1. Ugh, I've made another blog. -About Me Alright, well in the slight chance you DON'T know who I am, I'm Brendan. Or Nomad.... or Starman. I used to go by starman945, then iTz Starman, THEN Sensiitivity, and then I became... Nomad. I'm annoying as all hell, am Jason's [bleep]boy, will do anything for money, and am an amateur PVM'er. Wanna teach a noob a thing or two? Just bring me along with you! -Long-Term Goals 80+ All skills (GOD DAMN IT DIV WHY DID YOU HAVE TO COME OUT WHEN I WAS 2 SKILLS OFF 80+ FFFFF-)Quest Cape25m Cash StackRemodel House according to planned layoutFinish Statue of DahmarocForge Royal Crossbow (currently assembled/unforged, sitting in bank)Go on a boss hunt with a group of people (AND NOT DIE -.- )Get a full suit of XP-boosting armor (Golden mining suit, lumberjack outfit, Squeal outfits, etc)100 QBD Kills1000 Frost Dragon Kills92 Herblore90 Construction90 base-combatQBD KC: 5/100; Frosts KC: 224/1000
http://runetrack.com...ser=tztok-nomad -Stats

-Bank Pics I'll try to update these once a month, for the sake of updating my bank pics
Coming soon -Recent levels and accomplishments
Bringing Home The Bacon
75 Farming 75 Thieving 78 Construction 81 Firemaking 85 Magic 87 Constitution 83 Attack 85 Ranged 78 Crafting
Statue completion (#6) 80 Summoning 84 Ranged 79 Slayer 84 Strength 100th Task Completed
83 Ranged 78 Slayer 86 Constitution 85 Mining
Quest Cape: Fire Cape: 2,000 total level:
2. Ive noticed that players have trouble skilling at times, and i came up with an idea to help them and other people. Say your a miner who's looking to be a mage, you mine rune essence and give it to someone who's rune-crafting and they'll trade you runes for the essence. Its like the old days where people would run essence for money but instead they'd do something for you if you do something for them. I wanted to make this a good place for everyone to find people to help them with what ever and i know not everyone has money to spend yet. if you would like to just pay someone with in-game GP for old school for items like the old essence running, then go for it. \:D/ Post below what your name is and what you have to offer/what skill you'll be willing to do & what your looking for in return.
3. Seen loads of posts in the 200m all skills thread in regards to Rs07. I can see how they're a similar topic, but since there is a dedicated OS forum I reckon it's a decent time to jump in and start this topic here. So without further ado.... Feel free to discuss: Contenders to achieve 2277 first First to various 99s Strategies relating to 99 all in RS07 Optimal training methods/efficiency Tracking site for Rs07 http://crystalmathlabs.com/tracker/ (Thanks to ca2theone for linking and Foot for making it) Initial notes
4. 22nd of February 2013 Jagex did an important thing that might change their runescape income for LIFE They've introduces the old classic runescape which we all know and love Watch the video here    8-)
5. Hello there! :) I am Avidly. My real name is Joey. I'm 20 years old, I have been playing this game for a good 8 or 9 years. I've been a loyal player from the start. The skills I have already achieved are a personal achievement for me because I've worked hard to achieve them :) Here are the skills I am currently at: Sorry for my summon being 0/88. :P Here's what I am trying to achieve: 99 in the following skills: - Attack (91/99) - Strength (91/99) - Defence (94//99) - Hitpoints (97/99) - Magic (97/99) - Runecrafting (93/99) - Construction (98/99) - Agility (98/99) - Crafting (98/99) - Mining (98/99) - Smithing (98/99) - Firemaking (98/99) - Slayer (90/99) - Farming (98/99) - Summoning (90/99) And possibly, - Dungeoneering (91/99) Reasons for this goal: I have always wanted to gain a crazy amount of 99's in one go, I got 4 in one go before but I want to triple that and more! This is more than just a RuneScape goal, I want to be a maxed player and devote my time to helping others achieve their goals, and playing castlewars too much for that trimmed completionist!I can't stick with one skill for too long anymore, so I decided this would be a good thing to do based on my style of playing :)I will post regular pictures of my level ups and then when the time arrives, will post an event that is my 13 (or 14!) 99's at once in which everyone who reads/comments on this will be invited to! Thank you for reading :) Goal changed to 15 99s as that max cape is too good to pass up ;) RSOF link: [qfc]48-49-903-64625267[/qfc] STATS: 23rd July, 2013 (Second day of RS3)
STATS: 5th February 2014
