  1. System Update • Clue scroll stages no longer increase when bouncing different clue scrolls. • The Tanzanite helm and Magma helm now keep their colour when dropped on death, unless you died to a PKer. In PvP, the helms still revert to the tradeable green form so that your PKer can receive them as loot. • Performing the same SOS emote 4 times no longer completes the diary task asking you to perform each of the 4 emotes. • Sea snake kills are now tracked on the slayer log. • Sea snakes have been added to the slayer skill guide. • You can now cast telegrab around Seers' courthouse. • Prevented some diary task messages from appearing if you haven't started the related diary. • Bracelets of clay no longer randomly consume charges if you haven't completed the Varrock achievement diary. • Fixed a labeling issue on the female uncharged tanzanite helm. • Filtered some game messages relating to agility obstacles and pickpocketing. In Other News... Behind the Scenes... Ian and Mod Ash are working away on Resizable Mode. The gameframe elements are coming on well, with option buttons to control the chatbox transparency and the layout of the stone buttons: ... but there's a lot of work still to do, reviewing around 540 interfaces to make them handle a resizable screen. We hope to have this ready for launch at the start of June. Mod Maz is working on our Duel Arena, as a break from her usual RS3 work, adding in a few essential improvements such as preventing players from changing the setup options without their opponents noticing, and showing more useful information on the confirmation screen. While she's deep in the Duel Arena code, she's happy to build in a few extra features if you vote for them in Content poll #33. Content poll #33 is now open, offering a range of features from quick world hopping to Farming improvements. Be sure to check out the developer blog for all the info then head to a poll booth to vote! Join us later today for the Old School developer Q&A on the RuneScape Twitch channel. We'll be answering the most pressing questions from the Old School community live at 5pm BST. Keep up-to-date with updates and what is going on with the Old School team by following us on Twitter: @JagexArchie, @JagexAsh, @Jagex_Ghost, @Jagex_Ian, @JagexJohnC, @JagexMatK, @JagexRonan and @JagexWeath One of their poll questions this week includes increasing the number of GE boxes as well...thoughts on that?
  2. NXT – RuneScape's all-new game client – is here! This means better RuneScape performance than ever before, and it looks great too – vast viewing distances, dynamic shadows and beautiful lighting effects. To celebrate, embark on Benedict's World Tour: a globe-trotting mini-adventure that's perfect for taking in the sights.NXT is available to download now - for everyone. Enjoy! How to Install NXTDownload the installer for your OS, then run it.RequirementsNone.For best performance, ensure that your OS and graphics drivers are fully up to date.We also advise experimenting with the Graphics Settings to find the best balance of performance and graphics quality for your hardware. NXT is designed to get the most out of your hardware, looks fantastic and runs smootly across the board. We've tested NXT extensively, but with millions of system configurations out there, it's inevitable that a few blips will slip through. If you have any issues, don't worry – just click the flag icon on the in-game chat interface or visit the forums, and describe the problem along with your PC spec. The team will get you up and running as soon as possible. Finally, we couldn't have got here without the legion of testers who logged in during our recent beta weekends, showering us with valuable feedback and digging out pesky bugs. Huge thanks to you all! Benedict's World Tour World-weary beast of burden Benedict Encumberyak is missing some important items, and needs you to visit various picturesque Gielinor locales to track them down – perfect for drinking in those glorious NXT visuals. There'll be eight of these accessible to free players, and eight more that are for members only. You'll get a small XP lamp for every four you collect, and a large XP lamp for collecting either all of the free items or all of the members' items.Log in using the NXT Client, then speak to Benedict by the Burthorpe or Prifddinas lodestone to get started. Have Fun! Thanks again for your awe-inspiring feedback during the beta – it really was essential for getting to this point. With your help, the NXT guys have achieved a great deal, but there's still work to be done. NXT's out in the world, but like any key element of RuneScape, it'll receive ongoing support and improvement. We'll continue to further optimise the client, and – of course – to bring you awesome new content that takes full advantage of what NXT can do.Have fun, and let us know what you think over on the forums! The