  1. This seems so odd this simple question's gone unanswered for so long, but hopefully I can help.

If you're talking about what I'm thinking about (one audio source to multiple speakers) - the answer is fortunately very easy. Have you ever seen someone sharing an iPod but both users had headphones thanks to a headphone splitter? It's that simple! They come in a multitude of designs, styles (some even look like robots/animals) http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8V234-WHT-APL-Headphone-Splitter/dp/B0000UV2AW. If you need to output to more than 2 speakers, then you can just buy more splitters and hook them together (like a tree - that's what my band does during recording sessions). The Belkin one I linked you is partially priced due to the fact it's a Belkin. If you search around a bit more on Amazon or especially eBay, you can find them super cheap.

Now, still assuming you're outputting via 3.5 (the green/headphone jack type plug), a splitter isn't going to give you what you need, in terms of both distance and matching female/male ends. That's where extension cables come in - again, in all ranges of prices and lengths - such as this one: http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-AUD-1100-06-6-Feet-Stereo/dp/B000SE6IV8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1313621365&sr=1-1.

Hope I helped, let me know if this isn't what you've been looking for.

  2. Upload a copy to a portable device with a mic and internet access, that's step one. Then have a setup where it can communicate with the one on my computer via internet, so they're one AI with one history. Then just use it to surf teh internetz with voice commands, really.

    Unless I'm misunderstanding this thread.

You're understanding the thread perfectly, but why just limit its use to clicking back/forward (if I understand correctly)?

  3. An interesting question. If you had an artificial intelligence program, what would you make it to?

I'm going to limit the resources here - nothing quite complex. You've got a computer with internet access running this thing. Let me clarify...there are NO ARM/LIMB PERIPHERALS connected here. You can't command it to strangle everyone and take over the world, let alone make a sandwich, regardless of the small number of toppings. This thing can talk and access the internet. That should be enough.

Imagine you have an artificial intelligent assistant (with proficient text to speech, speech to text engines) that you can delegate tasks to make your life more productive/enjoyable. For example:

You're playing Call of Duty slumped in your underwear on the couch on the stairclimber with a graduate level physics book in your hand attempting to solve world poverty. However, your friend calls you up about your movie date later, and needs to know the showtimes. Options:

a.) Sacrifice losing the multiplayer match your innovative train of thought, go to your computer, load up Google, and get the showtimes. Oh no, you've lost it - you'll never get to the next prestige another day the world will go hungry.

b.) Casually inquire (out loud) "[AI name], can you please retrieve the showtimes for Iron Man 2 this evening?". You hear a voice speak "Certainly, sir (madam)". "Showtimes this evening for [awkward voice] Iran Man 2 are at 6:35, 7:50, 8:22, and 10:00." "Thanks! Also, look up XxXxXx1337xxXXxxX's play history record this note..."

    So, what would you do?

  4. Risk vs. reward. A relationship can provide greater gains, but also greater loses.

EDIT: Bleh, double post. Another example of risk vs. reward. Click 'post' again with the doubt it initially posted for double-security, risk posting twice and looking unorganized and/or pathetic and less helpful. Disregard.

  5. I've been analyzing my past educational now that I'm close to graduation. I know that the standardized tests are based on high school math subjects - Geometry, Algebra I/II, english subjects, and so on. But, is that all?

If you were to relearn, or say, "re-teach" yourself your past educational courses, which ones would you choose? My main interest is - would you bother relearning any topics outside of your (current/past) high school education?

I've been looking in retrospective, and I can't see anything worth relearning from elementary/middle/pre-secondary schools. I feel like they were just steps to get up to high school courses.

    What do you think?

  6. It does work... it just... don't have any "programs"... I'm not sure what I would like to make it do. Adding 2+2 isn't what I'm shooting for...maybe a digital TNT cannon interface? Help me out with some ideas, if you please.

  7. Oh my... I hope I'm not too late... had to deal with some studies for school.

Why would I want a couple hours with a Jagex mod? Why do I deserve it? I'm only a level 78... I have no fancy skills capes. I don't even have an active subscription to members any longer!

Well, I am requesting this opportunity because Runescape has had a massive impact on my life. I've logged a lot of time in this game - met many and developed deep, lasting friendships with a few. At one point, I even ran my own Runescape newspaper on the web. I had an entire team and everything.

What would I do? I would talk with one of the developers of this impacting game. I'd ask deep questions, seeking inspiration for my own coding studies and my own development. I'd ask to see some Jagex mod powers in action (massive chicken mob?), ask for answers to questions I've developed over the years... I'd try to tackle anything and everything I can think of - from the serious stuff to the funny stuff. And of course I wouldn't hoard this all for my benefit... I plan on documenting and sharing my entire experience with the limb of the massive part of my childhood - TIF!

Please consider me. I'd really like to take this opportunity and get to the core and just have some fun with one of the people who've made this great game. Thanks!

edit: Oh, and, for the record, I'd resubscribe if chosen. Of course. :P