6. The Silent Guardians (1750+) Hello and welcome! Thank you for checking us out. I assume you are here because, like us, you too are looking for some people that want to participate in group events such as Dungeoneering and Bossing. This is normally where I would recommend you to look no further, but please do. I'm pretty confident that you're going to come back to this page to give The Silent Guardians another look anyways, and this way you'll KNOW that you're making the right choice. Why? Well, let's list what we have to offer... It might sound ridiculous, but how about Free money? Free XP? Free Dungeoneering tokens? It's true though. All it takes is for you to participate in our events. Think along the lines of Stealing Creations, Barbarian Assault, hunting for the rarer drops from Bossmonsters, or chilling in the Citadel (on its way to Tier 5, where we will aquire a Summoning and Crafting plot). With a bit of luck, you'll soon have everything you ever wanted to buy and more. We're also ready to accept you to be part of one of the oldest communities of RuneScape. Sure it's got its scars, but like our members once said: "It has a lot of history, but it also has a lot of history." We also offer you protection. By that we mean that you can always ask someone to accompany you to the Wilderness and cover your back while you do what you need to do, such as hunting for Penguins or defeating and looting a Warband. And it'll be a tough job to NOT find a partner for whatever Bossmonster you want to defeat, minigame you want to play, or Dungeon you wish to explore. Social Slayer partners, a Trawler crew, or a Brewing buddy, they're all gathering up for you! We do require a few things from you in return. One of those is a total level of 1750 or higher. We set this so we know that the people joining us have some knowledge of RuneScape, as well as have a relatively rounded character. Also, once applied and accepted, we'll need to gauge your activity. To this end we will first need you to attend 5 events over a 30-day period. After that you can graduate up to full member, and the requirements will drop down to an average of just event a week. Mind you, this WHOLE time you can enjoy our clan to the fullest by being simply in the ClanChat! There are also some technical options. Idling on IRC, having Teamspeak available, and being forum active are all part of what it means to be a true Silent Guardian. We have these in order to make our events run all the better, and organize our trips properly, but they aren't necessary for you to have right off the bat. Beyond the requirements, there are a few things that are expected of every member. Treating one another with respect should be a given. Putting in your best efforts to not only better yourself, but the clan as a whole also goes without saying. And OBVIOUSLY we want you to have fun. And to that end we hope to soon see people organize their own events, rise through the ranks, and perhaps even bring in new members themselves. As the saying goes; "A friend of a friend is my friend." Well, it's a little bit different, but if you feel you can't leave your buddies in a different clan, me and my people are more than happy to come meet up with you guys and talk you through everything you all need to know about the Silent Guardians. And if that doesn't convince you or them, we'd like to know why... Because that means we're doing something wrong! Our information: In-game Clanchat: Wilderness Guardians IRC chat: #wg_lobby on Swiftkit's IRC Website: http://www.wildernessguardians.com/ -> [Non-PvP clan] People you can contact: Well ME of course! Post in this thread or PM me over these forums, or even find me in RuneScape itself! I'm Eventsmaster in all of the Wilderness Community, and am the second in command of the Silent Guardians ONLY to our leaders. Other people you can contact in game: Bassism - the leader of this clan. Mojohaza1 - the hardest working person you'll ever find. Rachellove9 - the friendliest person that any clan can grace. Something else that you should know: The Silent Guardians are a new arm of the Wilderness Guardians... It is active on the RS3 servers, but nothing prevents you to join our exploits on the 07 servers as well... It is both there and here that we uphold the highest honor in our Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement of any clan, and it is the same one we've upheld for all 9 years of our existence since it started as a clan to protect people from PK-ers in the first place... Here's the recruitment video (which directs to many more videos, should you opt to view them) for you to enjoy!
7. Runescape used to be very much involved with their players, letting us vote on the changes we wanted instead of just adding them. I feel like nowadays, as the world economy plummets, their focus has shifted to only gaining new players and increasing membership fees for more money. The opposite will be happening most likely as players are quitting the game and they are losing money. The only thing Jagex really can do is almost rewind their updates back to before the armor update and start letting players vote on content again. The SoF and Solomon's general store are of no concern to me because I honestly can't really care how people will spend their hard earned dollars on spins that rarely give anything good or cosmetic items with no real value. But the rest of runescape should be focused on what the players really want. Jagex, bring back voting!
