  1. This thing did take me awhile to do, but I think the main reason why I managed to succeed this time was because I used Storm of Armadyl instead of Polypore Staff. 1st attempt: Wave 10, misprayed on Jad, dead. 2nd attempt: Wave 25, accidentally lured the Ket-Zek out of its spot without mage prayer on, got 1-shotted. 3rd attempt: Wave 35, misprayed on Jad, dead. 4th attempt: Har-Aken, got bombarded with magic tentacles when I was using gano + pray range. Funny thing was, on ALL of them, I screwed up on the Dill wave really badly (at one point THREE Dills specced me simultaneously), but I still managed to live through panic brewing. Now I gotta train my stats a bit more before I start doing Kiln for money. But yay, got my cape at last :>
  2. Lately, Mish has been leveling quite fast, every now and then he would talk about leveling and say that he'll pass me one day. Pass me? LOL Pfft. I haven't cared too much until today, July 10th 2012 when said to me "Alex I'm going to pass you real soon *hehe giggle giggle titter titter etc* :>" In my mind i thought, "R u fo cereal" I check his stats and he was right on my tail lmfao. -Happynooblet Another welcome from me, and I must say there is not a greater motivation to level up your total then to best your fellow players. And who else to challenge me in a conquest of the higher total but my good friend Happynooblet. The best of luck to him, but the day in which I pass him draws ever closer! Enjoy -Mish Starting Levels! [spoiler=Original Pitch]I'm hoping this data can be useful for wikis, fansites, and F2P players by allowing us to better find the best monsters to train on for each combat method. I then plan to use this data to better pinpoint the best training method for each of the three combats. EDIT: Thanks everyone, both of the goals for this topic are complete! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Results: Training Melee: Deadly Red Spiders Gear: Rune 2h sword or Gravite 2h sword, full Rune armour, charged Rune Gauntlets, Carapace Boots, Amulet of Strength, Team Cape, Explorer's Ring. 4. Hello all, I'm looking to help the Tip.It community expand, as EOC has changed many of the guides, making players unsure of what to do/bring when hunting monsters, such as the Mithril Dragon. *I will not reimburse your items or money for anything you lose in this dungeon. If you die, it's on you. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. This area is being classified as HIGH-RISK. DO NOT BRING ITEMS YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO LOSE. EXPECT DEATH AT EVERY POSSIBLE MOMENT. DO NOT "AFK" HERE. Before we get into any of the details, let me just give you a small bit of information. Mithril Dragons are the real deal. They are not to be joked around with, even as a high level. I've watched people get slaughtered. (Even maxed players!!) The dragons attack with ALL 3 PARTS OF THE COMBAT TRIANGLE, PLUS DRAGON FIRE. Due to this being a melee guide (maybe I’ll expand it later, comment below if you want it or not!) you should be warned that these beasts can hit fairly high, sometimes seemingly going straight past your armor. When you’re within Melee range of the dragon, it should ONLY be attacking you with MAGIC AND MELEE. If you’re being hit with ranged attacks, you’re most likely being targeted by a different dragon, in which case you could be screwed if you don’t get out. Try to remain in areas where there is only one dragon. Moving away from the dragon will not cause it to immediately follow you; it will merrily just rain death upon you with magic and ranged. Although any experienced player would say “You should do that at max combat, because you'll get loads more KPH and you'll make mad monies dawg $$.” I’ll just tell you that you could scrape by with stats as low as 85 (To actually get SOME kills... If your stats are below 80, you won't get more than a couple kills, if one at all.) Although 99’d stats would definitely give you a great edge in kills per hour and such, they aren't needed. (But recommended!) I'll post my stats because I'm not scared of any trolling or banter that I'm a "noob." For one; I've had MANY accounts, including one with 99 Hunter, 99 Fletching, 70+ Farming, 99 range, 99 Firemaking, etc. I'll get them all again eventually, but in good time :) [insert updated stats here.] I’ll make this area as basic as possible, and for the more in-depth details, look below this section! Recommended Levels (Melee): Attack = 85+ Strength = 85+ Defence = 85+ Summoning = 67+ (War Tortoise is very helpful, if that’s the best you have.) Prayer = 70+ (If on normal book) 70+ (If using curses, 70 for deflection curses. 