RuneScape Team Solomon's Store | Royal Eastern Outfit Show the style and grace of an Eastern Lands aristocrat with the Royal Eastern outfit - an all-new arrival at Solomon's General Store. Patch Notes - Ribbon Rework Mod Hunter’s made a number of handy tweaks to the ribbon. What a legend. The window can now be resized and now adds space between iconsThe following windows can now be added to the ribbon: magic abilities, combat spells, teleport spells, skilling spells, attack abilities, strength abilities, defence abilities, constitution abilities and emotes. This is now easier for us to do, should we need to add more. The following features have been added to the ‘Ribbon Setup’ interface:You can now reset your ribbon to the default icons or clear it in one goIcons added to the bar are now removed from the selection areaSpacing has been improved for the ‘Ribbon Setup’ interface and the Options Menu. A section for window management has also been added to the latter.Of the two windows labelled ‘Magic Abilities’, the main has been renamed ‘Magic Book’ and been given an icon to match.Melee and attack abilities now have separate icons (melee uses crossed swords). The ‘worn equipment’ icon has been changed to distinguish it from the ‘hero’ icon. The drawer icon has been replaced with a settings cog to make room....Thanks Mod Hunter! To ensure that these changes have had the desired effect, they will now be tested for new players, half of whom will see the existing, unchanged setup while the other half are exposed to the above. You can read the full list of this week’s updates - including optimisations resulting from some fancy new dev tools - on the patch notes forum thread. MWAHAHAHA! Evil is the BEST! [spoiler=Patch Notes] Ribbon Rework A number of improvements have been made to the ribbon: The window can now be resized and now adds space between icons. The following windows can now be added to the ribbon:Magic abilities (abilities only)Combat SpellsTeleport SpellsSkilling SpellsAttack AbilitiesStrength AbilitiesDefence AbilitiesConstitution AbilitiesEmotesAdding future windows to the ribbon now requires significantly less work. The following features have been added to the ‘Ribbon Setup’ interface:You can now reset your ribbon to the default icons or clear it in one go.Icons added to the bar are now removed from the selection area.Spacing has been improved for the ‘Ribbon Setup’ interface and the Options Menu. A section for window management has also been added to the latter. The spacing on the options menu (escape key) has been improved. A section for managing windows has also been added.Of the two windows labelled ‘Magic Abilities’, the main has been renamed ‘Magic Book’ and been given an icon to match.Melee and attack abilities now have separate icons (melee uses crossed swords). The ‘worn equipment’ icon has been changed to distinguish it from the ‘hero’ icon. The drawer icon has been replaced with a settings cog to make room.Alongside these changes, we’re also running tests on the tutorial. Half of new players will get the existing tutorial unchanged, while the other half will start with only the settings button on the ribbon, with the inventory, skills and worn equipment windows opened as they’re first seen. These players will also have the default set of buttons activated after the tutorial, where we hope to see players having a less confusing experience and, as a result, fewer players dropping out. Optimisations We’ve been using some new tools to track which scripts are running in the client in certain situations. Using these, we've been able to identify unnecessary and/or expensive code, investigating what these scripts are doing and then optimising where we can. The benefits should affect everyone, but will be more noticeable on lower-end machines. Changes include: Bank Client-side spoofing tries to predict what will happen and helps make the bank seem more responsive. When spam clicking to withdraw multiple items, this could get out of sync and cause a well-known ‘tab flickering’ bug. Changes have been made to reduce the likelihood of this error occurring. The way the icons are built when the bank is loaded has changed. This means items should no longer 'pop in' when scrolling through. The efficiency of individual scripts has been generally improved.Measure have been put in place to stop the interface from repositioning everything when no changes have been made to the inventory.General improvementsIn historical cases, and especially on first login, window positioning may have occurred several times. This should now only happen once.By deleting permanent interface components and only building them when required, almost 1,000 components no longer use memory constantly.Several scripts run every client frame, for purposes such as controlling animations. These run in the background even when you’re doing nothing, and