    I have been working on a Venetian-style ceramic mask in my pottery class for the past couple of months.
     
    I will confess that I had some help with the sewing, though. A mould was also used to create the mask itself. Coils were then added to it in order to create a design on its face, and the eyes were cut out in order to look like a traditional mask. Gold acrylic paint was used to accent the coils.
     
    Finally, music sheets were cut out and placed over part of the face and then coated with clear acrylic.

    It was 8 AM. I was leaving my house in order to go to school when BOOM! the house rattled. Needless to say, it scared the living hell out of everyone.
     
    Anyway, the local news network just explained what the sonic boom was. It was the space shuttle Discovery flying over Little Rock, Arkansas.

    Snow

    My state is getting its first snow this year. :)
     
    It's accumulating on the ground due to the sub freezing temperatures, which isn't very common where I live. It's actually rather nice.

    Photoshop.
     
    I just got Photoshop Elements 7.0 for Christmas, and I'm excited! I've been trying to create myself a new signature for the past few hours, and I think I'm getting close to finishing it! I'll probably get really into this stuff once I can master the program. I also got Adobe Premiere Elements 7 for Christmas, so I'll probably make videos and edit them once I get around to learning how to use the program.

    (By the way, if anyone who knows a lot about Photoshop can help me with an issue when trying to apply text to a layer, please PM me so we can find out what I'm doing wrong. The text doesn't appear on the layer when I go to the text tool and type something in. I did it earlier and it worked, but I was messing around with warped text tool and it disappeared. Thanks.)

    The Teachers' Union in my school district has called for a massive strike after the school board has passed a motion stating that unions will no longer be recognized. With a large number of the teachers at my school in the union, the school should be pretty much empty.
     
    Tomorrow's going to be pretty interesting.

    Crapload of Snow

    We're having a crapload of snow (so far it's about half a foot, and we're anticipating at least a foot), and it's pretty awesome. It's pretty rare to have snow at all in central Arkansas, though.
     
    Oh well, no school for me. :P
