  1. Virtual Levelling | Ninja Update The Ninjas have added the option for Virtual Levelling in today's update. Turn it on and you'll see how far you've progressed towards that illustrious level 120 equivalent in each of your skills! While there's no content to unlock between 99 and 120, you will still get level-up messages. There is also the choice of some cool icons you can display on your stats to mark your dedication and skill. These will be gold on level 120 skill equivalents, and crystal if you reach 200 million XP. You'll find the Virtual Levelling options in the Miscellaneous tab of the Game Settings interface. Live Streams this Week Each week we stream developer Q&As, in-game events and more. Watch our streams and find a full streaming schedule over on our Twitch channel. Check our YouTube channel, too, for recap videos of streams you may have missed, including last week's Falador Rework teaser and Virtual Levelling. This week sees us discuss all the awesome reveals we've talked about at RuneFest, and catch up wit the Customer Support Team. Developer Q&A: RuneScape Reveals | 16:00 UTC, Tuesday 6th October Join a special cast of JMods on the streaming sofas as they take your questions - this week, we'll be discussing all the awesome reveals we've spoken about at RuneFest, including all the exciting updates we've got planned for 2016. Be prepared for some big-hitters! Ask your questions on the forums, on Reddit, or on Twitter using the hashtag#RSDevQA. Q&A with the Player Support Team | 17:00 UTC, Tuesday 6th October To celebrate National Customer Service Week, we've grabbed some of our team to take part in a special Q&A - to share what it is they do, what we plan to do to help you in the future, and also what they have lined up for Customer Service week! Ask your questions on the forums tomorrow and the team will answer as many as they can! Enjoy! Everyone's riding high after RuneFest, looking forward to a year of content like never before. Have fun, and give us your feedback over on the forums! The RuneScape Team In Other News We've made some changes to certain pieces of gear. Find out more about these in the patch notes:Upgraded Darklight is more effective against demons.A five-piece set effect has been added to the crystal armour from Tarddiad.Sunspear now grants more Prayer and Firemaking XP, can be reclaimed for a fee, no longer increments cremation count, and now has a 1-in-5 chance to yield Columbarium loot, down from 100%.Vyrelord has made an awesome-looking Vampyric font, based on the alphabet we recently released. If you've a message that screams to be written in blood, you can download the font now![spoiler=Patch Notes] Weapons & Armour: Crystal Armour The following set effects have been added to the crystal armour gained on Tarddiad. The effects below become available once you are wearing at least the required number of armour pieces. Note that the harmonious effect will only be given if you have 5 attuned pieces equipped. Attuned and normal armour pieces cannot be mixed to gain the set effects. (2) Increases the damage dealt to crystal shapeshifters and increases the chance of attuned crystal weaponry using their special passive.(3) Chance to cause Tarddian Fury, which deals damage around you depending on your weapon and Agility level. This can only happen every 3 seconds and the chance of it happening is increased per piece you are wearing (maximum 7.5% chance).(4) Tarddian Fury now also removes stun and bleed effects.(5) [Attuned only] On being hit, or during the use of the Seren skilling prayers, there is a chance to obtain Harmonious Resonance". This effect lasts for a few seconds and whilst active causes Seren prayers not to drain prayer energy, aurora spells (other than sapphire) to proc twice and increases the duration of crystallise by 15 seconds.Wearing the armour will also increase the amount of crystals and crystal fragments gained from Tarddiad, and will greatly increase the chance of finding something belonging to Angof. 