we’ve made several changes:Overall, we’ve reduced the run-time of these passive scripts by almost 95%.Global transparency was using these scripts, and accounted for a large portion of this. We’ve changed the way it’s implemented, but unfortunately it means we can no longer use the current setting, so all transparency will be set to the default of 50% on login.Several features such as loading screens now stop running these scripts when turned off.Bugs have been fixed which allowed some of these scripts to keep running after they were meant to be finished.Loading screensAfter detecting that the game is loading, there is now a half-second pause before triggering a loading screen, avoiding unnecessary loading screens such as when going through doors in barrows. The loading screen now has a disable button, saving new players from having to locate it in the settings menu.Skills, D&Ds and MinigamesUnstable essence has become (slightly!) more stable. For example, it will now show as Runecrafting in the Make-X interface rather than Cooking. It is no longer possible to summon pets inside the Dungeoneering grouping areas.Quests, Challenges and Achievements: Completing the One of a Kind quest now shows the correct task complete message.OtherPerfect dragon scales (for Vannaka's Slayer challenge) no longer try and drop on non-member worlds.A large number of optimisations have been made to the toplevel interface.Various optimisations have been made to the bank interface.Members can now remove the Extras icon on the ribbon interface.

Be sure to check out all the improvements and features, along with the usual patch notes and other news. Wilderness Task Set The Wilderness can be a really intimidating place for a new RuneScape player to start but thanks to the new Task Set, there is a now a structured way to make your first steps into these dangerous but fruitful lands. Experienced players will also have loads to gain from playing through the Tasks, not least the powerful Wilderness sword detailed in the Rewards section below. For convenience, Tasks can be done in any order, but you can’t claim a set's rewards until you've completed it and all the tasks in the previous ones. Requirements RuneScape members only The Easy Set has no requirements at all. Later Task Sets have increasingly high requirements, full details of which can be found in the Adventures interface, under the Achievements tab. Wilderness Improvements Be aware that we’ve reverted the way stackable objects are considered when protecting items on death in the Wilderness. Stackable objects are once again considered to be separate objects, rather than an individual stack. Please keep this in mind when exploring the new skilling and features of the Wilderness, as detailed below. Improved Wilderness Skilling The revitalised Wilderness is now full of new and improved skilling spots, each offering excellent XP and even the unique new bloodweed herb. Cursed Divination Wisps Visit the Sword of Edicts and catch the cursed wisps. The wisps in this location are highly variable meaning anyone can train at them. They offer differing XP rates in a similar manner to the Ourania Runecrafting altar. Once memories caught here are converted to energy, they can be weaved into any of the standard energies, provided you have the Divination level to harvest them. Chaos Altar Prayer Training The Chaos Altar in level 12 Wilderness now functions as an equivalent to the gilded altar (+350% XP) in a player-owned house without the need to light burners. Also, after completing the Hard tier of the Wilderness Task set (details in the section below), a friendly NPC un-noter becomes available in this location. Rogue’s Castle Pickpocketing Rogues in the Rogues’ Castle now can be pickpocketed for bloodweed seeds (see the bloodweed section below for more details). Pickpocketing them also works the same way as pickpocketing in Prifddinas except that when you are caught you can’t pickpocket rouges on that level of the castle for 30 seconds, oh and you’re in the Wilderness too, so watch your back! Wilderness Slayer Contracts New Wilderness Slayer contracts work like ones from the Slayer Tower except that if you are killed whilst in possession of one, the player who kills you can take it, work it and cash it out! Other than that, they offer the same additional +20% of the Slayer XP you would get from killing a Slayer creature on assignment. Additionally, the Wilderness Slayer contracts will stack with the Demonic Skill improvements. See section below for more detail. Charming Moths Charming moths can only be caught barehanded, but rewards players with the four standard summoning charms. Requires level 88 Hunter and level 83 Agility. Bloodweed and New Potions A new herb patch has been placed near the canoe exit. Any herb can be grown here but more importantly this is the only place in Gielinor where the