92+ is highly recommended for Soul Split, and 95 for turmoil.) *Please keep in mind that with EOC now, protection prayers only absorb up to ~50% damage when praying against an attack of that similar type. Adjust your equipment accordingly! Herblore (If making your own potions) = At least 69 if you plan on making your own Antifire potions [YOU MUST USE A SHIELD TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM DRAGON FIRE ANYWAYS, THESE REGULAR ANTIFIRE POTIONS WILL NOT FULLY PROTECT YOU.] If you’re buying your own potions, then so be it. If you aren't 90+ stats, I would HIGHLY recommend extreme potions if you can afford to train to those levels. [Levels 88-90]. Boosting your stats as high as possible will greatly increase your damage output, increasing your kills per hour. Of course, prayer potions are a must. At level 38 Herblore you can make them, or you could just buy them. If you’re looking to stay down in the lair as long as possible with the same amount of potions, players with high Herblore (Level 94) can make Super Prayer potions (Non-tradable.) At level 85 Herblore, you can make Super Antifire potions (Non-tradable), which will benefit a high level player greatly, as you can dual wield weapons, increasing your damage output greatly. If you’re already 96 Herblore, it’s a no brainer; just use overloads. If you don’t have any torstol to use, then you can substitute extremes, but you’ll be using more inventory space filling in potions than other items for your trip, which will more than likely reduce your kills per trip, meaning less money per hour, if that’s what you’re after. NOTE: You need to have completed Barbarian Training to access the dungeon. (More specifically, the fire making portion.) To do barbarian training, go South of Barbarian Outpost to the lake, and go around the South West side of it to find a hut, containing Otto Godblessed. A guide to Barbarian Training has already been made by Tip.It, so I'll post that here: http://www.tip.it/ru...an_training.htm --- For starters, getting to the Mithril Dragon lair is rather simple. (All three of these guides to get to the dragons are made assuming you've completed Barbarian Training to the point where you've been given the ability to enter the dungeon. Otto will tell you that you're able to go in after the fire making portion of the lessons.) Alright, so I’ve spent enough time talking about getting to the actual dragons, but how about slaughtering them? :D There are a couple equipment setups you could consider that would be efficient for killing Mithril Dragons if you’re aiming to take down a lot of them. Items to use – Quick Note: I haven’t used Ganodermic at the dragons yet, but they have a high magic damage soak. (The armor has great magic defense.) Feel free to use it, I prefer my Bandos setup shown below :). Due to players commenting about me not including higher level, expensive armor into the guide, I'll include it for them. Head: Slayer Helmet* > Helm of Neitiznot > Veracs > Fighter Helm > Other Barrows Armor > Void Amulet: Amulet of Fury > Amulet of Glory Cape: Completionist Cape/Max Cape > ***TokHaar > Fire cape > ***Skill cape > *Cape of Legends/**Soul Wars Cape *Only cape with a life bonus. Life bonus of 100 **Second Highest prayer bonus of all capes at 6 ***The TokHaar cape offers .4% more melee bonus over skill capes. The Skill capes offer more armor bonus over the TokHaar, as well as 2.4% mage/range bonus. Pick whichever you prefer. Shield/Off-hand: Nex Gear** > ***Off-hand Chaotic Rapier > ***Bandos War Shield = Dragonfire Shield > Anti Dragon-fire Shield > Void Deflector Weapon: Chaotic Rapier >Chaotic Longsword > Korasi’s Sword > Whip Body: Nex Gear** > Bandos Chest Plate > Barrows Armor > Void Legs: Nex Gear** > Tassets > Barrows Armor > Void Boots: **Steadfast Boots > Nex Gear** > Dragon Boots Gloves: **Goliath Gloves = Culimancer Gloves 10 > Culimancer Gloves 9, etc. > Void Ring: **Ring of Stone (i)/Any other good combat stat boosting ring > Ring of Wealth Aura: Vampyrism = Greater Reverence *If on a slayer task. Do not use otherwise. DO NOT use the slayer helm if you plan on using void. You need 4 void items including the helm to get the bonus it offers. People have been telling me that void got “nerfed” with EOC, so it may not be worth it to use it. It has low defence and doesn’t offer much bonus HP. Use it if you want; I don’t anymore. ** I put Goliath gloves as equal to the Culimancer Gloves 10, because the Goliaths degrade. I personally use the Culimancer Gloves 10. Also, I use dragon boots (because I don’t have the money for steadfast boots, and I also use a Ring of Wealth because I can’t be bothered to get a Ring of Stone (i) lol. I don't have Nex gear either. I’m also 99 Attack/Strength/Defence, so I don’t need quite as much damage bonuses. ***ONLY if used in conjunction with SUPER ANTIFIRE POTIONS. The Bandos War Shield was set equal to the Dragonfire Shield due to its higher bonuses, if you need those bonuses to make a difference in your fighting ability. Prayers to Use: Protect Item Deflect from Magic OR Melee (If you choose to wear dragon hide armor, that obviously has high magic defense bonus; you should concentrate on melee protection [and vice versa].) Piety (Or your best stat enhancing prayer such as this.) Curses to