8. As part of our recent forum upgrade, we have added a filter that only allows the posting of images from specific image hosts. The reason we made this change was not to inconvience you, but for your protection. Without the filter in place it was possible to host an image on a private website and harvest the IP addresses of everyone who loaded the page with that image on it. Because of this we decided that the extra security of whitelisting image hosts was necessary when we gained the capability to do so with the recent forum upgrade. We have already added most of the major image hosts to our whitelist and are constantly watching for more safe hosts that people regularly use to add to the list. That being said, we don't think of everything and there might be an image host that you want to use that we just don't know about. If you have an image host that you would like us to look into, please post it on this thread and we'll take a look. However, we will NOT be allowing personal websites for the reasons listed above. Current Approved Hosts
9. SwiftKit & SwiftIRC Partnerships The entire Tip.It Staff is super thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with SwiftKit and SwiftIRC. With SwiftKit, we will be the new providers of their client data. In exchange for our data, they will bring Tip.It traffic through links in the client to "full versions" of quest guides, item pages, and more. As part of our agreement, we will be moving our official IRC channel from our own server to SwiftIRC. From this, SwiftIRC get the additional users from Tip.It, and in return they will make announcements regarding some of our news and such for all of their users to see. You can connect to the IRC channel either by using our IRC Chat Page or by pointing a client to connect directly: Server: irc.swiftirc.net Channel: #tip.it In light of these changes, we have created a new forum below the RuneScape and Clan sections for all SwiftKit-related matters. Check out the new forum here. If you have any questions about the SwiftKit client, encounter any bugs, or would like to make suggestions, please post in the official SwiftKit board! The Tip.It Staff and I are really excited about these partnerships and feel that they will heavily benefit everyone involved. :) New Tip.It Feature: DGSweeper! Over the last few days, we have been working with one of our staff members, @Stev, to move his DGSweeper tool over to Tip.It! If you're not familiar with this tool, here's some brief information: This tool will now officially be hosted by Tip.It and will continue to be maintained by Stev with the aid of our staff. We have a brand new forum available for all your DGSweeper needs. If you need help with the client, have any questions, or would like to offer some suggestions, please check out our DGSweeper forum. Note on Third-Party-Client Rules As you know from this announcement, Tip.It is officially supporting two RuneScape-rule-abiding third party clients. Therefore, you are now free to discuss and link to these approved clients (SwiftKit and DGSweeper). However, we are still not allowing links to any other third party clients. SwiftKit is a well known and trusted third party client and DGSweeper is hosted on Tip.It so we are able to monitor the code and ensure that it is safe. We cannot guarantee the safety or security of any other third party clients, which is why we do not allow advertisements or links to them. Please remember this when posting!
10. In the open is a quickchat line. This is all very interesting, lol. Certainly a step in the right direction for Jagex for stopping gambling.
11. Hey all! Partaxx here, with some RuneScape song remixes! These are a few I've done so far, more to come. I've been trying to get them out there and get kind of a name going for myself. It would be awesome if you guys would check these out and let me know what you think of them!! Cave Background Remix This is a Cave Background Remix! For those of you that may not recognize the name, it's the song from the mine underneath Falador; one that I'm sure holds a special, nostalgic place in our hearts from days of old. Let me know what you think! This is a new kind of thing for me, having incorporated actual instruments and vocals into it. A Daemonheim Rendition This one is a complete overhaul of the Daemonheim music, also currently the main theme of RuneScape, with realistic instruments. It's a little slower, and a lot more powerful. It took a few days but I think it was worth the work and it was a lot of fun. Let me know what you think of it! Port Sarim Remix I had techno remix in mind when I started this one. Port Sarim is the place I would always seem to be when I was a noob way back in the day. I think it turned out pretty well. Spooky Remix I began this one with the intent of doing something similar to A Daemonheim Rendition wherein I would recreate it realistically, but it quickly switched courses and became its own thing. I really like the way this on turned out. I would especially love feedback on this one. Well, there we have them! I hope you all enjoy! Thank you so much for all the support through the past few months, and thank you in advance for any feedback on these!! If you guys like what you hear, please consider liking my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PartaxxMusic! You will be updated there whenever a new song is put out! Also you can follow my blog and other things at my website: www.PartaxxMusic.com! And if you guys have anything you'd like to hear, contact me at any of the above places or here and I will see what I can do! :) Partaxx
12. Alright so a little background info on me. I have played Runescape since around 2005 and am currently playing and leveling a zerker pure on old school Runescape. However I have always wanted to make videos (whether they be guides, funny or even pointless yet entertaining videos) so I have recently decided too. I love to live stream and often upload segments of the live stream to youtube. I have a lot of runescape knowledge to offer and a lot of interesting Ideas a lot of Runescaper's might find handy. I think it would be cool to get a thread started for everyone to share their videos and grow their channels. I for one will subscribe to anyone that supports me as well. If you're interested you can check out my youtube videos and subscribe at http://www.youtube.com/user/RtThreeRS?feature=mhee Also you can follow my live stream at: http://www.twitch.tv/rtthreers Any support is greatly appreciated and I would love to get involved in this thread and community in general.