brand new bloodweed can grow. Bloodweed requires level 57 Farming to grow. Thanks to bloodweed, three new potions can now be made, each giving amazing effects wherever you use them: Luck potion: Bloodweed + crushed dragonstone. Ring of wealth effect for 60 mins. Requires level 57 Herblore. Tradeable.Camouflage potion: Bloodweed + black salamander. Hides your dot on the minimap for 60 seconds to aid in sneak attacks. Requires level 65 Herblore. Untradeable.Aggression potion: Bloodweed + searing ashes. Makes all attackable NPC’s aggressive to you for 6 mins. Requires level 82 Herblore. Tradeable.Other Wilderness Improvements Wilderness Banks All of the Wilderness team cape sellers now act as bankers! Note that the banks cannot be opened in combat, and are closed if attacked. Please note – Richard in Edgeville and Larry at the Gamers’ Grotto do not have the option to bank. Skulled Vendor & Better Bandits Noterazzo in the Bandit Camp, now has a stock of highly desirable items. The catch is, he'll only trade with you if you’re skulled! Be aware that the bandits in the Bandit Camp have also had their combat stats improved and have been given more powerful weapons. They won't hesitate to annihilate you if you aren't skulled already. Noterazzo sells fifty of various general store tools but his more interesting stock includes 3000 Broad arrowheads. Vial pack and water vial packs are available at 90% their usual store price. Gold leaf, marble block, algarum thread, reinforcing plate and stone of binding also appearing at 90% price. Bloodweed seeds are also sold by him but he only has 5, costing 50,000 coins each. Noterazzo restocks at midnight. Wilderness Switches A pair of switches has been added to the forest in the south-eastern edge of the Wilderness. Rack up the highest score you can by pressing one after the other as many times as possible without dying. Your exploits will be broadcast at the following press milestones 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 and so on. The chain of presses ends when you are killed or log out. Muddy Chest The muddy chest in the lava maze had an updated drop table. Bloodweed seeds may be acquired here along with random chances of getting items like the dragon longsword, limpwurt root, the crystal key and blood runes. Free-to-play players may still open the chest but won't receive any members’ objects. The chest will always drop 5000 coins. Magic Axe Hut Similarly, the chest in the magic axe hut has been rebalanced to offer better rewards whilst maintain its low-level (level 23 Thieving and a lockpick). Refreshed random drops include the rune battleaxe, mithril axe, muddy key and anchovy pizza. Demonic Skull Purchasing and wearing the demonic skull from the Mage of Zamorak in the Wilderness now also gives improved Agility XP at the Wilderness course. Starting at level 50, this will scale up, leading to double XP at level 75 and eventually triple XP at level 99. Slayer XP in the Wilderness, Farming XP for collecting produce, Hunter XP at charming moths & Divination XP gained at the cursed crater are all boosted by 20% while wearing it too! Whether you’re new to the Wilderness or an old hand at surviving and thriving, we hope you enjoy this bumper update to its content! 11. Raptor's Challenge | Camel Warriors Gielinor's home to beings of all shapes and sizes, but camel warriors are among the strangest – and deadliest. Find them on the island just east of Sophanem and claim the level 85 camel staff, which can inflict extra damage over time and reduce your target's damage-dealing capabilities. They're the latest creatures to feature in Raptor's Challenge, too, so be sure to check in daily with the man himself - found nearby. Hope you're enjoying the double Slayer XP! Read on for further details, or play now! Where to Find Camel Warriors Get to the island east of Sophanem via the Agility shortcut Requirements You must be a RuneScape member96 Slayer is required to harm camel warriors100 combat is required to be assigned camel warriors by a slayer master Other Information Very high combat stats and your best gear are strongly recommended Camel warriors were born from an excellent RuneLabs pitch by Syrus Coy. These noble nomads are masters of melee and ancient magic, so underestimate them at your peril. They specialise in a unique form of sorcery – mirages made of smoke, blood and shadow. Each type has a different ability, buffing or healing others, or stealing your prayer points. Deal with them quickly, and try not to anger too many – they're nasty when they get the hump! If you're lucky, you'll pick up the level 85 camel staff – a mighty magical implement that reduces your target's accuracy by 5%, and applies a damage-over-time effect. As before, watch out for the next part of the key to the Raptor's chest while you're on assignment for camel warriors. Finally, if you've been