Use: Protect Item Berserker Deflect Magic/Melee (Your choice [as mentioned above in the prayer section], depending on your gear setup/stats.) Soul Split Turmoil Side Note: Below, you will see some gear setups/scenarios as what to wear/bring. If you can’t use certain items due to level restrictions, swap them out for other potions/items. Also, if you don’t use the action bar or any of the new abilities, consider swapping the adrenaline potions out for food, or other potions. Edit; [spoiler=Second Setup (Inventory)]For the second setup with Extreme potions, I forgot to include prayer potions. Substitute as many potions OUT as you would like Prayer Potions IN. Remember, you'll be drinking stat boosting potions semi frequently to deal the most damage possible. If you run out of stat boosting potions but have a lot of prayer potions left, you need to try a different combination! :) This setup emphasizes melee protection, assuming that you’ll be Soul Split flicking, or just using Soul Split, or just protect from/deflect magic. Combined with Turmoil/Piety and high stats, you can WRECK them. If you can't use the potions I showed, swap the higher level ones out for the lower level ones that you can obtain. Beware, you won't get as much/as many boosts to your stats to aid you in killing the dragons. [insert Proselyte Picture] [Coming soon! :D] (As soon as my friend sends it to me :P) Proselyte armor is to be used if you’re looking for prayer bonus. Defence isn't as high as any high tier armor, but if you choose the correct Prayers/Curses in combination with your stats, you can definitely make it work. If you have stats that are ~90, (about 90), consider swapping 1 of each potion out for more food. Use the BEST food you can. [insert Void Picture] [Also coming soon :D] I would NOT suggest void, but it’s your choice. As stated above, I have heard that the “bonus” you used to receive has been “nerfed.” Combined with low defence and low HP bonus, I wouldn't suggest this. (Normal Void and Elite Void have the same stats I believe, the changes are purely cosmetic. PLEASE comment if this is false, with evidence so that I can correctly update the guide.) Special Thanks To: The Tip.It team for allowing me to make this thread to help others, even if it isn't perfect yet. You guys have definitely helped me with the game, whether it be quest help, skill calculators, or just general guides. +1 to all of you! It is intended to show you the methods that strike a balance between efficiency and ease of killing. Seismic and Tectonic will be assumed to not exist. There are more efficient ways to do glacors, but I feel this method is the most balanced. I decided to make this guide because I see other people at Glacors all the time, and what i see makes me sad. I've seen everything, from melee momentum (i still dont even know) to killing enduring last, to people going for 200m mage letting unstable explode (the horror). Hopefully, this guide will get you to at least 105 (all T80 equipment), 100 (T80 weapon + T70 armor), or 90 (<T80 weapon) kph. Introduction: Glacors are level 160 elemental monsters available to kill after the completion of Ritual of the Mahjarrat. While glacors are not the best monster to kill for money, for anyone wanting either magic, defense, or to a lesser extent summoning experience, Glacors are your best bet. Glacors offer between 500-700k magic/defense experience per hour, charms roughly equivalent to 80-120k summoning xp/hr, as well as roughly 5M profit per hour. However, they do not not drop summoning spirit gems. Glacors are accessible through the fairy ring system, with the code D-K-Q. The easiest way to get to Glacors is lodestone teleport to Edgeville, then using the fairy ring to get to the Glacor cave. 2. Requirements: This guide will have some things as a strict requirement, which will be marked in red. Otherwise, the optimal choice will be in green. Ritual of the Mahjarrat One of a Kind Charming Imp Torment (95 Prayer) > Soul Split (92 Prayer) 99 Magic > 80 Magic > 70 Magic 99 Defense > 80 Defense > 70 Defense Virtus Wand+Book > Chaotic Staff > Abyssal Wand+Orb > Armadyl Battlestaff > Staff of Light > Treachery+Book *Extreme Magic Potion (92 Herblore) > Overload (96 Herblore) > Super Magic Potion SGS Legendary Pet > Clan Avatar > Pack Yak (96 Summoning) > Any other Familiar * If you do not already have overloads made and do not value herblore experience, it is not optimal to spend time making them for Glacors. You do not get enough of an exp boost from using overloads to account for the time needed to make an overload. 