13. Good evening gentlemen, My name is Imperator RS and I am from the United States. I would probably be considered a new player comparing myself to some of the veterans on here but I started in late 2011. Unfortunately, I have been playing on and off due to other priorities in my life but am confident I'll be sticking around and working on my new account. I decided to create an account on Rune Tips because of how much I used to refer to the website for guidance while I was playing RuneScape and the long history behind its creation. Also, I feel the website could use a hand gathering information for guides or for other articles which I would be happy to contribute! Anyway, please feel free to say hello and I look forward to meeting you. :shades: Humble regards, Imperator RS
14. Update coming out on Monday October 13th Quick find code: 16-17-314-65433538 Hi everyone! At Jagex HQ we’ve watched the Ironman Challenge explode in popularity and have really enjoyed seeing players take on the challenge in youtube videos and livestreams! If this is new to you, the Ironman Challenge is a community-craze where players start a new RuneScape character and have to play entirely self-sufficiently – you can only use resources and equipment that you’ve got for yourself and cannot get help from others. It’s a lot of fun and really tests your skill and game knowledge, as well as giving that feeling of being a wide-eyed newcomer to RuneScape who has to fend for themselves – even for grizzled veterans As much fun as this is, there are some drawbacks at the moment: there isn’t an easy way to show that you’re playing an ironman character, and there is no way to prove that you’ve honoured the rules of the challenge (or tell if others haven’t). This is where we could help! We’re considering adding a mode for ironman into the game, to support this awesome community-created gameplay. We’re treating this as an experimental project, and can’t yet guarantee if or when it’ll come out, and may release a very basic implementation before deciding whether it gets developed further. (The Old School RuneScape team are considering an ironman mode too, which makes a lot of sense as ironman’s popularity really grew out of the OSRS community. If you’re an Old School player keep an eye on the OSRS dev blogs and forums to join that discussion when it starts soon.) At this early stage, we’d love your feedback and to get some discussion going over the right ruleset for ironman. Here is an outline of the rules and game mechanics we’re considering so far: - Ironman mode starts with a freshly created character. - Once entered into the ironman mode, it cannot be turned off. - When in ironman mode you: -- Cannot trade with other players -- Cannot use the Grand Exchange (except for buying Bonds – ironman your way to membership!) -- Cannot pick up drops from players -- Cannot pick up drops from monsters you have not killed -- Cannot participate in multiplayer minigames -- Cannot be affected by other player’s beneficial spells or abilities (e.g. Ice Asylum, Tele Group, etc) -- Cannot be affected by group buffs (e.g. clan avatar) -- Cannot use other player’s POH services (gilded altars, lecterns, etc) -- Cannot acquire resources or equipment from Treasure Hunter -- Cannot be assisted or accept aid. -- Cannot buy items in shops which were supplied by other players -- Cannot join a Dungeoneering team (only solo allowed) -- Cannot use the grouping system when it launches - Players in ironman mode would have a special chat badge, maybe a skull (like the mod crown or VIP star). - We’ll need to find a way for ironman players to complete Shield of Arrav and Heroes Quest solo. - As a stretch goal, we’d consider a hiscore table filter to just show ironman players - And a final twist: an extended mode for the bravest of the brave - Hardcore Ironman! -- Also requires a freshly created character -- You only have one life – once you’re dead that’s game over! -- Only your hiscore remains. -- Hardcore ironman mode would show a different chat badge (maybe a red skull). That’s what we’ve got so far. Please let us know if you can think of any other considerations or ways to make this even more fun! Mods Easty, Philip and Pips. [DISCUSSION] My Suggestions: I made a post on the 200M All Skills topic about Ironamn mode. NO MTK, Only Drops are Coins, Bones, Ashes. p.s. Why is this being discussed in the 200M All Skills topic? Yeah Good luck to anyone going for 200M All Skills in Ironman mode or Hardcore Ironman mode!! Ironman Mode - Status Update Our announcement of an official version of the Ironman Challenge for RuneScape has created quite a stir! In this post I’ll give you an update on progress and tackle some of the common questions and concerns the community has been talking about. This post will talk about Ironman in “RS3”, the version of Ironman for Old School RuneScape has it's own developer blog over in the Old School Announcements forum. Treasure Hunter - Let’s get the biggie out of the way first. Treasure Hunter will not be available in Ironman mode. You will not be able to open the treasure hunter minigame nor acquire keys. Being very luck-based, and being associated with micropayments, both mean this was going to be controversial with players looking for purity. Obviously this has an impact on revenue but in this exceptional case I felt it was best to take this decision so Ironman can get as much community support as possible. Hiscores – Ironman and Hardcore Ironman will both appear on the main hiscores. However, there will be a separate Ironman hiscores too which will show Ironman and Hardcore Ironman accounts. There is then another separate hiscore for just hardcore ironman. Bonds – Ironman players will be able to buy bonds from the grand exchange, or be given them via trade from another player, but they cannot sell bonds and they cannot redeem bonds for Treasure Hunter keys. This means players can use wealth on other accounts to pay for membership on their Ironman character, as many have requested. Downgrading – If you want to convert your ironman account to a regular non-ironman account you can do this by buying the Book of Manners from Mr Ex in Edgeville for 100k gp. Can you guess why it’s called that? Worlds – Ironman characters will play on the same worlds as everyone else. Account linking– or having multiple characters within the same account – this would be a big change to how accounts are managed and characters are selected and we have no plans for this. Shield of Arrav & Heroes Quest – Key items from these quests can be traded via the normal trade system similar to bonds. All other items are blocked and you’ll receive a message such as ‘You cannot trade this in Ironman mode.’ Monster tagging & drops – You need to both tag and cause at least 50% of the damage to get a drop. Monster tagging & XP – Your XP from killing monsters will be proportional to your damage contribution. Disabled features – The following features will be disabled for Ironman players – Lootshare, PvP XP, PvP Loot, Group-based abilities, group-based spells, group-based buffs, other player’s divine locations, Treasure Hunter, Assist, Accept Aid, and Social Slayer. You can still access other players PoH’s except parts of their house are blocked (portals, lectern, altar, etc.) Nerfed features – Clan Citadel skill plots only give 25% standard XP. Minigames / D&Ds – Any activities which involve multiple players and give resource or XP rewards will be disabled. This includes Sinkholes and Warbands. Life-saving items – Such as Ring of Life or Sign of Life. As the player has to earn these themselves, they will be allowed. Hopefully that covers most of the major discussion points players have been talking about. Hardcore Ironman Hardcore Ironman has itself generated a lot of debate. It’s worth noting that we don’t intend this to be a widely used mode: it really is for just the most hardcore of players who want an extremely difficult and high stakes experience. If you die in Hardcore Ironman mode you are dead forever. You can log into the lobby but not a game world (and therefore stay on the hiscores). However “safe” deaths (such as in dungeoneering) don’t count and are not permanent. Some players are understandably worried that connection problems could get them killed and they’d lose their character for something that wasn’t their fault – but in our view that is part of the risk and challenge. That said, we are going to put in some very basic safety nets but we’re going to make you work for them – it is ironman after all! The first option for continuing after death is to unlock the ability to automatically convert your account to regular Ironman if you die. You can buy a Jar of Divine Light from Mr Ex for 100k gp which will mean the gods will see you again upon death, and allow you to return to life as a normal ironman. This is an unlock rather than a physical item (like the scroll of life from Dungeoneering). This will cost GP so players will face a tactical choice in whether they dedicate precious money towards this safety net. The second safety net is to play long enough to earn an extra life. If you’ve reached total level 1000 and can afford 100k gp you can buy a Divine Coin from Mr Ex, which when offered upon death will return you to life just once. You can buy another at total level 1600 for 10m gp. This means there is a maximum of 2 extra lives and no further. We feel it’s important to make this feature a reward that you have to earn, rather than it being applied to all (otherwise everyone will just start playing hardcore ironman rather than regular ironman). Be aware that we will not do character rollbacks or recoveries for Hardcore Ironman characters under any circumstances – that’s the risk you accept when starting this type of account. So that’s nearly the end of the Ironman status update… the final news is to tell you that the start of private testing will begin on 29th September! As you may have seen in this thread we’ve asked for volunteers who can dedicate time to testing a pre-release version of ironman. This testing will be in the live game but only accessible by pre-made accounts that Jagex will provide and which won’t appear on the ironman hiscores. We’ll be randomly selecting a small number of volunteers from the forum thread in the week before the testing begins. Full release is a bit further away, and will depend on how the private live testing goes. TL;DR Ironman won’t have Treasure Hunter.Bonds can be acquired but not sold, and not redeemed for Treasure Hunter keys.In regular Ironman mode you’ll be able to buy an item with gp which immediately converts your account to normal (non-ironman).In Hardcore Ironman you’ll be able to buy an item with gp which if you die converts your account to regular ironman. At total level 1000 you can buy an extra life for 100k gp, and at total level 1600 you can buy another for 10m gp.Private live testing will begin w/c 29th September, but such accounts won’t appear on hiscores. We’re really interested in your feedback, especially around the topics of death in hardcore ironman mode. Overall we think this is a good rule-set (and we don’t want it to become more complicated) but we’d love to know your thoughts on the balance and details. Thanks and we look forward to your thoughts and to bringing you more info in the near future. Mods Pips, Easty, Philip, Ryan, Drew and Kelpie. BTS 119 - Ironman Mode

17. F2P Trial Expansion Quick find code: 380-381-1-65435439 We all have the same aims for Old School, we want a vibrant and active community as well as a stable game to play. We both believe that F2P has a part to play in achieving this which is why we are opening the F2P trial to players who have not had membership for 90 days. As we mentioned when we first spoke about this in the ‘Bots & F2P’ dev blog in May, our biggest risk with F2P are players unsubscribing and playing the F2P game. If the revenue generated by Old School starts to suffer because of this there is the possibility of support for it being allocated elsewhere which in turn will mean less updates. This is something that neither you nor we want. A successful game is something that both you and we want. This is why in May we opened F2P on a trial basis for new users. When we launched the trial we were looking at two things, how will the bots behave and will the new accounts decide to go to F2P and either become members 2 weeks later than they would normally do or not subscribe at all. Bots When we released the F2P trial we did see a sudden glut of bots join all with the intention of farming yews and selling the proceeds. However, it seems they hadn’t read