2. New Auras | Gauntlet of Souls This week's update is a two-parter. Today, we release a massive batch of auras, including all-new options and higher-tiered versions of some old favourites. Then, from 00:00 UTC on 27th October, Gauntlet of Souls breaks free of its shackles and shambles forth from RuneLabs – lasting through the Halloween period for two weeks. As well as its spectacularly spooky new environment, there are some great rewards – including a Kharidian cat pet, gravestone overrides andXP-giving herb burner. Read on to find out more! New Auras Brand new auras are now available via Xuan's Loyalty Store or Solomon's Store. The following come in five tiers, all with benefits ranging from 3-15%: Dedicated Slayer | Slayer kills have a chance not to reduce your assignment countFlameproof | Reduces chance of burning foodFocused Siphoning |Increases chance of successful siphoning at the RunespanThe following are equivalents to the melee Berserker aura – both at tier three: Reckless | Boosts ranged damage and accuracy, at the cost of defenceManiacal | Boosts magic damage and accuracy, at the cost of defenceBrawler comes in four tiers, with benefits up to 10%: Brawler | Increases melee accuracyWe've also added new tiers for the following favourites: Wisdom | Supreme and Legendary tiers, with duration increased to 60 and 90 minutesJack of Trades | Legendary tier, requiring 25 different skills trained in three hours Gauntlet of Souls | Halloween Event - Free-to-Play How to Start Enter the soul rift by Burthorpe's lodestone from 00:00 UTC (game time) on 27th October Requirements None Other Information Combat is safe, with scaling NPCs. The event is accessible to Ironman players. Forged in the baleful fires of Cinderquill's RuneLabs suggestion, this year's Halloween event takes you on a journey to the Underworld – aiding Icthlarinagainst the depredations of Amascut. Jump in the boats to start rescuing souls from the river. Occasionally, special souls will spawn that will grant you XP, in a skill determined by the type collected. Once 20 souls have been collected, you'll be able to to escort the souls across the bridge, fending off Amascut's devourer beasts along the way, using your combat or divination powers. Note that fighting the devourer beasts gives no XP – so there's no risk of earning any unwanted combat XP. Every 15 minutes, the Avatar of Amascut will spawn, and must be defeated. Team up and take the beast down! Rewards You'll earn Noumenon Favour for participating in the event. Also, skilling or training combat on the surface world during the event will occasionally spawn a lost spirit. Calm these spirits for XP, then hand them in to Sinn Derkwill in the Underworld for Noumenon Favour. This can be spent on some unique rewards: Kharidian cat pet.XP lamp: usable on the skill of your choice.Death animation override: Be dragged to the Underworld by a devourer beast. This can be toggled at Death's house.Members also have access to the following rewards: Herb burner: this placeable item can be used to burn herbs for 10x the XP gained from cleaning them. Note that the rate at which this is done is not the same as cleaning herbs.Gravestone overrides: these resemble the jackal and lioness statues seen in the Underworld, and can be selected or deselected at the Keldagrim shop.As another members' benefit, the Underworld is also host to another Ectofuntus. It's much like the surface version, although there's no need to traverse floors to pick up buckets of slime, so Prayer training there is a good deal quicker. Have Fun! Enjoy the event and new auras, and let us know your thoughts over on the forums. The RuneScape Team Live Streams this Week Each week we stream developer Q&As, in-game events and more. 6. Patch Week | Solomon's Store – Character Showcase This week's release is a quiet one, and we wanted to let you know why. We'd originally planned to release the latest Grandmaster quest The Light Withinthis week – along with a massive expansion to the Ancient curses and spells that will open up whole new ways to play the high-level game. Late last week, we made the decision to delay the quest's release by a week. Had we gone ahead as originally planned, it wouldn't have met the high standards necessary for such a complex, eagerly anticipated piece of content – particularly one with far-reaching effects on other areas of the high-level game. Put simply, we'd rather take another week to give the content the polish and quality that you deserve, rather than put it out before it's ready. We're working hard to bring The Light Within up to scratch. In the meantime, see the patch notes for details of today's fixes and tweaks, and read on for details of an epic addition to Solomon's Store and this week's live-streaming schedule. Please accept our apologies for the delay, and any disappointment this may have caused. Next week's update's set to be a doozy, with The Light Within, multiple on-screen action bars and Ironman group bossing and completionist cape capability. We hope you'll agree it's worth the wait! The RuneScape Team Solomon's Store | Artist Showcase - Barbarian Outfit Today, the first of three showcase pieces from our terrifyingly