diligently fulfilling the Raptor's assignments through the month, you'll be able to hit the 15 required to unlock the Raptor-themed cosmetic armour set. It looks pretty awesome to start with, but gets yet more imposing as you maintain kill streaks of the high-level mobs we've released this month. The improved appearance unlocks when you kill 30 wyverns, ripper demons, camel warriors or Acheron mammoths (any combination). This kill count degrades over time and the improved version of the armour override reverts to the basic one if it drops below 30 - although it can always be unlocked again. Kills are counted up to 100, so you can make it last a good while if you kill enough. Have Fun! Another cunning enemy awaits you this week - we're looking forward to seeing you take the camel warriors down. Enjoy, and let us know your thoughts over on the forums. 12. Behind the Scenes - July 2015 A brand new planet, raids, big cats and elite slayer creatures await! Tuska Falls With Tuska soundly beaten by the might of the Godless, her limp body hurtles towards the planet...but what will happen? One thing's for sure: the portal on her back will open, and heroes like you will take one giant leap for mankind...and visit the mysterious planet Mazcab. As for Tuska herself, you'll still be able to play the island-hopping event content to earn rewards, so make sure you pop back if you fancy some more action. Raids and the Goebie Homeworld Step through Tuska's portal, you'll get to meet the goebies, a strange race of frog-like creatures who call Mazcab their home - who have a serious airut problem. Tuska gorged on their planet many years before, and a taskforce of warriors remained to act as cruel overlords. The planet itself is packed full of new, exciting content for all types of players. We'll have plenty of news and videos about that in the near future, so I'll just give you a quick rundown now: First up are raids. These epic adventures offer a new take on high-level boss fights, for groups of up to 10 players. Each raid boss has very different gameplay, with plenty of teamwork required even to reach each fight. There'll be two bosses with this first release, with plenty of plans for more in the future, growing in difficulty and rewards. There are raid feats – a series of absurdly hard combat challenges for the truly dedicated warrior. There's also a new safe PvP activity, where you'll move vital supplies between goebie camps. There's plenty of exploration, too. Mazcab is far more than a home for boss fighters – there's a whole world to discover! Find lore fragments, complete mini-quests and get lost in the Dungeoneering-style forest that changes faster than a speeding kebbit. Rewards include new tier 90 tank armour with set effects in all combat styles, five new abilities – tradeable until they're claimed - new titles, pets and fast travel options, just to name a few. Fast Lodestone Teleports Another great suggestion coming to the game from RuneLabs this month is the idea of using vis wax to charge quick teleports, allowing you to use lodestones in super quick time. Thanks to F D C for this cracking idea. It just goes to show that RuneLabs can be used to suggest almost anything! This month, we want you to ask a story question that we'll answer in a medium-sized quest. Want to know what happened to King Vallance? Ever wondered why H.A.M. always wear pink? Head to RuneLabs now! Big Cats – WWF Big fan of cats? Well, throughout July we will be working with the World Wildlife Fund to raise awareness of endangered and vulnerable big cats like jaguars and tigers. For the first 2 weeks you'll be able to take part in a special Big Cats edition of The Drop, accessible from the conservationist near the Burthorpe lodestone. You'll be able to adopt adorable cub companions, and unlock some feline-themed titles, as well as XP lamps. You'll also be able to donate bonds directly to the conservationist, especially if you want to look after unique lion and snow leopard cubs. Jagex will be passing all proceeds from your Bond donations directly to the WWF to help with their amazing work, so dig deep and make a difference. Elite Slayer Creatures Ever wished there was something spicing up your slayer tasks? That's what elite slayer creatures are for! Certain enemies will have a chance of spawning bigger, meaner, richer versions of themselves, worth more slayer XP and more loot! Take the challenge and be rewarded, ignore it and everybody else can have a go after three minutes! Look out for the tell-tale “ring of death” orbiting creatures such as the powerful Dark Beast of Pain, and rise to the challenge. In Other News We're adding a new slot to the Grand Exchange for all players, and an extra one for members. We're adding some muscle to the beach, too, with Strength-training options, new beachy pets - like the amazing flapping fish, which is a personal favourite - and a beach ball version of the old cheese rolling event. Finally, there'll be some fantastic new barbarian, shaman and mage-themed outfits, new slayer masks and a bunch of cool cosmetics related to V! Have fun, and W00ters out. Mod Mark Podcast - Hero's Spoilers Mod Wilson gives Mod Sky a spoiler-laden run-down of the latest quest: Hero's Welcome. If you've yet to complete the quest, you may wish to do so before you listen! 