3. Setup: Inventory/Equipment: This inventory allows for a 30 minute trip, with a SGS pet or an avatar. If you are instead using a yak, bring enough magic potions/renewals for 1 hour, and fill the pack yak with 20+ prayer potions. Runes for spell. Charming imp 1 Super magic flask 1 Prayer renewal flask 15 Prayer potion (4) Placeholder for shard, blue charm, crimson charm Weapon: Virtus wand > Chaotic staff > Abyssal wand > Armadyl battlestaff> Staff of light > Treachery Staves are not as terrible as most would think. However, using a staff punishes mistakes much more than if you are using dual wield. Spell: Blood Barrage > Blood Burst > Fire Surge* Blood burst is equivalent to Blood barrage if you use Abyssal wand or Treachery. Armor: Virtus > Subjugation > Void mage > Skeletal >> Seasinger Always. Power. Armor. Do not use seasinger under any circumstances. If you have no other magic gear, buy a set of skeletal (Level 50 power armor) Cape: Completionist > God > Max > Skillcape > Reefwalker Prioritize critical hit chance. Do not use reefwalker as degradation is bad. Also it has bad critical stats. Ring: Seers(i) > Onyx(i) > 6AC > Wealth?? > Leviathan Again, prioritize critical. Someone test wealth for me and figure out what it does Necklace: Dragon Rider > Arcane Stream > Hiss > Fury > Glory The 10% damage boost to dragon breath and the chance to combust on the dragon rider necklace makes it the best choice. Aura: Wisdom > Inspiration > Equilibrium > Penance > Vampyrism Explanation to be written in future. Prioritize experience, then kill speed, then kill ease. Pocket: Elements* >>> Magic >>>>>> everything else Familiar: SGS Legendary Pet >> Avatar >> Yak > Bunyip=Unicorn If you are thinking of picking up items, having the legendary pet is a necessity. It will speed up kph by ~10+%. Otherwise, try to use clan avatar. If that is unavailable, use a yak, and if all else fails, a unicorn/yip. 4. Glacor Killing (Basic): What is a Glacor: Glacors have 30000 HP each, and have an unique mechanic to make killing them slightly less straightforward. There are 3 phases to a kill: 1. Initial Phase: (15000 HP) The glacor attacks with magic and ranged basic attacks, with a special attack that looks like spikes going towards you. If you remain standing at the same spot, this special attack will hit you for 50% of your current HP. This attack can not kill you. Furthermore, the magic attacks of the glacor have the ability to temporarily bind you in place. This is not a stun, but a root. 2. Glacyte Phase: (3x 4250 HP) Upon reaching 15000 HP, the glacor will become invulnerable and summon 3 glacytes, which attack with weak melee attacks. These are the unstable (light red), enduring (light blue), and sapping (blue). All three of these must be killed before you can damage the glacor again. During this period, the glacor will continue to attack you as in phase 1, retaining the special attacks. Unstable: Has "adrenaline" bar. When this fills up, the glacyte will explode after 2.4 seconds, decreasing its HP by 95% and dealing 33% of your current HP if you are standing adjacent to the glacyte. If not killed in 6 seconds, the glacyte will slowly begin to regenerate health and build up adrenaline to explode again. Enduring: Takes less damage the closer you are to the glacor. Takes full damage 12 squares away from the glacor. Sapping: Drains 10 prayer points every time it attacks you. 3. Final Phase: (15000 HP) The glacor will gain a buff that depends on the last glacyte killed. Aside from this, the glacor is identical to phase 1, with the same attacks. If Unstable is killed last: The glacor will build up "adrenaline" and explode at the end, dealing 50% of its current health to itself and 66% of your current HP if you are standing within 2 squares of the glacor. If not killed in 6 seconds, the glacor will regenerate health and repeat the exploding process. If Enduring is killed last: The glacor will take 1/3 as much damage as it normally would. If Sapping is killed last: The glacor will drain 10% of your current prayer every attack. How to kill Glacors (Basic): NEVER kill the enduring glacyte last. This will make your kills so slow it is not even funny. NEVER let the unstable glacyte explode. This makes you get <100 experience from the unstable glacyte instead of 991.2. If you are unable to kill unstable quickly enough, kill it before enduring if necessary. Do not prioritize either sapping or unstable over the other. In the following section, luring will be explained so that you should be killing sapping and unstable at the same time. Ability bar: This spot is the easiest one to use. When killing the north, east, and west spawns, stand on the square above. For the south spawn, stand 1 square west of the tile above. *This is not the optimal spot to use, for that, there is a better one that only works on high-spawn because you only have 3 spawns. Combust should be used solely for initial hit on enduring. Impact used as "fixer" whenever you mess up (usually for finishing off glacytes alive after breath) Sacrifice should be used if asphyxiate-wrack does not finish off Glacor. Start off the trip by attacking the south spawn, standing 1 west of the tile stood on in the above picture. Use concentrated blast, then wild magic, then whatever else is needed to bring the glacor to 15000 hp. (Stick to wrack and concentrated). When the