are worth doing?

Not really any new dailies, unless you count the herb/tree patches.

There is a new weekly Slayer D&D.

Edit: Ah, right, there is the crystal tree blossom; I forgot about that since I haven't been able to plant one yet.

  14. clarification for the dark elf title: in order to attack seren, you have to both have the cape AND the shard equipped before the option turns up, and you have to use the shard on her beforehand. silly and complicated but yeah.

I didn't have the shard equipped when I got that title. I think it's just finicky and may take a few tries.

The thing I noticed from the memoriam crystals was

Haluned (the "elf" Seren made to be her eyes and ears) = Eluned, maybe? Eluned says she doesn't remember her childhood and has no parents, and she seems uncommonly good at chanting crystal, so that seems very possible. I suspect the next quest to do with the elves/Seren will expand on this.

  15. so there's a second gold statue in the max guild that doesn't get effected by rocks you put on first statue.

Don't tell me when you finish first statue you get another rock.....

    edit-

no fun. Td during platinum rush of blood... no item swap or darklight. fun being a punching bag for 7 mins so i would still get full reward.

on the plus side weekly d and d reset token works for it.

Yeah, when you finish the gold statue it gives you a rock to put on the one in the Max Garden. The one in the Max Garden is the trim comp req; have to do the main statue 32 times to finish the one in the Garden.

  16. I spent the past 30min picking up abandoned drops in the Cadarn area.

Edit: This was while the Voice of Seren was on Cadarn, so there were at least two people killing rangers/maguses there the whole time. Now that the Voice has moved, it's not so populated or so profitable to just pick up drops.

    11X3N98.png

Rangers drop 8k coins, mages 12k; dwarf weed and lantadymes are unnoted, kwuarms and toadflax are noted and 2 at a time. I think it was 6 grenwall spikes per drop, 16 arrowheads, 15 runes, 4 addy bars, don't remember mage logs. No 100% drop (no bones, since they don't actually die).

    Those coin drops add up!

I killed a few myself; got two Ranged gold rocks by meleeing rangers, but no rocks when ranging mages... might just have been a bug that got me the Ranged rocks while meleeing.

Also, use your shard of Zaros on the bit of Seren upstairs in the Tower of Voices for some fun/scary effects. Also The Measure on her, too.