13. Skill Capes & Diango Improvements Patch Week This week we’ve focused on bringing you a batch of fixes and improvements. Take a look through the list below. Skillcapes Toggle You asked, and we delivered! This update will allow you to toggle between both your old and new skillcapes, plus you’ll be able to keepsake both versions too and toggle individual skillcapes at the skillcape vendors. Your new model has been updates and the older versions now have hooded versions. Diango Interface Diango’s store has been given a fresh lick of paint and interface improvements – head into game now to take a look at the update. Solomon’s Store – Companion Pet Familiar Overrides Your companion pets are lovely little critters – many of which you enjoy taking on your many adventures, and we think that they deserve to be more involved! To that end, your summoned familiars can now take on the appearance of your companion pets! Much like your Legendary pets, any companion pet you own can now be used as an override for your summoned familiar. The familiar will still retain all of its special abilities and combat effectiveness, but look like your beloved companion pets! Note that an overridden familiar will lose it’s appearance should you enter a PvP area. Simply locate the pet you want to use as an override in the Pet interface and hit the ‘Override Familiar’ button and the bottom of the interface. That’s it! Your familiar will now take on the appearance of that pet! And to celebrate this, Solomon has put all companion pets in his store at half price this week! Pick up a pet you’ve been eyeing up and take it all over Gielinor – there’s nothing quite as cute as Zenn fighting by your side! In Other News We’ve got a few new things to try out in BETA, including the new death mechanics we’ve been talking about on the forums, and a new way of collecting loot. All going well, the Legacy/EoC mashup feature should be making it's way to the live game this month. This lets you to choose the combat and interface modes independently, for example allowing you to run Legacy combat with the New Interface System, or Legacy interfaces with EoC. Thanks for the feedback you provided on the features being tested on the BETA servers so far. [hide=Patch Notes]The following fixes and tweaks have now been implemented. If you believe a change has not been documented, either in the patch notes or the news posts for this week’s update, please detail the change so that it may be added. Skills, D&Ds & Minigames: Familiars can no longer practice agility on the Hefin serenity posts. Clan avatars still can, because they need the exercise. 15. Snowverload & Dominion Tower Rumble Mode Love a big boss battle? This is the week for you. We've opened up Dominion Tower's new Rumble Mode, where you'll fight packs of bosses all at once - either solo or with friends - and seek glory on the scoreboards by surviving as long as possible. We've added a swathe of fiendish bosses to the tower as a whole, too, and beefed up many of the rewards. We've also unleashed the ice-cold wrath of Snowverload - a frosty boss for the festive season. Read on to find out more. Dominion Tower Rumble Mode Rumble Mode is a new way to do battle in the Dominion Tower, accessible by clicking the stairs in the tower's lobby and selecting it from the interface. You can create a new Rumble Mode instance, or join an existing one - although note that it is possible to set entry requirements and a pass number when creating a game. The aim is simply to survive - as long as you can - against a brutal, never-ending onslaught of bosses. You'll do this while contending with random events - swarms of evil chickens, tornadoes, wizards, and sheets of flame from the Sunfreet. There are four special power-ups for the mode, too: Booster orb: doubles Dominion Factor gain for the user for 30 seconds.Vigorous orb: grants infinite adrenaline to the user for 30 seconds.Healing orb: heals all players' life points and prayer points by 50% of maximum.Volatile orb: imparts a random effect. More likely to be beneficial than not, but risky nonetheless.Rumble Mode can be played solo or with up to five players. The cap on bosses increases the more players are involved in the battle - up to ten for a four or five-player instance. When a player dies, they are removed and can only watch in spectator mode, but note that this does not decrease the cap on bosses for the instance. It's in your interest to keep your