the dev blog properly as we mentioned we would disable yew trees for the trial. We saw a huge amount of accounts with level 60 woodcutting standing around scratching their heads just before we banned them. The graph below shows the amount of unique bots in Old School. As you can see after an initial peak over the first couple of weeks, the bots in game have remained stable and at a very manageable amount. This led us to the conclusion that F2P without the yew trees was not going to increase the bot population. With the added improvements in the bot hunting processes we have, we are seeing that 75% of gold farming accounts are banned within 48 hours of being created so bots are more under control now than ever. New accounts One of the things we wanted to answer with the F2P trial was how the subscribing behaviour would change for new accounts. When the F2P trial launched we immediately saw a reduction of about 30% in new accounts becoming members. However, this was more than made up by new accounts entering the trial and then becoming members leaving us with a net gain which has allowed Old School to grow in members every day since the trial came out. The trial has been a success in regards to extra members it has bought to the community. The F2P to P2P conversion rate we have seen is as good as Runescape has ever had in the last 5 years. The average subscriber played Old School for around 23 hours before becoming a member and as you can see from the graph below 90% of players who subscribed, did so before the 11th day of the trial. Due to the strong conversion rate and that most players are subbing well before the end of the trial, we have no plans to extend the trial for a longer period of time or offer a F2P version where you have access to it permanently. We think that giving permanent access to F2P will cause more members to unsubscribe without bringing any noticeable increase in new members which does help delivering what we are all aiming for; a vibrant and active community to support the stability of Old School. We know that for some of you the prospect of a permanent F2P system which is similar to how it was in 2007 is appealing and you will be disappointed that we are not heading in that direction. However, it is important to realise that the commercial environment has changed hugely in the last seven years and revenue streams such as adverts bring in a fraction of what they did back in the day. The next steps One thing that did surprise us with the trial is that there were a significant amount of players who created new accounts, played them for a bit and then subscribed an existing account. These are returning players who went to the trouble of making a free account and then realising that they were enjoying themselves and then making their main account a member again. Clearly, the next step to take in this trial is to remove the barriers for returning players so they can access the trial on their main accounts. So, from the 24th July until the 28th of August, any account which has not been a member for 90 days will be able to access the F2P servers for 2 weeks. This will be in addition to the trial continuing to work for new accounts. While this second part of the trial is ongoing, we will be analysing the results to see how things go. In a similar fashion to the new account trial, we will be monitoring how returning players subscribe and what changes this trial will have on them. Once we have the data we need from this trial, we can look at what the next step will be. How you can help With the trial opening up for returning members this gives a great opportunity to get in touch with past Old School players. We were told by a lot of you that some of your friends didn’t want to come back and start a new account and this is the ideal opportunity to let them know that now they can. For all the clans out there, we will be allowing you to update your member lists in the clan cup if you want to invite some old clan mates to fight for you in the F2P clan cups. Let’s get some impressive turn outs which will help push clans forward and show everyone what excitement you can get. We hope to see a lot of players take advantage of this opportunity and to help even more, we are leaving the summer special offer of 25% off 3 months of membership open until the 28th July. So, they can get a good deal on their membership too. At the end of the day, the more success we have with the trials, the bigger and better the community will become. You will see more players, make more friends and enjoy Old School even more. Mods Alfred, Ash, John C, Mat K, Reach, Ronan & Weath The Old School Team
18. Video discussing my thoughts in more detail here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLsgSca5bK0&feature=youtu.be October looks like it's going to be an exciting month. Nothing ground-breaking, but everything is a welcome and interesting update. Top mentions are: KBD: Old boss revamps are always bound to revive dead content, especially something as old as the KBD which literally has not been exclusively touched in years. Should boost both QBD and KBD popularity with the ornament kit drop. Finally, I am really looking forward to the new lore introduced. I'll probably go out and kill KBD a few times (if possible granted the high accessibility and low difficulty of the KBD) just to find out about it first hand. H'ween Event: I forgot to mention in the video, but I do believe this year's holiday event is the first event where Jagex is offering rewards beyond typical cosmetic items in the form of the ecto-whatever-crusher. It's not a significant item, as the bonecrusher itself isn't very big, but it should be a nice little thing to have. Not really anything else special, although Jagex also seems to be going away from the Grim Reaper theme of Halloween and overall making less of a big deal about this seasonal event. May just be because there's two this month. Eh. Solomon's Store: Not all worthy mentions are good ones. I could rant on about the increased emphasis on clearly unpopular microtransactions, but instead I'll comment on how Jagex is focusing increasingly on their latest microtransaction method. Notice the progression from loyalty store -> SoF -> Solomon's, and how they've slowly put more weight on the newer one while easing off the older ones.