talented artists comes to Solomon's Store: the Barbarian Outfit. Character artist Mod Ante has been given the chance to cut loose and flex his creative muscles, coming up with designs that show off his vision and skill. The theme for today's release was simply 'melee', and the Barbarian Outfit doesn't disappoint. Comprising a full cosmetic override outfit – with weapons – and an impressively beefy walk animation, it's a strong look for battle-born brawlers everywhere. Pick up the Barbarian Outfit today, and keep an eye out for ranged and magic-themed offerings, coming soon. Need RuneCoins? You can purchase them via the website, or click 'Earn' from within Solomon's Store. Live Streams this Week Each week we stream developer Q&As, in-game events and more. 10. In this game, we post the Fibonacci Sequence. Aka, add the values from the previous *2* posts together to make the value of your post. Starting with what's clearly the right place to start this sequence: 0 Okay guys, but like, you understand this is a bad thread, right? This was kindof a joke where I'd make a bunch of bad threads that were just variations of the counting game, and they would be just as boring as the count to 30k game, and just as redundant as the count down from 10k game. And yet, people continue to post in this stupid ass thread. Like. [bleep]. This is a bad thread guys. Play in the good forum games, ffs.
  11. The Arc & Uncharted Isles | Invention XP | Flourishing Fairy Outfit You suggested it and now it’s finally here – RuneScape has a brand new region waiting for you to set sail and explore. Once you meet the requirements, head over to The Arc islands via Port Sarim for skilling, hunting, slaying and so much more. When you’ve earned yourself some currency there, blast into the neighbouring Uncharted Isles and lay claim to your very own island paradise. Check out a spectactular new addition to Solomon's Store, too: the Flourishing Faery Outfit. Also this week is the lifting of the Invention XP-item amnesty. Read on for all the details about that, as well as our usual patch notes, streaming info and other news. Requirements:RuneScape members only. To access the Arc islands, you only need to have completed the mini-quest “Impressing the Locals.” Speak to Trader Stan in Port Sarim to begin. To explore the uncharted isles and claim your own island you must have one or more of the following skills at level 90: Fishing, Hunter, Slayer and Woodcutting. Miniquests in and around the Arc islands will have individual requirements. The Arc Islands The first three islands of an area called The Arc are now here for you to explore! Get ready for a host of different action-packed activities, challenges, skilling opportunities, miniquests, characters, nuggets of lore and so much more. Arrive first at the trade hub of Waiko. Talk to the various characters who inhabit this bustling and vibrant marketplace. Take on miniquests, continue the Slaver storyline or carry out tasks to earn the unique currency, chimes, which can be spent on the resources necessary to start the second part of this initial Eastern Lands release: exploring the Uncharted Isles, but more on that later in the post! Secondly, travel to Whale’s Maw. Located in prime fishing waters this is the perfect spot for training your Fishing and Hunter skills. Finally there's Aminishi – a Slayer-focussed island. Investigate the mysterious cult of monks who inhabit it and discover their links to the monstrous spirit dragons. What secrets will you discover in this strange and wondrous place? Additional islands, some of which you can see on the Arc’s map screen, will be added in future content releases. For now, let’s look at the other part of this bumper initial Eastern Lands update. Explore the Uncharted Isles – find your own island paradise Once you have earned enough chimes, the unique currency of the Eastern Lands, you will be able to spend them on Supplies from the market in Waiko. Once you have enough Supplies (and meet a level requirement – detailed above) you will be able to explore the Uncharted Isles. This is a procedurally generated region where every voyage brings up more uniquely shaped islands with random assortments of resources. Land on any island you discover, skill, kill or chill there for a while, then move on to the next one in search of different riches. This is where the really high-level skilling is to be discovered in the Eastern Landsand you’ll have to keep on exploring the Uncharted Isles for a chance to find it. When you find one you like, place a flag on it to save it as your own permanent, private