teammates alive! New Bosses 12 new boss encounters have been added to the tower, which are accessible in Climber, Endurance and Rumble Modes, then in Freestyle once they're defeated in one of those. Note that the quests they're related to now count towards the Dominion Tower's entry requirements: Apep and Heru (Diamond in the Rough)Vanstrom (The Branches of Darkmeyer)Char (The Firemakers’ Curse)Dawn (Death of Chivalry)Khazard and allies (Ritual of the Mahjarrat)Zemouregal and Enakhra (The World Wakes)Yelps (The Mighty Fall)Lol (The Mighty Fall)Chaos Grimmson and Hreidmar (Birthright of the Dwarves)Echo of Jas (One of a Kind)Dragon Hunters (One of a Kind)Nial Swiftfling (Glorious Memories)Rewards Dreadnips can now have their combat styles switched - just right-click them to make the change. They're better at finding their targets, too. Dominion Markers now grant you increased combat stats and - from tier 2 up - a prayer bonus when planted. There's also a new upgrade tier for the Dominion Medallion, meaning better stats, more teleports to the tower, and a style-universal accuracy buff. Rack up 1800 kills in Rumble Mode to unlock it. Please note that the double kill counts for unlocks bonus that's active this weekend will not work for unlocking this new item tier. Snowverload - Christmas Boss Free players and members A bulbous shape is forming in the winter gloom; wicked cackles drifting on the frigid breeze. Snowverload - the player-named seasonal boss - is here, and he's ready to put you on ice! This frosty monstrosity will manifest at the same time as every second Wilderness Warband, and can appear just north of Falador, in the Varrock Grand Exchange, south of the Clan Camp, or near Draynor Village. Snowverload is impervious to regular attacks. The only way to weaken him is to take snow from his body (right click on him to do this), and equip the snowballs you receive and pelt him with them. Dodge his deadly attacks and keep up your snowy onslaught and he'll gradually reduce in size. Once he's been sufficiently weakened, he'll start to move from his original spot. Once this happens, it's up to you to lure him to the Lumbridge Crater, where the most festive of heroes will step in to vanquish Snowverload…until he returns. Everyone who contributes to taking down Snowverload will receive two festive paper, and will be able to deliver a second present that day. Have Fun! Have a brilliant week of boss bashing and look out for more festive cheer to come. If you haven't already, read about Winter Weekends - particularly the Minigames Weekends that starts on the 12th, featuring Dominion Tower bonuses. Enjoy, and join in the discussion on the forums. 18. Slayer Partners & Teleports This week in Old School we've got several new, and some returning, animations for achievement diary teleports as well as the slayer partner system! No longer do you have to take on the slayer grind alone. Let's get into the details. Slayer Partners Slayer is the favourite skill of many Old School RuneScape players and it is now possible to enjoy the skill with a friend! Using an enchanted gem, slayer ring or slayer helm, you can now send another player a request to be slayer partners. Once accepted, when visiting a slayer master to receive a task you will both be given the same assignment. There are a few restrictions in place to prevent players being given tasks that they shouldn't have. You will only be given a slayer assignment that you have unlocked, have the slayer and combat level to complete and do not have blocked. If these criteria are not met your partner will receive the task but you will not. If you or your partner did not receive a task you will be notified in the chat box. You can dismiss your slayer partner at any time by using your enchanted gem, slayer ring or slayer helm to open up the interface. New Diary Teleport Animations The achievement diary teleports now have some fancy new animations! The teleports to the Ardougne monastery, Ardougne farming patch, Falador cabbage patch, slime pit and Nardah all received a makeover. Whether you're sinking into a pit of slime or getting wrapped up in a cabbage, travelling with these teleports is definitely a bit more interesting. In other news... Collecting the nightshade in the southern skavid cave now completes the Ardougne medium task. Removed some incorrect text from Toby's dialogue. Climbing the medium spiked chain at the slayer tower no longer completes the Morytania task for climbing the advanced spike chain. Varrock armour now provides an additional soft clay when mining with a bracelet of clay, rather than clay. Corrected the game message generated when you attempt to teleport to Sherlock without any charges remaining.Adjusted the colours on the Western banner 3 to prevent character skin colour changing the banner. Some falconry related messages are now caught by the spam filter.