19. Hello there TMHT zealots! It's been a long time since the Tip.It's Monster Hunting Team has been active. And recently some of our team members have shown interest in bringing TMHT back to life. I think it's about time we try. After much discussion I decided to create an "opportunity event" instead of an organized one. Through the following mentioned days I will be hosting the boss events and should enough players participate; The day(s) will be declared as the official TMHT's first comeback event. Should it succeed from that day on I will be hosting 1 event per month until further notice. The friend chat is named "Comeback" (Since I was unable to write TMHT <.< ). And it can be joined by anyone. If you are unable to join the friend chat, private message me (Hokuspokus). The world will be announced 30 minutes before the start of the events. It will be in a Loot/Coin -share world. 27th of December 2015: King Black Dragon. At 19:00 till 01:00 in-game (UK) time. Tip.It guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/King_Black_Dragon_Guide.htm 28th of December 2015: Kalphite Queen. At 16:00 till 22:00 in-game (UK) time. Tip.It guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/kalphite_queen.htm 29th of December 2015: Giant Mole. At 18:00 till 00:00 in-game (UK) time. Tip.It guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/mole_hunting.htm 30th of December 2015: God Wars dungeon. At 17:00 till 23:00 (UK) time. -The boss will be chosen at the start of the event, based on what bosses the attendees are able to access. Nex wont be hosted. Tip.It guides; Armadyl's forces: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/armadyls_eyrie.htm Bandos' forces: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/bandos_stronghold.htm Saradomin's forces: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/saradomins_encampment.htm Zamorak's forces: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/zamoraks_fortress.htm Remember to bring your own food & equipment. Make sure to read the guides for the specific bosses if you're unfamiliar with them.* As a safe measure; The basics will be explained in the start of the event just in case. *Please notice that some of the guides are out-dated (but don't worry, the basics haven't changed much), which is another good reason why we should venture there; To update Tip.It's database! ;) The goal is to play together, to learn about the boss mechanics and furthermore; To have fun together. :) So this is a great opportunity for those who are tired of spending countless, boring, lonesome hours grinding bosses with a wicked grin face. It's also a fine opportunity for those who are eager to learn the bosses and their mechanics; Even for those old stagers who are already familiar with the same old faces, but seek more methods to refine their skills! :shades: Lastly I just want to say that TMHT is far from over. There's a lot more that TMHT can still do. And I for one can't stand idle to the thought that TMHT truly met it's end, I wish to change that truth. However this isn't something that can be done alone, oh no! It's true that a lot more can be done alone in the game nowadays than before, but if you ask me; RuneScape is a game which is best enjoyed with other players. And that's the reason I started playing RS in the first place. Hope to see you there and happy holidays everyone! :^_^: Edit: The friend chat is named comeback, not owned by the player named "Comeback". Apparently you need to type in "Hokuspokus" to join the friend chat, just noticed this.
20. ~A Rune Pure & Range Tank Clan~ www.tastevengeance.com Official Clan Intro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cX6SvU2o75E More videos coming soon! Unofficial monday trip - The usual :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AcV_nNY3wc 1. INTRODUCTION Welcome to Vengeance's Official Clan Recruitment Thread. Vengeance is going for an extremely organized Rune Pure/Range Tank Clan. We're a fun loving community with people from all around the world. We have people from every timezone in Vengeance. Vengeance have their own Forums and requires Teamspeak3 for communication. As a founder of the clan I can tell you that I've been part of clanning since 2006 and that I started playing Runescape since 2003. After being part of the leadership in a pure clan for more than 3 years I decided to go Zerk on one of my maxed pure accounts. When I realized that there wasn't any official Rune Pure / Range Tank Clans out there anymore in OSRS I wanted to create one myself since I knew I had the capability to do so. I have experience with leading trips, managing a community, creating forums, creating teamspeak servers and so on... The main goal is to create such a clan like Higher Force or Valhalla back in the day (pre-eoc). Which means that Vengeance will be run professionally, have the organization and experience. For obvious reasons this will take time, experience and the right people to do so. We decided to name the clan 'Vengeance' because we wanted something that both Rune Pures and Range Tanks have in common with each other. 