glacytes spawn, target enduring (should autoattack barrage if timed correctly) and combust, move 1 north for distance, chain, 1 north for lure, then concentrated blast to kill the enduring glacyte. Switch target to the unstable glacyte which will now be in front of the sapping, and use dragon breath. This should finish off all the glacytes. If both are still alive, autoattack barrage until one is dead, then use impact on the remaining glacyte. Finish the kill with asphyxiate-wrack-sacrifice. Next attack the north spawn, starting wherever you end up from south spawn with concentrated blast. Move immediately after 2nd hit of concentrated blast to the tile in the picture or any tile directly south of it, while staying in range. Then wild magic-wrack. When the glacytes spawn, target the enduring glacyte, combust, chain, move south however many you want, then concentrated blast to kill off the enduring glacyte. Switch target to unstable glacyte, which will be in front of sapping, and use dragon breath. Repeat the method stated above if glacytes aren't dead. Finish with asphyxiate-wrack, if the glacor dies too fast override asphyxiate with a basic to get back to >93%adrenaline. Move to attacking the east spawn. Move to the starting tile, start with wrack or concentrated blast. Immediately use sunshine when you hit 100% adrenaline, and then use wrack-impact-wrack. When the glacytes spawn, target the enduring, combust, chain, move 3 steps north, and then use concentrated blast to kill the enduring. Switch targets to the unstable glacyte which is in front of the sapping glacyte, then use dragon breath. Moving back to start tile is optional, as you are on the correct side anyways, and asphyxiate the glacor. If this leaves you with <48% adrenaline override asphyxiate early to get back to >=48%. East spawn > west spawn, stay on any tile from the start tile to 3 north of start tile (So you are still in sunshine). auto-wild magic on glacor, optional wrack. As glacytes spawn, move back to start tile. combust on enduring, run east arbitrary number of tiles, then chain (try not to chain after running 4 east, as this aggros the south spawn). conc, then dragonbreath sapping in front of unstable. Finish kill as usual, then move to 1 west of start tile and repeat from south spawn. This is not optimal as you sunshine every 4 glacors when for max efficiency you should be ulting every 3 glacors. However, that spot is harder to describe. 5. Glacor Luring and Pathing: The purpose of this section is to detail how to lure glacytes so that you have sapping and unstable glacytes lined up. This allows you to use dragon breath on 2 glacytes at the same time. Easiest 3 lures (and only 3 you should ever need if you have legendary pet) 6. Glacor Killing (Advanced): 7. Rewards: Glacors have many good drops: Shards of Armadyl (100 used to make armadyl battlestaff, which sells for 13-14M) Droprate is estimated at 1/10 Steadfast, Glaiven, Ragefire boots (~19M, ~9M, ~8M). Droprate is roughly 1/450 for any boots, then one is randomly chosen. Rune items, water talismans, blue dragonhide, other noted items. Blue and Crimson charms (3 at a time). 8. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zSeGGqV9Fo 9. Other Tips and Tricks: Something 10. Meleeing Glacors: This is actually a thing. Testing has yet to be fully completed, but a quick initial test yielded between 400k and 500k melee xp per hour. Drygores, Torva, crit scrimshaw. Ability rotation tbd. Currently seems to be slice-backhand-destroy-sever glacytes slaughter, run, flurry, whatever needed to kill rest of glacytes surge forward slice-backhand-assault. Run to next glacor. With the gear below, I kill 11 9 glacors per renewal dose, which is roughly 125-130 107-108 kills per hour. Each kill being 5311 magic xp (without any bonuses), that gives me a base of 660-690k 570-575k magic xp/hour without wisdom/avatar/etc. [spoiler=Old video] Deo requested to see me kill glacors. Here is 1 renewal. Made a few mistakes since I didn't have scrimshaw, so I overestimated my damage a few times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3q4aH1sDAg Future Goal(s): [X] Stay ahead of Deo/Pat in slayer. [X] Get Back Completionist Cape [X]200m Ranged []200m dungeoneering (I do dg challenges for 179k xp per day when i remember) []2b total xp 1930/2000 Current Stats:
  9. This is my blog, i'm playing on power2o, getting 120 firemaking which i have banked. I am also playing on my hadcore ironman just doing shit.
  10. The whole ascension dungeon and it's contents aren't mentioned in the slayer guide http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/slayer_guide.htm http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/ascension_dungeon.htm In addition it seems that the latest slayer master and lot's of other slayer related things haven't been added to the guide either. Someone please update the guide. I can help a bit if needed or if I happen to notice something else missing while slaying.