resort. Once decided upon, you can return to your island whenever you like. Perhaps you picked it because of its abundance of useful skilling resources or perhaps you just like the shape – it’s up to you to explore and discover. You can even add customisation to your new base too, including a fabulous hammock that you can use to change the time of day. The best islands with the biggest riches will cost the most of supplies to reach. Save up by taking part in as many Arc activities as possible and launch a voyage farther into the unknown that any ‘Scaper has gone before! Remember - this is only the first part of the Eastern Lands expansion and many more features are planned. Stay tuned for further news of the upcoming additions to this wonderful new horizon for RuneScape. Now get exploring! The Eastern Lands are all about exploring and it’s a clean slate for you all. What will you discover? 19. Prifddinas Waterfall Fishing Following last week's double helping of blood and mayhem, it's high time to kick back and relax. Waterfall Fishing is here – inspired by RuneLabs contributor Ferenc2017 - and it's the ideal high-level, low-intensity Fishing training method after a busy day's slaying, PKing or real-lifing. It'll be a top choice for Double XP Weekend, too – starting 25th September at 12:00 UTC (game time). Play now, or read on to find out more. How to Start The waterfall is in the north-east of Prifddinas, between the outer reaches of the Meilyr and Crwys Districts. Requirements You must be a RuneScape member93 Fishing90 Agility90 Ranged90 Strength95 and 97 Fishing required for mid and high-level spots.Mithril grapple This content is entirely available to Ironman players. Grapple your way to the top of the waterfall to access this angler's paradise. Once you're there, fish to your heart's content, chatting with your friends and enjoying the best Fishing XP rates in the game. The waterfall's swarming with urchins, the biggest ones found at the higher-level fishing spots. As well as granting Fishing XP when caught, they can be ground down into harmony dust. This – in turn – can be used to upgrade fishing juju potions to a 'perfect' variety that gives +5% fishing success for an hour, plus the juju fishing potion's benefits. Note that the perfect juju fishing potion's effect is now also granted by the perfect plus potion. Watch out for fun random events such as geysers and big fish, and some unique, rare catches – such as the customisable hermit crab pet. Urchins can also be redeemed for urchin points at the waterfall's shop, which can be spent on rewards such as Fishing lamps, the crystal rod – a charge-based angling implement that grants you an additional +5% success chance – andcustomisations for your hermit crab: Take in a little tranquility and chalk up some Fishing levels while you're at it. WhenDouble XP Weekend starts at 12:00 game time on Friday 25th, there'll be few better places to hit that 99. Enjoy, and give us your feedback over on the forums. 23. Ninja Update – Responsive Combat Today's update brings a change that'll make RuneScape combat faster, more frantic and more fluid: improved combat responsiveness from the deadly and talented Ninja Team. Get into game, gear up and seek out an enemy - you'll notice the difference right away. As determined in a Player Power poll last year, we've also made a whole load of Gielinor's deadliest beasts aggressive, as they once were. Read on for further details! Combat Responsiveness First, we removed the short delays between cooldowns ending and abilities triggering, and between clicking an ability and that ability activating. This means combat now feels more immediate and dynamic – your actions translating crisply to those of your character in-game. Note that we've increased cooldown times slightly to compensate for the quicker combat, so combat balance is unaffected. As well as that, we've also improved target switching, so you can charge into battle with lethal efficiency. Finally, if you're a Revolution fan, you'll find that your favourite combat mode kicks in and deactivates in a much smoother fashion. There's no substitute for trying today's improvements first-hand. Log in and give it a go! 24. Ports - Guardians of the World You wanted more Ports, and - by Hubbub's briny beard - that's what you're getting today. Manage voyages anywhere in game, meet three new adventurers, embark on a whole new voyage type and enjoy some exotic rewards, including a level-85 katana and wakizashi, and seasinger wand and orb. Manage Voyages Anywhere You can now manage your voyages from anywhere in game with the