2. REQUIREMENTS Depending on your build you have to meet one of the following 2 stats requirements: Rune Pure - Voider - Zerker 60+Att | 85+Str | 40-45Def | 80+Range or 85+Mage | 43+Pray Range Tank - Mage Tank 70+Def | 85+Range or 85+Mage | 43+Pray | Att+Str must be less than 148 combined If you do not meet the stats requirements: You may try to apply with lower stats or a different build. Your attitude, knowledge of pking and combat level will be the main deciding factor in that case. You must have Barrows gloves. If you're still questing for bgloves you can only be part of the public section of the clan until you meet all of the requirements. You must have Teamspeak3 downloaded! You are not required to have a microphone, however, you must use teamspeak in order to listen to commands given by leaders during PVP events or communication with fellow members on PVM events. 3. JOINING Interested in joining us? Well, here's how: First, you'll want to come into our in-game public friend's chat 'V Public' and get to know the community. The next, most important step, is to register on our Forums, introduce yourself, get 10 post count and then you'll be able to post your Member Application. Our application process is very simple (6 questions) and the current requirements are reasonably low for the moment because we're just starting up the clan. 4. CLAN INFO Vengeance's Forums: tastevengeance.com Vengeance's Clan Chats: V_Public (public chat - everyone can join)V_Event (official events - only applicant+ can join)Vengeance's Home World: W346 Vengeance's Team Cape: Team Cape 16 Vengeance's Teamspeak3 Server: v.teamspeak3.com 5. RANKS Click the Spoiler to see the explanation of all of our available ranks. 6. RULES NO Flaming or Flame baiting. NEVER flame a fellow clan member or a player from another clan. You shouldn't respond to the flame or flame bait(*) but rather ignore and collect evidence (pictures, videos ect.) and present it to the ranks. Action will be taken accordingly.NO Ignoring instructions. You are to listen to the higher ranks and do what is asked of you within reason. If you refuse to do so you may be kicked from the trip and/or booted depending on the velocity of you actions.NO Disrespecting a clan member. You should NEVER disrespect a fellow clan member from Vengeance (this includes being Racist/Trolling and Flaming). Treat everyone equally and treat everyone how you would want to be treated.NO Unethical behavior. You are NOT to hack, scam, lie or report (even if you are joking) your fellow Vengeance members. This rule extends to the forums, Teamspeak and also while in-game playing Runescape.NO Unpreparedness. We want you to become an organized member of Vengeance, This means you keep up to date with Vengeance and its upcoming events. Don't turn up to a PK Trip/Prep/ Mini War without the right gear and/or supplies.FOLLOW the Rules of Runescape. Other than our previous clan rules you also have to follow the Rules of Runescape for obvious reasons.*These are the Rules and Regulations that you must follow if you are to join/remain in Vengeance, breaking or disregarding these rules and regulations WILL affect your position within the clan.
21. Description: When viewing the Tip.It Community Forums in Secure Mode (HTTPS) with the 'Deflection' Theme active, the "Tip.It Community" Blue Header Banner is being Force-Loaded in Non-Secure Mode (HTTP), which causes Browsers to not fully consider the Forums to be Secured. Reproduction Rate: 100% -- This is ALWAYS REPRODUCIBLE!!! Steps To Reproduce: Head to any page on 'forum.tip.it' with Secure Mode (HTTPS) requested. ("https://forum.tip.it" will do, in order to test this quickly.) Go to the Bottom of the Page. Click on "Change Theme" Select "Deflection" from the available list of choices. Address Bar will no longer fully register the 'Tip.It Forums' site as being in Secure Mode (HTTPS), all because of the blue "Tip.It Community" Header Banner being Force-Loaded in Non-Secure Mode (HTTP).What should NOT happen: Forums acting Non-Secure (HTTP) in the Address Bar when Secure Mode (HTTPS) is being requested by the visitor. What SHOULD be happening: Forums registering as being in Secure Mode (HTTPS) on the Address Bar when the visitor requests it. Comments: I did happen to pin down the offending chunk of generated page code on the "Deflection" Forum Theme. Here's what it reads... <img src='http://forum.tip.it/public/style_images/17_14_tipitcommunitylogo-deflection.png' alt='Logo' /> ...so you can quickly fix this small-but-annoying bug. Having this same issue on another site recently caused this one to come to my attention. Well, that, and the fact that apparently Google has started cracking down on Non-Secure site accesses in their Chrome browser. I unfortunately heard about that one third-hand, to which I ran a web search and tracked down proof at https://www.wearegecko.co.uk/blog/security-dangers-of-http/. I might be on FireFox myself currently, and therefore the disruption in my view is smaller, but I would not want these forums to get avoided because of Google's active shaming of Non-HTTPS usage. :o ~Mr. D. V. "I'm a natural 'Bug Magnet'... At least I'm trying to do something positive with it..." Devnull (P.S.: You might be wondering... "Why's this nut using such a full-format bug reporting style?" ...to which you can thank another, totally different website for that one. It will probably take a while before this reporting style bleeds back out of my mind, if it ever does.) (P.P.S.: By the way, why isn't there a "Bug Report" or "Forums" tag for selecting? It really would have been useful here!)