captain's log. This allows you to send your ships out on new voyages and find out the outcome of existing ones without interrupting your other activities. The only exceptions are story voyages, and the few voyages that require you to receive an item in your inventory upon completion. You do - of course - need to visit your port to do anything else. New Adventurers There are three new adventurers who can come to your port, taking your crews on new story missions: - The Tengu is a living mask controlling a willing host - not to mention a brave vanquisher of evil. Requires 90 Agility. - The Memory is a young girl born of divine energy, whose first concern is not being harvested! Requires 90 Divination. - The Exile is a gorajo searching the Eastern Lands for her brother. Requires 90 Dungeoneering. Their adventures will take your crews throughout the existing Eastern Lands regions, culminating in a team mission that features monsters from the deep, uncharted lands, and an enemy who may be familiar from elsewhere in RuneScape. Clue Voyages There's an all-new voyage type, too: clue voyages. When you get the opportunity to embark on a clue voyage, you'll be required to send one of the adventurers to an island. You'll have a clue as to which one that is - get it right, and you'll unlock the next in the chain. Succeed in finding the final island, and you'll enjoy any of a number of rewards, including Tengu cosmetic gear, trait removal for your captains, and stat boosts. Consider building the new map table port improvement, which increases the likelihood of getting the new clue voyages and gives you hints as to the correct destinations. You can find out which you still need to try via the preview in the Title interface. Death Rework With your help in the beta, we've reworked RuneScape's Death system. There's now more freedom in how you reclaim your items and more leeway when things go wrong, while retaining the risk in your most dangerous adventures. When you die – as long as you're not in the Wilderness or in a safe area – the following applies: Items are now stored by Death when you die. He will look after them for 24 hours of in-game time. This persists across log-outs, so disconnects are no longer a danger. You will respawn in his office. You will be able to claim back your items in exchange for coins, by sacrificing items eligible to be lost for their coin value, or a combination of the two, using a new interface.Items that would have degraded on death, won't do so if reclaimed from Death's storage, as the penalty is now reflected in the buy-back mechanic. If you choose not to reclaim items from Death immediately, your gravestone will spawn when you leave his office. Gravestone timers have been reduced, but this will allow you to reclaim items using the degrade-on-death mechanics you're used to.If you choose to try and get back to your gravestone and don't make it, Death will still be holding your items. You can return to Death within 24 hour in-game hours if you wish to claim some of your items back later. Be aware, though, that dying again will wipe the stored items – only the items and equipment you were carrying during your most recent death are stored.Note that existing mechanics for items kept on death still apply. This includes extra items kept with prayers, divination items, and similar effects, including reductions for being skulled or being in a dangerous area.Items you were holding when you died can no longer be picked up by other players. In the Wilderness, or in safe areas, none of the above applies. Death mechanics in PvP situations are the same as they've always been, with the exception that a stack of items is now treated as a single item for purposes of item protection. Other, smaller tweaks are: You can now choose any gravestone appearance that you have unlocked. You will always get the benefits of the best one available to you, regardless of the chosen look.Graves are now allowed in the Corporeal Beast's lair. Solomon's Store – Prismatic Dyes Looking for the perfect shade of purple or an exceptionally eye-catching ochre? Prismatic dyes are for you – only on Solomon's Store! You'll now find eight new colour slots on the recolour interface for compatible cosmetic override outfits. Each dye you purchase lets you set a colour for one of these slots, chosen from a colour wheel. Save up to eight of your favourite colours, and use them to your heart's content. Should you ever need to replace one, simply purchase another dye from the store. Need more RuneCoins? You can get them by redeeming Bonds, or you canpurchase more on the website.
